Personeel is meer bezig met elkaar dan met hun gasten. Na een uur hebben we geen menukaart gehad. Het eten was oké op een van onze gerechten na wat aangebrand brand was. Omdat de service zo slecht was hebben we besloten om geen fooi te geven.

We were here for the first time two months ago, invited by friends. On that occasion, a huge amount went wrong. After a negative review, the owner contacted us and offered to come and eat again at their expense. So that we could experience that a dinner at the Boathouse can also be a good experience. We went last week and luckily it was a very nice experience. Excellent service and delicious food: we can recommend this experience to everyone.

Very nice place in Amsterdam on the water. Casual atmosphere. Not warm inside in winter / on cold days. We had pizza and it was really tasty. Management doesn't really have an eye for what is needed, so you have to indicate what you want carefully and more often (except for one lady, who certainly had an eye for it).

The restaurant has changed a lot, but not in a good way.. The previous owner had a great menu, now there is not much choice and it is not good. Yesterday the terrace was dirty, the staff incompetent, and not friendly. We could not order food because the staff was impossible to find, finally when we could order... the kitchen was closed. Lastly we paid for 1 beer and 1 coffee more than €10.00.. because they did not remove the bread and olives from the bill. It is really a shame, before I loved this cafe restaurant, now it is dirty, expensive and with terrible service. PITY

Yay and no - I would have liked to give 5 stars, because the seating is so lovely and the other food was fine, but my plate of gnocchi was a real missed opportunity. Lots of gnocchi, a few shreds of cherry tomatoes (after asking the kitchen, a few extra cold/raw tomatoes were added) and the burrata had been transformed into a kind of herb cheese? It was delicious mozzarella, but unfortunately not on the plate.

We came around 4pm to have a drink. We get denied the entrance because they were understaffed just for a beer?!?! They had plenty of space on the terrace but apparently they just don’t want to work….

We came here around 16.00 today and the terrasse wasn’t full. We just wanted to stop for a drink. The waitress came to refuse us because they were overwhelmed. This is completely crazy and unacceptable when you see more than half of the terrasse free and the full staffing having dinner at the same time. Definitely don’t recommend, worst service ever. You should be ashame …

Lovely country estate in and outside the city. A nice stop for us during a long walk through the urban nature of Amsterdam West. Hospitality is suitable for trendy Amsterdam. And you can also rent boats here

We were invited by our friends to have dinner at the "Boat House". They had been here many times before and it was always good. After last night they think differently about this... What went wrong? Arrival at 6 p.m., had made a reservation. Had to wait 10 minutes for the host to get up from the table where he was chatting to show us our table. (And no, no one else was able to do this, we asked.) After 70 minutes we asked the wait staff if we could order something to drink a second time? And when our main course (3 "pizzas") would come? After 80 minutes we asked again if we could get our drinks (which had been ready for 8 minutes)? We also said that they would have another 10 minutes to get our pizzas on the table. Then we would leave. Only then did we see jump scares and action in the kitchen. Good that you had insight into that. For example, we saw that the chefs had been chatting with their arms folded for quite some time after the orders of a large group of people had been processed. The "pizzas" were served just when we actually wanted to leave. And I write “pizzas” on purpose. Because a pizza that is so soft that you have to roll it up to put it on your fork should not be called pizza. See photos. We were given correspondingly lame reasons why we had been overlooked and why it had taken so long: 1 it was busy... you know this in advance (Friday evening and reservations) and then you run faster or you let more people come. 2 The tickets are processed on a first-come, first-served basis and that large group had already ordered while sitting outside... We were already inside and our starters were already served before that group arrived. Moreover, there were people at a table next to us who did receive their "pizzas" shortly after the waiter had finished serving the group's first course. 3 that you have to roll up the "pizza" because it is so soft, that depends on the dough. There are different regions in Italy and each region has its own dough... We have been coming to Italy for many years, from north to south, from east to west. We have never been served such a weak meal before. No explanation was given as to why the host had made us wait 10 minutes (we did speak to him about this). For us, this was an experience that we want to spare everyone.

Very nice location, busy, lots of young people. You can rent a boat or a pedal boat there. And we had a nice drink and a meal. Very friendly service.

In the past I have had one of the most delicious meals ever in this place. Tonight it was the total opposite! It was a disaster in every way. Everything was messy and disorganised. So it rained as per weather forecast. ..happens all the time in Ireland. Weather does not justify poor service, menu not consistent with website and squashed into a space that could not accommodate us. Loud , Loud music blaring more suited for an Oasis gig if we could get tickets. ☘️

Really, really bad service. Came here without a reservation on 8/28 and asked if we could eat something (around 7:50 PM). We got a table and had to wait a very long time before we could order a bottle of wine and antipasti (but fine, it was busy). When the antipasti arrived we wanted to order a pizza but we were told that this was no longer possible because the kitchen had closed earlier than normal (this was around 8:40-8:45 PM). We would have liked to have been told this before we chose to take a seat, or we would have liked to have been given the opportunity to quickly order something before the kitchen closed. It was also too late for us to cycle somewhere else to go out for dinner, so we had to celebrate our anniversary with a pizza on the couch. Huge disappointment, and extra annoying because the service seemed to care very little. Very unprofessional attitude - I also recognize this in other reviews.

We ate bitterballen and pizza at the restaurant with the most beautiful view around Osdorpplein. It was very nice and delicious. Our order arrived very late - we waited for about 1 hour. Customers who arrived after us were reached earlier, although we said there might be confusion, we were not taken seriously.

Delicious food in a nice location. Service could be better. We were not offered a menu and only when we had already had our drinks did someone pick up the plates of the previous guests. The table was also not cleaned.

Nice place with a beautiful view. If you come here on a weekday during the day, it’s quite pleasant and not loud. The food is okay, the service is very slow, but that’s common in the Netherlands, so just get used to it.

Best place to eat in the area by far. Very nice place, pizza is great and the rest of the courses are also quite good. Service is a bit slow sometimes and it’s getting quite hard to book a table.

Everything absolutely great! Apply good protection against mosquitoes, it is near the water and mosquitoes simply cause a nuisance.

we delen de mening van anderen, toen ze begonnen waren we enthousiast, nu is het over de top met van alles mis. "homemade" limonade is een glaasje plat water (net 15 cl) met een pietepeuterig scheutje vlierbloesemsiroop, die je nauwelijks meer proeft na de tweede slok als alle ijsklontjes gesmolten zijn en dat voor bijna 5 euro. Op een zonnige dag zit je in de volle zon, blijkbaar is schaduw en risico's van verbrnading en huidkanker niet meer belangrijk voor deze generatie. Bediening komt aardig over, maar is eigenlijk onverschillig als het er op aankomt. We slaan het terras maar verder over, hoe leuk de plek dan ook mag zijn. Met eigen drankje in het gras ernaast is een stuk leuker en aantrekkelijker (vooral prijstechnisch)

We skip the terrace, no matter how nice the place may be. Having your own drink in the grass next to it is a lot more fun and attractive (especially price-wise)

Inmiddels kom ik al een paar jaar bij het boothuis. In het begin wat opstartproblemen. Daarna leek het iets beter te gaan. Het terras is top top! De bediening rent zich rot( tenminste een deel) . Het management is , denk ik ronduit slecht. Drankjes komen niet door (zelf gaan halen), ijsblokjes op, ingrediënten pizza op, muntthee niet vers, wc vies. Geen papier maar wel papierenhanddoekjes, plas en nat op de vloer. Wat een parel zou kunnen zijn, is het niet. Terwijl je echt goud in handen heb. Laat een goede manager het oppakken en regelen.

NOT suitable for large groups! Arrived at half past six and still no food at 8 o'clock. Staff and kitchen cannot handle the number of reservations they take. Drinks are not served and if you ask for them they will be charged again. The drinks that do arrive are not cold or are given to other guests. If you ask after 1.5 hours where the pizzas are, the person cannot switch gears or come up with solutions. Left at 9am with no food or apology. Never experienced such bad service before.

Restaurant needs renovations for sure. Food is simple and good. Service can be improved.

Good food with a Lively view , friendly and efficient staff .

We ordered drinks at the bar upon arrival and were told not to order food because the kitchen was too busy, even though the inside was empty and the outside was only half full. After waiting for 30 minutes with no drinks, we decided to leave and informed the staff, who couldn’t find our order anyway. It’s a shame that such a great place has such poor service.

Monday 14:00, 5 tables were occupied. Waited 40 minutes to place an order, left.

Youthful get together spot on a cool lake surrounded by lush trees - a pleasant place to wind down after a fast paced day 😊

Reservation made on Saturday for 6 people at 1900. We arrived on time however as it was very busy there was no table available so a young man behind the bar asked us to wait and we would be called when the table was ready. We waited for 30 minutes and not once were we asked if we wanted a drink or aperatief . In the meantime a table became free near the reception so I asked if we could take this table and I was asked again if we had a reservation as it was busy! I asked straight away if we could order some drinks and have the menu. 20 minutes later still no drinks so I politely asked one of the staff whether we could get our 6 drinks. 10 minutes later one of the staff after walking around for a while asked whether the two drinks on the tray were for us. At 2015 I informed the young man at the reception that we were leaving and told them the service was atrocious. He agreed. We then booked a table at The Roos Restaurant on the Johan Huizingalaan a little further away, spent Eu 600 and had a wonderful meal with 'old-fashioned' service. I have been at the Boothuis a couple of times throughout the last couple of months as the location is excellent and the food is generally good however the quality of service leaves a lot to be desired. You really need to sort this out.

Food did not arrive due to communication error with the kitchen. I just left.

I last visited this restaurant for the second time on a quiet Thursday night, and it took a shocking hour to get two pizzas. The service was terrible, our waitress inattentive and didn't check on us during the long wait. When the pizzas finally arrived, they were not the ones we had ordered, and there was no apology for the delay. Finally at the cash registry we were told that we cannot split the bill equally. I left disappointed and won't be returning.

Super tasty pizzas in a super cool location

Nice service, great place and delicious food. Birthday celebrated with 15 people, including 3 children. Ordered everything in stages, anti pasta, risotto balls and different pizzas. We shared everything and that went great. We ate inside at a long table. After dinner it became dry outside and there was still room on the terrace. We could all have a nice cup of coffee there. Thank you for the service!

We have been here twice now and I think this is the best outing in Amsterdam. Beautiful on the lake. Good food. Very friendly staff, nothing is too much and also affordable!

While the pizzas were tasty and reasonably affordable in the beginning... that has now completely changed. Pizza with raw toppings - and no, not Napolitano style, just raw. And then the prices. From €10.50 to suddenly €15.50 for a margaritha pizza? Unacceptable. We've been there five or six times now, but never again. Also, the service is slow and almost nonchalantly annoying.

The cafe has a great space and terras but absolutely no capacity to manage the orders and service during “busy times” aka the combination of weekends and sunny weather (and the summer hasn’t even started, and it was around 75% full). We waited more than 30 minutes for a coffee and a beer (and desserts but they never came, even by the time we were done with the drinks). My observation: A couple of waitresses were pretty proactive and tried their best to apologize to customers for late delivery of orders etc. but some were looking completely lost and aloof. All in all, I can not unfortunately recommend this place for a weekend visit. I have previously visited this place for coffee and food a couple of times and it was always in the first part of the day on a weekday - then it’s chill and relaxing, completely different situation.

Lovely place ruined by the worst service I’ve ever seen. Got there and waited 30 minutes to get half of our drink order. Another 30 minutes after ordering food, the waitress tells us that 80% of the menu is sold out, including all of the pizzas (how does that happen). We understand and end up getting snacks, they were delivered without cutlery and the waitress was again taking forever so I had to get up and get us cutlery myself. 40 minutes later we see a table ordering pizzas.. Water was delivered after an hour wait… not exaggerating it was ridiculous. But the view is lovely

I love this place. Especially during the week in an early afternoon - just perfect to relax and meditate. There is no better place in the neighbourhood. The food is 👍 the staff is mostly friendly and attentive, and the ambient is the best! Neat interior design, lovely terrace (perhaps the outdoor furniture needs some restoration).

As a local resident, I regularly come for coffee. Reserved Friday lunch at 1 p.m. for 2 people. Upon arrival, the terrace was pleasantly busy, but certainly not full. Still, it was quite chaotic. It's a shame that the staff who were regular faces two years ago now change a lot and often. Menus were not there so I picked them up inside. Received two dirty looking ones. It took a long time before service came, he was clearly walking alone and overloaded. With the message that it would take at least 30+ minutes, the kitchen was behind. No problem. I thought I'd order a soup that would be easy for them. Was no longer available. Not even the salad. Reason: they are going to change menu on Monday, so ingredients were not ordered. Crazy decision between Ascension weekend and Pentecost weekend but who am I to judge. In the end, our foccacia came quite quickly. However, our ice tea never arrived. Ordered one more time then. Everything else is fine, although the waiter could wear a longer T-shirt so that I don't look at saggy pants with construction worker slits when he clears the table opposite and I take a bite. Oh yes, the toilets were very unkempt. Next time I'll just stick to my cup of coffee and newspaper at 10am. Good luck this season!

Dead sparrow Even though the weather was brutal, we were really looking forward to an evening at Boat House. A reservation for eleven people had been made three weeks in advance and the confirmation wished us a pleasant visit. Nice. Because there had been two birthdays, even the almost 92-year-old great-grandfather had come to the capital to join us. Another evening with the grandchildren. Probably for the last time because it is also becoming increasingly difficult to move behind the walker. Moreover, a night out is quite busy and tiring. The taxi dropped him and some other fellow guests at the door, the rest went by bicycle or with their own transport. With some pain, effort and helping hands, he managed to get in and 2.5 hours later he would be picked up again. It was pleasantly busy inside. So pleasantly busy, in fact, that there was no room left for us. The place was packed. Grandpa was put on a bench for a moment. The rest were allowed to wait at the entrance. The food smelled delicious, it was very child-friendly and the view was beautiful. The kitchen also looked nice and in any case, a prime location, but we already knew that because we had been before. The waitress knew about our reservation but said there was no room. We believed her. If guests who have reserved do not show up, it is called a no show, but I do not know the name for the reverse situation. The question was whether there would still be room, but the chance was said to be small. We heard the manager had made a mistake and (last minute?) accepted a large group of 35 guests. They ate slower than expected and that had nothing to do with the rumor that they were from the Municipality of Amsterdam. Everyone had a great time inside and they were laughing and beaming. Because we looked quite disappointed and were also a bit in the way, our presence may not have been good for the atmosphere. The waitress, who couldn't do much about it, didn't like it either and said that the manager would call us the next day before 1 p.m. Fortunately, everyone else had a great time. We left a bit crying with all the birthday presents and an empty stomach. In the meantime it had started to rain very hard, so those tears could still flow. Grandpa didn't think it was optimally organized and said something like 'not once, but never again.' There was something to it. The manager was probably fired, which isn't nice either, because we haven't heard anything since.

Ook al was het weer bar en boos, we hadden echt zin in een avondje Boothuis. Drie weken van tevoren was er een reservering voor elf personen gemaakt en in de bevestiging werd ons alvast een fijn bezoek gewenst. Aardig. Omdat er twee jarig waren geweest was zelfs de bijna 92-jarige overgrootvader naar de hoofdstad gekomen om aan te schuiven. Nog een keer een avondje met de kleinkinderen. Waarschijnlijk voor het laatst want ook achter de rollator wordt het steeds moeilijker voortbewegen. Bovendien is een avondje uit best druk en vermoeiend. De taxi zette hem en enkele andere disgenoten voor de deur af, de rest was fietsend of met eigen vervoer. Met wat pijn, moeite en helpende handen lukte het hem om binnen te komen en 2,5 uur later zou hij weer worden opgehaald. Binnen was het gezellig druk. Zo gezellig druk zelfs, dat er geen plek meer was voor ons. De zaak zat vol. Opa werd even op een bankje gezet. De rest mocht wachten bij de ingang. Het eten rook heerlijk, het was er bijzonder kindvriendelijk en het uitzicht was prachtig. De keuken zag er ook fraai uit en sowieso, een toplocatie maar dat wisten we al want we waren eerder geweest. De serveerster wist van onze reservering maar zei dat er geen plek was. We geloofden haar. Als gasten die gereserveerd hebben niet komen opdagen, heet dat no show, maar de naam voor de omgekeerde situatie ken ik niet. Of er nog plek zou komen was de vraag maar die kans werd klein genoemd. De manager had een foutje gemaakt hoorden we, en (last minute?) een grote groep van 35 gasten aangenomen. Die aten langzamer dan gedacht en dat had niets te maken met het gerucht dat ze van de Gemeente Amsterdam waren. Iedereen had het heel erg naar de zin binnen en men lachte en straalde. Omdat we nogal beteuterd keken en ook een beetje in de weg stonden was onze aanwezigheid wellicht niet zo goed voor de sfeer. De serveerster, die er ook weinig aan kon doen, vond het ook niet zo leuk en zei dat de manager ons de volgende dag voor 13.00 zou bellen. Gelukkig had voor de rest iedereen het heel erg naar zijn zin. Een beetje huilend zijn we met alle verjaardagscadeaus en een lege maag weer vertrokken. Inmiddels was het heel hard gaan regenen dus die tranen konden er ook nog wel bij. Opa vond het niet optimaal georganiseerd en zei iets van ‘niet eens, maar nooit meer.’ Zat wel wat in. Waarschijnlijk is de manager ontslagen, ook niet leuk, want we hebben niets meer gehoord.

Very nice place and especially in summer, being on the water is wonderful. Pizzas are quite large and freshly made! But unfortunately the Napolitana is always very sparsely supplied with anchovies...

After a walk around Sloterplas, we had a cappuccino + banana cake. When the weather is nice you can also sit outside by the lake. You can rent canoes, pedal boats and small sailing boats. You can have lunch and dinner here.

We went for a dinner to the boathouse. The food is good and we had a friendly waitress who was helpful. We had the feeling they are under staffed because it took a bit of time before our food got served and when it came it had cooled down a lot. We've found the young man behind the bar acting unpleasant and starting an argument when being asked to close the door. The boothuis is a nice spot but this is not how I like to spent my Friday evening. This is the reason we give two stars.

Been here for the first time and was surprised by the delicious food. Everything we ordered was very tasty!! Delicious pizzas!!! Delicious tiramisu and starters! The only tip: staff close the door to the outside more often when they walk outside so that the customers next to them are not always left in the cold.

Nice that there is a restaurant at this location. It feels a bit like being away in your own city. I had previously written a more favorable review, but I will adjust it anyway. The place remains great. It's a nice, slightly alternative place, which I quite like. Food was tasty too. But the service is really pitiful. Today everything that could go wrong went wrong again: only after 20 minutes of asking at the bar did someone come to take our order. Then came our drinks: I ordered ginger tea and got mint tea. My partner had coffee but no milk. Forgot spoons. So they were gone too. After a long time the sandwiches arrived, but the mozzarella had been forgotten... Even the payment went wrong. Anyway, nice place, the food is quite tasty, but guys, the service should be better. So no tip.

Nice place The way the Latte machiatto & cappuccino is served... the cookies were simply placed on the tray, the coffees are just like I ordered at a community center.... but the maximum price for questions, don't ask me about the taste. ... Unexpectedly nice restaurant on the water. Service is smooth and very friendly. Pizza 5 cheese was very tasty, nice thin base, just not hot (anymore). Good tonic and ginger ale (Fever Tree) and good coffee. Not very atmospheric, but I guess it will be better in the summer! And cushions on the benches would not be an unnecessary luxury, it was quite hard... but it was fun to eat there!

If you really want to get away from Amsterdam, you can just stay in Amsterdam. Nieuw West, terrace on the wide Sloterplas. No frills, tasty pizzas, children's paradise. The place for traditional slippers through the autumn leaves in a moment. Nice! We were completely out of it for a while.

A hidden Italian gem, hidden behind a piece of forest edge, on the water of Sloterplas... With the arrival of this concept here, a bright future awaits them! The food (pizza Diavola and Melanzane) is excellent, Italians in the kitchen, and the prices are right. We would love to come back here soon, great that it is almost in our backyard! And to finish with their delicious coffee, doppio, the experience is complete for me. My girlfriend is also a big fan now, well then you know... ;-)

This is my favorite place in Nieuw-West! Beautiful place on the water, always a warm welcome and delicious Italian food with fresh ingredients. It is also a child-friendly location.

What a beautiful location on the Sloterplas. In the summer, relax on the terrace on the water, in the winter, cozy inside with a view of the lake. Delicious pizzas and very nice attentive service!

Very beautiful and cosy place! Nice food and good service! I went with friends on a cold, windy and rainy winter evening and the atmosphere inside matched perfectly with the weather! Nice location as well! Thank you very much and I’ll definitely going to visit again!

Hidden gem next to the Sloterplas. Tasty (Italian) food. Good map, nice decor

This afternoon I ate a delicious sandwich and a full, tasty autumn soup in a quiet atmosphere, nice and attentive people in the service but also in the café restaurant itself, with a view over the lake surrounded by many beautiful trees in autumn decoration. I considered myself lucky.

Eten was niet spannend, bediening was niet op orde. Was niet drukke avond maar bediening was zo on professioneel dat het overkwam alsof de zaak vol zat. Vieze tafels, geen aandacht, te laat eten uit de keuken halen. Etc, etc. Jammer mooie plek in Amsterdam

The food was average not much variety, specially after the waiter explain they didn't have salmon and veggies. To have attention from the waiter it was mission impossibile, I had to go to the counter.

Even tot rust komen? Lekker met dit mooie weer in het zonnetje zitten? Dan is dit wel de plek!

Boothuis is een heerlijke plek om af te spreken met vrienden. Wat mij zo bevalt is dat de bediening erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam is. Zowel de lunch als het eten s’avonds is heel smaakvol. Lekker vegetarisch. Gezellige sfeer. Nu het kouder wordt is het heel sfeervol en open binnen. Ook om je kinderen mee naar toe te nemen. Of je hondje. Zelfs spelletjes zijn er voor de kinderen. Geen gedoe maar laagdrempelig Lekker wandelen langs het water en dan wat drinken en eten. Echt een aanrader!
