We drive an hour each way to eat at Ap Halen. We love the food there so much! It takes me back to birthdays in my Indonesian family. What you were going to eat was a surprise, but it would be delicious, that was for sure. This is exactly what eating at Ap Halen entails. Owners Albert and Marjolein cook 50 portions with whatever ingredients were bought that day. Always fresh, always delicious, and when they're gone, they're gone. An Indonesian takeaway with a difference: step inside and you're in a living room. On the left is a sofa with a coffee table, on the right a few chairs, and a dining table. People who come from far away are welcome to sit at the dining table and eat there. Naturally, there's also a counter, with a kitchen behind it that could be in a regular house. A cozy environment where everyone seems to feel at home. Open on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. On Saturdays, their "frikadel pan sandwich" is sold from the bridge keeper's house a little further down the road. Delicious Indonesian food: what more could you ask for?

The meal we had had mackerel beans and some coconut thing that was amazing. I am South Indian and honestly it tasted like something my mum would make. One of my favourite meals in Rotterdam. The medium is quite big.

What a gem. The owners are so kind and friendly. I felt like I was in their home! There was only one dish and a delicious coconut dessert. It was my first time trying Indonesian food and it was incredible. Thank you!

Small-scale neighborhood living room takeaway restaurant with delicious authentic Indonesian dishes. Limited offer, for a limited time, but those who know it are happy to queue up for it. A mood maker in the neighborhood that absolutely meets the needs of locals.

Dit is een afhaal restaurant waar ook wel gelegenheid is om aan een tafeltje te eten of in het knusse bankje met bord op schoot. Op vrijdag is er altijd iets met vis. Het is eten wat de pot schaft en altijd iets anders. Zeer smakelijk op Indonesische wijze gekookt. Knus restaurant en de 2 eigenaren Albert en Marjolein zijn super lieve aardige mensen. Je moet hier echt een eten gaan halen dan word je een vaste klant zoals vele andere. Jan en Ria.

My friend and I were looking for authentic Indonesian food while travelling and this place checked all our boxes. Run by a lovely couple who make the food fresh every day. As someone with some Indonesian background, I can say for sure that this was authentic. Very tasty. Reasonable price. Great people and community that they bring together. Would highly recommend.

Eating what you can get, no menu, but with fresh ingredients and lots of lovingly cooked Indian dishes. Pick up, especially now in Corona times. Eating with a maximum of 2 people at the table, where everyone could join before Corona. The owner/cook and his wife are always available for a nice chat. The decor and the smell of the food make you feel like you are visiting your Indian grandmother.

Wonderful local Dutch-Indonesian restaurant, located in Delfshaven. Lovely owners, Albert and Marjolein, exceptional friendly and welcoming. Had a great chat about the history of the restaurant as well as the heritage of the cuisine. Cosy setting with one table and one sofa. Lots of locals and old friends who’ve become regulars over the past 12 years since the restaurant’s inception. Delicious and authentic food. A must for when you’re in Delfshaven and Rotterdam.

Definitely recommended! The food is always of good quality and very tasty. Not expensive for what you get. Be on time because they only cook 50 portions per day.

What a great place. Let me start with the food, because that's what I came for in the first place: That was great! The concept is “food from scratch” where you get a little bit of everything - wonderful, because I'm bad at choosing and would prefer to try everything. And how delicious that was! You can really taste the love, the flavors were beautiful. But what I remember most is the beautiful people inside - on the walls and in the cupboards there is a lot to read and learn about Indian culture. We were warmly welcomed, with genuine interest in who these two (still) unknown faces are who walked through the door for the first time... It is almost as if you are standing in the kitchen of someone at home! While there are plenty of places in the city where you can eat something tasty, there are few places that do what food can do so beautifully: bringing people together, learning from each other and enjoying food made with love. And this feeling dripped from the walls at Ap Halen! The price was also good, a full bowl for 13.50 can fill your stomach with two people. In short, delicious food, hospitable atmosphere, a beautiful concept in a cozy kitchen with nice people = ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I will be back very soon!

Heerlijk eten en bij kletsen bij dit gezellige plekje

Maaltijden afgehaald voor een grote groep van 10 mensen. We kregen grote porties en nog belangrijker: het eten was echt top. Wij hadden een lekker pittig tomatengerecht en daarbij indonesische gehaktballen. Wij en onze familie hebben erg genoten van het eten, complimenten! Wij komen zeker nog eens terug voor jullie beroemde broodje ;)

Vandaag weer tot de conclusie gekomen dat ik te lang niet bij Ap Halen geweest ben. Haal alleen Indisch af als ik geen zin heb het zelf te maken. Bij Ap Halen zit je altijd goed, ik kan het niet beter. Heerlijk gegeten, smaken van mijn jeugd. Top!

Seriously one of the best restaurant experiences I've ever had! I walked around the area and got hungry so I searched for a restaurant that was still open on Google maps. When I saw that there's an Indonesian restaurant a few minutes walk away from me I just had to go there and I don't regret it at all!! It's a very cute and small restaurant with a cozy atmosphere. There was basically one single dish everyone could order in three different sizes, different drinks (also Bir Pletok) and a dessert. Not just the food was super delicious and filling but I really felt like I visited my friend's house to casually talk and eat together 😍 Everyone was so nice and open minded, it's really awesome! Thank you so much for the nice memory and the delicious food! 💜

Geen afhaal recensie want daar weten we al van dat het geweldig is . Dit is een bier recensie voor het ap halen bok bir pletok van vet & Lazy Een prachtige donker diep rood/bruine kleur, troebel met een mooi vol schuim. Zoete Geuren van gember, citroengras en kardemon springen er uit . De eerste slok, een zoete start waarin de kruidige tonen volledig terug komen een vol en stevig mondgevoel als of je een kruid koek eet. Afdronk met een mooie bittere hop smaak en de scherpte van gember. Een prachtig herfst/winter bier waar je het warm van krijgt goed in balans, met liefde en zorg bereid.

Het meest gastvrije Indische (afhaal) restaurant welke we ooit zijn tegengekomen! Indisch eten zoals de echte kenners het zullen herkennen. Albert en zijn vrouw zijn echt top!

Indisch eten wat de pot schaft. Iedere keer weer anders en altijd goed, het enige dat je hoeft te bedenken is hoe groot je portie moet zijn. Als de wingko of wadjik nog op de toonbank staan sowieso een stukje meenemen!

Bijzonder lekker, leuk en gezellig. Stevige porties. Aangenaam onvoorspelbaar. Klasse.

De Google reviews liegen niet. Spotgoedkoop overheerlijk eten en schitterende uitbaters! Wij zijn fan! 😘

Het is dat wij gaan verhuizen, anders waren wij hier standaard elke dinsdag (+ soms vrijdag voor vis!) te vinden. Niet alleen omdat het eten ontzettend lekker is, maar ook om de lieve, eerlijke maar vooral mooie mensen die hier staan ❤️. Ap Halen heeft onze tijd in Schiedam/Rotterdam heel veel leuke herinneringen gegeven. Het meest speciale vind ik dat iedereen hier welkom is om een ‘tripje’ Java te beleven, want zo proeft de sfeer én het eten!

Vandaag een Nasi Ranes gegeten. Het is een goedkope maaltijd, maar als je vergelijkt wat je krijgt bij andere aanbieders die zeg 4 euro duurder zijn, is AP heel matig. Absoluut goed van smaak wat ik vandaag heb gegeten, maar ook een zielig bordje met 2 sperciebonen en 3 stukjes tempeh wat Sajoer Lodeh moest voorstellen. Er zat wat sambal goreng tempeh bij, die verziekt was doordat er veel ketjap over was gegoten en daardoor ook nog een deel van mijn toch al zielig beetje rijst verziekte. En dat voor wat een middelgrote maaltijd moet voorstellen. Ik had er denk ik al minstens 5 jaar geleden iets gehaald en was woest. omdat bij thuiskomst het bakje eten 1 smurrie was. Door de recencies toch maar weer geprobeerd, maar wat mij betreft niet voor herhaling vatbaar.

Op verzoek van een collega hier eten afgehaald. Ik heb heerlijk gegeten en ik kom ook zeker weer een keer terug. De sfeer is heel relaxed en het personeel is super hartelijk.

Hier zijn de bekende TokoTopTien gerechten niet verkrijgbaar. Geen rijsttafels, geen nasi, bami. Hier kan men Halen wat Ap schaft en dat is eigenwijs lekker! Elke avond een 'limited edition' van zelf gekozen, zelf gemaakt recepten Op=Op dus moeten we snel wezen. Er is een tafeltje voor een klein aantal mensen die kunnen blijven eten als er een plekje vrij is, verder is het gewoon de bedoeling om het lekkere Ap te Halen!
