What an incredibly lovely restaurant, where we thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality. Such lovely people and a fantastic selection of food. Highly recommended!

On November 25th, I made a special reservation for four people (including myself) to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Suriname's independence (Srefidensi). The atmosphere was great, we had pleasant conversations with the owner and staff, and the food was delicious (although not for those who prefer spicy food 😉). In short, our experience was fantastic, and I highly recommend trying the traditional Eritrean coffee (no milk or sugar added)—it's truly delicious. I say, just do it.

The restaurant seemed disorganized from the start. Reservation was lost, seating confused, and staff unsettled. Dishes came lukewarm, flavors missing, and the bill contained errors. Management offered little apology or remedy for the poor experience. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

Save your money and eat elsewhere. The menu descriptions were misleading, the food underseasoned, and portions paltry. The waitstaff lacked basic training and the manager offered no real solution. The whole experience felt careless and unprofessional from start to finish.

Tonight we had a delicious meal at Seni. A super friendly family restaurant. Delicious vegetable dishes served on a large injera. Highly recommended!

The restaurant had a wonderful atmosphere. The waitress was incredibly friendly, and the food was excellent. Compliments to the waiter, waitress, and chef.

Give it a try. Go for a meal without any expectations. It tasted delicious. It takes some getting used to eating with your hands (you'll get cutlery if you want). A bit spicy, but very tasty. Friendly service, a somewhat cozy atmosphere, but cozy. The desserts weren't particularly special. Recommended if you're looking for something different.

We wanted something different after a long motorcycle tour and ended up at Senai. We'd never had West African food before, but that's about to change. Deliciously spiced and delicious, African-style, without cutlery. And truly delicious. And the people cooking and serving there are lovely too.

A friendly welcome makes you feel right at home. The food is delicious, though don't be afraid of a bit of spice. Authentically served, unless you insist on eating with a knife and fork. Reasonably priced.

My husband and I went to this restaurant since it’s very close to our home and were curious to try it. We order kulwa siga and kulwa dorho and eat it with injera. It was delicious and nice experience to eat with hands. Staff also friendly and nice.

The ultimate recommendation for a special evening! What a surprising gem in Almere-Haven! What delicious food and what a beautiful way to serve it and eat it together. With nice, sweet, personal service and attention. We first had the Sambussa, homemade puff pastry patties with minced meat, carrot and onion, deliciously seasoned with cumin. We had Seni's mix as a main course. A combination of 5 dishes, beautifully served on 1 plate on an Injera pancake. You eat by hand by tearing the pancake and picking up the dishes. The dishes tasted delicious, chicken in 2 types, spicy stewed beef, a potato dish and delicious lentils. Eating is a social event par excellence, about being together and connecting. And that comes into its own at Seni. We ended the evening with, among other things, Eritrean coffee. Coffee originally comes from the horn of Africa. Roasting the beans has been elevated to a true art there. You could taste it: a rare hat! We had a great experience and delicious food. If you really want a special night out, then Sensi is highly recommended!!

Enjoy African cuisine today. The food was delicious and you notice that it is really a family restaurant. I took the B-semi's mix(1p) twice. And of course it tasted good, but personally we thought this was a lot of money for what you get (€54).

This is the second time we have had a delicious meal here. Real authentic experience of Eritrean cuisine, with hosts who can share a lot of knowledge about this. Friendly service and special dietary requirements are taken into account. There are plenty of vegetarian and vegan dishes (originally in Eritrean cuisine). Definitely recommended!

Just had a delicious Injeri meal with my hands. The portions were perfect in terms of quantity. The flavors are fantastic and the service is even better. Extremely friendly and cheerful staff who prepare Ethiopian and Eritrean cuisine with pride, passion and in an authentic way. Also for a very nice price-quality ratio: We had a starter and dessert with 4 drinks and spent about €40 per person. I don't actually see that anywhere anymore. Recommended!!

Very nice people who carry the restaurant with their hearts. Tasty, organic and fresh Eritrean food. Great portion for the average person. We were able to taste every course. Delicious Eritrean beer! If you choose something homemade it's worth it. As a standard non-African dessert you get something simpler (duke ice cream and canned fruit). Still very tasty and not expensive. I think the atmosphere could have been a little more cozy, but I still had a wonderful evening!

The best Ethiopian Restaurant in the Flevopolder! Never tried Ethiopian food before and man, how delicious. The service was very good and friendly staff. The atmosphere was nice and chill. The coffee was so delicious, refreshing and flavorful. I also highly recommend the Alicha and the Kulwa Dorho which is my favorite and which for me is a 10/10. I just don't know if I want to go there again

We decided to come here and try this type of food. It turn out quite good and spice, which is something definitely important. We both ordered beef, one spicy (wasn't really spicy) and the other one mild, they tasted great with the Injera (kind of incredible thin tortilla to eat based on sorghum flour), as side dish we got some salad. The portion was perfect since we're not big eaters. We enjoyed it and wil come again to try out more dishes. Congratulations with your 5 years!

It is 4 p.m. when we, 8 ladies and 1 man, sit down at the table reserved for us. What is immediately noticeable is the wonderful smell and the colorful decor. We are welcomed by the nicest owner of this restaurant with East African cuisine. We are asked what we want to drink and I order an Eritrean tea with cardamom, cinnamon and cloves. The tea is delicious and the others also enjoy their appetizer. The menu offers 4 starters and 16 main courses, half of which are vegan and/or vegetarian and the other half chicken and beef. It is clearly indicated when a dish is spicy. I choose a vegetarian mix of fried onions, tomatoes and an Ethiopian Berbere sauce, lentils with garlic fried in tomato sauce and seasoned kale with onions and garlic. This is served with injera, a type of pancake from which small pieces are torn off to pick up the dish. It's all equally delicious and the service doesn't miss a beat either. In the meantime, the very nice daughter of the owner quickly serves the ordered drinks. The food was all tasty, the portions were generous and the price/quality ratio was excellent. African Ethiopian eatery, small but beautiful menu. Opted for the vegetarian dish. Exceeded expectations, 5 dishes on the platter, and you eat with a piece of some kind of pancake. If you are unable to do that, you can also ask for cutlery. ;-) And the service, so friendly!

We regularly try dishes from different corners of the world and this time we choose African. On January 5, 2024 we went to Seni in Almere and was received by a very friendly Eritrean lady. As a couple we opted for a small starter followed by a mix of delicious main courses. In addition, we decided not to eat with cutlery but, as it should be, to pick up each bite with a torn off piece of “pancake”. A nice experience but especially surprised by the delicious flavors. To enhance the experience, we also opted for Eritrean drinks. During the evening we got to know the hostess a little better. She is truly a treasure and proud of what she and her husband, who was busy in the kitchen, have achieved. We will definitely come back!
