It is worth the experience, truly amazing.

We were strolling along the Leiden canals when we happened upon a traditional looking Chinese restaurant. It was close to dinner time so we went inside. We ordered prawn rice rolls and dry stirred fried beef. We really loved the food because it tasted authentic. The food server was very helpful and spoke to us in English.

Great atmosphere, delicious Chinese food. The best prawn rice rolls I’ve had anywhere, even including Shanghai and Singapore. Everything was really great quality, good flavours and lovely service.

Had a lovely evening with truly authentic food there! I can recommend it 100% to those looking who appreciate good Chinese food.

I would not recommend the duck. It's not fresh, it was dry and hard. I didn't enjoy it. The dim sum on the other hand was pretty good. The atmosphere in the restaurant is really nice, but it was almost empty.

Chinese tomato soup way too sour. Nasi is dry and the foe yong hai very tasteless. Babi pangang was decent but nothing special. There are much better Chinese restaurants in Leiden, so I would just order from there; they are even faster with delivery too.

A very well-maintained place with a true Asian feel. As soon as I entered, I truly felt like I was in China. High-quality, authentically flavored food, quick and friendly service, and fair prices (my dishes were so generous, I couldn't finish everything). I'll definitely be back!

The website and the restaurant window state that they are on vacation and therefore closed. The real reason they are closed is that the Dutch Labor Inspectorate closed them after repeated violations of the rules. Be honest and transparent with your customers!

We live here in Leiden for so long, but only recently discovered this amazing dim sum place. This restaurant is truly authentic according to my Hong Kong friends and myself as a Taiwanese. Do not be fooled by the sign of the restaurant that gives off a Chinese fast food takeaway vibe, this place truly serves the most delicious dim sum dishes ever! All the dishes are amazing, the service is excellent, and the place is spacious and comfortable.

Until now, I’ve known Asian Palace as an old-fashioned traditional Chinese Indonesian restaurant (chin.ind.rest), where you get value for money. Highlights for me at the time were the crispy vegetables with garlic and the sizzling teppan dishes. Probably the restaurant is serving more traditional Chinese dishes to attract a bigger audience of Chinese students in town. Recently I was there again and to my surprise they now also have an extensive dim sum menu (which was not yet available on this scale in Leiden). Dim sum is handmade, less subtle and more expensive than I am used to but of decent quality and with a variety of steamed or fried and vegetarian options.

I have been eating here frequently for the past few years. Food is consistently good and the service is good and quick.

I was skeptical about this restaurant for years. It was near the Beestenmarkt, would it be any good? A customer in my store told me about a year ago that Asian Palace also served dim sum (a positive). I'd remembered it all this time, and now I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt. When we arrived, the restaurant was full. The Asian cuisine was particularly evident. This gave me hope. We had already made a reservation and were politely shown to our table. Although you can also order à la carte, we decided to stick to dim sum (our goal). We ordered about eight hot dishes from the order form. Time to eat! What delicious dim sum they have here! Fantastic siu mai, hakao, char siu rolls, wonton, and more! They also have delicious ice cream and desserts to complete the meal. Meanwhile, tables finished their meals and others started coming back. Since we're true foodies, we were really happy. So happy that I would definitely come back for the regular menu and have since recommended it to others! From now on, I no longer have to go to Amsterdam, Rotterdam or The Hague for delicious Chinese food!

Really nice to have a Cantonese restaurant in Leiden where they serve nice Dim Sum. They also have delicious radish cake and lamb dishes. Also baby friendly and nice staff. Also a nice place to sit for a while to relax and drink tea. Much better than all the typical dutch 'Chinese / Indonesian' restaurants in the Leiden area!

We had lunch there about a month or two ago and it was really tasty. We loved the beef broccoli and dim sum. I also ordered about a week and a half ago and it was really good. We ordered pad thai, beef broccoli and chicken with cashews.

This restaurant is listed as Caishen Restaurant and Shanghai Garden on Google Maps. Despite the different reviews and ratings, they're both the same establishment. The waitress at this Cantonese restaurant didn't speak Chinese and was arrogant and rude. The steamed buns I ordered weren't cut the way I wanted them. While the menu offered multiple ways, she didn't confirm the recipe and simply accepted their own version. A few of the dishes were okay, but most of the steamed buns were clearly frozen supermarket items, which was disappointing given the poor value.

Friendly and helpful staff. The menu seemed a bit chaotic to my daughter and me, but that was the only criticism. The food was delicious. Good service. Highly recommended.

Very friendly staff, good food with reasonable price! According to the staff, the restaurant has opened for 40 years! The radish cake, beef changfen (牛肉腸粉） and taro pastry really made my day 😋

Being of Chinese descent myself, I was very curious when I heard that Asian Palace was going to serve dim sum. So, I recently sat down for dim sum with some family members. Besides the appetizers, we also opted for Ho Fun noodles and rice porridge. We all agreed that the dishes were delicious. The restaurant staff were friendly and helpful. It also makes the atmosphere more convivial when you can share a laugh. We used to go to The Hague for dim sum, but the quality at Asian Palace is just as good. It's great to be able to enjoy authentic Chinese food in our own city. We'll definitely be doing this more often!

A nostalgic experience I used to enjoy the dimsum at Shanghai Garden in Delft, and was sad when they closed. To my surprise, the same quality and flavors are now back at Asian Palace in Leiden. The food is just as great as before, which brought back good memories. The interior could use a bit of a facelift, but it’s still comfortable to sit and enjoy a meal. The only downside is parking, you can’t park directly in front, so you’ll need to use a nearby parking garage or lot. On the other hand, it’s very accessible if you’re traveling by public transport. All in all, a wonderful rediscovery of an old favorite.

A large restaurant with somewhat chaotic service, including constantly changing servers and forgotten drink orders. The food was decent, but the vegetables in my vegetarian dish could have been stir-fried a bit more. I almost broke my teeth on it and left half of it. The prices are a bit higher than at a typical Chinese restaurant, but that might be due to the "touristy" location.

Asian palace has eat in dim sum now. We don't have to go to the hague for fancy dimsum. It is GOOD.

Their Cantonese dim sum, spring rolls, pancakes, etc. are all hand-made and taste very good. The shrimp Q-bombs are delicious and are not pre-frozen. Highly recommended!

Een vriendin en ik gaan iedere paar maanden naar een Chinees restaurant. Asian Palace blijft favoriet. De menu's zijn top en de mensen zijn heel vriendelijk.

The food is very different then what is on offer at other Chinese restaurants in the Netherlands. I understood it is Hong Kong style. It is very nice, most enjoyed the chicken cashew dish! Service was nice and attentive. Parking is a bit of a challenge, try the “Mospoort” garage in five minutes distance.

A good Cantonese restaurant, the barbecue is delicious and the sauce is amazing! I ordered Pumpkin Pork Ribs Rice Noodles with Black Bean Sauce. It was stir-fried, sticky, and quite delicious. The chicken feet were a bit bland, so-so. The beef tastes very fishy and has a strong offal smell. The interior decoration has the feel of an old-fashioned restaurant, and you will be transported back to China in a second!

We have been ordering here for quite a few years, also with our parents or just together. The food is always good, on time and the service is always personal and pleasant. We placed another order last week with our own chosen delivery time. They were an hour early and because we still had to shower the children, we unfortunately couldn't accept the food. Even though they had to drive from Leiden to Voorschoten, it was not difficult at all and we got our food delivered on time an hour later. Everything is freshly prepared again, warm and with a friendly smile and apologies from the always cheerful and friendly delivery person from Asian Place. All in all, highly recommended for anyone who likes Asian cuisine and good service. Thank you again and we will order again soon.

alot of times when i ordered here, i took the babi pangang with sauce on the side instead of on the meat. ALOT o fthe times the meat looks like left overs. very small pieces and full of fat. i dont order anything here anymore . the only time i come here is for the roedjak sauce. it's nice and spicy. i just make rice, meat and veggies on my own and only come here for the roedjak sauce. i recommend that, but alot of the times their food is disappointing. not good for the pricing they have.

Now that Shanghai Garden has moved to Asian Palace with a new dim sum menu, this restaurant is highly recommended!

The place was empty and the service was still really slow, but that was not the worst part of it. I ordered the beef with broccoli and a soup. Everyone else ordered dim sum. My entry came right out then we waited and was very small for the very expensive price. I asked about the soup and it still took a very long time. The soup and the rest of the dim sum finally came out, just as my main dish cooled. The soup was hot and not too bad. The broccoli beef was just ok but not worth the price. The dim sum was so bad they did not finish any of it. It was like it sat all day before being served and tasted bad. To top all of it off, everything was very expensive. As we were leaving we heard a couple at another table say very loud to the waiter, these prices are very expensive. We just thought to ourselves, just wait until you taste the food... We will not be returning here.

Nice location in the center of Leiden. Recently also Dim Sum!!! Wonderfully close to home! Sufficient parking in the area. Beautiful appearance from the outside. Nicely located on the Beestenmarkt. Completely newly renovated inside, it looks really nice! Very attractive and nicely decorated. Plenty of seating and many Chinese visitors at the same time. If you like Dim Sum, this is the ideal place! We were 12 people and had a delicious meal. Staff very friendly and customer-oriented. They help you quickly and the dishes arrived at the table quickly. The noodle/bami dishes tasted delicious and well seasoned with many ingredients. Steam dishes were delicious! Well flavored and real authentic Chinese tapas snacks! Recommended: shrimp crêpes and rice sticks, noodle beef, spare rib, black bean sauce, chicken wings, ha kau and sieuw mai! We all had a great time together again. I'm sure we'll come back here often for Dim Sum! Definitely worth repeating!

We visited this restaurant tonight and had a superbe dinner. Seems the cooks came over from another restaurant from the owner recently and the menu has been completely updated. The entourage is really nice, the service is friendly and prompt but the food is the crown jewel. Lots of Cantonese options are prepared fresh and delicious by the cooks, making use of the finest ingredients. We had some of our favourites here tonight, aubergine with fish and broccoli with mushrooms. Yummmm. Next time, we'll try the Dim Sum. Finally, a really great Chinese restaurant in Leiden...

Chinese restaurant with a spacious and elegant room . Very gentle service. The food is tasty and comes in a generous portion. Make sure you try the dumplings too. Nice experience.

In our first wedding year turning we come here with my sweet Chinese wife. We have rich experience from chines restaurants. My wife told is a popular restaurant so I booked a table to us. The surround of the restaurant is nice next of a water downtown of Leiden. When we step in the restaurant the staff was kind and polite. We got a good table next of the window. Fast arrived the waiter to ask the drinks. And then the foods too. The restaurant atmosphere awesome really clean and ordered. Such a traditional Chinese. Everything beautiful. For the food don’t needed to wait too much we got in a few minutes later. My wife opinion this kitchen more southern Chinese than northern. The flavors was good the foods was good quality, not too spicy and not too fatty. The prices higher but this is logical we are in the downtown of Leiden. Was a good choice.

Great Chinese restaurant with delicious dishes with duck. The dish with peking duck and the duck with a sauce were outstanding. I also liked the Chinese tea a lot. The waiters are very nice, and the place has a lovely vibe.

When I'm in Leiden, I always enjoy coming here for the delicious food, both Thai and Chinese: lots of choice, nice and spicy and with a relatively large amount of vegetables. Atmospheric restaurant and very friendly ladies who serve.

Very pricy but amazing food and service

I ordered via Thuisbezogd. The site indicate 20-45 minutes delivery time, but it took them 1,5 hours to deliver. When I called they indicated delivery was under way, but it still took them hf an hour. The babi Pangang and foe yong hai were okayish, but the "kippen bolletjes" were disgusting: shredded meat, glued to a chicken bone with a very greasy taste... Will order somewhere else next time.

Allerbeste Aziatische restaurant van Nederland! Je krijgt altijd topkwaliteit met een super bediening.

De beste zalm in pikante saus die ik ooit heb geproefd. Alles heel mooi opgediend, zeer vriendelijke bediening, grote porties en locatie in het centrum. Prijzen zeer redelijk, gezien de grootte van de porties. Uit de grond van mijn hart een aanrader!

Prima Oosters eten. Altijd uitstekende kwaliteit, hele aardige mensen in de bediening.

Ontzettend aardig en attent personeel. Mooie gerechten op de kaart. Helaas waren er slechts 3 tafels bezet, meer bezetting was leuker geweest voor de sfeer.

Hete soep was oké, wel lekker maar miste wat smaak lagen. niks speciaals. De spekbabipangang was ook wel goed. Krokant, maar geen lekkere umami smaak. Wel maar 1 klein half gevuld bakje saus voor 2 bestellingen. De kip champignons was een zielloze waterige niet smakende bedoeling. Paar stukjes kip leken niet gaar. Gewoon echt zielig om zoiets mee te geven. Ik vond de ossenhaas chinese champignons ook waterig en niet smakelijk. Het saté stokje bij de maaltijd was echt smakeloos. Gewoon vies eigenlijk. Geen satésaus te vinden erop. Gekookte smaakloze kip. Koejoeloek was zacht en niet lekker. Treurig. Erg jammer voor meer dan 50eu. Uur wachten voor liefdeloos waterig smakeloos eten.

Lekker eten dat geserveerd word door echt hele lieve mensen.Echt een aanrader om daar een keer lekker te gaan eten.

Mooi restaurant, hele vriendelijke bediening. Beetje aan de prijs, maar heerlijk gegeten: Vooraf de Sui Kao soep (Wan Tan soep met garnalen flensjes, weer eens wat anders dan de "gewone" vleesballetjes). Daarna allebei een van de Teppan gerechten besteld: - Teppan Ha Kao (garnalen en groenten in een pikante saus) en -Teppan Tjung Sik Ngau (ossenhaas met champignons en tauge in licht pikante saus. Alles van voortreffelijke kwaliteit. Als je in Leiden lekker wilt eten is Asian Palace een aanrader!
