This fine baker has a cooling unit/compressor on the roof for the bakery's cold room, but it's on more often than off. This results in the bedrooms on the first floor of the houses surrounding the bakery hearing that old compressor running all night long. Apparently, normal nighttime silence is too much to ask of our baker, who also doesn't have a closed enclosure around the cooling unit for the freezer room (which has been mandatory since 2012 according to the guidelines!!) This also makes it noisier than necessary. Sleeping with the bedroom window open for fresh, cool air in the summer isn't an option for my son. I've spoken to the baker about this several times, and he says he's doing something about it, but he doesn't. It's a real shame it has to be this way. I think the baker is waiting for someone "else" to do "something" about it. But whether this is good for the products in the cold room...

Excellent, partly traditional baker who makes excellent quality breads for us Westenholtern residents, as well as stuffing cakes and other baked goods. They also help people with disabilities find a job.

Our neighborhood bakery. So good that we have a bakery again in Westholte. It's been there for a while now and hopefully won't leave. The bread is delicious and ask about the small tarts with forest fruits. Recommended. The treat lives up to its name. Too bad they are closed on Mondays and don't sell fresh bread.
