Absolutely fantastic place. Best ramen in NL and not only! Gyoza are fresh and crunchy, 10/10. Atmosphere feels like evening Tokyo, totally fascinating with all the decor. Service is fast and good, food was served in less than 10 minutes. Definitely a place to go🍜🥟

A very nice Japanese restaurant with a great selection of ramen, sushi, and cocktails. Everything is freshly prepared, and the friendly service makes the visit a pleasure.

We had to wait a long time for our food; the waitress only spoke English and kept shuffling the tables. As a result, we were repeatedly served drinks at the table that we hadn't ordered. The kitchen mixed up the receipts, so our order didn't arrive. The sushi was delicious, but we couldn't find any eel in the dragon roll. And that's precisely what makes it so good. Then came the bowls of ramen...sorry, but a simple bag from the supermarket has more flavor. The noodles weren't al dente, but really undercooked. The broth had little flavor. There were hardly any vegetables, and the Japanese schnitzel and fried chicken had no flavor whatsoever, in terms of spices or anything like that. And then 18 euros per bowl is ridiculously expensive. We did get a drink on the house, thanks for that! The interior is nicely decorated. Unfortunately, we won't be back.

If you've never had good ramen you will like this. If you actually like ramen, its a disappointment. The tonkotsu was more like a creamy mushroom soup, most likely thickened with starch to imitate that thick, gelatinous mouthfeel a good tonkotsu should give you. No pork to be detected here. The chasiu was alright. Good texture but nothing special either. Noodles were so-so, needed more bite. Definitely NOT worth the 18 euros per bowl.

One of our favorite spots in town! 🍜🍣 The ramen is always rich and flavorful, and the sushi is fresh and delicious. We’ve been coming here regularly and it never disappoints!

If you're looking for a good ramen place in Breda, I wholeheartedly recommend this place. My personal recommendation is Tonkatsu Ramen if you like filling ramen soups, although they also have milder options. The menu includes sushi, cocktails, desserts, ramen, and many drinks, including sake. The staff is very friendly, and if you're looking to fill up in a cool atmosphere, this place is great. I'll be back!

The food on the terrace was delicious. The staff were friendly, but it was a bit of a guessing game as to which language to speak to them in, Dutch or English, as you only knew when they responded. The drinks they delivered weren't exactly what we ordered. But that can happen when it's busy (which it was). We ate with 4 people. BUT!! Be careful when paying!! After eating, I asked for the bill. In the hustle and bustle, I quickly scanned the bill for the number of menus and drinks. The total was around 90 euros. I wanted to pay by card and said, "Make it 100 euros." An amount was entered on the payment terminal. The terminal was then placed on the table a bit further away from me. Confident that everything was in order, I placed my debit card on the terminal. I thought, "Kees is done." It turned out that 120 euros had been debited from my account, 20 more than requested. After this experience, I finally calculated the bill using the online menu. It should have been around €80. I was charged about €10 too much. So, financially, it was a very unpleasant experience. Charging the customer twice?! It's a shame. It gives the food a different (after)taste.

Everything was great ! The food - the service - the restaurant itself ! We had ramen and edamame and it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Prices are also good.

Good food, but unfortunately, two of the four left afterward. Those two had exactly the same dishes? Service: it took a long time for our dishes to arrive. The staff only spoke English; one of them didn't even understand Dutch.

Unbelievably bad ramen. Seriously. I don't know how anyone manages to make miso soup taste bad, but hats off to this place. The noodles: like the cheapest, pale, overcooked spaghetti. The bamboo: hard. The other ingredients: tough, tasteless. Everything: rubber (no joke). And now the broth: I don't know how they make it, but it looks like a factory-made pasta pot from Ali Express, filled with boiling water. We had three different dishes. We threw them away while hungry. I never want to give a one-star rating without a good explanation, but I'd rather stop. We now understand why the place was empty, while the rest of the market is always packed. Don't eat or order here, because you'll ruin it. Go to The Hague or Rotterdam for the real deal. Best regards: a normally very sweet and positive person. Judging by the text, the reviews from a year ago are almost the same. Take what you will from it ;)

The Tonkatsu ramen was reasonable. The meat had a nice taste. However, it is strange that you pay €2 for a teaspoon of sambal to make it 'spicy' after which the ramen is still absolutely not spicy. I then asked if it could be more spicy after which I got a tablespoon of sambal on a small plate. Literally a tablespoon. And guess what. I had to pay another €2 for that tablespoon. In total €4 euros to still eat not really spicy ramen. Too bad. Next time I will try another Japanese who does not charge €4 for a little sambal.

The food is really like in the Netherlands - nothing fancy, no special taste and flair. The restaurant inside is quite nice with pleasant service, but the food is mediocre.

Everything was very good to be honest, but the drink is too expensive and the Coca Cola is 200ml for €3.50.

The ramen was quite tasty, thick and with additions, although it didn't beat the one from Uki Uki in Warsaw. In the end, there's a lack of clarity for me. Although I left satisfied and I recommend this place. Add Vietnamese spring rolls and dinner is ready. It's probably a crowded place in the evenings and on weekends, so we came across a quiet lunch time. You will leave about €70. April 2025

Had dinner with friends at Bao Ramen Kitchen in Breda. Inside it is atmospheric because of the small light sources here and there. Menu is very extensive. You can choose ramen, small snacks and various types of sushi. We enjoyed windows and a few small sides. The staff was friendly and came by at the right times. Everything was well prepared and beautifully presented. The drinks were also great!

I didn't enjoy the ramen that much, as I'm used to better options in Rotterdam, Schiedam, and Den Haag

Simply the best ramen you can eat in Breda. Sushi is also really great and very fresh. Super friendly staff and very good service. The prices are also very reasonable it's good to see a place that's not out to k!lll your wallet. The only tip I would give them is to turn up the lights a little bit more since it's quite dark inside especially now in winter time. Will definitely be coming back for the ramen 🍜🍜

Went today for the 2 time in 1 week 😄 pleasantly surprised by the friendly service, delicious food and a nice positive conversation with the owner! Sushi is great there, very beautifully presented, chicken yakitori was super tender, scallops were delicious, ribeye steak was delicious and nice and tender and the mochi is addictive! Duck and karage chicken also delicious!!! Definitely worth a recommendation! Will be our favorite spot in Breda 😋⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Have eaten here before, but today it was very bad. Rice was dry. Service wasn't great either, so I ended up having to go to the kitchen to order drinks, because the staff was nowhere to be seen. Very disappointing

I am so happy to have found this place! They were so nice with us, we asked politely if we can be seated while having the baby with us and they were so nice. The interior is so cosy and nice, lovely seating, beautiful lighting and nice design. The staff was great! Such a nice atmosphere! The food was delicious, was made quite fast and we really enjoyed it. Would definitely come again and recommend it to our friends.

We ordered some bites with my girlfriend, which arrived very quickly. Unfortunately, the rest went less smoothly. We then ordered a main course and waited about 45 minutes for it (fortunately it felt less long because we were deep in conversation). Then, according to one girl, 'something went wrong with the last orders'. If I read this from a recent review, is this normal here? It certainly wasn't her fault, but the boy who helped us was also speechless. Then he himself was very uncomfortable for someone who works in the catering industry. The mistake is one thing, but it is also handled poorly. I understand that young international students work here for their money and that mistakes are made, but either solve this yourself or get a team leader who will explain this better. But since this happens more often, I wonder if there is even a manager present? Too bad we left with not enough food and still lost time and money. Because the starters were tasty even though they were pricey for what you get.

Had dinner at Boa yesterday with my girlfriend. Bad service! We ordered 2 ramen noodles, after 20 minutes we still had not received anything while everyone else already had their food (they even came after us) and it was not even busy, so we asked where the food is and how long it will take. The employee forgot to place the order... so we waited for nothing... so we ordered a drink to wait in the meantime. After another 15 minutes we finally got the food, so another 35/40 minutes later. At least charge for the drink to compensate for the wait and the mistake, but no, that was not allowed/could not be done. Bad service! Takes a long time! To err is human, but kindness is also human. First and last time, a shame because the food was excellent. Also quite pricey at €18 for RAMEN noodles

I ordered the Tonkotsu ramen. (€18) The order arrived fairly quickly. The ramen was absolutely not tasty. The noodles were overcooked, the meat too sweet and the broth tasted like mushroom soup from a box. In short, not recommended!

Didn't make a reservation but were able to sit outside. Highly recommended for ramen lovers! Very tasty and the gyoza was even crispy. Really nice meal

What a magnificent discovery. In a setting transporting us to Asia, we enjoyed the different dishes ordered. Everything was super delicious.

If you'd like to broaden your experience in Japanese food, you can find enough to try out here! The renowned Takoyaki or Tonkatsu are very good, add in a quenching Kirin Ichiban or Asahi beer and top it off with either of the sakes. All in all, a beautiful restaurant with fitting music to create a perfect atmosphere.

Delicious food, the food was fresh! And the flavors were well combined, not overly sweet. We ordered sushi, fried chicken octopus, shrimp and ramen. The location in the middle of the square is very nice and the interior is modern and neat. Owner Wing is very nice to deal with so highly recommended.

I always went here to eat ramen soup with my girlfriend, we always liked the shoyu ramen here, but since the menu has changed they only have Miso ramen... which unfortunately we don't like very much. This is very unfortunate ps. the old menu style also gave much more Japanese vibes than the new one :(

used to be my favorite ramen restaurant, sadly they took away the shoyu (soy sauce broth) option and replaced it with only Miso.. not a great idea tbh. will probably not come here again since i personally dont like Miso at all. other than that an amazing restaurant and amazing quality, great service too. please bring back the Shoyu option on the ramen im dissapointed

The weather is good, we’re sitting by the window chatting with the waitress. We ordered our way through the Ramen menu, and every single dish was delicious and finished, despite the generous portion sizes. Now we’re enjoying the atmosphere, the music and waiting for dessert.

My partner and I came to dinner at BAO for the first time and we loved the food. The quantity and quality are excellent. Without a doubt I would also like to highlight the attention of Nancy, a very smiling, friendly and cheerful girl who has treated us magnificently. Yesterday (King's Day) I ate here with my husband and good friend. A very sweet lady at the counter who greeted us and showed us to a table. We arrived a little earlier than the reserved time, but this was no problem. 2 starters to share and all 3 at the windows, everything was nice and beautifully prepared, tasted delicious and was nice and warm. The interior of the place was very nice and cozy with a nice bar and open kitchen, which is very nice to see. The store is not very wide, but it is deep, so many people can sit there, something you wouldn't expect from the outside. We definitely plan to come here more often to enjoy the goodies! Price quality is excellent!

I am 30 km from Breda. I went to Breda just for ramen, I like to try many ramen restaurants, I really like ramen. Went here for the rave reviews of the Tonkotsu ramen. Honestly, I've never eaten more disgusting ramen, and again I'm a ramen fan, I have saved ramen restaurants in Rotterdam, Amsterdam and The Hague that I go to every weekend. So from the soup to the egg everything was disgusting, the soup at first had an acceptable taste, after it cooled down a bit it was sour, like it was spoiled. The noodles were like the cheap ones from the store, thick, half the bowl was full of noodles, I think maybe swollen from the soup, and they also had that taste of spoiled soup. The meat was cooked, it wasn't grilled at all, it had that fatty taste, maybe someone else likes it, the egg was made as simple as you make it at home. After all that I left half a bowl in there because I just thought maybe I was getting sick from that sour soup, because it tasted like it was spoiled. What can I say, I had a really bad experience, I don't think I'll ever go there again, maybe I'll try the other dishes, but even with these I'm aware that they might be just as disgusting.

Nice inside and decor. Had the Tonkotsu ramen - the broth was creamy but lacked that characteristic pork flavor and the meat was cut thin. Half an egg too. Overall decent ramen but for 16,5 it falls short of an authentic bowl of ramen. Service was good though.

This is one of my favourite restaurants in Breda. I always feel like I am entering Japan. The deco is very eye catching + the atmosphere is warm, inviting + stylish. Most importantly the food is fresh + filled with flavours. I require halaal food so they also cater for me. The staff are kind + accommodating. The service is fast + wait time is short. The layout of the restaurant is well thought out + feng shui works. HIGHLY RECOMMEND TRYING THIS RESTAURANT 🤍🤍🤍

Ordered a large slection from their menu and got to say its decent, not the best nor the most authentic but far better than most places. The flavours are slightly of from what I come to expect from authentic Japanese cuisine, however that can be expected to tailor to the wider Dutch clientele. The tonkatsu ramen broth is good however the eggs leave alot to be desired. Pork was noticably seasoned for the Dutch clientele. Miso soup was nice, nothing to complain on at all. Octupus was sadly rather low quality, Gyoza was flavourless as was the tempura sweetpotato very likely as stated before to better suit the average clientele. Curry was overseasoned and the torikatsu slightly overcooked however serviceable.

My wife and I love noodles. This afternoon we had a delicious meal, but unfortunately we both became ill. Maybe an unfortunate coincidence.

Sat down for lunch at this restaurant and ordered the crispy chicken bao, ebi bao, and yakitori. Everything was absolutely delicious, the yakitori especially was served in a thick perfectly seasoned glaze. Would highly recommend! De gewokte noodles waren te zoutig. Moest daardoor veel water drinken. Eten niet al te best maar personeel was wel vriendelijk.

Heel lekker eten en goed personeel! Het ziet er ook erg leuk uit binnen.

Ramen bevat voornamelijk bouillon en noodles, maar weinig groenten. Daardoor krijg je niet die ramen-ervaring en is het weinig voedzaam en beperkt lekker. Ook moesten we ruim een half uur wachten op dit simpele potje. Ook niet de ramen-ervaring die je verwacht.

Although food was really good, the bad score is there only for the service. Our kids got meals quite quickly, but we waited for more than 40 minutes. The main problem wasn’t waiting time, but organizing for serving food, since we planned to have a family dinner, which completely turned upside down since we ate in shifts.

Keek erna uit om hier te eten, niet teleur gesteld! Naast de fantastische miso en tonkatsu ramen is er zeer vriendelijk personeel en een leuke omgeving. Mooie toevoeging aan de culinaire wereld van Breda!

Eten was top karaage en ramen met krokante schnitsel kip in miso waren super lekker. Bediening vriendelijk en verzorgt. Sfeer binnennis gezellig. Geen lege kratten ofzo te bespeuren dus ze nemen commentaren zeker ter harten. Zeker een aanrader voor een lunch
