The meat really wasn't that good quality. I ordered an extra tzatziki because the half spoon on the gyro plate wasn't enough, and it cost an extra €5.50! I think that's too expensive!

Waited two hours for an order for two people. I asked the delivery driver why it was taking so long, and he told me we just had to be patient. No apology. Everything was cold and dry. Never again!!

We ate sets with lamb souvlaki and fries. Very tasty and large meal! On Friday evening there were only 4 people in the restaurant. We received our meals quickly and with kindness.

Delivered 35 minutes late. When I asked if it was still warm, the delivery driver said it was a long drive, so I threw everything in the trash. I called...! The owner treated me coldly and without any compassion...! I don't think she's a real Greek! Never order again.

Still the old familiar 'Greek' But unfortunately it's not what it used to be. If you order chicken gyros, you, as a stupid Dutchman, just get veal. It would be better if it was said that it is not there! For the people who think this is an authentic Greek: it is not Greek but a Turkish and they do not sell pork/gyros. the gyros is just dönner kebab and last week there was a dönner supplier unloading, the meat is surrounded with Greek salad and tzatziki and that makes it a bit Greek😄😂, besides; Which Greek sells Turkish pizzas?!😂 Go and speak a word of Greek and see if they understand...

Nice takeaway restaurant! But not to eat there. Pata with your food No no, it's not a fries shop! And then the mix grill, well what can I say about that! I just don't say anything, I think it's better.

Very tasty (chicken) gyros in large portions. If we don't feel like cooking, we often order gyros from Athene, pita or dish. Sometimes the food is a bit lukewarm upon delivery, but since we live in Oud-Alblas (and most restaurants there do not deliver for this reason) we don't mind that. The delicious food makes up for it. It is best to order via Athens instead of home delivery. That makes a big difference in terms of delivery time. In short, very satisfied!

This was the last time I order food here, again waiting 2 hours for a cold pita. Too bad they can't get this right.

Ordered food from Athene tonight. That was still not there after more than an hour. Called: "It's almost ready, it's coming" I was told. Sorry, but on a weekday evening, outside the school holidays and without football or anything like that on TV, it doesn't have to take that long, does it? The food was excellent, also in terms of temperature. So it made the wait worth it. But I still think it's too long.

Nice meal. But we thought waiting two hours for a few snacks was a long time. And this is already the umpteenth time! Drama service! So this was really the last time!

Tasty food. Quite good gyros and even the portion size. Who has priority when you sit in the restaurant? People in the restaurant or on-line orders? I dont know.. but 50min waiting time for something that is pre-made? Very very tight placed tables...

They say delivery takes between 30 and 55 minutes. It took 1h 40min. Word of advice: if you’re hungry, choose something else.

Ordered Kapsalon XL with rice and chicken gyros. Was very tasty! The portion size is just insufficient. Half full kapsalon and 2 small pieces of baklava. If you order from Montana or San Remo you literally get twice as much food for the same money.

We thought we'd order something nice. After waiting one and a half to two hours, the food arrives cold even though it 'just came out of the oven'. The operator could use a day off, because he was very unfriendly. 'The food is cold because of the weather' ... she said, just barely hearing 'figure it out' in the tone Normally good food, but I'm not going to take the risk of ordering with this customer unfriendliness.

I dare to eat out here with children. It looks like a restaurant, but it is a kind of Greek snack bar. No phoeha, chic fuss or neat company clothing, just fresh flowers on the table! Stands out starkly next to fake grapes and fake plaster ornaments. Food is very tasty

If you are looking for a unique and authentic Greek food experience, there is no better place to go than the Greek restaurant called "ATHENE". This restaurant offers the most delicious and fresh dishes you will ever taste. From the moment you walk into this restaurant you are welcomed with a warm and cozy atmosphere. The decor is classic and elegant, with beautiful photographs and paintings of Greek mythology adorning the walls. The staff are very friendly and attentive, and they go out of their way to ensure you have a great experience. But what really makes this restaurant unique is the food. All dishes are prepared with the freshest ingredients and served with tasty side dishes such as tzatziki, feta cheese and olives.

Delivery takes a VERY LONG time! And food cold. NOOOITTT MEEEEERRR!

When ordering it takes forever before you get it

We had dinner in the restaurant. It tasted quite nice. However, our portion sizes and presentation were not what we would expect from a Greek restaurant. Which made it a bit disappointing compared to what you expect for the price. The food also didn't seem home made. The chocolate ice cream cake was taken straight out of a package anyway. Hostess is friendly in contact, but has paid little attention to us. She was not asked in between whether everything was to his liking. It wasn't until I called her over for something to drink that she asked if I liked it. While we were the only guests present.

Food arrived more than 45 minutes later than planned. Fortunately we had ordered an extra bowl of gyros, but even that was not enough. Little meat, few fries. Also different gyros than we are used to, it looked more like kebab. The tzatziki was very tasty, by the way.

In our search for authentic Greek cuisine we hoped to find this in Athens. We do not/never look for this at the now frequent trendy luxury Greek restaurants. So we really had high hopes for Athens. It is too clear that the emphasis is on takeaway and online ordering, but that does not necessarily spoil the fun. The counter looks a lot like a Shawarma shop, which negatively affects the nice atmosphere in the restaurant. It seems that the gentleman is alone with 1 delivery person, which means that the phone is ringing off the hook with customers who are wondering after 1.5 hours of waiting whether the food will still arrive. The same friendly gentleman tries to keep the restaurant clean. What's amazing is that you can't get the food hot to the table by walking two steps. Serving chicken gyros instead of pork unannounced is not appropriate. The chicken gyros itself was okay, but not what I would expect. The starters and main courses and the associated prices are too high compared to what you get. The plate layout and portions are too small compared to the price. For a Greek, normal is synonymous with not finishing the food. With the exception of cold fries, we ate everything clean. Starter 5 tiny shrimps with head and skin at € 11.50 is too expensive and not enough. As a side dish I ordered a bowl of gyros, which is a maximum of 250 grams, so not enough for € 10, and therefore made of chicken. Main course lamb chops where you only get 3 pieces (max 225 grams with the bones still removed) for € 17.50 is not correct. In short, choices will have to be made, placing the emphasis on delivery and takeaway and not running a restaurant because the restaurant is now performing far below par. The price quality and quantity is not what you would expect from a Greek. Still 3 stars because the people are clearly trying their best and the food was okay. I hope the owner can do something with the above and future guests. Καλή τύχη

It has happened several times that you order food, you are shown an expected delivery time of 40 minutes in this case, and you have to call 2 hours later only to be told that nothing has been done with the order yet and you will not receive your food until (hopefully) 3 hours after ordering. "We had to communicate the delivery times, but that did not happen today." Waiting hungrily for your food to arrive much later, while you should have left home for an appointment somewhere else a long time ago.

Best food in Alblasserdam. The same taste and quality for years! While the taste and quality constantly change at other restaurants, the quality at Athene has always been the same since I started dining here (2003). Top!

Had food delivered from Athens tonight. The dish was delivered 10 minutes late even though it was not the ASAP option, but simply an agreed time. The food was disappointing. I had different types of meat. The lamb chop was inedible. It was more like mutton with a strong crazy aftertaste. I don't think that's possible for that amount of money. The chicken was fine. The fries were tasty and so was the small salad, but basically all the meat that wasn't chicken was tough and not tasty. Too bad, but I tried it out. However, I wouldn't order from here again so I don't recommend it.

Last week I ordered a gyros dish with extra meat, unfortunately I received even less meat than a normal dish. When you go to a colleague the following week and ask if they want to solve it this time, it doesn't happen, and he becomes irritated and aggressive and feels like a big boy, it's a shame that customers are treated this way, I wonder if the owner is proud of this, but fortunately enough food elsewhere.

A small but nice Greek restaurant on the edge of the center of Alblasserdam. The service is top notch, friendly and helpful. The food leaves you wanting more. Definitely recommended to go out for dinner.
