We first discovered Solinger Bakery through The Fermentary, where we used to order their olive lemon bread — only later did we realise it came from Solinger themselves. It’s truly the best bread we’ve ever had. Perfectly crisp on the outside, soft and chewy inside, with a wonderfully unique flavour palette that stays fresh for days. We recently visited the bakery in person and tried their babka and French bread with cheese, along with a filter coffee. Everything was simply outstanding. The quality, balance of flavours, and freshness truly reflect the craftsmanship behind their baking. The moment you walk into the NDSM area, the smell alone draws you in — warm, comforting, and irresistible. Solinger perfectly combines traditional techniques with creativity, resulting in products that feel both rustic and refined. Next time, I’d love to try their krentenbollen, as I absolutely love those. We’ve become so spoiled that we never want anything other than homemade sourdough now. I’ve started baking myself, and after eight loaves I’m only beginning to appreciate how complex it is. My deepest respect for the bakers — managing temperature, proofing, over-proofing, coil folds, and stretch folds — it’s truly an art form. At €7, their bread is not only exceptional but also remarkably affordable considering the craft, time, and skill involved. Highly recommended to anyone who loves honest, beautifully made bread.

3 bucks for a coffee in a coffee maker and it's small... (maybe at 2€ I would have had 2)... And sandwiches not amazing. Hipster place. The sourdough bread is not bad though 🙏

It was absolutely delicious! We had chocolate snails and focaccia. Everything was baked on-site. We'll be back next time we visit the NDSM shipyard.

I think Solinger is one of the best bakeries in Amsterdam. Their pain gris, with or without lemon or olive, is fantastic, and I also love their sweet treats.

Extremely good cinnamon rolls and other sourdough baked goods. You can taste the craftsmanship and quality of the ingredients that go into the product. A wonderful and unique atmosphere within the shipyard.

Only the cinnamon roll was truly delicious; I'd paid 30 for it, so that was a bit disappointing. It was unusually busy, but the service was also a mess. Meanwhile, children were playing in the kitchen. Not exactly hygienic either. I noticed that a lot of the bread and rolls were burnt, and a lot of them were a bit bland. A little salt would go a long way. Considering the other reviews, I was unlucky, but still a shame...

Amazing! Absolutely delicious selection of pastries. To be honest: best I’ve had in Amsterdam Noord. Bakery also has a small play corner for kids. Kind and attentive staff. They have a few tables outside in the sun. Definitely recommended!

Best sour dough I have tried (pain gris)

Why is it apparently modern and hip not to have a cutting machine?! I have a professional serrated knife at home, but it takes sawing to get a decent sandwich. As the days progress it becomes more and more difficult to cut. No croissants. No baguette on Thursday. From now on further down the road at Kometenbrood, where I always leave very satisfied.

From the small hidden bakery, to the people working and the different breads available, everything was lovely ! The pain gris and little raisins brioche were very tasty and rich in flavours !

My favorite place to get delicious bread and assorted baked goods, and nice to sit at during the summer especially. The best sourdough and longest lasting bread I have ever had (stays moist and perfect for days). I go almost every weekend to pick up some bread, and I can’t get enough of it! You can tell they are masters of their craft! Highly recommend.

We were tipped off about this bakery so we finally paid it a visit today. Super nice spot in the NDSM warehouse. The only thing that really disappointed me was the customer service. When I read the reviews here, the employee may have had a bad day, but I was really a bit surprised. When we entered the bakery we were not acknowledged by the staff. Sometimes you are working on something and you want to finish something quickly. I can totally understand that, but just no one said hello or anything. Then an employee came to the cash register and cut himself a piece of focaccia and a piece of cheese and just didn't say anything. When another colleague, who was mopping, asked if she was taking over the shop. She said something along the lines of no, you go and mop first, they can wait. And still no one had said hi or anything. Then this employee stormed out with her food. After which we were finally helped by the mopping colleague, who was very nice by the way. I just hope it was a bad day, but if I pay more than €8 for a loaf of bread, which I really understand that you pay for craftsmanship, then you also expect a little service. Wouldn't have minded waiting for the mopping colleague if one employee had said: "My colleague will be with you shortly, I have to take a break and unfortunately something has fallen over." I expect a little more customer friendliness than at the budget supermarket around the corner. And that's a shame because the bread is very tasty, but it doesn't make me want to come back.

Really good bread! I did not try much of the other things so I cannot say much about it, but the bread is very very good.

Overpriced disappointment. After reading reviews and seeing photos the bread and pastries this place was selling seemed very nice, So I went and got some, sadly it was nothing special. It's located within a huge warehouse and the people are friendly but that's about the only positives I have. The sesame bun tasted a bit too sour for my liking, but that's German style bread for you. The cinnamon bun was the real disappointment, it lacked sweetness all over, you cannot offer a cinnamon bun and barely use any cinnamon to sweeten it, this is sadly a Trend I see more often in dutch Bakeries, they should really follow the Scandinavian or american recipe, they atleast know what they are doing.

Really good bread. From all the smaller bakeries in the north this one is my favourite. Only thing is I wish they kept the baguette thin and longer. Last 2 times when I bought them they were small and bigger

The best bread in Amsterdam in my French opinion, but I can understand it is not for everyone’s taste. Their Pain Gris just tastes like the one we had during my summers in a lost area of Lot. These times where the baker would come once a week in his van and you’d get a gigantic round loaf to last you until he’d be back and that you’d simply kept in a torchon. Congrats and merci to Bakkerij Solinger for mastering this and offering a bread that stays moist over days. Because of some reviews left here I want to stress that I find that their prices are very fair given the quality and work this requires. They are lower than lesser quality breads found across the Ij river. I also tried their chocolate cookie, it was great.

Took the ferry and was looking for a snack. Great lucky choice. Yummy and friendly!

We stopped for second breakfast and ate brioche bread with raisins, focaccia, and baguette bread. Excellent baker in a very beautiful and particular location.

Extremely disappointed honestly. Visited twice just to be sure and to give a chance by trying different things. Bread was fine, the krentenbollen were small, pretty sour and actually also pretty dry. But the babkas were the real disappointment, they were dry, tiny and there was barely any chocolate in them. To call them babkas is just pure fraud. On top of that they are just soooo overpriced. I just can't believe that people really pay that and think the quality is worth it. Will not visit again and definitely will not recommend it either. Outrageous. Too bad cuz the staff is really nice and the place is cute and stylish.

Very good bread and very lovely people, located in the warehouse but with a warm and cozy atmosphere.

Tried their sourdough a few times, best one in town in my opinion.

Finally also visited Solinger. My friend and I visit all the real (read: pure) sourdough bakers in the area and Solinger is no less! A pure sourdough and nice, friendly staff. There are several different breads and it is easy to find. Unfortunately, my bread was so badly burnt that I only tasted the black bottom... I had to cut it off every time, so... I assume that is not the case as standard(?)

Bizarrely delicious gray sourdough bread. Delicious eaten plain with butter and good coarse sea salt. Possibly the best bread I've ever had.

Absolutely delicious olive and lemon sour dough. Don’t forget to grab a little speculaas with a cup of coffee too. Also really lovely people serving us. Would highly recommend!

Ingeborg bakt fantastisch brood en sinds ik haar krentenbollen heb geproefd, lust ik geen andere meer. En de prijs is ook goed. Ik rij er graag voor naar Zaandam.
