Heerlijk ontbijt en koffie. Niet alleen lekker maar ook prachtig opgemaakte bordjes. Bediening heel gezellig en snel.

'Vegetarian' dishes have parmesan in them. Parmesan is not vegetarian. Why not use local old cheese? More sustainable and less confusing. Luckily there are also vegan options available

Nice and cozy place for brunch. We ordered Turkish eggs, pandan pancakes and a hangover breakfast. Everything was great, highly recommended! And not expensive at all!

Planning and logistics areas for improvement Arrived at 1230 on Thursday. Order drinks and lunch. Looking forward to it! Reserved a table for 12 pax next to us. Number of occupied tables, whether or not served with drinks/lunch. See plates (half) prepared in the kitchen (which later turns out to be for the 12p table). 2 women in the kitchen and 1 in service. About 1310 hours the 12p arrive and sit down to the table. The order was placed in advance (! good one!) and will be served after the drinks have been taken. (Too?) A small staff that unfortunately did not manage to serve our lunch. After almost 1 hour (asked a few times) we unfortunately left without lunch.

What a nice place with finally different lunch dishes than the ones you see everywhere. This was surprising and incredibly tasty. I had Arabic, my mother Italian and my father the pita panko vadouan cauliflower. Yummie!

The space is cozy, with beautiful decor. I didn't find the food anything special. The prices are good and the service too.

I had a wonderful time reading Leo Tolstoy-Anna Karenina here, outside on the terrace, with the sun beating down on me, at the end of October, really chill and nice. Service is very good, attentive and cheerful, and food and drinks are very tasty. Definitely recommended.

I come here almost every day and have now become addicted to the cappuccino. Which is half the price on workdays before half past nine in the morning. Good atmosphere and the house dog always comes to say hello for a pat on the head.

I have been coming to Appeltje Eitje almost every week for years. The waffle is my favorite, but the other meals are also delicious. The atmosphere is nice, you can sit inside or outside. Service is pleasant, nice people. And a sweet dog. There was always a cat walking around, but I haven't seen it in a while.

I have loved coming to Appeltje Eitje for years! The coffee is delicious and the meals are varied, nutritious and surprising! Today I ate something new from the menu - it tasted like a wonderful holiday in an Asian country, with the flavors of pandan, coconut, mango and gulujawa. Enjoyed 🌞

This has been my go-to place for lunch in den haag for months. I walked past after their normal opening hours and to my surprise they have started serving dinner as well! I tasted the birria tacos and they were honestly the best tacos I have tried🪄🪄 Highly reccomend checking this place out:)

How rude can you be to paying clients?? I ASKED if they can hurry my coffee order because I had somewhere else to be and the answer I got was really demeaning. Do better in life! My reply to the owner’s comment ⬇️ I was not rude, I asked you a question in a normal way and you replied with really demeaning words. Also, you were discussing with me about how long I’ve been waiting. It was indeed 5 min. I asked if you can hurry because I had an appointment, true. Anyways, I left stunned. Look at the way you comment even now.

OMG the Sancocho soup is finger licking good. Mildly spiced Full of goodness. They have a super menu and are always happy to adjust if you have allergies or intolerance. Keen on satisfying everyone, very much including vegan and vega’s. Staff is always Friendly And the place recently got an even more homey cosy atmosphere, due an extra quiet place with lots of plants at the back. In busy hours you might have to wait a bit, but it is worth waiting if you have the time. I am a fan!

I've been coming here almost every day for years, and it remains great. The coffee is great, the atmosphere is cozy, and the dog Djaro makes it extra special. Highly recommended!

The dishes are dirty. The food is not tasty. Two people is the table ordered soup one got a full plate and the other one was half empty. The order took forever to come including the drinks. When asked for gluten free options (although the wrote if you have an allergy tell us) they said they have no gluten free dishes or options. And after asking why a vegetable mix will be with gluten they came up with the option to remove the pita from the dish. And after saying they have not gluten free bread they gave gf bread with the dish. Will not be returning here, there is so many other places in the street to explore that will probably be better. Disappointing.

I come from Australia, and we love coffee. But when I tell you I had the most beautiful tasting coffee in world I’m not exaggerating. I had a caramel late, the foam on top was delicious the drink was delicious the cafe was delicious. I was so happy, it was my first coffee in den haag and I couldn’t have been happier; truly set a standard for all other coffee shops I visited and non have even come close to beating Appeltje Eitje’s coffees

I have been coming to this cosy spot for more than a year. I love that they have meat, vegetarian and vegan options so it is easy to take any friends or family no matter their dietary choices. I love both the outdoor and indoor area and the servers are also very friendly. However, eating here multiple times, I have noticed that the food quality and plating or even the portions are not consistent. In particular, I was disappointed with the vegan breakfast menu multiple times. It should include a fruit salad and a sandwich. Yet, the sandwich was a very small piece of bread and the fruit salad was one strawberry and a few grapes. It was also not plated very appetisingly. (For 14,5 a bit disappointing unfortunately). My friend’s plate who ordered the hangover breakfast menu got a much nicer plate, with decent sized items.

Food is tasty, but be prepared for smaller portions. Most plates are €8-10 which I think is pretty reasonable! Unfortunately the coffee machine was not working when we went but we had tasty chai lattes. Service was a bit slow.

Weer na een tijd geleden geweest. Nu voor was reden lunch 13e huwelijksjaar te vieren. We hadden echt trek. Bestelden blueberry pancakes, shared dish zuid Amerikaans en zoete aardappel frites. De porties vielen tegen. De pancakes waren in het midden niet gaar. We gingen teleurgesteld weg en waren niet bevredigd. Hadden eigenlijk nog trek.

The taste of the pancake was perfectly balanced, with the fresh tones of lemon and the sweet notes of blueberries, finished with the rich taste of maple syrup. The atmosphere at Appeltje Eitje is warm and inviting, both inside and outside. The interior is stylish and cozy, making you feel right at home. Outside you can enjoy a relaxing ambiance, perfect for a sunny day. The staff are friendly and helpful. Their hospitality contributes to the pleasant experience this café-restaurant offers. In short, Oppeltje Eitje is a nice place for a relaxing and tasty break in the heart of The Hague. Definitely recommended!

This is a very cute and inviting place, in a great location. The food was average- nothing amazing, but the portion was decent for the price. They have some vegan options too. The coffee was very nice, so I would recommend going there for something to drink. The main issue was the service: it was extremely slow and the staff appeared quite rude, despite the place not being busy at all. Upon arriving we waited about 20 minutes before anyone came to take our order (and even then, it was only because we flagged down the waitress, who seemed a bit annoyed that we did this). We then waited a long time for the coffees, even longer for the food, and despite needing cutlery/more water we couldn't flag down the staff again. Not sure if it was just an off-day, but like I said it wasn't very busy so I'm not sure where the staff disappeared to or why they were a bit cold.

When I visited this place yesterday it was ok, good service, good engredients and atmosphere. We decided to come again today and unfortunately I had the worst service I have ever had. The waitress was very very rude. I ordered a breakfast toast and my boyfriend the zucchini waffle and a chicken tosti. We waited almost 1 h for this, people that come after us already had their food. The waitress avoided to look to us. After 50 min we asked what was happening, he said "nothing, your order will be ready soon". In 7 min since this talk our food was on the table, however not everything that we ordered. The tosti never come. When we went to pay he asked if everything was alright. We said yes, unless the the fact that we needed to wait 1h to get a a toast and a waffle. He ignored our answer ( I don't understand why did he asked then) and sayed how much we had to pay. Not even an apology for the time we wait. This is to be rude and peo

It was unfortunately one of the worst cafe experiences ever. First of all, there were so many fruit flies that we actually spent the entire time waving them away. In addition, the kitchen is open and next to the tables. I understand that in this case noises from kitchen activities are normal, but with them the noise of clearing dishes was so loud and they did it so aggressively that we actually saw and heard plates and glassware breaking a few times. Really not normal and it was so annoying that we had to leave early because of the noise and those flies, it was really terrible. I still don't understand why they don't clean up in a normal way and don't realize that so much noise can't be pleasant for people who want to have a quiet cup of coffee.

Very welcoming staff! I’ve got the courgette waffle with veggies burrata and extra poached egg. Very tasty but waffles were completely cold. Also the heating system probably is not the best since I’ve felt cold all the time I’ve spent there :(

Scrambled egs with cheese on a mineral rich bread platter. Dunk it down with an orange juice and get on with your day. That's rich.

Mijn vriendin had echt lkkr eten..mijn bananen brood met flensje ofzo was t helemaal niet, smakeloos en m'n warme chocolademelk was jammer genoeg heel sterk, leek wel puur.. Volgende x neem ik iets anders, hopelijk is dat dan beter.

Richtig tolles Kaffee, selbst die Katze hat sich kurz blicken lassen. Das Essen war fantastisch und jeden Cent wert. Frisch gepresster O-Saft als Highlight.

We enjoyed our lunch with five former colleagues at Appeltje Eitje very much. The food is healthy style with a strong Mexican influence. Sizes of the dishes vary. Service (in impeccable English) was very friendly. The somewhat gentrified neighborhood is very pleasant with many eateries.

Great, chill-out atmosphere with vegan heavenly croissants, brownies and drinks. Have to go there if you are in Scheveningen.

The food was so delicious! I had the Breakfast focaccia and it was very hard to choose what to eat because everything on the menu sounded so good. The Price-Performance-ratio was excellent and it was very tasty. The staff were also very friendly. I liked the ambience as well, there were so many little fun details in the decoration.

Echt een heerlijke plek, onze favo lunch tent. Alles op de kaart is lekker hier (en we hebben al heel veel geprobeerd). Gezonde, pure gerechten met een originele twist. En altijd aardig personeel. En heel gezellige plek voor koffie, thee of te lunchen!! Zeker een aanrader. En vandaag een hartje van komkommer voor mijn dochter!

Het eten is echt slecht en de manager is een bully. Ik bestelde yoghurt met vruchtjes en cruesli. De cruesli is letterlijk ransig. De olie in de noten is ransig en verraadt dat die cruesli erg oud is. Dat smaakt echt zo vies. Die smaak krijg je ook niet makkelijk weg als je een hap hebt genomen. De manager nam het bord mee terug naar de keuken en kwam even later met tegenzin melden dat ik gelijk had en de cruesli niet te eten was. Hij vroeg wat ik dan wilde eten en ik vroeg om hetzelfde maar dan zonder cruesli. Toen dat tweede bord kwam bleken de vruchten niet rijp. Weleens een niet rijpe banaan gegeten? Dat is bitter en hard. Ook de aardbeien en druiven waren niet rijp en zoet. maar crispy en smakeloos. Ik begreep dat ik dus niet in een plek was waar er iemand met zorg het eten klaar maakt. Ze doen maar wat. Ik liet een medewerker zien hoe hard en oneetbaar die banaan was en zij zei dat ze t zou vertellen aan de manager. Of ze dat heeft gedaan weet ik niet. De manager liet zich niet meer zien. Ik had honger en bedacht dat ikzelf een rijpe banaan in mn tas had zitten. Dus ik peuterde de vruchtjes van Appel Eitje uit de yoghurt en sneed er stukjes van mijn eigen banaan in en at dat op. Toen het tijd werd om af te rekenen legde de manager mij met een stalen smoel een rekening voor voor de capucino die ik gedronken had en voor dit yoghurt gerecht. Hij zei niet sorry voor twee onzorgvuldig bereidde versies ervan maar claimde dat omdat ik de yoghurt had opgegeten ik moest betalen voor het gerecht. Toen ik daar niet toe bereid was vroeg hij waar ik woonde (hoe is dat relevant? Daar gaf ik geen antwoord op) en stelde toen dat ik niet meer welkom was als klant in Appel Eitje. Ik heb nog nooit een review geschreven en moest even zoeken on-line hoe dat te doen, maar deze tent verdient geen klanten. De kok boeit 't blijkbaar niks wat ie klaarmaakt en de manager is een bully.

One of the best places where we had brunch ever. This place is simply amazing in all aspects. The food was original and dellocious. The service was one of the most responsive, friendly and warm service I have enjoyed in recent times anywhere.

Wir haben hier einmal gefrühstückt und hatten einmal auch Lunch. Das Essen ist unglaublich lecker!!! Es gibt auch viele vegane Optionen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich.

Gezellige plek om te lunchen. We zaten binnen omdat buiten alles vol zat. Binnen is ruim ingericht met veel natuurlijk licht. De menukaart is gevarieerd met veel vegan keuzes. Zeker aan te raden!

This is a very cute place. The food was good, offering many different options. This is also a good place for vegetarians and vegans. Sadly, out waitress seemed stressed and also smoked in front of the café next to the customers which I think is not appropriate.

We went there to get breakfast. The place was busy but the waiter managed to fit us in. The service was very nice, my scrambled eggs with salmon were tasty and the coffee was good...

War sehr leckeres Frühstück dort. Kann ich nur empfehlen. Personal auch super freundlich. Wenn wir nochmal dahin reisen werden wir aufjedenfall dort wieder essen.

Ik wil graag mijn waardering uitspreken voor dit geweldige eettentje. Mijn ervaring was absoluut uitstekend. Het eten was overheerlijk en de service was vriendelijk en professioneel. Ik ben onder de indruk van de aandacht voor details en de passie die duidelijk is in elke schotel die geserveerd werd. Ik kan dit eettentje ten zeerste aanbevelen aan iedereen die op zoek is naar een onvergetelijke culinaire ervaring.
