Very good Indian restaurant. Vegetarian only. I love meat, but Anaya convinces me vegetarian indian is also great. Wide range of cocktails, mocktails and wine selection as well. The Indian food is their pride. From street food style like vada pav, pav bhaji, and the amazing Dabeli to main course with soya, paneer, daal Anaya delivers one of the most authentic Indian food experience.

We have ordered Malai Soya chaap, Panner Jalfrezi, Garlic Naan, Faluda Kulfi, masala coke. Everything was so good. Atmosphere was very good with hindi songs giving full Indian vibes. It made my birthday, choice of my goobs.

Okay…rarely i come across Indian restaurants in Netherlands who are truly Indian. Most of the times the food is not even barely Indian. Now Anaya foods ticked all my boxes. The food was delicious. I loved everything except the gulab jaamun. It could have been tastier and softer. May be they listen to my review and change it. Am from lucknow and very emotional about food. Best part was the food was spicy and yet did not irritate my taste buds and throat. They say that best way to judge food is that the spices should not burn you. However one thing which turned me off a bit was the 2 euro extra for the spices. Welllll guys Isnt it the whole point of eating Indian food ? Spices ? Why charge extra ? Never ever have i seen this. But never mind..i wont spoil it for them. Overall must visit. Close to the beach…so you can start with a day on the beach…get super hungry and then walk to this place to enjoy truly authentic food..

Delicious food at a fair price and good vegan selection. Very nice staff and we were allowed to take our dog with us upon request.

The food is very nice but the portion sizes are smaller than what I had in other places. Veg Manchow soup is great. We order malai kofta and kadar mushroom which we found very good but the latter was great. Desert portions are rather small as well. Ras malai and gulab jamun which the latter one was better.

We were charged € 6,95 for Gulab Jamun, which would have been great, but the desert the size of 2 small cherries! We assumed it was just a taster, to see if we liked it? One of the tiny balls was scalding hot, the other cold. When the miniature portion was queried on the bill, we were told that making them was a lot of work!?

Ordered the gol gappe, navratan korma, and chhole bhature (forgot to take a photo of this one). Everything was so delicious! The navratan korma was sweet, comforting, but you could also taste a blend of other ingredients like onion and some herbs—the combination was amazing. The navratan korma also already came with complimentary rice. The staff were also friendly, and I think this is definitely worth the price you’re paying. I’d say one thing they could improve is the speed they serve the main dishes, but I also didn’t really mind the wait because the meals came out great. Would definitely re-visit! ❤️ I’m looking forward to trying more of their food.

I ordered chat and a Thali. It was sooo good. I am going back there again today to try out other stuff. The taste was better than a good number of places in India.

Oh what a delicious meal we had and the service was so warm and friendly. If I could say one thing, the light could be a little less bright. But that's a wimp talking. For the rest it is really great in terms of food and service.

We went to the restaurant with a big group of people. The interiors were really modern . The music choice of the restaurant was pathetic sad lofi songs which were killing the vibe. There is construction going on outside little difficult to park car and get the parking and then you have to walk a little. Food was okayish not that great just the starters were good. We ordered papadi chaat, starter platter and they were good. Then main course indo-chinese and street food- veg schezwan noodles, schzewan fried rice, chole bhature, gobhi 65, chilli panner and fried rice. Just gobhi 65 was good other than that everything was bland and we had to ask for extra schezwan and salt. Dessert we ordered kesar kulfi, falooda kulfi and for a kid mango kulfi. Keaar kulfi was best and everything else was okayish. As kids kulfi was too tight for the kid to enjoy the flavour and falooda felt like microgreens in sweet.

Fantastic Indian food, the thali was the best I had outside India. Their mango lassi is really good too. The staff are friendly and take the time to explain what each dish is, which is a huge plus. I liked the atmosphere, it's vibrant but tasteful. It's not the cheapest restaurant but well worth trying.

Overall a decent place to eat 4.25/5 Ambiance : intimate and easy on eyes with good sitting arrangements, right outside the tram stop so commute is easy. Service: decent Food: taste was good, had pav bhaji and liked the taste. Price: Its expensive, definitely if you consider portion size So if you want a cozy comfortable place when around the pier , can go. Note: They do not currently offer tap water due to some construction work going around.

The Indian dishes are especially tasty, but could use a little more flavor and a little more salt. The Indian Chinese dishes could be more authentic and more flavourful, like in restaurants in India.

A small, beautiful restaurant that was only brought to our attention thanks to a large poster on the sidewalk. It was so worth it, nice service, super homemade Indian food and an all-round successful stay in the restaurant.

Enjoyed a family lunch, very nice ambience and owners were friendly and accommodating. All the dishes were very authentic using fresh ingredients and traditional spices. Many snack items and chutneys as well as filling curries and breads. Price is a little on the expensive side but for the extra quality of meal it is worth the little extra investment. Overall one of the best restaurants for authentic Indian flavours in the Hague. Look forward to a return meal in the near future. Thanks for the hospitality. Food would be a 4.7 but can only give a round score, therefore 5.

The food at this restaurant was absolutely great! Our visit to the Scheveningen beach(please don't ask me to pronounce that :)) was cut short due to rain. We looked for an Indian restaurant, and were shocked to see a vegetarian restaurant in Netherlands. We went there around 4PM but it was still half full. We ate Dabeli, Vada Paun, Pav Bhaji and Faluda. Everything was super tasty. I will probably fly to Amsterdam just to eat that Pav Bhaji again. Really, it was that good. We had a pleasure to meet the owner, who is really nice. I see a Michelin star in her future. The server was a very nice man helping with the order etc. (I am not related to this establishment at all).

The best Indian food I’ve had out of India. I’ve never had such authentic dal! Service is a bit slow but the food compensates for it. I highly recommend the paneer jalfrezi, dal tadka. Also the garlic naan was super soft! Must visit!

I have to say the food is really well done and well seasoned. However, when ordering a mixed choice of curries and bread and rice for 33€ and getting the confirmation that it will be enough for 2 people, one might assume that this mixed platter includes more than 4 tiny pieces roti and 5 small cups of curry and such. After asking for more bread, the bread was added to the bill for an astonishing 4€, which is, in my opinion, not at all usual for an Indian restaurant. The portion of rice was also barely enough for one person. Sometimes a high google rating doesn't mean that much.

I was looking for an Indian restaurant and decided to give it a try. The food is amazingly good as well as the service and ambience. You can expect authentic Indian taste. Was worth visiting !!!!!

We are not vegetarian, but because of all the positive reviews and the fact that it is full every day, we still wanted to try it. We are certainly not disappointed! It was incredibly tasty. The paneer had a meaty texture and good taste. I didn't miss the meat. The restaurant is not large but very cozy and nicely decorated. The staff is very friendly. We will definitely come back again!!

We chose the Thali, which is the equivalent of a rijsttafel (a bit of everything). This is a great place and the service is excellent. I would recommend booking in advance as it can be busy.

So. Have ordered 3x and can honestly say, it’s one of the better places to eat!! Why? 1. Food flavours are more homely and not very “restaurant-like” 2. Spice levels are really nice!! Not the fake spices and masalas that’s common in Indian restaurants here in The Hague. 3. Except for dahi vadas, most other yoghurt types do not have sugar in them. Most places will have old yoghurt and to make it appear fresh and not sour, other places put kilos of sugar in all yoghurt types. Here not. Nicely salty, and savoury flavours!!

Ate here last week with friends. Food is great and the menu is more authentic than typical Dutch Indian restaurants. It is run by very friendly Indian staff. Great choice for vegetarians. Special recommendation: Soya chaap!

I visited the place after it popped on the my radar recently. It's good a great Indian food something I can vouch for as an Indian. It's a pure vegetarian restaurant so something many Indian look for. I was surprised with their range of Soja based products I haven't seen that in places outside India. So I loved it a lot.

Poor service, average bland food, unhygienic seats full of hair and food crumbs. Above all you might be waiting forever for getting a menu, to order or even to get it on the table. they even served us without a serving spoon. You might end up asking for everything as they would not care to ask their guests or apologise . Quite disappointed as they used to have quite a good reputation when they used to deliver food before opening the restaurant. Now its only meant to serve a “certain” population with bland food. Similar restaurants in Amsterdam opened by new generation Indians differentiate from old indian curry houses by serving authentic indian food and they serve their guests really well. Now this one is not one of them and it is mimicking typical indian restaurants where Indians don’t go.Anyone looking for authentic Indian food or good service, please stay away.

Heel vrindelijke personeel. Wordt snel geholpen. De starters platter was heerlijk maar thali, chole bhature en shezwan noodles waren er groot teleurstelling. Zelf ben ik uit Delhi en daar chole bhature wordt echt veel gegeten daardoor had ik mss hoge verwachtingen die niet waar zijn gekomen

Nog een keer gegeten, nu met man en dochter. Blijft fantastisch, ik blijf terug komen, wat een heerlijk eten Voor de tweede keer gegeten, wat een feestje. Heerlijk eten. We hebben de eigenaar laten kiezen wat hij ons wilde voorzetten, wij laten ons graag verrassen in dit restaurant. Ik verheug me nu al op de volgende keer!

Heerlijk gegeten bij Anaya Foods in Scheveningen! Paneer gerecht was heerlijk! Biryani was goed op smaak! Mocht wel wat meer groenten in maar was verder ook lekker op deze wijze. Raita was heel goed van smaak en combineert perfect met paneer en biryani. Garlic naan was zacht, krokant en had voldoende smaak. Masala chai was vers en lekker kruidig! Interieur / design zag er strak en modern uit! Tips: zorgen voor voldoende personeel. Wachten op drankjes duurde lang. Geef ook meteen messen bij het bestek, nu was het eten al een beetje afgekoeld voordat we konden vragen naar een mes en het kregen. Uniformiteit in kleding van personeel geeft ook een mooie en professionele uitstraling en tot slot zou een gesprek / vragen hoe het eten is / hospitaliteit / betrokkenheid en een lach een groot verschil maken! Het positief gevoel blijft dan meer bij. Dit zijn allemaal kleine tips. Het eten en de ambiance was super! Wij kijken uit naar de volgende keer en hopen op een nog positievere beleving!

Ontzettend fijn dat er nu ook een puur vegetarisch restaurant bestaat met authentieke Noord-Indiase gerechten. We misten zo'n soort restaurant al sinds lange tijd. De gerechten waren heerlijk. Groot en klein heeft bij ons genoten van de traditionele lekkere gerechten. De sfeer was erg gezellig en inrichting heel mooi. Uiterst vriendelijk personeel. You won't be disappointed at Anaya foods! The most authentic taste of India, especially when it comes to starters such as manchurian or chats. The taste always reminds us of the food back home in India. The ingredients are of exceptionally high quality and the presentation of the dishes is just as good as the taste. The waiter and the owner are extremely patient and were attending the tables promptly taking into account all the customisations of food and feedback very positively which is quiet rare. Overall we have had a great experience and we would definitely come back. Thanks to the chef for creating a well curated starter and chat menu with an authentic Indian taste!

Best in town! Het eten was echt heerlijk en je kan proeven dat alles elke dag vers bereid word. We hadden verschillende gerechten besteld en echt alles was lekker. Aanrader!

Evening well spent with our family 2 adults and 2 kids. Exceptional food, impeccable service, and a warm atmosphere. The best part was the kids who enjoyed the soya chaap starter and mango lassi, super. We walked in but thankfully was adjusted after a while so really appreciate that. Please read entirely. I had called this place around 7pm on Saturday to book a table for 2 adults and 1 toddler, they had said they were full till 8:00/8:30. We arrived around 7:45 just to see that they had only 2 tables with guests and all other tables were empty. It made me wonder. Anyhow, we were seated. The ambiance is wonderful, very neat, nicely decorated, artistically set up. Just that their exhausted tube was very visible as the only drawback to the interior. We were soon attended and our order was received. Their food was very well presented, yummy and perfect for a rainy day. In a couple of minutes they had asked me to stop my toddler from making noise. Firstly, my toddler did not leave my table to disturb two other guest in the restaurant, also he was well engaged in his food. We did not hear him make Loud unpurposeful noise. This made me wonder too. In conclusion, it felt like there are not open for family with young kids because they want to remain "classic" I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a couple or a small group of ppl and surely not a family crowd because they don't seem to be welcoming. Overall, good food, lacking warmth.

The only word which is describing the quality, the passion and the flavors of the food is the Japanese word UMAMI! Best food we had since a while! Definitely the most authentic and flavorful Indian food! Go there, ask for recommendations and enjoy well prepared fresh food and if you like a cocktail. :-) Something I will for always remember are 2 phrases: 1. “We are cooking everything from stretch and fresh!” We saw it live sitting at the bar and yes this is what they do with passion. 2. “We only serve what we would eat ourselves.” If all restaurants would follow this simple 2 rules restaurant quality would increase a lot. It was a pleasure to experience what you love and do in the kitchen! Put the new dish on the menu as well, because it was yummy as well to and we were honored to get the new dish for testing. Keep on doing great food! If we will be at some point back in Den Haag we will come for sure!

I had very high hopes since I love Indian food, have been to India many times. When we came in it was quite empty but we weren't received by anyone. There were 2 officers in the building talking to the staff so perhaps something happened just before. We walked up to the counter and actually had to start the conversation with them. We sat down, there was no place to hang our coats, and since I was on the couch and had a really thick wintercoat it was in the way. The guy gave us the menu without taking a drinks order, even though we wanted to order drinks. Now we had to wait about 15 minutes before he took the order and 25 minutes before our drinks arrived at the table, even though there were only 3 other tables. Allthough I thought the decoration was beautiful and the restaurant really well done, we also noticed the lights inside to be extremely bright, all in white led. It was so bright I got a headache towards the end of the dinner (I have mild photophobia). I found the portion sizes to be very small. I'm a big eater and was still hungry at the end, but my friend who isn't a big eater at all was also still hungry at the end, even though we had starters, mains with sides and deserts. The starter was a bit dissapointing. One dish was served on a white bun you buy in the supermarket and on a coffee plate. The other dish, hara bhara kabab, was very very spicy, which wasn't advertised anywhere. I found the flavour of the food to be lacking as well. The paneer that my friend ordered had no particular flavour, it was bland. My mushroom "curry" tasted strange, and since me and my friend both got sick that night and the next day we think there was something wrong with the products here. We send an email to the restaurant to notify them of us getting sick but we never received a reply. My mushroom curry also contained big chunks of onion and pepper. I think this type of food, where flavour is such a big part, should never have tablespoon size chunks of vegetables, this should be diced finely to get a little bit of all the flavours in one spoon, not just a whole spoon full of bell pepper. Considering we paid almost 50 euro's p/p without drinking alcohol I expected a lot more. It litterally left a sour taste in my mouth. I do want to say that the waiter was very patient and a joy to have at our table, for us it was the kitchen that was lacking.
