As unassuming as the small restaurant appears from the outside, its cuisine is spectacular and impressive. Its signature style reveals a deep love for high-quality, fresh ingredients and a perfectly balanced umami flavor. Vegetarians will be in heaven. Highly recommended, and a rare find of this quality.

Slow service but cordial staff , food less spicy , ambience is nice

At 7:30 PM, we arrive at a half-empty restaurant, but are turned away because all the tables are "fully booked." He barely dares to look at us and doesn't even say goodbye. Online, we see there are still plenty of availability and we can even make a reservation for that time. A lie, then, because they're no longer interested...? Very unfriendly to turn away a heavily pregnant woman like that.

A nice Indian restaurant with excellent food. Not exactly high-end, but fine. Service is a bit slow, and people are walking around with their phones in hand. The food is well-seasoned. The dessert came from the freezer, and unfortunately, there wasn't another dessert. The kulfi was frozen solid and not very exciting for me, but that might be a personal thing. Nice, but I wouldn't necessarily go back.

I ordered for the first time and have to say the food is absolutely delicious! Very tasty, and I'll order again for sure. Highly recommended, and probably in the Scheveningen area, the best Indian restaurant you can find.

Wonderfully named, unique experience

We had made an online reservation for two people through Google. Upon arrival, we quickly realized our reservation hadn't been read yet. We were allowed to take a seat at the bar, and they started preparing our table. We saw a few tables still available (these were adjacent) and it said "reserved." They passed us with a folding garden table. We sensed something was brewing, but then two chairs appeared from behind, and sure enough, this was our table. We couldn't quite stretch out and were already wondering how all the food and drinks would fit on our table. Before our food arrived, two people at another table left. But instead of the restaurant owner saying, "You can move to another table," we had to ask for it ourselves. After we finished our two courses, two people came in, and the table that had been reserved for six all evening was suddenly split into two. 😅 And now for the icing on the cake... the entire restaurant was promoting a 25% discount! We heard people next to us raving about their discount and commented on this pleasant surprise. So we got excited. When we went to checkout, I didn't see a discount on our receipt, so I asked about it. It was a discount for people who booked through their own website 😂 so why promote it throughout the restaurant? It's all very unusual. Despite this experience, the food was sublime! We truly enjoyed the flavors!

What a fantastic restaurant. Friendly, helpful service and amazing food. We keep coming back! I wrote my previous review a year ago, and we've been there a few times already. We ate there again, this time with my husband and daughter. It's still fantastic, and I keep coming back. What delicious food! We ate here for the second time, and it was a real treat. Delicious food. We let the owner choose what he wanted to serve; we love being surprised at this restaurant. I'm already looking forward to the next time!

Delicious local Indian vegetarian dishes.

The ambiance is great, a very nice place. Unfortunately, we waited over 45 minutes for our drinks, only to find out that they didn't have one, even an alternative. Instead, we got sparkling water. 🤷‍♀️ By the way, we don't recommend the masala cola and lemon soda drinks. 🙈 The mango lassi was very tasty. The food arrived about 15 minutes after the drinks, but unfortunately, they were only lukewarm upon arrival. Tasted okay, but not a flavor explosion. 🤷‍♀️ Reservations required.

The food, well the best way to describe it is that the food is made for the Yoga set. It was not bad but very health conscious and mild.

It's a fantastic restaurant that we'd happily recommend. We reserved a table online without any problems! The service was excellent. The staff was very friendly. The restaurant is stylishly decorated. The food was very, very delicious. They only serve vegetarian dishes with varying degrees of spiciness. We really enjoyed it and would happily return. You can also dine outside.

Thank god for this restaurant! We spent a 8 days Moored up in the marina, ate out at most of the restaurants, The Yacht club and here were the only 2 places worth visiting. Amazing Paneer recipes here! Thank you :)

A little bit outside the central district, but worth the walk/tram/taxi. A full vegetarian Indian menu and it does not disappoint. Very, very fresh dishes made to order and a welcoming interior for a party of 4. Going back again next time I am in Den Haag.

I am giving 4 star only for the staff otherwise food was terrible..been there twice and both the times the wait time for food was probably 20 mins or more..roti/naan were terrible..portion size of the sabji is extremely less. I think its for only 1 person..chana masala that we ordered felt like i am eating mess ka tiffin. The seating space was nice. But considering the price on their menu, its definitely not worth going for Indians at least.

Nice cozy fine dining. I would recommend for a couple. Food: We have tried hara bara kebab and vada pav. I would strongly recommend the hara bara kebab. It very tasty, we get 5 pieces. We love Indian food and are regular visitors of Indian restaurants. This restaurant’s food was okay leaning towards good. When we visited last year in May it was definitely better. Service was really bad (this time). We arrived at 5.30 pm, order was taken 20 minutes later, starters arrived at 6.50 pm, no apologies whatsoever. And - there were just two other parties of two each that had ordered before us. The waitress serving our table was obviously new and couldn’t answer whether the curries were served with rice. So we ordered riced and garlic naan. The naan was only served when I was already finished with my main course. In between no stopping by our table to ask whether we wanted another round of drinks and that even though the place wasn’t busy, with two waiters for the small restaurant.

Wonderful food and excellent homemade hot and cold drinks! We'll be back!

Very nice atmosphere. Really enjoyed the food.

The food is delicious! Lots of vegan options. We only needed a main course, rice, and naan bread. Unfortunately, the food takes a long time to arrive, and the waitresses didn't regularly check on us to see if we needed any drinks or snacks. The restaurant is nicely decorated. Later in the evening, the bright white lights came on, quickly dampening the atmosphere. The day was warm, and so was the interior of the restaurant. This was difficult for the elderly at the table.

A very good restaurant. You don't miss the meat at all! And the cocktails were delicious too.

As a vegetarian I only eat at fully vegetarian and vegan restaurants. So glad I discovered this one. Delicious food and friendly staff. I have eaten there several times, taken away a few times and had it delivered once or twice. Can't think of a time I didn't enjoy the food. Have tried many of the dishes, I prefer the spicier ones, but that's a matter of taste. I definitely recommend this restaurant!

We walked past here by chance. The look of the restaurant and the mention of vegan food appealed to us. Actually, Indian food is not one of our food favorites. But we were disabused. The Anaya has excellent cuisine. We had a mixed platter on our first visit and got a great insight into Indian cuisine. Everything was super tasty and surprisingly tasty. The service is extremely friendly and accommodating. You get a great explanation of everything you eat and, on our second visit, a tip about what we should try. The interior is cozy and stylish, very nice. If we didn't live so far away, we would come here more often.

Very good Indian restaurant. Vegetarian only. I love meat, but Anaya convinces me vegetarian indian is also great. Wide range of cocktails, mocktails and wine selection as well. The Indian food is their pride. From street food style like vada pav, pav bhaji, and the amazing Dabeli to main course with soya, paneer, daal Anaya delivers one of the most authentic Indian food experience.

Okay…rarely i come across Indian restaurants in Netherlands who are truly Indian. Most of the times the food is not even barely Indian. Now Anaya foods ticked all my boxes. The food was delicious. I loved everything except the gulab jaamun. It could have been tastier and softer. May be they listen to my review and change it. Am from lucknow and very emotional about food. Best part was the food was spicy and yet did not irritate my taste buds and throat. They say that best way to judge food is that the spices should not burn you. However one thing which turned me off a bit was the 2 euro extra for the spices. Welllll guys Isnt it the whole point of eating Indian food ? Spices ? Why charge extra ? Never ever have i seen this. But never mind..i wont spoil it for them. Overall must visit. Close to the beach…so you can start with a day on the beach…get super hungry and then walk to this place to enjoy truly authentic food..

Delicious food at a fair price and good vegan selection. Very nice staff and we were allowed to take our dog with us upon request.

The food is very nice but the portion sizes are smaller than what I had in other places. Veg Manchow soup is great. We order malai kofta and kadar mushroom which we found very good but the latter was great. Desert portions are rather small as well. Ras malai and gulab jamun which the latter one was better.

We were charged € 6,95 for Gulab Jamun, which would have been great, but the desert the size of 2 small cherries! We assumed it was just a taster, to see if we liked it? One of the tiny balls was scalding hot, the other cold. When the miniature portion was queried on the bill, we were told that making them was a lot of work!?

Ordered the gol gappe, navratan korma, and chhole bhature (forgot to take a photo of this one). Everything was so delicious! The navratan korma was sweet, comforting, but you could also taste a blend of other ingredients like onion and some herbs—the combination was amazing. The navratan korma also already came with complimentary rice. The staff were also friendly, and I think this is definitely worth the price you’re paying. I’d say one thing they could improve is the speed they serve the main dishes, but I also didn’t really mind the wait because the meals came out great. Would definitely re-visit! ❤️ I’m looking forward to trying more of their food.

I ordered chat and a Thali. It was sooo good. I am going back there again today to try out other stuff. The taste was better than a good number of places in India.

Oh what a delicious meal we had and the service was so warm and friendly. If I could say one thing, the light could be a little less bright. But that's a wimp talking. For the rest it is really great in terms of food and service.

Had excellent dinner, very friendly service too

We went to the restaurant with a big group of people. The interiors were really modern . The music choice of the restaurant was pathetic sad lofi songs which were killing the vibe. There is construction going on outside little difficult to park car and get the parking and then you have to walk a little. Food was okayish not that great just the starters were good. We ordered papadi chaat, starter platter and they were good. Then main course indo-chinese and street food- veg schezwan noodles, schzewan fried rice, chole bhature, gobhi 65, chilli panner and fried rice. Just gobhi 65 was good other than that everything was bland and we had to ask for extra schezwan and salt. Dessert we ordered kesar kulfi, falooda kulfi and for a kid mango kulfi. Keaar kulfi was best and everything else was okayish. As kids kulfi was too tight for the kid to enjoy the flavour and falooda felt like microgreens in sweet.

Fantastic Indian food, the thali was the best I had outside India. Their mango lassi is really good too. The staff are friendly and take the time to explain what each dish is, which is a huge plus. I liked the atmosphere, it's vibrant but tasteful. It's not the cheapest restaurant but well worth trying.

Overall a decent place to eat 4.25/5 Ambiance : intimate and easy on eyes with good sitting arrangements, right outside the tram stop so commute is easy. Service: decent Food: taste was good, had pav bhaji and liked the taste. Price: Its expensive, definitely if you consider portion size So if you want a cozy comfortable place when around the pier , can go. Note: They do not currently offer tap water due to some construction work going around.

The Indian dishes are especially tasty, but could use a little more flavor and a little more salt. The Indian Chinese dishes could be more authentic and more flavourful, like in restaurants in India.

This is my favorite restaurant in The Hague, offering authentic dishes that transport you straight to India. Every visit to Anaya Foods delights all your senses… The best (indian) restaurant in the city! It's a fantastic experience, from the friendly yet professional service to the delicious food and the inviting ambiance.

Enjoyed a family lunch, very nice ambience and owners were friendly and accommodating. All the dishes were very authentic using fresh ingredients and traditional spices. Many snack items and chutneys as well as filling curries and breads. Price is a little on the expensive side but for the extra quality of meal it is worth the little extra investment. Overall one of the best restaurants for authentic Indian flavours in the Hague. Look forward to a return meal in the near future. Thanks for the hospitality. Food would be a 4.7 but can only give a round score, therefore 5.

The food at this restaurant was absolutely great! Our visit to the Scheveningen beach(please don't ask me to pronounce that :)) was cut short due to rain. We looked for an Indian restaurant, and were shocked to see a vegetarian restaurant in Netherlands. We went there around 4PM but it was still half full. We ate Dabeli, Vada Paun, Pav Bhaji and Faluda. Everything was super tasty. I will probably fly to Amsterdam just to eat that Pav Bhaji again. Really, it was that good. We had a pleasure to meet the owner, who is really nice. I see a Michelin star in her future. The server was a very nice man helping with the order etc. (I am not related to this establishment at all).
