The food was terrible and we tried few other items and they were even worse. The breakfast menu is more like a dessert menu and no eggs at all. Highly not recommended! Better go to overzicht which is much better

Despite the stormy weather, we had a wonderfully cozy time enjoying drinks and food at the boathouse. The food was delicious, and the service was fantastic, especially Mara, but of course, many others as well. We had a wonderful evening.

Italian cuisine: the pizzas are truly delicious, and the beef stew was also delicious. The service is fantastic, the people are super friendly and always take the time to chat. A great location on the Sloterplas lake. And it's also a really nice place for parents with young children to eat.

The food was truly fantastic! The atmosphere is student-friendly. It's great that you can still park here for €2.70 per hour, and you only pay until 7 PM.

We've been here several times and have always had good experiences. This time with our neighbors. They don't speak English. That's why we noticed that the menu is entirely in English. Why? We're in the Netherlands. Shouldn't it be normal to have a menu in Dutch alongside English? We also think that the selection outside of pizzas is a bit limited, but the delicious food more than makes up for it. We'll definitely be back!

Had a lovely lunch with a group of colleagues from a daycare center. The weather was beautiful, so it was lovely to be outside. The staff were very friendly and fast. We'll definitely be back.

We had a disappointing experience at Boathouse. We made a reservation for two with a newborn and a stroller, specifically requesting a table on the terrace. On arrival, no suitable table was available. The only option offered was a large shared table in the middle of the terrace, which was not appropriate for our situation. Strangely, one section of the terrace was empty, but when we asked if we could sit there and even offered to carry our food and drinks ourselves, the dark-haired bartender refused. His response was dismissive, telling us to “sit outside like everyone else,” and he showed little interest in helping us. This could have been managed and organized much better. When a reservation is made in advance with clear notes, it should be possible to set aside a more suitable, slightly secluded table rather than offering a shared spot in the busiest part of the terrace. In the end, we decided to take our drinks to go. Another waiter (blonde-haired) was polite and apologetic, which we appreciated. We usually enjoy coming here as the location is beautiful, but the hospitality of some staff needs improvement, and reservation management during busy times should be handled with more care.

Delicious food in a beautiful location on the Sloterplas

The service here is absolutely horrible. Staff are slow, inattentive, and the waiting time is unbearable. Would not recommend to anyone.

My favourite place to eat pizza in Amsterdam. I have been a regular here for the past 5 years and always recommend the Boothuis to people who are seeking authentic Italian style pizza. Whilst there is a great choice of pizza available, my own personal choice is always the Marinara. No cheese but incredibly light and tasty and, to spice it up, a drizzle of chilli oil. DELICIOUS. The service is always extremely friendly and I always look forward to my next visit.

The location is very nice however this is totally ruined by the rude and unexperienced service (the person managing the tables and few other staff). What surprises me is that I have read also other reviews complaining about the same thing and seems that they are not doing anything to change it.

Lovely sunny terrace with plenty of shade. Friendly service, but we didn't quite get what we ordered. It felt like being on vacation, a true pleasure. Highly recommended. I always call it a hidden gem!

Last week I had the best moscow mules + bruchetta/bruschette (?idk how it spells) I have had in YEARS. The staff was so busy but made me feel so cared for anyway. But that aside- love this place so much. Want to gatekeep but cannot stop recommending it to people lol. Everytime I come here I am able to 1) get so much work done 2) ravel in the best ambiance on the west side 3) have the sweetest interactions with the staff. Oh! And you have to order the burrrata also at some point!!

Not our thing, nice location though, there is a water sports club next door so you shouldn't go there for peace and quiet, and I also think it's quite expensive.

This place is such a gem! 💫 Perfect for a coffee or a quiet study session in the morning and lively at dinner time, when you can enjoy the most magical sunsets on the lake. Their pizza and drinks are top tier and the homey vibes make it even more special. Their night time events are also worth checking out. Highly recommended 🌞

There was a sign to wait to be seated.. but I guess it was only up for tourists because the locals were going in.. the staff saw us stand there but nobody greeted or seated us. We left

Boothuis is a wonderful place to stay. The atmosphere is relaxed, the food is good quality—no frills, nothing fancy, just pure and delicious. The staff does exactly what they're supposed to do and creates a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere in their own way. I'll definitely be back often. Boothuis, thank you for a pleasant stay.

Great place with delicious food. It was very busy, so the staff wasn't very attentive, but they were very quick, which was nice. The food was delicious; I had the bruschetta with salad and my table companion had a pizza—very tasty. It's just a shame you couldn't just get water; you have to pay extra for that. All in all, highly recommended!

August 2025, Hidden behind the trees next to De Sloterplas lies Boothuis. Convenient next to the Sloterplas, sailing school. Having a good amount of parking spots for cars, plenty for bikes as well. Huge and nice terrace providing enough shade. Friendly and attending (young) staff. Already known to a lot of people this nice situated place. Offering a small menu and enough drinks.

Super fun place, always a favorite. The food is excellent, the location is great, and the service is fast and friendly.

I feel you go here for the atmosphere and views to the lake - a dream location when summer is summering. The food unfortunately even tho they have an italian chef is mediocre and needs a lot more attention to be the star of the show. Flavours were blant and cocktails werent done well either. I don't even want to talk about the glas we got for our water which still was smelling like beer from the person before using it. I hope some improvements can be made - or maybe I should only go for a beer and a pizza and call it a happy day.

One of the worst services you’ll find in Amsterdam. I’ve been twice, and that’s more than enough, not coming back. You’d expect way better from a place in such a great spot.

What a wonderful place! Het Boothuis is beautifully situated on the water and has a super fun, relaxed vibe; you'll instantly get that holiday feeling. The wood-fired pizzas are highly recommended: fresh, crispy, and packed with flavor. It's lovely to sit here and just enjoy the view and the atmosphere.

A fantastic spot where you can relax in the sun. Delicious pizzas and good snacks, as well as a good menu. We're very happy with places like this in Nieuw West! Friendly service with clear communication, a large terrace, and plenty of space for children, dogs, and large groups.

We had dinner at Boothuis, which is a lovely spot with great food and a pleasant atmosphere. However, around 19:30, the experience changed when very loud DJ music started playing inside, where our table was located. All the other guests were sitting outside on the terrace. It wasn’t our kind of music and made it difficult to enjoy the evening. We were told the DJ now also plays on Thursdays, which might be good to know for future visits. Fortunately, a table outside became available, and we were able to move there, which helped salvage the evening.

Relaxed, cozy and delicious - shared dining at the Sloterplas (quite affordable too)

We went with friends to enjoy the beautiful view. As I said, the view is amazing! The food was mediocre. The restroom was pretty bad. These are things that could be improved. I hope they take it into consideration.

The atmosphere was very pleasant and the view was very nice, but unfortunately I couldn't get a drink because they had already finished their last round, even though there were still 50 minutes until they would close.

A really great place. Birthday dinner at two large picnic tables that we were allowed to connect. Pizza/pasta menu with a wide selection. Everything arrived on time, together, and hot :) We'd love to come back!

Beautiful place. Not too busy, not too quiet! I was well looked after by the waitress who is studying nursing. Greetings from (larajadenl on Instagram) too; she just called to say she'll be there soon.

It's actually quite a nice place to meet, and the surroundings are pleasant. This visit, however, was much worse than the previous one; the service was poor—we had to constantly get the staff's attention, and they didn't pay much attention to us. Our waitress seemed very inexperienced. When the food took a really long time to arrive, we were told, after inquiring, that the focaccias were out and they were making new ones. It happens, but it was a bit odd that this wasn't anticipated. The seasonal salad was very disappointing. Fennel, rhubarb, and olives—I didn't want the latter, but it was mainly a plate with a HUGE amount of fennel slices. Sliced from top to bottom, including the rock-hard bottom. A few thin slices of rhubarb, and that was it. All of this was drowned in a copious amount of olive oil. I definitely left a third of it, but we weren't asked about it when our plates were cleared. Not even a "Did you enjoy it?" I understand this isn't a five-star lunch, but when a guest leaves so much behind, that question is justified. I don't think I'll be meeting here again anytime soon; I'll be exploring other places.

Still a great place! The food was good and tasty, and the service was also great! Just ask about portion sizes. The music was also nice. If you turn it down a bit, it creates a nicer atmosphere where you can still have normal conversations. 😇

Great food, beautiful location, friendly staff.

We always go here for drinks; it's close to home and a really beautiful place. But today we had a wonderful surprise when I discovered that my best friend Piero Lanave is a pizza maker here. And he's one of the best pizza makers in Amsterdam! Now I finally don't have to go to Italy for real Italian pizza. I highly recommend this place as an Italian chef.

What a nice place, on the water but was just too fresh to sit outside. It is completely full but very cozy and the food is completely good. Good quality pizza, tuna delicious! Very noisy, yes I love it! Be sure to come back with good weather. Relaxed service!

Had a great healthy sandwich with grilled vegetables, very nice people. The weather was nice and we got a picnic table by the water, a quiet oasis in Amsterdam. You can also do water sports there. Great!! Due to force majeure we were a little later than the time of reservation and when we called they dealt with that very kindly. That made us feel very welcome. 💕

Nice, smooth, friendly service. We were with 4 adults and a child of almost 5 and the food came very quickly. That was nice. Pizzas are delicious. Good dough, from the stone oven and nicely topped for a very friendly price in Amsterdam. Acoustics could be better. Having a good conversation is a challenge, but on the other hand that gives a nice buzz in the shop. We will gladly come back soon.

My favorite hidden gem in the city!

I love this place and tried so hard to motivate my colleagues to come here for a team dinner, I showed up earlier than the reservation to get a good table for us, but on a very hot day got no empathy or help from the staff to make that happen. It just felt bad. However generally the staff are very helpful.

It was a busy & warm day. But the food was delicious! It's a shame that they don't make their own ice cream & don't tell you where the ice cream comes from. They could also mention the alcohol percentage of the beer on the drinks menu, because the staff often don't know. You are also often 'forgotten' once you are seated and then you have to go to the bar yourself to ask if someone can come over. But I'm used to this because it happens in many more places in Amsterdam. I didn't blame anyone during the heat wave. I used to work in the hospitality industry myself and having my 'own district' within the company worked really well. Constructive feedback, because I am very happy with the Boothuis!

Even on one of the hottest days of the year the staff is super friendly and helpful. The food is delicious and you don't have to wait long for the drinks.

The four of us had a lovely time by the water, with a drink and later a freshly prepared dinner. The food was delicious and everything was clearly prepared with care. The service was friendly and came to us quickly to take the order. The food was also served quickly, which was very pleasant. In short: nice atmosphere, good service and delicious food. Definitely recommended! We enjoyed it very much.

In my experience, the last two times I visited this restaurant it was a pleasant place to go with family or friends and enjoy the lake. The atmosphere is lovely and perfect for spending time outdoors. The food is good — the pizza is especially tasty! However, the service can sometimes be a bit slow or not very attentive. Still, I recommend it if you’re looking for a nice outdoor spot with good food!

It was one of the worst pizza experiences we’ve ever had. We went there on a Thursday evening. Although there were several empty tables, the waitress insisted that we sit on a bench. We pointed out a couple of available tables, and only after some back-and-forth did she unwillingly agree. When we placed our order, I clearly pointed to the drinks on the menu and asked for half a liter of wine. Despite that, she brought us a beer and a single glass of wine. Misunderstandings can happen, of course, but her reaction was shocking. Instead of trying to clarify, she accused us of ordering the wrong drinks. We absolutely did not. She was very rude throughout the interaction. We also ordered a margherita pizza, and unfortunately, it was not tasty at all. The atmosphere was nice, but sadly, I can’t say the same for the service or the food.

Nice terrace at the Sloterplas. Atmospheric. Coffee tasted good, I got an espresso instead of a regular coffee. Very friendly staff.

We had a nice dinner here. It's quite hard to find a restaurant which is pet friendly with good food. I will recommend this restaurant.

Still a nice place, hidden gem at the Sloterplas although it is now also known in Nieuw-west given the full tables. Cocktails have undergone shrinkage, ginger spritz for example I used to get in a (full) glass and now in a wine glass as well as with aperol spritz etc. Kitchen has improved a lot now, keep up your chef! It has been less sometimes. Compliments to the boy who actually lives in Japan and helps you temporarily, big smile, makes a chat and really made the difference! :)

The food tastes really delicious, too bad the service is lacking.. It was a sunny weekday and there were only 3 people serving. It took 20 minutes before someone came to our table to bring the menus. Food is put down without any explanation of what you can expect with a cheese platter. We waited half an hour for our drinks and when we wanted a dessert we had to wave for 10 minutes to be noticed. Too bad if you think you are going to have a nice bite to eat somewhere. The service is not bad but I think there is simply too little staff. I therefore doubt whether I would go here again. If you do want to eat here, I recommend making a reservation on a sunny day, even during the week. Another couple could only have a drink because they had not made a reservation!

The waiters are super friendly and the food was nice. They finally have gluten-free pasta option. It was very salty, still eatable. I'm looking from them to have gluten-free pizza option on the menu soon.

Had a nice Italian pizza 🍕, added some extra chilli oil to spice things up. The marina with the same name next to it has different kinds of boats for rent to enjoy the dutch waters, also a canoe club is located near. Enjoyed a good glass of wine too, 🍷😁

Beautiful location in the middle of nature. Very friendly and hospitable service. Delicious food, delicious tiramisu (but don't take the pizza Verdura May 2025, it's very disappointing). Note: always book in advance!
