I can’t believe it, I’m in Maastricht, walk into a random bakery with that typical skeptical “Italian attitude,” grab a little salami pizza thinking there’s no way it could even compare to what we get back home… and then I take a bite. My eyes nearly roll back, not only was it delicious, but maybe even better than what I get from my local bakery in Italy. How is that even possible? The dough was "melt in your mouth" soft, the tomato perfectly cooked and sweet, and the salami slightly spicy with that little drizzle of oil making it ridiculously tasty. Honestly, I’m speechless, they might just make pizza better than us 😭. And the Stroopwafels… absolutely delicious, couldn’t get enough of them. Bravi!

A very good place to grab a quick bite to eat at an affordable price in Maastricht.

I've been a regular customer at Bakkerij Bart for years, but my recent experience was truly shocking. The food they delivered smelled and tasted strongly of men's perfume—which is absolutely unacceptable and clearly indicates contamination or product defects. This is not only unpalatable but also concerning from a food safety perspective. After filing a complaint, I unfortunately received a negative response from Thuisbezorgd without any concrete explanation or compensation. I find this very disappointing, especially considering the seriousness of the situation and the fact that I am a loyal customer. According to the Consumer Act (Article 6:185 of the Dutch Civil Code), a product is expected to be sound and safe—which was clearly not the case here. Instead of understanding or compensation, my complaint was simply dismissed. I hope Bakkerij Bart takes this message seriously and will pay more attention to food safety and customer focus. Until then, I will unfortunately not be placing any more orders here.

I had a warm chicken sandwich, it was a little but spicy, but the "right" spice for your food. The place is in the center and it is very busy during the day (I went Sunday noon), and there are some tables in the front. Busy but it is a nice option to have a quick lunch

The employee is wearing gloves. She's wearing them while taking money, emptying the trash, and even taking your sandwich from the counter. Unsanitary!

I visit Bakker Bart at least 2 times a week to grab a brioche, a pain au chocolat, or something small and quick. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. They open early in the morning, starting at 8:30. The shop has both indoor and outdoor seating, making it a perfect spot for a break. They offer a wide variety of bread, filled sandwiches, brioche, donuts, muffins as well as drinks and fresh orange juice. If you're looking for a place to have a quick snack or lunch at a reasonable price, I highly recommend it.

Popped in as we were passing stopped for a coffee and pastries. The cappuccino we had was excellent nice and hot freshly made in front of us. The pastries we had were awesome, it was quite busy at the time but the turnaround of customers was fairly quick. Staff were friendly and when next in Maastricht we will pop back in.

Sandwiches were ok. But the coffee was horrible. More than half was water. They make 4 coffees from one. But this was not the worst. The people there hate their jobs. There were people eating outside and drinking. But they came to us and told us don’t eat outside only drink. What kind of service is this? You don’t deserve 1 star.

Ordered two Barts sandwiches for 6.25 (brie and healthy sandwich) and had to pay 13.75. A bit weird. Seems like they are secretly adding to the price to make some extra profit at the expense of unwary customers. Sandwiches weren't very special either. Don't come back here again.

Putting together my own sandwich was real👌, the girl did exactly the way I wanted and the price was also great for what everything costs these days. I felt a bit sorry for the gentleman who ordered for me, he had 4 separate rolls, but also ordered a sausage roll, a pannini and a sandwich, all warm to take away, the gentleman first received his warm sausage roll, 3 minutes later his pannini and 3 minutes later his sandwich again, the gentleman said nothing about it, but this cannot be the intention, a warm order must also be ready together, perhaps baker Bart can pay better attention to this. the future, otherwise excellent staff and excellent sandwiches

September 16 at 12.30 pm I ordered a salmon sandwich and a coke from baker Bart Brugstraat Maastricht, and was helped by a nice foreign man, who was NOT wearing gloves. I was shocked at the price of €10.60, but unfortunately I forgot to ask for the receipt. Later at home I look at baker Bart's website and see that the sandwich costs €6.75 and the coke costs €2.95 and then I arrive at €9.70 and NOT €10.60. A tip: always ask for the cash register receipt, because something is not right here????? I contacted customer service by email on October 10 and they said that the price of sandwiches in Maastricht is higher due to the higher rents that the shops pay in the larger cities, but I do not believe this. Why are the prices always the same at other large national dining establishments? They don't say anything about the fact that the seller is not wearing gloves, I don't believe that story and will never go to baker Bart again.

Bought two ham and cheese croissants. They were stale and tasted of overnight refrigeration. I went back immediately and the staff kept on insisting that the croissants were indeed fresh and that a little bit of microwaving would restore them to their former glory. No apology, let alone acknowledging selling old stuff at full price. Eventually got my money back but won’t return.

I have never eaten such a meager ham sandwich. Some wilted pieces of ham, so thin that you can see through them, were folded on top. If you can fold a baguette in half without even one crumb falling off, something strange is going on. And I don't think the sandwich man has ever heard of gloves. Baker Bart used to be a favorite, but opens very late (9am) for a bakery. Very busy around lunchtime with an unclear queuing system so you can wait 10-15 minutes to order a croissant. There are better alternatives in town.

Ordered breakfast twice, but it was very different from others, for example in Beek at Bart. Croissant was cut open, dollop of butter and jam in ?? I had difficulty getting a healthy sandwich into a lettuce leaf, and it was placed outside on the terrace, but according to the lady, it was strange to sit there, breakfast was normally taken away? Then I ordered an extra pancake, which was stale, I think it had been reheated the day before, but the orange juice was really good.

We were there 10 minutes before closing time. We were hungry and were able to order something quickly. Too bad we were half looked away and it was no longer possible to quickly put a sandwich in the oven. Delicious food. Being a vegetarian could only taste the vegetarian pizza but it was pretty good. Would've loved it if the place could've been a bit bigger since it gets crowded a lot due to lack of space.

This store has a serious hygiene problem. Food/health inspection at the shop is necessary. The girl, who made our sandwiches touched our food with bare hands. I was actually shocked, because she has just handled our cash and didn't sanitize her hands after that. This is not making things any better, but she had also long acrylic nails, where dirt and germs can hide. While I was waiting, another customer also paid with cash. She dropped a 10€ bill into the green pesto, and didn't even throw it out. I know, because I was there for a while. Also, they don't accept Visa. I wouldn't recommend this place.
