We had a delicious meal in a lovely ambiance. In the afternoon, we started with a charcuterie board and wine, followed by dinner in the evening. It was a shame that we had to wait a long time for drinks or that they didn't come to ask if we wanted another drink. They could have easily earned more from the drinks; several tables had empty glasses. The girl behind the bar was more preoccupied with her phone. And the waiter could only handle two drinks at a time on his tray. In the end, we just got our drinks at the bar ourselves. The somewhat older gentleman was pleasant, even though his shift ended at 9 and he was still there at 10:30. The lady at breakfast was also very friendly and spontaneous.

It is a shame that an increasing surcharge has to be paid for the dinner vouchers. A little more vegetables; salad would be nice.

We went for lunch with 4 adults and had to wait well over half an hour before someone came by with the menu and asked what everyone wanted to drink. Over an hour later, after asking where the food was (we had a small child with us), our lunch arrived after about another fifteen minutes. We also had to ask again ourselves if we could serve another drink. Stale bread that had been put through the toaster again, fried egg, bacon, and something that was supposed to be chicken were cold; the lettuce would go straight into the bin at home. We have never experienced anything this bad. It was the first and last time we came here. The interior looked nice, but that was the only positive aspect of our experience.

After a disappointing three-course menu at Fletcher in Arcen, I went to DuCo somewhat suspiciously. Pleasantly surprised in all areas. Friendly and helpful staff, tasty food, and a good atmosphere!!

Lunch and dinner were both fine.

The food was good. I received a different salad as a starter than the one I had ordered. It was taken away without any problem and replaced with another one. The fruit sorbet at the end was a lot of fruit with a lot of juice and one scoop of ice cream. That was a bit disappointing. We sat outside. Inside it looks very cozy. Outside is a bit dated. But a fine spot.

Nice restaurant, not too busy, the food tasted good. The chef apparently still needed to wake up, because the soup was delivered incorrectly and the club sandwich without tomato—you guessed it—was served with tomato. Everything was resolved professionally by the staff. The service was very friendly!

We had a great meal with a discount menu. The starter and main course were tasty, beautifully presented, and the plates were warm. The dessert, including dame blanche, had probably been sitting out too long, I think, as it was almost liquid.

On Easter Sunday, I went to eat here with my 4-year-old daughter. A children's menu was not available; I was told you could view it on the website. I ordered a tender tournedos and fries with chicken nuggets. The tournedos arrived half-burnt, tough, and dry, without sweet potato as described, but with regular fries; they had run out of sweet potato, which they had forgotten to mention. No one came to ask if the food was to our liking. I only ate the fries and left the meat. I pushed the plate and cutlery aside. After half an hour, an extremely unfriendly man came to the table and asked, "Shall I take this plate away?" I indicated that the meat was absolutely not tender, etc. He reacted irritably and mumbled something I didn't understand. A little later, he returned with the announcement that he would not charge for the children's menu (€6.50). I indicated that I did not agree with that. Eventually, after a brief discussion, he did not put the tournedos on the bill. There was no apology to be had; the man remained very irritated. It is a real shame; we have been to many Duco restaurants and it is always excellent, but we will never come here again. There was also a young woman working there; she was extremely friendly and very spontaneous. Keep up the good work! Without this woman, I would have given my review 1 star.

Scandalously bad! Worthless products, such poor quality. The staff did their best but didn't notice and were incredibly slow. They tell hotel guests they are fully booked. So they try to book online, but is there actually a spot? Breakfast wasn't great either, by the way. Products weren't fresh and there was no service to clear tables. I have never experienced such a bad hotel with a bar/bistro.

Food, service, and atmosphere were good. Everything on the table at the same time and the service was friendly.

Friendly service, the soup could have been a bit warmer, but the main course was just right and hot and delicious. The profiterole for dessert is highly recommended.

We were able to get a room spontaneously at 7:30 pm. Very friendly welcome, even shortly before reception closing time. A very quiet night and a varied breakfast were enjoyed. With helpful tips for the day, we checked out again at 10:00 am, feeling well-fed...highly recommended.

We had a surprisingly delicious meal for a reasonable price. I did miss some background music, though.

I made a reservation for two people with a voucher, but when we arrived at the restaurant, we had to have the voucher number, otherwise there wouldn't be a table for us. When I told them I also made a reservation with my name, the young woman who spoke to us was completely uncooperative. We will never book at Bar Bistro DuCo again and we're letting everyone know. We dined here with our almost two-year-old toddler, using an ING coupon. We'd deliberately made an early reservation so we could meet our daughter's bedtime, as we were also staying at the hotel. The restaurant looks open and inviting. We were here last year as well, and we really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, things were a bit different this year. Upon arrival, we received the wrong menu without any explanation of the arrangement. We should have received a smaller menu because of the coupon. It happens. A colleague brought the correct one with an explanation. They also brought the high chair and children's menu that we'd requested fifteen minutes earlier. When our order was taken, we asked if our daughter's meal could be served with our starter. They said it was. However, when we received our starter, they told us they were out of frikandellen (fried meatballs). The children's menu still had to be prepared, which happens. We finally received her meal five minutes before our main course. That was quite unusual; it took at least 20 minutes. In between, there was also a long wait for a waiter to come by to ask for something or order a drink. We saw they were really trying, but there were simply too many tables occupied for the number of waiters walking around. All in all, the food was excellent. The carpaccio was delicious, but I would skip the pomodoro soup. As a main course, the half chicken is highly recommended, and they serve good fries. Otherwise, there wasn't much to choose from in terms of salad. We were eventually able to take dessert to our room, as it meant the little one was ready for bed sooner because of how long everything took.

Had a high beer at DuCo. The beers were good. The bar food wasn't very fresh. The sausage had an odd color, and the olives weren't that fresh anymore. Excellent service, friendly staff.

I'd booked dinner, which turned out to include a main course. And not all of it; no, you have to pay extra for that. The main course was literally just a piece of meat with one potato croquette-like thing and the same steamed vegetables, which my partner described as ratatouille. I couldn't get through it with a regular knife, and I had to find someone to ask for a steak knife, and by the time it arrived, the meat was almost cold. Lots of tendons in it, and I didn't want to bother with any fuss. Then there's my personal annoyance: Christmas music on December 29th is really unnecessary ;(

We have been there for the second day of Christmas and the atmosphere was nice, fully booked. The food was nicely prepared. The staff was friendly but some not so experienced, some small mistakes. Important is that we felt good and enjoyed their wine selection!

Bar Bistro DuCo is located in the Fletcher Hotel-Restaurant Frerikshof on the outskirts of Winterswijk. This new Fletcher concept is currently available in 8 of the more than 100 hotels. They describe it as a culinary hotspot where many of the dishes are prepared in a Josper charcoal oven. It looks absolutely cozy. The black walls and ceilings inside make the rest of the decor truly stand out. Very stylishly done! The restaurant has an open kitchen, equipped with a Josper charcoal-fired oven. Surely this is an oven that could create fantastic, surprising dishes. The question is: is Bistro Duco a culinary hotspot? You can enjoy a good meal there in a very cozy, stylish atmosphere. But I don't think it's a culinary hotspot. It's a kind of chain restaurant with the same menu at each location, filled with dishes that are centrally conceived and executed in individual locations. This way of working always influences the chefs. The advantage is that the quality is comparable everywhere. And that quality at DuCo is very acceptable. The concept and the menu are somewhat less suitable for booking as part of a Fletcher culinary hotel package. A 4-course à la carte dinner with, for example, a wine pairing or a 5-course à la carte dinner, for example, is a bit much. Personally, I think that for many visitors to this menu, choosing a starter, main course, and dessert is already quite a challenge. Would I recommend it? Absolutely! The main courses are excellent and can be combined with a starter and/or dessert, depending on your appetite. The customer-focused approach to (hotel) guests is reflected in the very correct and friendly service and interaction of the staff.

Atmospheric delicious food and very friendly staff really great

The only reason it gets one star is because 0 is not an option. Never, NEVER in my life before have i walked out of a restaurant without finishing the meal. The incompetence is shocking. Got seated at a table that wasn’t made, next to one that was. (It wasn’t reserved and we also had a reservation). The same girl who brought the drinks can’t take our order(?) the other server took an extra 10 minutes to come. Tried to order the burger, they didn’t have buns (it’s 19:00 on a saturday, how unprepared are you?) Got two amuses (should’ve been one, according to the manager “the chef forgot to throw away the ticket and made it twice) ordered the geitenkaas salade with no beet, got it with beet, sent it back. Got it back with it just thrown off of it, you could still see and taste it. They also forgot the balsamic, sent it back again. Got the same plate back just thrown extra lettuce and balsamic on it, was told they can’t remake it(??? it’s a 5 ingredient salad). I work as a server in the same chain at a different location. If we had a service like this multiple people would’ve lost their jobs on the spot.

Had a delicious meal, nice friendly service

Well, the reception was fine, but the rest wasn't what we expected from a 3-course meal. Vegetables: 2 spoons, 1 potato. Pork tenderloin that was so tough you couldn't even cut it with a knife. The ice cream was half the size of the last time. Service was poor. No napkin and cutlery. The glass was also forgotten. It's a real step backwards. What a shame.

Enjoyed a delicious drink with snacks. Definitely worth repeating!

Never before had the grilled chicken in the Caesar salad been served with a chicken satay stick with the stick removed. It looked like pressed chicken meat shaped like satay. The staff said they would inquire with the chef about this. Nothing more was heard. Unfortunately, the highly praised Josper grill hadn't seen this piece of (pre-cooked?) meat either. The charcoal grill flavor wasn't detectable in the satay itself (as a main course), and it seemed like the same pressed meat, not loose chicken pieces like satay should be. Fortunately, the satay sauce tasted good. Upon inquiry, it turned out they didn't have the local beers listed on the menu. This surprised the Wentersch brewery, which is around the corner, as they do supply beer to Fletcher. A missed opportunity. The staff really tries their best, but if the basics aren't right, it's hard to score.

We were given a soup that was far too salty. We received a different soup that was fine. The rest of the food was fine.

Booked a 2-night deal, including breakfast and dinner. The dinner was delicious, but I'd actually consider a standard portion of potatoes or fries with dinner to be normal. That wasn't the case; I had to order extra fries. I didn't feel it was a complete meal.

The food was quite good. It sometimes took a bit long, and the restaurant staff were certainly friendly, but not entirely knowledgeable.

The tomato soup was delicious, as was the schnitzel. Compliments to the chef and the staff.

We were assigned a small table against an open partition, on a corner. On the other side, there was another small table, packed with people, pressed against the wall. It wasn't pleasant.

Er werd een speciaal mosselmenu aangeprezen. Wij volgden dit advies. De bediening was vriendelijk maar niet bekend met het eigen wijnadvies. Geen punt verder omdat er voldoende alternatieven waren. De mosselen kwamen keurig in een gezellige pan voor twee personen. De bereiding liet wat ons betreft te wensen over. De helft was nog gesloten en de andere helft slijmerig. Kortom te kort gekookt en niet gaar. De koffie na gelukkig prima.

Food was cold and mediocre portions

Not a pleasant option for lunch. There weren't enough staff, and those who were there looked very surprised that we wanted to order lunch. This could also be because they didn't understand a word of the language.

I give it an 8+, the food is well prepared and tasty and the service is cheerful and service-oriented!

We had a Social Deal dinner here. I had a coulash soup and my wife had a carpaccio with an extra charge. My soup seemed vegetarian, as there wasn't much meat. The carpaccio was excellent. The main course was satay for both of us, which was excellent, and the dessert sorbet was very tasty. All in all, excellent value for money.

Beautiful location, friendly staff, food poor in quality with the price, we had ordered the mixed plate twice €33 PP so actually expected a full plate with meat with everything on it and on it we got 4 pieces of meat which did not taste great in terms of quality a very small basket with fries while we had ordered fries and fried potatoes for 2 people we had to order salad separately it was not included, outside a beautiful terrace really nice weather so we actually wanted to eat on the terrace that was not possible and if you wanted to sit outside you have to get your coffee yourself and take it outside very unfortunate while the weather was beautiful and they have the terrace in front of it, I do not recommend this restaurant just because of the menu prices and quality, too bad €115 more and still not a full stomach 😂

The food was okay, but we weren't served what was on the menu. Capaccio without arugula and mixed salad instead of pine nuts. Caesar salad without Parmesan. In general, the salad felt like it was leftovers from lunch. For the price, I would have expected more. One positive thing, however, is the very nice ambiance. 3 stars, but I probably won't eat here again.

Social deal, food was very tasty. Service was disinterested, plates were offered to the wrong tables and in the end there was one coffee too many on the bill. Because the food was very good we might take another social deal.

Een drie gangen menu genuttigd. Was helemaal prima. Iets bijbetalen voor de carpaccio. Prima porties. Jammer dat ze de nieuwe gasten wel heel dicht bij ons plaatsten, terwijl er nog best tafels vrij waren..

We had made a reservation via the internet and received confirmation that it had been approved. When we get there we are told that it was full. It was impossible to talk to the person. Show evidence and just it's full. There were a number of people who could not get in even though reservations had been made. It's just outrageous. We will never go there!!!!!!!

Had lunch here a year ago. Then it was super good. Went for dinner today via social deal. Could order a 3 course menu. Soup beforehand. That was fine. Main course opted for hamburgers with fries and warm vegetables. Fries were the last thing out of the bag. All pieces. Rock hard and super fat. The hamburger was fried over high heat, almost black on the outside and barely cooked on the inside. The hot vegetables consisted of 70% black fried potatoes and the rest was fried vegetables that had no taste. Also all equally greasy. The dessert we chose was a dame blache with eggnog instead of chocolate sauce. But the cook managed to mess it up. The lawyer was very fat and you could no longer taste the alcohol. So the bottle is not stirred well in the beginning or the leftovers are removed from the bottle. We passed it on and they compensated us in the price. But that wasn't what we wanted to do. We wanted to have a nice bite to eat. Never again at Duco for us!!!! We had to rush home by car. Diarrhea at home. Ate too much fat!! If they continue at this level they won't last long.

We hadden via de AH een kortingsbon waardoor we 2x konden dineren voor de prijs van 1(35 euro). Je krijgt een speciaal keuzemenu voor deze gelegenheid. Er was niet veel keuze, maar genoeg om te kiezen. Een lekkerbekje een sateetje etc. Van te voren hadden we dit al bedacht waardoor het een prima ervaring was. Het personeel was vriendelijk maar kan nog een beetje bijgeschaafd worden.

There was a lack of proper guidance from the staff. Tables and glasses were dirty. Drinks that were not delivered. Soup was served without cream and the Salad also lacked the 1 and other. Main course was lukewarm and the fruits were frozen on ice. Very unfortunate. We have eaten here before and it was always good until one of the chefs left. This is now the second time that it was not to your liking. Too bad because it is a very nice thing. Tip for Duco...make sure you get good guidance from an experienced person 😉 the staff is very friendly and do their best 👍

Almost everything was excellent, probably few staff in the afternoon, we had to wait a long time for our order. It is a beautiful bistro and beautifully decorated.

Good restaurant for a Fletcher hotel, pretty good restaurant overall. You can eat quite well here and it is nicely decorated.

What a mockery. Everything that could go wrong went wrong. Too much to type here... The employees and the so-called 'supervisor' probably know very well which table we were at and what mistakes they made. Never experienced such a disgrace before. After a lot of insistence... they still made an attempt at compensation by means of a discount on our bill. This was the least they could have done. They initially tried to powder us with a drink or dessert on the house. Normally nothing wrong with that... but all these errors added together... really too few. And a tip for the so-called 'supervisor'... Do not argue with the guest and do not place the responsibility for mistakes made on the guest. Very bad and not professional at all... You noticed that you had the wrong person in front of you. I would say take another course to become a good supervisor or keep the honor to yourself and allow yourself to be demoted in your position. Once again, it's a real disappointment how this evening went. We will never come here again. For the other male ministry present. Thank you for your efforts and kindness.

Tweede keer in een half haar hier geweest, 1e keer redelijk geirriteerd weg gelopen, we wilden de Horde d'euvre van de kaart bestellen na 10 minuten kregen we te horen dat dit er niet was. Nu nogmaals geprobeerd, voor gerecht van de Chef besteld, de keuze was vlees, vis of vega mijn keuze was vlees.Na 5 minuten kwam de ober dat de keuken dit niet op voorraad had??? Geen creatief team, het lijkt mij dat er altijd iets van vlees is waar je als kok iets van kunt maken, of is er niet opgelet op de koksschool ? Toen het nagerecht. 2x Dame Blanche: ja hoor na 5 minuten er was geen vanille ijs !! wat of we dan wilden. De ober kon er niets aan doen het heeft het netjes opgelost. maar wat een amateurisme en dat voor zo en grote keten. Ons zien ze niet meer terug !!

The price-performance ratio is not right. We had a bread plate with ajoli and herb butter as a starter for €6.50, the "bread" was 1 baked mini baguette roll, that was it. Tasty, yes, but tiny. The main course rip-eye steak for €34.50 with 3 small potato wedges was definitely too small. The second main course fish and chips...😮‍💨for Holland it was just sad. The fish was really greasy and not crispy, the fries had shell on them and there were really a lot of "eyes" dark spots. That for €21.50 was a tragedy. I wouldn't eat there again. Every fish snack nearby is way better! I have a suggestion: send the chef to "Vispaleis" and let him show you how fish and chips are made. I also had a side salad for €4.50 which consisted of 1 mini tomato, 1 slice of cucumber, 3 pearl onions and 5!! torn lettuce pieces, all without dressing. The salad looked like a plate decoration from the 80s. KIND!!! Really not again. The service staff were very good and very friendly!!

Delicious lunch. It was very busy. All tables were occupied and yet things went smoothly without anyone noticing. Tables were neatly cleared and cleaned. Wide choice on the menu. Food was served neatly and quickly (despite the crowds). Friendly staff. So great!

Terrible kła lity service and food. We beef steaks on hot stone but we received medium fried pork. When I asked why I will start that beef was finished and they bring what they have, but not asking me. when I asked what kind of meat is that I was told I don’t know

Soup was lukewarm. For main course: “warm potatoes and vegetables”, but that sounds more than it is. Not yet a whole potato, 6 thin green beans, mini floret of cauliflower and fragment of broccoli. Fries with mayonnaise for €4.50, but that was also a minimal quantity. All in all, not a party 🥳 and certainly the last time we ate a la carte here.

Heerlijk gegeten, 3 gangen diner. Mooi aanbod via Social deal. Aanrader. Keuze uit kleinere kaart, maar voor ieder wat wils. Extra's mogelijk tegen betaling. Vriendelijk personeel, vlotte bediening. Ook zeer sfeervol.

Good food, just that, nothing special or crazy. I had black tiger shrimps served on hot stone. Seasoning was minimal and needed a bit more added taste. Stuff on the side were tasty. Staff were very kind and polite.

Stroopwafelkoffie besteld. Kreeg oreo, zonder te overleggen want de stroopwafels waren op. Koffie koud! Echt koud. Niemand die je aankijkt voor contact. Spuitbusslagroom maar Wel 4,50 vragen. Bij afrekenen het geld op tafel… 11,00 voor u… geen bedankt en tot ziens maar meisje loopt gewoon weg… slechte zaak, niet gastvrij.

Bij het bestellen van het diner zagen we dat er aardappelgarnituur en groente bij in was begrepen ..met deze prijzen mag dat ook wel(. 25,00) Helaas was dit minimaal ook na gevraagd te hebben bleek het te kloppen een halve gepofte aardappel en 2 sperzieboontjes en nog wat groene asperges..klein tomaatje en verder nog wat lichte chips van groente. het vlees( spareribs en kippewings ) was net genoeg voor een kindermaag al met al kwamen we thuis met een lege maag en natuurlijk konden we van alles bij bestellen maar in geval van deze prijs verwacht toch een goed bord eten.. helaas dit was de eerste en laatste keer …aan het personeel lag het net niet…bij het afrekenen hebben wij on s ongenoegen bekend gemaakt helaas kon er geen goed makend kop koffie af …Fletcher luister eens na al deze klachten En doe er wat aan ook voor de mensen die na ons komen

Mensen in de bediening waren er vriendelijk. ( alleen liep er een meisje rond wat volgends mij de mannager was. Zei was niet echt vriendelijk en had volgends mij haar dag niet want dat straatde ze zeker uit) We moesten er lang wachten voor dat het eten er was. Wij vonden het eten niet waar voor dat geld. Je betaald een hoop maar na de tijd ga je nog met een honger gevoel naar huis. Als we drankjes bestelde moesten we er zelf achter aan. Of we moesten naar de bar om te vragen of er nog iemand iets te drinken op kwam nemen. Vond het erg jammer Voor ons geen 2de keer

Na de verbouwing weer helemaal van deze tijd! Prettige sfeer en vriendelijk personeel.
