I was in the mood for some Indian food and walked past this place, it server also a lot of kebab and stuff like that so I was sceptical. I shouldn't have been. Absolutely delicious butter chicken, highly recommend!

Pleasantly surprised! The menu is very extensive, and the service is friendly, with a smile, and super fast. An incredibly aromatic and delicious meal is served in no time. A real treat here at De Poort! Namaste Highly recommended!

Food is great i order twice a week. But they dont listen to notes at all ( whats rhe point of having the option then?) too much oil in the food.

The food is delicious, and the kapsalon comes with a huge amount of fries; they could use a bit more meat. The service was good. You can sit inside or outside; there's limited space outside, but plenty of room inside. The interior is definitely in need of renovation. It all looks old and not very hygienic. Other than that, the food is good, and the ordering process is excellent. I come here often, so yes, it's definitely recommended.

Overall, a very good Indian restaurant. The naans, rice, butter chicken, tika masala, and mixed grill were ordered thanks to some big eaters. Like many Indian restaurants, the place is a bit basic in terms of decor. Takeout is also available.

Late-Night Gem for Authentic Indian Cuisine It’s hard to find a place open late around here, so discovering this was a pleasant surprise. They serve a full menu well into the night — note displayed outside are a few menu options, inside at the tables they have a full range menu with different protein and side options. The food is good and authentic. I got the butter chicken with rice, garlic naan, samosa for my partner, while I had a side of fries — total was 30 euro…flavorful with the spice level to your preference. The service was also solid — friendly. Overall, a good find for anyone looking for quality Indian food with flexible hours.

The food wasn't good. They don't ask if you want a large or small portion, and they use disgusting slices of cheese on the kapsalon. There were also pieces of bone from the doner kebab in my kapsalon.

Expectations? Low. Reality? A plate full of love and carbohydrates. I ordered something with kopstover (whatever that was exactly, I was already sold at the word ‘kop’) and it really filled me up quickly. Not a little bit full – no, “I’m-taking-this-home-because-I-can’t-go-anymore”-full. What immediately struck me: no messy plastic packaging or aluminum container. No, you just get a neat plate with everything on it as if you were eating at your favorite aunt's house (but one that specializes in fast food). And then the offer... you can even eat pani puri there. You don't even have that at some fancy Indian restaurants, and here it is simply available between the roti and the biryani. You notice that this is not a standard menu - here they have choices that make you happy, even if you want something different than butter chicken and tikka masala. 📍 Conclusion: Always busy, but in a cozy way. Portions are generous, taste good and the fact that I could eat pani puri in a fast food setting in the Bijlmer? Iconic. I will come back. But then with alloy pants. We've been ordering from Arena Food Express for two years now, and at this point, they should probably just adopt us. So good they deserve their own national holiday. We've considered just ordering 12 and calling it dinner, and honestly? No regrets. Then there's the vindaloo—hotter than our love for this place. It doesn't ask you if you're ready. It just arrives, ruins your taste buds in the best way possible, and leaves you questioning your spice tolerance and your life choices. And then you order it again next week. And finally, the jalfrezi. Saucy, spicy, and slightly chaotic—just like us. It’s the dish you get when you want to feel alive. And by “alive,” we mean “sweating but smiling.” The portions are generous, the flavors are chef's kiss, and the staff know their stuff. Exactly what you are looking for in South East! Not that slick Kwantum/Praxis interior, but just basic. We came for the Indian bite of Vegetarian Korma!! But many visitors come for the lavish Kapsalon. So at home in all markets. Delicious food!!!!

Very generous portions. Worth the price. We bought the biryani rice. There are three spice levels: no spice, medium, and spicy. We tried the lamb biryani, and it was easy to chew. There was a bit of a lamb smell, but it wasn't too bad as they put lemon inside.

I have been ordering Indian food from here almost weekly for the last two years and it’s still my favourite. (Picture is from the few times I dined in there). Not the best atmosphere to dine in (staff are nice tho) but their curry is just amazing. Naans are so good, fresh and perfect texture. I’ve tried most of their curries on the menu and everything is great. Lamb korma and butter chicken are my favourite. Super rich in spice flavor, not watered down like many other Indian places in town. Also love their tandoori and mango lassi. Quite generous portions if you order takeaway/delivery.

Arena food expresses has surprised me a bit too. The place is run by a big Indian family. Its average Indian food but with the price it is worth. My favorite is the chicken tikka masala which has the right amount of gravy and spice level. they can also make it spicy on request. I liked the fact that they dont put lot of cream or oil to just make it rich. You can ask them to also put less oil and butter. Is it the best india food No, but its also not the below average. do visit this place and get that Indian Dhaba feeling ( road side food in Indian highways)

We have previously eaten on location, and we enjoyed it very much. Today we ordered from home. A Mixed Grill and a Lamb Madras. What we got on the table was unreal. After eating it all, neck and neck full, I called the restaurant and asked the chef on the phone. I had to tell him personally what we thought of it. This was the best delivery meal ever. We are in our 50s, so we have certainly seen something. This stood head and shoulders out. Delicious. Keep it up, AFE! Thank you for showing us that delivery can still deliver quality.

No words, from the thousands of places i have eaten i came by this spot through my sister. It is my favorite food spot period. I would recommend the butter chicken (or vegan version) with and extra piece of naan(best is garlic and cheese in my opinion). The service is amazing, remembers us and delivers with a smile every time. I truely wish these guys more success, because jesus are they underrated. The flavourfull food, and amazing texture is something you will not find in even the most expensive of indian restaurants. Not just a 10/10, but a 100/10

The atmosphere here would give u feeling of having food in India, with punjabi music in background, people talking in Indian language, cozy and sweet. This place has one of the better butter chicken around there. We used to order delivery at our place but once when we went to dine-in, the quantity of butter chicken was 1/3rd and the disappointment was unreal. The quality met the expectations but it was not enough and hence not worth. The next time when we ordered at home, we added a salad worth €3 and what we get is one slice of tomato, one slice of cucumber and chopped salad in a container size of my palm! Seriously disappointed!!

The guys make really, really good Indian food, I especially recommend Tikka Masala and Chicken Biryani

Very friendly service/staff. The Indian food is tasty, but we got lamb instead of the chicken dish we ordered. Since we didn't have much time, we didn't ask to replace it. Unfortunately, the atmosphere here is hard to find, you have to create it yourself ;-). Drinks are served in cans, the upholstery of the benches clearly needs replacing.

I've been a regular customer at this restaurant, but my recent experience was disappointing. I ordered Kadhai Paneer and bread, specifically requesting it to be spicy, but it was tasteless. The delivery was also delayed. This meal was a waste of money, and I wouldn't recommend this restaurant anymore.

I know I used to get quite a few things here, but recently I think they don't do much about it. For example in the doner box or falafel. That the ingredients have changed or that they don't put in as much as before. For the rest it is a nice place😊

I used to order from here regularly and the food was good quality but I don't know if the chef changed or what happened, the food quality has become absolutely the worst. The food doesn't taste good and in few instances recently the chicken had a bad taste. Not gonna order again from here. Also I think they changed the oil they use because the samosas have a bad smell now.

We keep coming back here for dal-makhni. Love all the foods. They taste authentic Indian.

Firstly, the delivery was very late, the delivery person indicated that she was missing a delivery person and a chef and that it was super busy. Okay that's possible. Then they didn't have the cheesecake and they gave red velvet, that's also possible. I ordered rice with the shawarma dish, which they forgot, but that can also be added. But the dish was packed in those foam containers. As far as I know, they are not resistant to hot oil and they probably threw fries straight from the fryer into that container. That container had completely melted and was stuck between the shawarma! I've just been chewing plastic. This is really not possible!

This place offers superb authentic North Indian flavours in their Indian recipes- butter chicken, butter paneer, daal, mutton curry, aloo tikki chaat, samosa, paani puri etc. Naans are very yummy, soft, not heavy to digest and made using traditional recipe, esp butter naan; The flavours are awesome. Reasonably priced as per the quantity of each serving! Staff is very courteous! Highly recommend for veg & non-veg Indian food in Netherlands!

i ordered via uber eats. ➕the order was quick and warm ➕good paneer dish but: ➖the cheese naan had almost no cheese and was super dry ➖the meat in lamb naan was rather low quality and unpleasant kapsalon and fried chicken were OK.

Wij kwamen heel spontaan terecht bij dit restaurantje...ziet er uit als een ordinaire doner zaak...totaal niet iets waar ik graag kom...maar ze hebben dus ook een indiaanse menu kaart! Omg dit was zo lekker!!! het eten was heerlijk!!! wij komen hier zeker terug! niet voor de doner maar zeker voor het indiaanse eten!!!

Redelijke tent dichtbij arena, doner €6 is niet heel duur maar echte indiase gerechten wel, je moet er heen gaan voor een leuke sfeer maar eten smaakt best.

The food was really delicious. Chicken Biryani was so good and had a new taste for us, even if we’d already tried Biryani before. The portion was generous, we couldn’t finish all the food. The staff were so warm, we spoke with them about their country and cuisine and they made a special Naan for us.

Het indiaas eten is heerlijk, nergens lekkerdere butter chicken gegeten. Personeel is super vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Mijn favoriete plek om te eten voor als ik naar Amsterdam ga!

Wederom super lekker gegeten hier. Maar pas op met de knoflooksaus van tafel. Op een warme dag kan dat zo maar tot een avondje op het toilet leiden. Vraag als je het wil om verse knoflooksaus uit de koelkast.

Prijzen acceptabel. Smaak matig. Als je 2 halve plakjes komkommer en tomaat op je brood wilt moet je hier zijn. Hygiene hele tent matig. Mag wel een grote schoonmaak krijgen.

Very hard for me to find good Indian food here in Amsterdam South East But Arena Express is absolutely delicious!! Best Indian authentic food you can find around in Bijlmer in my opinion. butter chicken and Mix Grill were the best choice with garlic naan. Don't miss is.
