New Pearl City in Bos- en Gasthuisdistrict

My daughter, who just turned 3 and has only been potty trained for a few weeks, really needed to pee. When we finally arrived at the square, I went into Snackbar 5mei and was treated extremely unfriendly and sent away. New Pearl City was closed, but luckily they were friendly here (as usual; I’ve been coming here my whole life whenever we go for Chinese food). Even though they weren't open yet, we were allowed to come inside so she could use the toilet. That was great, it deserves a good review. Thanks again 🥰

Good and affordable food and great service

Ordered takeout here for the first time. Definitely worth repeating! The meat was tender and well-seasoned. Generous portions, enough for the two of us to easily eat for two days. This is going to be my go-to Chinese restaurant.

Picked up Nasi Rames. The dish has apparently been completely stripped down, incomparable to how it used to be. Rice with large pieces of leek, a fried egg, and atjar. Also a container of green beans in a very sweet tomato sauce and one meat dish, probably daging roedjak. This was so salty that I only ate two pieces. Bad, and I won't be coming back.

We ate here last week. The food is fresh and the price is good, but the staff really needs to stop pouring the sauce over the food themselves. The bowl was already there, but they just grabbed it to pour it all over the hot chicken. The food was super hot when it arrived; the spring rolls even looked like they had just come out of the oil, they were that fresh! I had ordered stir-fried vegetables with chicken and chicken curry with rice, with the request not to add anything extra. They prepared everything exactly as I had asked. Also very pleasant: the flavors were just right, not too sweet and not too salty. In addition, the portion size is very generous; for only €44, we were even able to eat from it for two days with some salad on the side. The price is reasonable and the service is very polite. It is nice to find a place that really listens to the customer and delivers quality. I can recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves tasty, fresh, and honest food. I've been coming here for over 30 years, and it remains my favorite Chinese restaurant, and now my children's too. I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good Chinese restaurant. Delicious food and always friendly service.

The food was disgusting... the atmosphere is nonexistent. The toilet is filthy.

Delivery is terrible. 2.5 hours waiting for 1 portion of noodles.

Delicious dishes and very friendly service

First time getting takeout. It was pretty good, the satay was great, and the bami pangang was also good. Nasi was also good. I'll definitely get more from them. The price was also reasonable. And you get quite a lot. Recommended 👍

Everything is tasteless, even the prawn crackers are fried in old oil. Satay? Seriously, as tough as shoe soles. Shrimp, boiled, no flavor at all. Noodles: no flavor at all. This chef really needs to take a course.

Really delicious and fast delivery!

Been a good neighborhood Chinese for years. Tasty satay babi with delicious thick sauce and spring roll. The noodles here are also nice and thick and not as flat as other things. Fast operation. Never had any problems with pickup. Added an asterisk after all these years. I hope this one stays!

Delicious food, everything is prepared for you and served neatly

Received wrong order. Refuse to deliver the correct order after contact. No cooperation whatsoever to correct the error. Ordered food for 100 euros and only received it for 50 euros. Bad food for a lot of money.

This Chinese restaurant is top notch. They rise far above the rest. There are many Chinese restaurants in Leiden, but this one is truly fantastic.

Sometimes the food is very tasty, other times way too salty. Again. The noodles and the Daging Roedjak were very salty. Too salty. Shame.

Strange that you have to pay €0.10 extra per container.

Tweede keer hier afhalen, altijd prima op tijd en erg lekker! Zou het zeker aanraden.

Gemoedelijk en rustig chinees-indisch restaurant met goed eten. Prettige bediening.

Wel vaker hier afgehaald. Zo zondag ook weer. Diverse gerechten besteld. Het was allemaal even lekker. De Hooko kip was heerlijk mals. En je proefde , dat de Foe Young Hai erg vers was. Alles was heerlijk. Personeel is zeer vriendelijk.

Very good chinese take-away and delivery. I would recommend The "Thaise kip" or the Peking Duck, very fragrant. The owners are very friendly.

Erg lekker eten voor een goede prijs, zeker een aanrader!

Kwalitatief goede chinees voor een heel redelijke prijs! Maandmenu is een aanrader!

Laten bezorgen. Heerlijk gegeten. Tjap tjoy, Babi pangang, Foe yong hai, Koe lou you, Pangsit Goreng. Allemaal heel lekker. Nieuwe kok? Was al lekker. Nu helemaal. Snelle bezorging.

Dit is wat ze bedoelen met "DE CHINEES". Heerlijk en voldoende gegeten en gedronken voor een meer dan schappelijke prijs. Echte Chinese ambiance met dito bedienend personeel. Hier kom je graag nog eens terug. Heel fijn adres om ontspannen en relaxed je papillen te kietelen. Klein maar zeker fijn.

Sate was taai, pindasaus niet lekker. dat leek wel uit een bakje van de Dirk te komen. geen originele chinese pindasaus. In de bami zat bijna geen groente. Wij gaan er nooit meer heen. Het was ver onder de maat helaas.

Goed eten voor een redelijke prijs

We waren im de buurt en wilde deze chinees een keer proberen. Nooit meer! Niet vers, leek te vaak opgebakken, nasi was hard en droog. Vlees in ketjap veelste zout en hard, aangebrand. Helaas, zonde vonden we, misschien was het pech, wie zal het weten.

De bestelling was op tijd Het eten was veelzijdig en lekker. De sate was mals en pindasaus was licht pittig goed op smaak. Pangang was gewoon goed en ossehaas ook goed op smaak. Zou hier zeker nog eens bestellen
