Bakkerij Otten, de Bangert in Wijk 35 Bangert en Oosterpolder

Last Tuesday, I bought a cheese roll and a ham and cheese roll at this bakery. The cheese roll was simply old and moldy and came straight from the fridge, because it felt completely cold and there were green spots on the roll. I noticed this after I had already taken a bite! Fortunately, the employee did give me my money back. She told me that they are allowed to keep the rolls for a maximum of 2 days, which I find quite peculiar, because croissants and cheese rolls that were baked 2 days ago can definitely be called old! Even at the supermarket, they don't even sell rolls that are a day old! How dare a bakery still charge 3 euros for this? I think 3 euros is a brazen price for one roll anyway, but that is another topic! If it had actually been good and tasty, I would have been willing to make an exception just this once. You should expect fresh products from a bakery, especially at these prices. This is the last time I will buy anything here, because I think this is really very bad. This is the first time I’ve come home from a bakery with stale rolls. People, do something about this, because this is really unacceptable. Throw it away if it’s been out for 1 or 2 days, because surely you don't put freshly baked rolls among rolls that are already a few days old? I don't think this is worth a bad review.

Very tasty what is there, but also so bad hahaha but great this bakery gets bread from there and some other things

The staff is friendly and helpful. We come every two months, and sometimes even monthly, to get bread. It's definitely worth the hour-long drive. Sometimes we order online because we don't have time to visit, but we still enjoy the quality and service.

Unfortunately, there is no real bakery anymore, the products are just as full of E-numbers and oil as the supermarket, only twice as expensive.

The assortment is good, with a wide variety of breads, croissants, cakes and other goodies. What really makes this bakery special is the attention to quality and detail. Their products are always fresh and tasty.
