Great upscale ambiance, outstanding food, excellent service. M. Shifas took great care of us on our visit. Came because local friend said it was her favorite Indian spot in town!

The food was really good, even though I went for the butter chicken it still ended up being slightly spicy which I loved. The service was lovely, they asked if I wanted to try the drink before ordering the full glass in case I didn’t like it.

We had the Indian Brunch today. The food was incredibly delicious and the selection was huge. If something ran out and you ordered more, it was quickly replenished. The staff was fantastic, especially Shifas. Thanks for the wonderful experience.

The food was truly awful. The taste was terrible. The service was incredibly rude. We had to wait a while for a table, but we were asked to stand in a corner. The guy who helped us didn't speak Dutch, which was annoying. And his English wasn't good enough.

Great restaurant in the city centre of the Hague, walking distance from Den Haag Centraal station. When we entered it was already busy, which we thought was a good sign. We really enjoyed the starters, which were served quite quickly even though it was busy. We had a mix of vegan and non vegan mains. We preferred the chicken and lamb that we had, though the kidney beans and eggplant were good too. A few highlights were the pani puri, which was very flavourful and beautifully presented and the amazing Indian Whisky they had. I didn't know India had such a great selection of Whisky. From the moment we walked in we were impressed by the beautiful interior – warm, inviting and full of character. The service was excellent: a very friendly young man called Shifaz (hope I got the spelling right) made us feel very welcome, especially with the children who were greeted with extra kindness. The food was absolutely fantastic – truly authentic Indian dishes you don’t always find in the standard menu, and the portions were generous. Everything about the evening felt comfortable and special. We left feeling very happy and will definitely be back!

Food was pretty good. But service was somewhat lacking with long wait times even for drinks. Food took about an hour and a bit to arrive. Atmosphere was nice but it was way to warm in the restaurant. Overall, pretty decent but if you go, go during quiet times so you don't have to wait so long.

Excellent food and service. Beware the chicken kadhaiwala is quite spicy (marked as 🌶️ on the menu) and they kindly gave us some yoghurt to help. The naan was excellent too.

Highly understaffed, and the food quality was poor with not many vegetarian options. I ordered a paneer dish where the paneer was undercooked, and the curry's masalas tasted quite unusual. Certainly not a place where you can experience authentic Indian food.

We had an awful experience at this restaurant. Shortly after eating, three of us started feeling unwell, and our 4-year-old vomited several times inside the restaurant and later again at home. That’s completely unacceptable and raises serious doubts about their food hygiene and safety standards. On top of that, the staff refused to serve tap water and forced us to buy overpriced bottled water. They even charged extra for packing the leftovers, which is ridiculous considering we had already paid for the food. Overall, poor hygiene, greedy policies. Would never recommend this place to anyone.

We had a delicious meal and the service was excellent and friendly. Unfortunately, a table for two is very small, so we had to squeeze in a bit. The interior is a bit cramped, but still good.

I visited twice recently, and both times the atmosphere was very pleasant and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was outstanding. Shifaz and Abel were very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, making great recommendations. I also appreciated that the chef checked in regularly to ensure everything was perfect. At Athiti, the food was delicious and the service was good. The atmosphere was a bit lacking, and the price was a bit higher because rice wasn't included with the curry, as is often the case at other Indian restaurants. The lamb curry was also delicious, but the mango lassi took the longest to arrive. All in all, a great experience at Athiti.

The restaurant can be highly recommended for quality of food and customer service. Special mention to Shifas for his cordial support.

Edit review - Sept 2025 We had initially visited this restaurant some time ago and found the food to be really good – full marks for taste and variety. The ambience and music were also pleasant. However, even during that visit, we noticed that the staff was not very customer-friendly, with one person behaving arrogantly and questioning us about not having a reservation. At that time, we felt it was a one-off and still gave the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, our recent visit was a complete disappointment. The service was downright pathetic – we had to wait for over an hour after placing our order, while other tables that ordered later were served ahead of us. What was even worse was the complete lack of communication; no one informed us that the food would be delayed. Our order was not even something elaborate that should have taken extra time. When we raised this with the staff, the so-called responsible person was shockingly rude. Instead of apologizing or offering a solution, he arrogantly suggested that we cancel our food after making us wait for an hour! This is simply unacceptable and shows a total lack of basic customer service, let alone hospitality. While the food may be decent, the arrogance and unprofessional attitude of the staff overshadow everything. Restaurants run on customer satisfaction, and this place clearly does not value its customers. Highly disappointing experience – not recommended unless they make serious improvements in their service and staff behavior. Owner should take serious note and improve customer experience.!! ************************************** Last review - July 2025 Found good indian restaurant and offering variety of options. We enjoyed the food and full marks for taste. Ambience was good, music was good too. The person taking order was observed to be a arrogant as not cooperative and kind asking why came without reservation. At times it's happen right? But it was customer centric behavior. For sure can be improved better. One star less for that only.
