This restaurant no longer exists!

The food was always decent, and so were the prices. Reservations were required on weekends and for Sunday breakfast. If there were too many guests, the chef couldn't handle it. Yes, friendliness is a problem that's not really common here. We wish you all the best for the future, as the owners have retired. The restaurant is currently closed until a new owner is found.

Delicious food in a lovely spot by the marina! Lots of Germans. Friendly people.

This is the most (child) unfriendly place we have ever been!!! NEVER GO, OWNER IS A MAN WHO HAS NEVER HEARD OF THE WORD HOSPITALITY! Absolutely does not like children! We were treated rudely, looked away and on top of that the menu outside was different than inside: half of it was missing! We finished our drinks and left immediately.

This restaurant is really below par, Especially because it is unfriendly to customers, and works together with a child-friendly camping capfun. Racist and unfriendly to children. It is not clean, the spiders almost fly around your ears when you enter. I have seen restaurants in the middle of the jungle perform better in all areas. You are insulted where you are standing. No, never again

The food is good, we always ignored the rudeness. But yesterday they were the last straw. There were four of us and we ate well. Then the storm came. We had actually already paid and then wanted another drink. We were waiting for a friend who had gotten his car to pick us up (heavy rain, thunderstorm, lightning). We were refused the last drink and were told to leave the restaurant in the pouring rain. The owner commented: We'll get wet too. We won't go there again. We can spend our money elsewhere, but not there.

We were immediately greeted with a very unfriendly welcome because we came with 8 people. Reservation not possible. Were just left there without words. Rude people the owners. They absolutely hate children (and people in general, I suspect, given their antisocial behavior). They would rather see you go than come. Typical case of unsuitability!

We wanted to eat there yesterday with 5 adults and 3 children. We were immediately greeted unfriendly and the rate for 8 people is not possible. Reservations are also not possible. Children not welcome!!!!! The rustically furnished “chip shop” has an inexplicable problem with children as guests. As soon as you enter you realize that they are not wanted and will be treated accordingly. But as a guest you can only feel uncomfortable here due to the icy and annoying climate. Anyone who expects a Hawaiian schnitzel to be gratinated with ham, pineapple and cheese can look forward to counting carelessly placed pineapple slices and otherwise a chip shop with a dining room doesn't have to hide from its culinary side and would create something better. Even the meals advertised on the carelessly laminated and unimaginative menu were only available in patches. Unfortunately, you have to give out stars here, because even one is too many and the ambience of a run-down harbor bar with bar inventory and “charm” couldn’t make the cold and modest overall impression any more bearable. Rather, we would like the little house at the harbor to have a more dignified existence as a storage shed and the staff to have another job without contact with people.

Terrible/Terrible! We've actually been here twice. The first time we thought the staff (chef and waitress) were just strange. The second time it became clear that they detested children. The food was OK, neither particularly good nor bad. The service, on the other hand, I've never experienced anything so bad and we've been to a lot of places. Our children (4 and 2) were really very sweet and quiet and the staff only looked at them with disgust. Another family was there with two children, they were a little louder but not bad at all, this family was kicked out!!!! I've never experienced anything like this and there was absolutely no reason for it. I have never felt as uncomfortable anywhere as I do here. You are definitely not allowed to go here with children! Very strange that capfun Camping apparently cooperates with this. We actually went here twice. The first time we just thought the service people (cook plus one servant) were weird. The food was OK, not particularly good but not bad either. The second time it became obvious that they absolutely dislike children. Our kids (4 and 2 years old) behaved well and weren’t loud, still they were looked at in disgust by the service personnel. Sickening! There was another family there with two kids who were somewhat louder but not bad! This family was kicked out!!!! I have never seen anything like this before and we have been many places and many locations. There was no reason other than the cook and the waitress hating kids. I have never felt so awkward anywhere as I did here. Do not go here if you have children! The really odd thing is that the camping area next to it is somehow associated with this place.

Despite the reviews we read, we dared to do it! We were welcomed and served by a young, attentive waitress. She noticed that we spoke German and automatically brought us the German menu. We ate spare ribs, beef fillet with mushrooms and fries. It was all very tasty.👍

Very unkind people. I came here this afternoon and wasn't allowed to order anything because I'm wearing swimwear. Of course I'm wearing swimwear. It's 27 degrees today and of course I'm going swimming. Dude, you're on the IJssel, what do you expect?

If I could I wouldn't give a star. Such unfriendly staff. Were there with two children. We were allowed to order a coffee. However, there are no pancakes for the children because they have reservations and therefore no option. Oh well, okay. The shop was filled with two other people who, like us, were allowed to sit at an uncovered table and also order food? How does that work? The dark-haired lady also kept looking and the corner, how far we were, simply came with the bill, even though two of us hadn't finished our drinks. The bill couldn't be split either, it goes by table. That was our first and last coffee there. Thank you, your friendliness will never leave your coffee stuck in your throat again

Absolutely unfriendly dark-haired lady in service. We haven't experienced anything so unfriendly in a long time!

The treatment is not nice. Children are not welcome. We weren't allowed to sit on the balcony overlooking the water. For your information, there was no one in the restaurant except us I don't recommend it at all.😡😡

We were there yesterday (Whit Monday 2024). Ambience great, food great, prices OK, service poor. The waitress herself was very nice, the dark-haired lady and a dark-haired man could still work a LOT on their friendliness.

Not a nice welcome upon entering. We were the only ones on the terrace. But they could look away from us. Especially the owner? (Man who worked there) was not helpful at all. We came in with a stroller and the response was actually what are you doing here, and just leave the stroller outside. The children wanted pancakes, it said on the menu. It was immediately said that we have no poffertjes. Why is this on the map? When we finished our drinks, they immediately took our glass away. And not asked if we wanted anything else to drink. They were not friendly to our children either. I don't think these people like children. Nice place on the water but we left immediately after 1 drink. Never again for us.

1 tip: don't go there, and certainly not with children. Customer unfriendly at its finest there

Es stimmt wohl wie der Service/Freundlichkeit hier bewertet wurde/wird, denn diese Erfahrung konnte ich, als eine Holländerin zur Besuch bei Muttie in NL und eben mit ihr dort am 03.07.2023 gewesen, wie aber auch öfters sie mit wiederum andere. Ich spreche für mich, da ich hier nichts gegessen habe, jedoch "nur" Getränke bestellt habe. Das Ambiente ist klasse und wir sitzen deshalb auch gerne da auf diesem Boot. Aber die launhaftige und wenig motivierte Bedienung ist Tatsache. Vielleicht hat das ja einen Grund? Keine Ahnung, denn es könnte ansonsten mit gutem Gewissen empfohlen werden!

Leuk no-nonsens restaurant op het water in een haventje van de IJssel. Vakantiesfeer. Lekker eten, voorzien van een goed glas wijn. Prijs-kwaliteit zijn in verhouding. Vriendelijke bediening en een bekwame kok. We komen hier graag terug!

Omdat we met 6 personen waren kregen we bij het reserveren te horen dat er een beperkte kaart was. Geen probleem, echter mensen na ons gewoon een uitgebreide kaart. Vlees was uitstekend, werd echter verpest door de saus.

Sehr gute Bedienung gute Preise und ein sehr schönes Ambiente. Super Lage. Sehen uns bald wieder.

Das Essen ist Klasse und die Bedienung ist auch Super.Die Kids sind auch immer gern gesehen.

Gut bürgerliche Küche. Das Essen war recht schmackhaft, und wir werden sicher wieder kommen.

Anieta en ik hebben het fijn gehad op zijn hondjes in het damestoilet en de serveerster in haar geknepen en wat extra fooi toe, het was het Esselwaard

Een fantastisch lieflijk plekje op het water met een prachtig uitzicht op het water en de grazende koeien als je tussen de boten heen kijkt. Zeer vriendelijk personeel dat altijd in is voor een praatje. Wat me vooral positief verbaasde was hoe goedkoop de drankjes en het eten zijn. Zeer aan te bevelen ook alleen daarom al; waarbij de proporties perfect zijn afgestemd op de behoeftes die wij hadden. Al bieden ze ook de mogelijkheid het mee te nemen indien mogelijk. Persoonlijk was ik erg fan van de haven schnitzel en de Aperol Spritz doe voor slechts 5 euro te bemachtigen is.

Leider sehr unfreundlich, beim herreingehen direkt komische Blicke, ob würde man uns da nicht sehen wollen. Kinderwagen sollte draußen stehen bleiben. Dann wurde auch die Speisekarte nicht gebracht, die hat mein Mann nach ca. 10 bis 15min selber geholt, obwohl da nicht viel los war. Irgendwann kam das Essen, dass war aber sehr lecker. 2 Sterne wegen dem ganzen Umgang.

War 2 mal da einmal mit Livemusik und war immer lecker

Die Terasse ist bei gutem Wetter wirklich ein Genuss. Wir waren 2x mal hier essen. Essen ist ok. Die Bedienung hinter der Theke, vielleicht ist es die Inhaberin, macht das schöne Ambiente leider kaputt. Ohne diese Dame hätte das Lokal 2 Sterne mehr verdient. Schade.

Ich kann die ganzen negativen Bewertungen überhaupt nicht verstehe. wir sitzen in diesem Moment am Hafen mit tollem Ausblick. Die Betreiber sind super freundlich und das Essen schmeckt genial. Von mir gar nichts negatives.

Am ersten Tag mit Frau und Kind eigentlich sehr gut gegessen und Preis/Leistungen war auch top. Wir hatten Zander mit Pommes, Nuggets mit Pommes und Schweinemedaillons mit Bratkartoffeln. Bedienung sehr freundlich. Heute am zweiten Tag leider nicht so gut. Mein Schwager war zu Besuch, und wir wollten mit Ihm nochmals lecker essen. Vorweg mein Lachs mit Pommes war sehr lecker, allerdings musste ich mir heute die Schale Pommes teilen. Gestern bekam jeder eine eigenr Schale, heute musste man sich eine teilen. Auf Nachfrage hin hieß es, das wäre eine Schale für zwei. Frau und Schwager hatten Giros mit einmal ganzer Schale Bratkartoffeln und einmal zu teilender Schale Pommes. Der Giros war leider viel zu lange drin und triefte vor Fett. Im vorbeigehen wurde gefragt ob alles in Ordnung sei. Es wurde der Giros bemängelt. Hat aber niemand interessiert. Beim abräumen wurde nochmal gefragt, und wir bemängelten den Giros nochmals. Keine Reaktion. Dann kam die Chefin und maulte, wir müssten auch was sagen wenn wir gefragt werden und es nicht schmeckt. Ja das haben wir ja. Hatte bloß keinen interessiert. Patzig hieß es das Giros würde immer so gemacht und wäre hier so üblich. Sie könne sich nicht vorstellen was daran nicht in Ordnung wäre. Tja leider Schade daß man sich die Kunden mit der eigenen Arroganz vergrault. Sobald es Kritik gibt ist dort Feierabend mit der Freundlichkeit. Dabei wollten wir weder neues Essen haben noch den Preis drücken. Kommt halt leider mal vor, daß etwas nicht so ganz gelingt. Aber so eine Reaktion geht nicht. Wir suchen uns ein anderes Restaurant für den Rest des Urlaubs.

Wij hebben hier met drie personen gegeten, goed eten, snelle en vriendelijke bediening. Leuker, goedkoper en lekkerder eten dan eten op de camping zelf.
