JAAP in Middenmeer

I have never received such poor service from a waitress and then a manager in my life. I asked what was in the stew and the waitress said " I dont know, I dont work in the kitchen". I asked her if she can find out and she looked visibly annoyed at me. 10mins later she had not returned to give me my answer, but proceeded to serve 3 other tables and take their orders. One of our guests had to get up and go over to her to ask her to come back and take our order. 5mins later I then got up and went over to the manager to let her know that we hadnt been served yet and she told me to sit down. At that point our table of 11.decided to leave and when I was paying I let the manager know why we were leaving and she told me "if you let me talk I'll explain". Poor service, even worse management. Its not wonder they only have 2.9 stars.

Old fashioned style cafe. Food is pretty bad.

You add little to no whipped cream to your chocolate milk. And the chocolate milk isn't warm. Such a shame.

The skeeve skaes was much more fun and better. The music is always way too loud. Drinks are way too expensive!

Tasteless pea soup from a carton, hair in my rye bread, all sorts of unknown things floating in my tea. I did get a new one. Paid for two soups, only got one. A verbal battle to prove I paid for two. You have to order everything at the bar, no service. You have to pick up your own food and drinks without any indication of when they'll be ready. The menu on the table doesn't match what you can order. The chocolate milk was watery. In short, a huge disgrace.

Friendly staff, beautiful location with plenty of space. The team isn't very well-coordinated. Many things are forgotten or go wrong. After 5 p.m., you can't order pancakes, which is quite strange. It's a location with more potential than it's currently being exploited.

What a disgrace at the restaurant! The ham sandwich is one slice of ham for €5.75. The wait was long, the fries were soggy and not tasty. Never again for me.

I was poorly assisted and waited a total of 35 minutes for 2 small fries that were super small.

This restaurant has the potential to be a great place! It's located at the Jaap Eden ice rink, warm and cozy, but unfortunately, it feels like it's lost its charm. The staff isn't well-coordinated or helpful to customers. We arrived at 4:30 and were seated outside. You have to order inside. Fries weren't available until 5:00, but a (cold) ham sandwich was available separately. They don't serve food until you reach your table outside, which is a shame because there were plenty of staff and it wasn't busy. We couldn't find a different menu than what you'd expect, which is available from 5:00 pm onward, when the kitchen opens. They didn't offer any assistance with this either. The food was okay, but nothing special. The fries came with far too little mayonnaise, which is a shame. Hopefully, they'll address the many feedback points, which can be found in the reviews.

Expensive, limited options, and the staff is extremely unfriendly and anything but helpful. Even at the bar, I had to wait 10 minutes before anyone even looked at me.

I'd go somewhere else for a drink! The food was terrible and way too expensive.

The staff, especially the bartenders, will make your evening a phenomenal experience

In het verleden regelmatig gezellig gegeten. Het eten is eenvoudig maar ok, maar de laatste tijd is het gewoon koud binnen.

Good and fast service, but there was football being played all the time with ice cubes behind the bar and caps were being shot off the soft drink bottles that were just coming into the room. Beer was tasty, just like the bitterballen

The quality of food has really went down over the years. I come here every time after a hockey game. The quality of a 17 euro burger was pretty bad. I returned it so they could at least make a little effort to make it presentable. Before and after photos of the bun. Idk who thinks this is ok but it’s not. Lol I think everyone who’s had this experience with their food should do the same so they can improve. And as a customer you deserve a nice warm meal when it’s cold outside. The staff is really wonderful though. And the atmosphere is great! It’s a nice vibe after a hockey game.

Very mediocre staff with little sense of hospitality...

It's a shame that you now have to pay more and get less. You order a Jaap snack board, consisting of tempura shrimp, burrata, carpacio and tacos... for 30 euros. Sorry, it wasn't worth it.

Potentially a great cozy place, but bar staff are very young and hardly managed, which resulted in a long wait at the bar for our drink... and then €6 for a beer is a lot of money! But I'm sure this can be improved, perhaps the start of the skating season? Success!

Despite de number of people at midday it was still enjoyable. The service is fast and kind

Today after ice hockey training, something to eat and drink. There were a number of employees standing around chatting without looking up or around. Finally someone came and took an order for poffertjes and appetizers and of course something to drink. Hot bites came after a while, but let's chat. After the hot food was finished, the drinks came. Never experienced bottles of cold drinks being served after hot food. Catering is a profession and not for uninterested young people. Too bad, it's a nice, atmospheric tent.

Nice place but no food served at 3pm, only apple pie. So many ads and photos for stamppot around the rink and nothing there when you go inside :'(

Do not order gnocci with spinach (gluten-free) here. Really so dirty! Because I was quite hungry, I ate part of it, but an hour later I still had a bad aftertaste and a pain in my stomach. My daughter also tasted it and found it unpalatable. Even though I told them that it really wasn't tasty, there was no compensation, they just made me pay the full price. You have been warned!

Gister - op de voorlaatste dag van het schaatsseizoen - na de wedstrijd van Amsterdam Tigers hier neergestreken om een kipsateetje te eten. Die was snel bezorgd en smaakte prima. Vriendelijke service. Na vandaag gaan ze sluiten en verbouwen. Ben benieuwd. Tot in het nieuwe seizoen!

Where to begin? There are many waiters but only a couple seem to know what to do. Most waiters at the bar look annoyed, like they do not enjoy their job. Some are welcoming and not very friendly. You have to wait near the bar and take your drinks to the table. And the drinks are too expensive. It's a shame. It is a cosy place.

De aanbieding was koffie met appeltaart met slagroom €5. Ik bestelde 1 koffie 4 cappuccino en 4 appeltaart en moest 35 afrekenen omdat de aanbieding niet opging voor cappucino. Dat vind ik gemeen.

Lauwe koffie. Lauwe patat in schaaltje gestort zodat mayo bakje was bedolven. Moet je zelf maar even graaien om het bakje eruit te vissen. En ook nog een groen stukje friet. Kan dit niet beter?

Aardig personeel, goede prijzen en een gezellige sfeer. Lekker plekkie om een biertje te doen na het schaatsen.

Neem brood mee, want Jaap opent pas laat.

Fijne plek om even wat te eten/ drinken na het schaatsen. Een verzoek: kunnen jullie de tijden op Google maps up to date houden? Ik stond nu met een clubje mensen voor een dichte deur om 16.00.

Leuk en vriendelijk personeel. Redelijke prijzen en veel ruimte. Het enige nadeel is dat ik mijn vrouwelijk gezelschap niet kon inruilen. Dat verpeste de sfeer erg maar daar kon het personeel natuurlijk weinig aan doen.

Knus en, ondanks de afwezigheid van een bak water, een volwaardig strand.

Jaap is al jaren mijn "buurman" maar wij zijn er pas nu gaan eten. Echt een verrassing, zo leuk en lekker. Prettige ontvangst, leuk ingericht, attent personeel en heerlijk eten en drinken. Prijs / kwaliteit is echt heel goed. Een aanrader en voor ons zeker niet de laatste keer.

Gezellig café, fijne plek om na het schaatsen even te zitten. Maar je wordt niet erg gastvrij behandeld, is mijn ervaring. Bijna wantrouwend...dat is toch niet nodig?

Het gaat de goede kant op. Het lijkt er op dat wat betreft de bediening het bij eetcafe Jaap nu eindelijk de goede kant op gaat, Rollen zijn duidelijker verdeeld , alleen is het niet altijd voor iedereen duidelijk bij wie besteld moet worden. De stamppot was in vergelijking met de vorige keer ook een stuk beter. los kannetje jus en mosterd erbij was wel fijn geweest. Bedienend personeel heel vriendelijk.

Café-Restaurant Jaap is de voortzetting van De Skeeve Skaes, hét restaurant bij de Jaap Edenbaan. De huur van De Skeeve Skaes is na lange tijd - en een lange, onplezierige procedure - opgezegd. Qua locatie is Jaap er op vooruit gegaan: het restaurant is wat ruimer, er zijn een paar leuke hoeken en het oogt allemaal wat moderner. De keuken is ongeveer vergelijkbaar qua assortiment, alleen de variatie in koffie is wat groter geworden. De prijzen zijn iets verhoogd, dat is helaas wel merkbaar, en de kwaliteit van frieten, saté of soep is matig. Vooral de bediening is echter, ook na twee jaar, bedroevend slecht. Daar kan het individuele personeel niet zoveel aan doen. Ook dit café-restaurant doet het namelijk met voortdurend wisselende mensen, meestal jong en/of student, die geen enkele binding hebben met het vak, de locatie of de mensen. Het is dus, al met al, geen plezier om hier te wachten (meestal lang), te bestellen of bediend te worden. Maar aangezien er weinig keuze is gaan schaatsers en schaatspubliek hier toch maar zitten. Hetgeen me toch met enige heimwee terug doet denken aan de aanstekelijke vrolijk- en vriendelijkheid van De Skeeve Skaes.
