Delicious food and a pleasant atmosphere.

The food was fantastic, the sushi was delicious, and the Japanese plum wine was a nice surprise. The staff was also very friendly! There was one thing that struck us, though: we sat there for two hours and heard absolutely nothing but Michael Jackson's music. Once you hear it, it's really noticeable. We laughed about it, but it was also a bit strange.

A lovely, pleasant restaurant, not too big and with a good concept. The food was great, and there was plenty of choice.

Service and atmosphere were great. The food was served fast. The grilled dishes were all well cooked. However, the overall quality and taste of the food was lacking. The sushi rice was super dry and tasted very bland. The taste of each dish needs much improvement. The teriyaki sauce tasted watered-down with too strong of an acidic note - not balanced. The wasabi was starchy and diluted. Not what I expect from a restaurant that charges this price. Overall not a worth it experience for me.

The food is delicious! Diverse choice of sushi, but also other dishes. Five rounds and 2 dishes per round. Portions are large, so five rounds is really enough. For 3.50 you can also choose from a number of desserts. Price quality ratio is fine! Staff is also very friendly.

Been here several times and the food is still delicious! Sashimi is included in the All-You-Can-Eat concept. Enough choices and always good. Staff is also friendly. During the week (we went on Monday) it is nice and quiet, then there is also no time limit.

The service was fast and the portions were perfect. I really enjoyed it. It’s all you can eat for 35 Euros. I’m coming from Vancouver Canada and i can say it’s pretty similar to the sushi we have at home!

The sushi was dried out and the combinations available were nothing special. Moreover, all sushis were provided with sauces that did not really improve the taste. The hot dishes with chicken and duck, on the other hand, were good. Overall we expected more from the quality. In the end we paid €80, but we couldn't really enjoy the meal. Unfortunately not recommended!

2 stars because the food was good. You do need a lot of patience, as on a Saturday evening the place is full but the service and chefs cannot cope. This means that you can easily wait an hour for your first dishes. They also collect the note with the dishes very slowly, which means you have to wait even longer. We had to ask for dishes from the first rounds 3 times if we still got them... Maybe if you don't go on a busy evening it will be faster, but I wouldn't eat here again anytime soon. Also because no apologies are made from the staff. The dishes are also very minimally indicated as to what they entail. I ordered shrimp skewers, that's what it said, but they were on zucchini and I'm allergic to that. I don't think it's necessary that you have to ask what exactly is in each course. Then you might as well add it in.

Great restaurant! I went for dinner during the week for a slightly lower price. The meat and fish dishes are really high quality and you notice that a lot of love has gone into them. There is a lot of variety and the service is fast and good! I've been there several times now and I highly recommend it for unlimited Asian food!

Went for dinner with my family on Christmas Day. Restaurants were not full, few staff and the owners were not there either. I saw that the restaurant is also for sale. Shame! We come to you several times a year, but this Christmas it was really less. Where does it go wrong? It's not the food.

SUMO, BUT DIFFERENT, I have been ordering really top quality for a while now, they also have many of the things they had at Sumo and with the same perfect taste. But that cannot be otherwise. Unfortunately a transport problem today, sushi arrived crushed. It's not Ginkgo's fault, it's the delivery.

Ate here last week with 6 people. Everything was very tasty, had a lot of flavor and everything tasted fresh! Staff very friendly. I will definitely come back here again!

Ginkgo surpasses the rest of the sushi industry when it comes to taste sensation. They have larger portions. One of the few places that offers sashimi without extra payment. We just ate here for the first time and this will definitely be our new favorite place! Definitely recommended.

We actually wanted to have lunch, but unfortunately that is no longer possible. You can make reservations from 5:00 PM, so we opted for that. This was our first time here, but we have not regretted it for a second. Oriental Cuisine, we really liked it afterwards because not only the sushi but also the Beef Teriyaki, Thai style mussels, mixed mushrooms and the delicious fish soup were all worth trying. Friendly service, no ticking clock on the table, no, everything was well taken care of and relaxed. We had a wonderful evening and will definitely return

We (my boyfriend and I) had a very delicious meal here. It is an 'all you can eat' concept, but because you are not tied to 2/2.5 hours it feels much more relaxed. You also don't have to pay extra for certain dishes, only for dessert. The food was very tasty and tasted fresh, we definitely recommend the ebi rolls, redfish with pak choi, gyoza and trio sushi!! We would love to come again :)

One of the tastiest sushi restaurants in Breda

This could have been an amazing experience; unfortunately, it was not. My partner and I went to this restaurant on Saturday and arrived around 7 PM. We were expecting to enjoy the €37.50 buffet as advertised on the online menu. However, when we got there, the waiter seated us and informed us that the kitchen would be closing at 9 PM, so we wouldn't have enough time to fully enjoy the all-you-can-eat buffet. We didn't see an issue with this, as we felt two hours was a fair amount of time to eat, but we were accepting of what he was telling us. Also, for your information, the resturant was half empty. After sharing this information, the waiter suggested that we order a lot of separate dishes instead and assured us he would arrange them nicely on a plate. We agreed and filled out the order form he provided. He took the paper inside and then returned, saying, "I'm sorry guys, but this is a lot of food. I really think we need to reorganize this." At this point, we were in an awkward position and noticed more marks on the paper with a different pen. To be fair, we don't know if they were there initially. We reorganized our choices on a new paper, sticking to what we initially wanted. Guess what? The waiter looked at the new order and again said, "Guys, this is still a lot of food." We insisted we could eat it all, to which he responded, "I just don't want you to be ordering food and spending more money. I would, of course, pack the leftovers for you, but I don't want you to overspend if you won't eat it all." Once again, we assured him we would. At this point, we just wanted to enjoy good sushi, especially since it was my partner's birthday. We weren't worried about the cost; we just wanted to relax and eat. However, two or three waiters kept coming over, asking us to reconsider our order, creating quite a scene in the restaurant. After waiting 15 minutes for our food, one waiter started cleaning the table next to us (with no new guests) as if preparing it for our plates. We thought, "Wow, it really must be a lot of food." Surprisingly, three waiters brought our food to our table, and it all fit perfectly. We finished it in about 20 minutes and even ordered more. Plus, while we were trying to order additional food, the waiters looked embarrassed about the whole situation and even seemed to be ignoring us. We could have just eaten the buffet and left satisfied. We ended up paying €93 for everything. The food was great, but we will not be returning. The waiters created an unnecessarily awkward situation. When we dine out, we're not worried about the cost; we just want to eat what we like without feeling restricted. This has never happened to me before. I understand the waiters probably meant well, but I hope they don't do this to someone else in the future. We handled it with humor, but another person might feel shamed. I will leave the picture of all the food we initially ordered, and you tell me if it was too much or not 😅 Once again, good sushi, but unecessary show.

Excellent freshly prepared food, really really tasty. Presentation on plate was excellent. Although only two dishes per person per round, quantity and quality was very good. Value for money based above statement. Will be going there again!

We came here for the first time. Delicious food. You can stay here all evening, which is a great advantage! Certainly not the last time. We sat at a table by the window, very nice.

We ate out at this restaurant for the second time. It went well until we ordered the salmon flowers for the third time. The first time I thought the taste was okay, but the second time the fish was much fresher and there was clearly a difference in quality and the third time my sister took a bite and swallowed a small piece and had to run to the toilet to unfortunately have to throw up. At that moment, my sister and I were still hungry and person 3 was content. From that moment on our evening was ruined and we left the rest of the food. I immediately reported it to the staff and of course they denied it was the fish and said the fish would have been delivered this morning. I understand that they say that, but after my sister was back at the table, no one came to inquire and when we asked for the bill I raised this with the gentleman who had spoken to us. I didn't find him friendly (always made excuses and said he couldn't do anything, compared the restaurant's dishes to a brownie, namely that the side could taste better than the top). We at least expected something like: We are very sorry that your evening had to end this way. Sorry about that. Is there anything I could do for you so that you can leave our restaurant a little more satisfied? But because of the comments and attitude of the man who did not want to give his name, the situation became worse, but made the customer with red eyes and stomach ache pay 120 euros and say that the customer is king but she is the emperor! We won't come here anymore!

Really dramatic service, we were early in the evening. No reservations but not a single table was occupied yet. We wanted to eat something quickly and indicated that we would make room when the reservations came in. However, the staff with their hands in their pockets found this far too complicated and impossible. So we just had to go. No ownership, let alone entrepreneurship, among the people who work here. Really embarrassing, what a mockery.

At first glance it appears to be a cozy restaurant. However, there were still some downsides. It was not busy, but we still had to wait 15-20 minutes per round. The servers weren't even dressed, just in everyday clothes. Also, towards the end of the evening they were just sitting on a bench doing nothing and talking on their phones even though everything was going so slowly. So motivation was certainly lacking. The sushi was mediocre at best and apart from a few dishes on the menu there was actually nothing that met expectations. All in all not recommended. I don't understand at all why there are so many five star reviews for this tent.

What a fantastic restaurant. Fresh food, lovely staff and a great atmosphere. The portions are not small, so perfect for sharing. The quality is absolutely amazing. I was so impressed by the flavors and the looks of the dishes that I forgot to take more pictures. Keep up the great work guys!

A vert nice place to eat and drink and it's been a lot more crowded the last few visits... The staff is very friendly, helpful and relaxed so that makes the experience all the better.

Gingko (formerly known as Sumo Oriental) now even more choice. Gingko sushi restaurant in Breda is the best sushi restaurant in all of North Brabant. Varied menu of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes for a reasonable price. A cozy restaurant with very friendly service. Simply great!!! Simply the best.

Delicious unlimited food with a wide choice of dishes! Food was very good! They work with cards that you have to fill out each round and then collect them and give them back for the next round, this happens quickly enough and you don't have to wait long, but a tablet will be easier for the service. We will definitely come back again

Food was great and warm when it hit the table big plus compared to some. Alot of options. It is a long sit as you order 2 items per person 5 times. Took us about 3,5 hours.

Had a good experience. Sometimes they had forgotten food, but when we pointed this out to the waitress, she brought it right away. Ice cream was also very tasty. Waitress was very sweet and helpful even though she did not speak but did understand the Dutch language.

Quality is lacking in terms of service and the food is tasteless and run-down compared to the past... long waiting times between rounds... all dishes are just thrown together... a shame about the 100 euros.

I long for Sumo Oriental again, Ginkgo is not even remotely the quality it used to be at Sumo Oriental. Wrong dishes, little to no taste to the food, cold food and disinterested service plus a long wait. Didn't even order the last round, but paid immediately, people spend a lot of money for a night out, service and quality are hard to find. You won't see me here again.

Very lovely restaurant with great ambience, great food, and great service! We went there for dinner on Christmas and were welcomed very warmly by the staff. The sushi was prima; the sashimi very fresh. We also tried the fried chicken, sate kambing, and rendang. The chicken was nice and crispy. The rendang and sate kambing were cooked till very tender and had excellent flavour. Definitely worth a visit!

Had christmas dinner at this restaurant. This restaurant surpassed my expectation by a mile. The quality of the food served here was exquisite and the sushi was still amazingly fresh, even at a Christmas night. For an all you can eat restaurants, the food here is better than a lot of upscale restaurants. We ordered a lot of dishes, all of them are amazing, some are worthy to be highlighted further. The Karaage was crispy and moist, not overcooked. Lamb Satay was tender and has very little to no gaminess. My favourite was the Beef Rendang, which was amazingly tender and packed full of flavour. For this price point, it is quite difficult to find a restaurant that is worth its price tag. But Ginkgo is more than worth it any time of the day! Service was also exceptional and the servers/managers were very nice!

Christmas Eve, come here again! We have been here several times, a nice meal and a nice get-together with the family is a golden combination for the perfect evening. Delicious dishes and drinks throughout the evening. Staff very friendly, neat, helpful and hospitable. A good and extensive menu, meat, fish, vegetarian, dessert. We have already been here! This is truly limitless enjoyment. We really liked it! Is also interesting for city trippers.

Dit restaurant is echt een van de betere all you can eats EN je mag zo lang blijven zitten als je wilt i.p.v. dat je gebonden bent aan een tijdsblok. Een vriendin en ik hebben van 17u30 tot 22u gezeten. We konden ook gewoon telkens eten blijven bestellen. Dat was geen probleem. Ik had dezelfde dag gelijk om 12u gebeld voor een reservering. 18u was niet meer mogelijk, maar wel 17u30. Echter was het niet zo druk, maar ik had wel het idee dat het personeel continu bezig was. Ze houden er dus een goede planning op na. Tevens is het personeel vriendelijk en vragen ze geregeld of alles na wens is. Klein puntje: niet al het personeel spreekt Nederlands. Ik zou dit restaurant iedereen aanraden, van jong tot oud en voor elk gezelschap die net iets meer willen dan een ordinaire vreetschuur.

Niet voor herhaling vatbaar helaas. De ontvangst beloofde veel goeds maar helaas bleek al gauw het tegenovergestelde. De Sushi op de kaart was voor ons het enige wat ok was. We hebben wat andere gerechten geprobeerd maar helaas niet onze smaak.. De wachttijden tussen rondes zijn erg lang op vrijdagavond. (2 hapjes p.p.per ronde) en wij hadden de pech naast een hele grote groep te zitten die nogal wat lawaai maakte (kroeggehalte 10+) Wij hebben dit bij het personeel aangegeven maar het antwoord was dat zij hier geen vat op hebben. Ook een fatsoenlijk toilet gezoek is niet mogelijk. Het toilet zat verstopt en dit was niet prettig. Wat een bijzondere avond had moeten zijn doordat wij wat te voeren hadden is heel onprettig geworden. Erg jammer.

Heerlijk gegeten. Heel leuk personeel. Hangt een fijne sfeer. Zeker aan te raden. Zowel voor kleine als grote gezelschappen. Ook met kids is het hier goed toeven.

Bij sommige sushi restaurants is het alleen sushi waardoor je snel vol raakt, maar hier is gevarieerd waardoor je lekker verschillende dingen kan eten, het ziet er ook super gezellig uit van binnen, het eten duurt ook niet te lang max 10 minuutjes. Vijf sterren!! Echt een aanrader.

Had dinner here last Saturday. Fully booked, but they managed to get us a table within half an hour. Although the evening before I experienced a very slow service in another venue, here the service was on point. Polite, enthusiastic and fast. We didn't manage to eat the full 5 rounds, after the third we where already quite full because of the generous proportions. Quality of the dishes, and especially the fish, is very good. Will be back very soon.

Verste, mooiste en beste sushi in breda! Het idee dat je aan het eten bent in een restaurant niet in een “ordinaire all you can eat”.

Een eerste keer hier geweest. Het was OK. Als ik heel eerlijk mag zijn dan houd ik zelf meer van sushi met wat azijn en meer smaak. Maar hier is het best OK en zeker niet slecht. De soep is wel lekker. Ben heel benieuwd en zou best nog weleens terug kunnen komen.

I spent half of my stay in this restaurant throwing up in the toilet for the terrible quality of fish. It's awful quality, full of mayo and salads to cover the flavor of old fish. It was Saturday night and it was half empty and it's in the centre so I really think they buy reviews because the quality is absolutely low for its price (around 45/50 euro each without alcohol). Someone from the staff is really nice especially the girl but some other employees are not professional, they take the dishes out of your hands while you are still eating. Paid €106 for two for stinky fish that made me throw up and feel terrible and fast food service. I mentioned to the staff that I literally spent half of the time there feeling sick in the toilette and yet I had to pay for that disgusting dinner.
