I love this place and tried so hard to motivate my colleagues to come here for a team dinner, I showed up earlier than the reservation to get a good table for us, but on a very hot day got no empathy or help from the staff to make that happen. It just felt bad. However generally the staff are very helpful.

It was a busy & warm day. But the food was delicious! It's a shame that they don't make their own ice cream & don't tell you where the ice cream comes from. They could also mention the alcohol percentage of the beer on the drinks menu, because the staff often don't know. You are also often 'forgotten' once you are seated and then you have to go to the bar yourself to ask if someone can come over. But I'm used to this because it happens in many more places in Amsterdam. I didn't blame anyone during the heat wave. I used to work in the hospitality industry myself and having my 'own district' within the company worked really well. Constructive feedback, because I am very happy with the Boothuis!

Even on one of the hottest days of the year the staff is super friendly and helpful. The food is delicious and you don't have to wait long for the drinks.

Love the surrounding but the people working there is awful - they don’t know how to treat customers. We were there for a farewell and they stole the show with their bad attitude

The four of us had a lovely time by the water, with a drink and later a freshly prepared dinner. The food was delicious and everything was clearly prepared with care. The service was friendly and came to us quickly to take the order. The food was also served quickly, which was very pleasant. In short: nice atmosphere, good service and delicious food. Definitely recommended! We enjoyed it very much.

In my experience, the last two times I visited this restaurant it was a pleasant place to go with family or friends and enjoy the lake. The atmosphere is lovely and perfect for spending time outdoors. The food is good — the pizza is especially tasty! However, the service can sometimes be a bit slow or not very attentive. Still, I recommend it if you’re looking for a nice outdoor spot with good food!

It was one of the worst pizza experiences we’ve ever had. We went there on a Thursday evening. Although there were several empty tables, the waitress insisted that we sit on a bench. We pointed out a couple of available tables, and only after some back-and-forth did she unwillingly agree. When we placed our order, I clearly pointed to the drinks on the menu and asked for half a liter of wine. Despite that, she brought us a beer and a single glass of wine. Misunderstandings can happen, of course, but her reaction was shocking. Instead of trying to clarify, she accused us of ordering the wrong drinks. We absolutely did not. She was very rude throughout the interaction. We also ordered a margherita pizza, and unfortunately, it was not tasty at all. The atmosphere was nice, but sadly, I can’t say the same for the service or the food.

We had a nice dinner here. It's quite hard to find a restaurant which is pet friendly with good food. I will recommend this restaurant.

Still a nice place, hidden gem at the Sloterplas although it is now also known in Nieuw-west given the full tables. Cocktails have undergone shrinkage, ginger spritz for example I used to get in a (full) glass and now in a wine glass as well as with aperol spritz etc. Kitchen has improved a lot now, keep up your chef! It has been less sometimes. Compliments to the boy who actually lives in Japan and helps you temporarily, big smile, makes a chat and really made the difference! :)

Nice place but the service from the ginger young girl is very rude and unwelcoming, will not be returning based on this. Shame because it’s a nice sun spot

The food tastes really delicious, too bad the service is lacking.. It was a sunny weekday and there were only 3 people serving. It took 20 minutes before someone came to our table to bring the menus. Food is put down without any explanation of what you can expect with a cheese platter. We waited half an hour for our drinks and when we wanted a dessert we had to wave for 10 minutes to be noticed. Too bad if you think you are going to have a nice bite to eat somewhere. The service is not bad but I think there is simply too little staff. I therefore doubt whether I would go here again. If you do want to eat here, I recommend making a reservation on a sunny day, even during the week. Another couple could only have a drink because they had not made a reservation!

We come here regularly for the delicious pizzas and tiramisu. A glass of Verdejo, a nice view of the Sloterplas, what more could you want?

The waiters are super friendly and the food was nice. They finally have gluten-free pasta option. It was very salty, still eatable. I'm looking from them to have gluten-free pizza option on the menu soon.

Had a nice Italian pizza 🍕, added some extra chilli oil to spice things up. The marina with the same name next to it has different kinds of boats for rent to enjoy the dutch waters, also a canoe club is located near. Enjoyed a good glass of wine too, 🍷😁

Beautiful location in the middle of nature. Very friendly and hospitable service. Delicious food, delicious tiramisu (but don't take the pizza Verdura May 2025, it's very disappointing). Note: always book in advance!

Just reserved a table for 7 people. Didn't get a confirmation before we went for our walk but just walked in. Employees who don't speak Dutch so everything was explained twice. After the order was placed it turned out that there was no apple pie. There was only one piece left. The coffee was excellent and the atmosphere was great at this beautiful location. But the staff could be a bit more prompt.

Very cozy location, too bad it rained yesterday, otherwise you can sit on the terrace by the water! Friendly staff! Good food, of the deserts the strawberry ice cream was a bit disappointing! Too much ice cream crunch! Tiramisu delicious! Really recommended to go there!

I’m a regular customer and have been here many times since the opening. The first year I loved the menu. I brought all my friends to join me for dinner at Boothuis and we loved it. We usually ordered 1 pizza and 1 salad (they had an amazing Fregola salad on the 1st menu) which was plenty for 2 woman or customers who want to eat healthy. There was even some space left for the amazing Tiramisu! Unfortunately, last year they changed the menu(new owner/chef?) and every time I struggle with what I should order. The pizza’s are too large to eat by yourself(for most women at least), I can never finish and feel guilty for eating so much dough. There are other menu options, but they are not all so appealing and mostly with cheese and meat. What the menu really lacks is one or two good salads. For everyone who wants a lighter option in the summer(isn’t Boothuis all about summer vibes?) and maybe even some space left to try a delicious dessert! I’ve mentioned this to the staff. More than once. In the beginning when the menu had just changed, they told me more customers complained about the disappearing of the salads. But nothing was ever done with this feedback. Boothuis has a lot of potential, the location is great, the atmosphere relaxed and offers qualitative food and drinks. It can however improve by genuinely listening to the needs of their clients and by adding 1 or 2 healthy salads on the menu. Thank you!

Unfortunately had a bad experince - ordered veggie bitterballen, meat version was brought out. I asked the bartender to swap it, due to the mistake, he rudely commanded me to find my waiter, and said that "he was slammed". So he proposed me to walk around the busy terrace, trying to find a waitress, and tell her she made a mistake. Not ideal service - but usual for Amsterdam.

Super nice place with a very nice atmosphere. Very nice terrace. Also nice with the dogs! Ate on the terrace with family. Unfortunately almost no choice for vegans and gluten free other than a choice of 4 rolls that could be made gluten free. The focaccia I chose came as 2 small baguettes because I wanted gluten free, which was not very filling for me. My cousin's focaccia was also very little for the price. Other than that, great place!

Just had a delicious meal in the boathouse. They have delicious Italian dishes and a fantastic view over the Sloterplas. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy good food in a fantastic location.

Lovely spot. Only recently a hidden pleasure, now a hotspot. We were there for Mother's Day breakfast at 11am. Quite a small breakfast menu. Even though there were only a few tables occupied and it had only been open for a short time, the breakfast bowl was no longer available. An alternative was grilled cheese or croissant. Bit of a downer.

Love coming here, the food and drinks are amazing and the atmosphere also. However two issues that i noticed are that there should be more shade (umbrellas), they showed us the seats that were only on the sun and the service could be more organised. We were waiting quite a while to order and then food and drinks.

We celebrated a birthday and a creative lustrum with 12 women, and we enjoyed coffee with delicious apple pie and focaccias for lunch. We received every cooperation and space. A real party in a very friendly atmosphere!!

Very rude staff started arguing and were not welcome at all probably because of our tan. While they are in Adam West. If you have a tan don't go, they will probably spit in your food.

Afschuwelijk personeel, heel arrogant en gebruiken woorden dat je echt niet welkom bent. Ik zou het je niet aanraden. Heel hoogmoedig in het gebruik van hun woorden omdat ze zo vol zitten. Totaal niet flexibel en met respect aanspreekbaar naar een gezin met kinderen.

Cozy and cute place with a beautiful view of the lake. I went there to get some lunch and do a bit of work outside because weather was great. I ordered focaccia and lemonade but unfortunately my order was missed( probably was forgotten) and I needed to wait around one hour to get my food. And I must say that it was not worth to wait, focaccia was not tasty

Actually too bad for a review. 1.5 years ago it was still great. Now the worst service in North Holland and total chaos on the work floor there. Also somewhat expensive pizzas that are tasty. Just don't be too hungry because you'll be waiting 1.5 hours for it. Greetings Vincent

Good place terribly managed don't recommend

Received wrong pizza. Not sent back because then you don't eat together. After waiting half an hour for dessert, the waiter appears to have forgotten to place the order. The excuses were downright bad. Like, well, yes. Bad luck.

Great food and a beautiful location!

Good cozy place, great pizza and disastrous service and management, really They are not rude, they are just inexperienced, not much care and they don't know what to do. You order smth often wait forever. If you can ever take attention of any employee to order smth, call yourself lucky. Also common issue is that randomly they stop taking orders, while serving next table beers.

This restaurant is located next to the Sloterplas and has indoor and outdoor sitting possibilities. It is well suited for families, with a corner with toys. Service is friendly and approachable. The pizzas are tasty. Prices are in line with Amsterdam prices, around 16€ for a pizza and 5 to 8 euros for a beer.

Great location, unfortunately the service was really bad. I sat lost at the table for 15 minutes and didn't know whether I would be served or whether it was self-service. After I asked, they just said that someone was coming to the table, which then took another 20 minutes (I work in service myself and if customers come to the bar and ask because no one is coming, that's a sign to run!) The sandwich and coffee arrived very quickly. However, I was then left sitting there for a whole hour and simply ignored by the waitress. Normally you ask if the guest would like anything else (otherwise that's not exactly good for sales??). Would have been understandable if the store was full, but that wasn't the case. The staff should be made aware of this urgently. All in all, a great location, but you should bring your time…

It is a cozy place, but the facility is poorly managed. The online menu is misleading, and if you ask for a table, they might say they are full, yet someone else can come in and get seated. I’m very sorry that such a beautiful place is being managed this way. I hope things improve and that this place is restored to its potential. The pizzas are good, though, but unfortunately, that alone is not enough.

Cycled past here and wanted to try the pizza I had heard others about. Unfortunately, the pizza left was not warm on a weekday afternoon. Understandable. Furthermore, a limited menu and it feels a bit shabby. Will try again on a sunny day in the coming months. When asked, I was told that the pizza oven is only on for lunch on weekends.

Staff was very rude. We came in and apparently walked pasted a sign saying "wait here to be seated" - we were just walking around looking for a free table, and the staff asked "Do you have a reservation?" we said "No, do you have any table for two?" The staff was then like "Didn't you see the sign to wait over there?!" - we were like "uuhh no?" - then she was like "Pff, I find that very hard to believe! The sign is there for a reason!" - like ok sure, we genuinely didn't see the sign... Then we asked if they had a table anyways - she was like "Ugh, go sit over there, I guess. But we don't have any food for you." - Yea ok sure, we were just on a walk and only wanted some coffee, we didn't even want food... Then we decided to just leave and not even have a coffee because of how rude the staff was

Disappointing experience: X we were not welcomed, so it turned out that no table had been set for our reservation X we walked to the bar ourselves to place an order because we had to wait on the sunny side and a large group came after us. We wanted to be the first to eat our food and it didn't seem like the service noticed this X the pizzas arrived quickly but we had to wait for cutlery There is a large terrace but not enough staff. In my opinion, it can be easily solved by placing orders via QR code and only deploying staff to serve. Hopefully the feedback will be taken into account and we will work on a better experience for the guests because the location is great and the menu is ok.

Vandaag (26.02.2025) om 14.30 uur geweest. De koffie was goed, maar de focaccia was redelijk. De ober stuurde ons telkens naar onze tafel als we iets wilden bestellen. Toen ik hem aansprak, was zijn antwoord: "het is druk", terwijl er slechts enkele tafels bezet waren. Ik kom niet terug.

Delicious pizzas and snacks. Friendly atmosphere for an afternoon drink. As a point of improvement, it would be nice if the extraction system could be improved. Cooking smells and ventilation leave something to be desired, which can also make it a bit stuffy when it is busy.

Very cute place at the lake. I love the vibes, specially in summer. I haven't tried theirs pizzas tho.

Personeel is meer bezig met elkaar dan met hun gasten. Na een uur hebben we geen menukaart gehad. Het eten was oké op een van onze gerechten na wat aangebrand brand was. Omdat de service zo slecht was hebben we besloten om geen fooi te geven.

Great setting, awesome location literally by the water of lake Sloterplas. Very cozy space overall. Food is ok, though do not expect any great variety. Tasty though and fulfills once hunger :). Staff is friendly and sweet.

We were here for the first time two months ago, invited by friends. On that occasion, a huge amount went wrong. After a negative review, the owner contacted us and offered to come and eat again at their expense. So that we could experience that a dinner at the Boathouse can also be a good experience. We went last week and luckily it was a very nice experience. Excellent service and delicious food: we can recommend this experience to everyone.

Very nice place in Amsterdam on the water. Casual atmosphere. Not warm inside in winter / on cold days. We had pizza and it was really tasty. Management doesn't really have an eye for what is needed, so you have to indicate what you want carefully and more often (except for one lady, who certainly had an eye for it).

The restaurant has changed a lot, but not in a good way.. The previous owner had a great menu, now there is not much choice and it is not good. Yesterday the terrace was dirty, the staff incompetent, and not friendly. We could not order food because the staff was impossible to find, finally when we could order... the kitchen was closed. Lastly we paid for 1 beer and 1 coffee more than €10.00.. because they did not remove the bread and olives from the bill. It is really a shame, before I loved this cafe restaurant, now it is dirty, expensive and with terrible service. PITY

Yay and no - I would have liked to give 5 stars, because the seating is so lovely and the other food was fine, but my plate of gnocchi was a real missed opportunity. Lots of gnocchi, a few shreds of cherry tomatoes (after asking the kitchen, a few extra cold/raw tomatoes were added) and the burrata had been transformed into a kind of herb cheese? It was delicious mozzarella, but unfortunately not on the plate.

Service can be a bit of slow but all in all it’s a good place.

We came around 4pm to have a drink. We get denied the entrance because they were understaffed just for a beer?!?! They had plenty of space on the terrace but apparently they just don’t want to work….

We came here around 16.00 today and the terrasse wasn’t full. We just wanted to stop for a drink. The waitress came to refuse us because they were overwhelmed. This is completely crazy and unacceptable when you see more than half of the terrasse free and the full staffing having dinner at the same time. Definitely don’t recommend, worst service ever. You should be ashame …

Lovely country estate in and outside the city. A nice stop for us during a long walk through the urban nature of Amsterdam West. Hospitality is suitable for trendy Amsterdam. And you can also rent boats here

We were invited by our friends to have dinner at the "Boat House". They had been here many times before and it was always good. After last night they think differently about this... What went wrong? Arrival at 6 p.m., had made a reservation. Had to wait 10 minutes for the host to get up from the table where he was chatting to show us our table. (And no, no one else was able to do this, we asked.) After 70 minutes we asked the wait staff if we could order something to drink a second time? And when our main course (3 "pizzas") would come? After 80 minutes we asked again if we could get our drinks (which had been ready for 8 minutes)? We also said that they would have another 10 minutes to get our pizzas on the table. Then we would leave. Only then did we see jump scares and action in the kitchen. Good that you had insight into that. For example, we saw that the chefs had been chatting with their arms folded for quite some time after the orders of a large group of people had been processed. The "pizzas" were served just when we actually wanted to leave. And I write “pizzas” on purpose. Because a pizza that is so soft that you have to roll it up to put it on your fork should not be called pizza. See photos. We were given correspondingly lame reasons why we had been overlooked and why it had taken so long: 1 it was busy... you know this in advance (Friday evening and reservations) and then you run faster or you let more people come. 2 The tickets are processed on a first-come, first-served basis and that large group had already ordered while sitting outside... We were already inside and our starters were already served before that group arrived. Moreover, there were people at a table next to us who did receive their "pizzas" shortly after the waiter had finished serving the group's first course. 3 that you have to roll up the "pizza" because it is so soft, that depends on the dough. There are different regions in Italy and each region has its own dough... We have been coming to Italy for many years, from north to south, from east to west. We have never been served such a weak meal before. No explanation was given as to why the host had made us wait 10 minutes (we did speak to him about this). For us, this was an experience that we want to spare everyone.

Very nice location, busy, lots of young people. You can rent a boat or a pedal boat there. And we had a nice drink and a meal. Very friendly service.

In the past I have had one of the most delicious meals ever in this place. Tonight it was the total opposite! It was a disaster in every way. Everything was messy and disorganised. So it rained as per weather forecast. ..happens all the time in Ireland. Weather does not justify poor service, menu not consistent with website and squashed into a space that could not accommodate us. Loud , Loud music blaring more suited for an Oasis gig if we could get tickets. ☘️

Really, really bad service. Came here without a reservation on 8/28 and asked if we could eat something (around 7:50 PM). We got a table and had to wait a very long time before we could order a bottle of wine and antipasti (but fine, it was busy). When the antipasti arrived we wanted to order a pizza but we were told that this was no longer possible because the kitchen had closed earlier than normal (this was around 8:40-8:45 PM). We would have liked to have been told this before we chose to take a seat, or we would have liked to have been given the opportunity to quickly order something before the kitchen closed. It was also too late for us to cycle somewhere else to go out for dinner, so we had to celebrate our anniversary with a pizza on the couch. Huge disappointment, and extra annoying because the service seemed to care very little. Very unprofessional attitude - I also recognize this in other reviews.

Nice place, service was very messy and slow the two times I was there.

We ate bitterballen and pizza at the restaurant with the most beautiful view around Osdorpplein. It was very nice and delicious. Our order arrived very late - we waited for about 1 hour. Customers who arrived after us were reached earlier, although we said there might be confusion, we were not taken seriously.

Delicious food in a nice location. Service could be better. We were not offered a menu and only when we had already had our drinks did someone pick up the plates of the previous guests. The table was also not cleaned.

Nice place with a beautiful view. If you come here on a weekday during the day, it’s quite pleasant and not loud. The food is okay, the service is very slow, but that’s common in the Netherlands, so just get used to it.

Best place to eat in the area by far. Very nice place, pizza is great and the rest of the courses are also quite good. Service is a bit slow sometimes and it’s getting quite hard to book a table.

Everything absolutely great! Apply good protection against mosquitoes, it is near the water and mosquitoes simply cause a nuisance.

We ate delicious pizza (best in Osdorp and surrounding areas) and had a drink after a day of sailing! When I read the review, it is never good enough for some people, we had a wonderful meal!
