Bakkerij Amadeus in Wijk 09 Leidsche Rijn

We discovered this little bakery during our last vacation in the Netherlands. It's located a couple of kilometers from De Meern and bakes delicious products, from bread to brioches, from focaccia to cinnamon rolls. We stopped several times for breakfast, and the ladies at the counter always greeted us with kindness and courtesy. Highly recommended.

I've been coming here since the beginning and think it's a great addition to our neighborhood. It's a short drive, and these days I ALWAYS order in advance, so the line is definitely worth the wait.

Fresh and tasty breads and croissants

Brilliant, a real "French" bakery within walking/cycling distance. Really delicious bread/rolls...carefully created/baked by nice people with a passion and a nice (background) story...it is already regularly pleasantly busy so come on time....

This was my first visit, and I must say—I'm quite particular when it comes to bread and croissants. Having lived in Paris, I’ve developed a real appreciation for authentic French baguettes and sourdough. I can confidently say that this bakery offers one of the best croissants in Utrecht, if not all of the Netherlands. It truly reminded me of the fresh bread I used to enjoy in France. I had a morning coffee there with a croissant, and also took home a loaf of their Frans Landbread—it was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this place to everyone, and I’m certain I’ll become a regular customer. 🍞 🥪 🥖 🥐 ☕️ 😋

I love the bread from Amadeus. Completely different from the supermarket ones. Great taste and consistency. They also serve coffee. So perfect place for a quick breakfast if the weather allows

Coffee was good and the cinnamon roll was disappointing, and there were few seats and only 3 tables.

Delicious bread and pastries. In the morning you have to queue, but it is definitely worth it. When the weather is nice, they put a few tables outside. Great for chilling with a cup of coffee.

They have the most delicious bread here! A truly wonderfully crispy crust combined with the softest, airiest interior. The pain chocolat is also highly recommended.

All 5 star reviews could be slightly nuanced. Really good bread, but always a long line and today literally all the bread sold out 20 minutes after opening time, so I stood in line for nothing. It was even announced online that they would be making extra bread for today.

Cozy little bakery, delicious breads! Tip: cheesecake and coffee is fantastic. Quite busy, so best to go around opening time.

Incredible find the suburbs! Clearly a very popular spot for locals to get an incredible assortment of breads! #Yum Get there early, it's super popular! PS... That was breakfast when we got home! Poached eggs, smoked ham and fresh baby leaves.... all on delish bread!

I used to live on Rijksstraatweg, in the now no longer existing postal code 3545 NE. This was in 2005-2006, almost 20 years ago. The building with a small park that stood there, a former retirement flat called Park Rheyngaerde (not to be confused with De Rheyngaerde in Oog in Al), is long gone: The end of the A2 tunnel has been laid over it (this is now given a high Puck of the Petteflat quality, where I believe they also wanted to pave a park, although I don't think it actually happened there in the end. Unfortunately, there was no back and forth wolf who stood up for the cause. Anyway: No one could have ever imagined that this environment would one day become hip. It was a really nice place to live, but kind of in the middle of nowhere in terms of amenities. Fast forward, and now there is a vegan restaurant AND a traditional bakery. So you see, a little time can change a lot.

Bakery Amadeus, what delicious products, the bread is delicious, just like the ciabatta, Focaccia, croissants. When I put the bread in the kitchen at home, the whole house smells wonderful. One of the few traditional bakeries that know their trade. The store also exudes the atmosphere of a French Boulangerie. Five stars!!

Literally everything here is delicious. My favorite is the classic: the country bread.

What a wonderful village bakery in a beautiful location in the metal cathedral. Very nice atmosphere, and you can taste the attention paid to the bread. What delicious flavors, as well as the croissants, cheesecake and coffee rolls. We like to cycle here for fifteen minutes. Huge asset. Thank you!

What a team there! Genius! Bread itself is magnificent, slightly different every day due to the different weather conditions/bakers who make it. By feeling and love! p.s. the people at the front make the best coffees!

I think nature makes its own yeast, where can they bake bread, croissant, etc., healthier and get flour from the mill, it is not chemical yeast, a very good idea from Amadeus baker with other ideas (a terrace cafeteria), thank you 👍🙋🏻‍♀️

France vibes in the Netherlands!

Very good bread made with a lot of time and attention, nice people.

For us, the walk to Amadeus reminds us of our holidays in France. We love coming for a coffee and a cinnamon roll (the best!), because it feels like a mini getaway ☺️

It's a great bakery where you can also grab a coffee. Unfortunately it's not accesible for people with strollers or on wheelchairs due to a few meters of stones in front of the building. There is no extra path. In general people with walking disabilities will have difficulties reaching Amadeus. Missed apportunity! It would be nice for me to reach it during walks with my newborn baby :)

This is simply the best bakery in Utrecht and around. Everything is more than delicious, made with love and attention and just very pure, how bread should be. Even (way) better foccacia than an Italian place in the city center. Last but not least, you don't pay a fortune like at these overrated, hip bakeries in the center. Everything is affordable for high quality products.

Kleine bakkerij, met ongelooflijk lekker brood, croissants en diverse broodjes plus een heerlijke pizza bodem. De baguette is de beste die ik ken. Alleen wo t/m za open helaas, en meestal rond 13-14 uur grotendeels uitverkocht.

Zalige baguettes en ècht Frans landbrood zijn de basics die er altijd zijn. Daarnaast zijn er dagen met hun eigen lekkere verrassingen als roombroodjes of vijgenbrood. Risico's : 1: je wordt echt hebberig als je aan de beurt bent om te bestellen. 2: dat vijgenbrood is tegen de tijd dat je thuis bent al bijna op, zoóó lekker!

BEST CHEESECAKE I’VE EVER HAD. Can’t believe my luck at stumbling upon this place while wandering around on my bike. We had cheesecake samples only and a few cookies which were also incredible. So impressed. Thank you!

Leuke bakker, bakkers zijn heel belangrijk voor de sfeer in een gebied, voor zover ik weet is er geen eens een bakker in de centrum van Leidsche rijn wat waarschijnlijk door al die gore bakkers van de supermarkt komt.

Ja Ja De Broden die gaan Praten! Zoo mooi om te zien hoe binnen een jaar de hele buurt geniet van Amadeus!! Het hele team is met passie aan het werk. En verder.

De cappuccino die ik besteld had was ongelofelijk goed, zelden zo een lekkere cappuccino gedronken. Helaas was dat het enige wat ik genuttigd had.

Wat een genot, heerlijk en eerlijk en warm en vers....

Absolute aanwinst voor de buurt! Een bakker zoals hij hoort te zijn; kleinschalig, vers en ambachtelijk! We komen hier graag wekelijks langs voor ons brood en andere lekkernijen :)

Small Bakery which is operated by an opera singer hence the name Amadeus. Very good quality bread. Like the quality of De Veldkeuken in Amelisweerd. Great croissants and baguette. Has an espresso machine as well, which I haven't tried yet. Support your locals👍
