Bavette - Burgers & Ballen in Feijenoord

I had the havenbaron burger. It was awesome - it went straight in to my top 5 burgers of all time. I worried when it arrived it was small, but it’s actually the perfect size, especially with the slow cooked wagyu on top! Delicious. The food hall concept is such a great idea - allowing different food to be ordered by each person at the table. Order process was super simple too - via an app from lots of different food stalls; and a drinks bar. You then get a notification when it’s ready and you collect to bring back to your table. We went on a Friday lunchtime so no real wait for food - I imagine this place could get really busy in the evenings. With burgers that good though I’d happily wait!

I has the bitterballen from this place and they're really nice (my first try of this food). I'd be happy to repeat and recommend this place for a taste.

Delicious beef burger zonder kaas, cooked medium and very flavourful. Lovely service as well.

When you ask if she can take your order the answer is "no, just give me a minute". While you have been waiting for a long time and it is not busy. Unfortunately, this has not been tried. Maybe add an extra person to ensure good service?

Super friendly female staff, freshly prepared burger (7 minutes), very juicy tasty meat with fresh salad, tomato and red onion, yummy sauce… well wrapped and enjoyed in sungodown on the above hotel room terrace… definitely will return.

Wagyu balls are not worth it. Meatballs were terrible too. Gravy was watery and tasteless :(

Best bitterballen by far that I have eaten in my one week visit in Amsterdam and Rotterdam, and I ate almost daily bitterballen in different places. These were also the priciest of them, but it was worth the cost difference. Not sure why the location has such a low rating, but my experience was super ok. The guy from the counter was very nice, and the waiting time was very short on a normal week day evening.

Quite literally the best burger I have ever had in my life, the wagyu was cooked to perfection. It couldn’t have been any better, the lady behind the counter is also lovely. Highly recommend and would definitely come back.

Even though you were the only one ordering, you still had to wait 20 minutes, and it was still cold. It's gotten worse in a year. The staff only speaks English, and when you order, they don't understand, and you have to point to the price list. It's also quite tasteless, unfortunately. I've had better food here, but it's been a year since.

Takes a long time, food is not hot, small burgers and it is also way too expensive.

It was just a great hamburger! I ordered it with no cheese or mayo, but it was still really juicy and delicious! Highly recommended! Our daughter was also very happy (and she's often picky). We had to wait for a while – it gets pretty busy in the evening, but it was totally worth it. The whole place is a bit loud, but I personally find it cool. It was also very clean, surprisingly for such a big & busy place. The personnel were very friendly.

The food is alright but charging 9€ for 4 bitterballen is absurd and not even compensated by their service. Their staff is closing the stall at random times to their own liking because they are lazy. Even sometimes at 7pm when foodhallen is full. Horrible wouldn't recommend to anyone.

Unsanitary, burgers are dry and the employees would rather chat than work.

Sunday evening February 5 2023 at 8 p.m. ordered 2 fries and 2 hamburgers at the counter of 'Burgers en Balls' in the Foodhallen Rotterdam, where there were virtually no customers. Half an hour later still no food. The lady clerk was 'not interested in it at all'. Worst service ever. Update Feb 2024: Ate here again on the Sunday evening of the film festival / Volkskrantdag. And let's be honest, there's a nice girl at the counter and now the food is ready in about five minutes. So it is possible, just a matter of good staff

Had the Krotekoker burger with fries, it was delicious, the burger was definitely recommended and the food was ready quickly

Burger was delicious. Fries were also great, although around 50 percent of the fries were cold (really completely cold) Price is way too expensive for the small burger, but we said delicious. Service was neutral, neither particularly friendly nor unfriendly

Tried to order something during lunch, it was very quiet - no lines or anything like that. Standing in front of the cash register, but no contact with an employee who was busy cooking a hamburger and could see us, but no greeting, no notification that she was coming soon, as if we didn't exist. After being completely ignored for a while, we went somewhere else to get something.

Can't say anything about the meat burgers. But the vegetarian bieke burger was so dry and over-fried that it was impossible to remove. I don't think it's really necessary anymore these days. Fries were fine!

We ordered two burgers. We asked for some help as my friend is gluten-intollerant, which was met with confusion and then laughter when we ordered the burger without a bun. While paying the staff operating the register started coughing and commenting 'I'm getting really sick' to the coworker, assuming we would not understand them speaking Dutch. All in all far from professional, bordering straight up rude. The burgers were served with cheap plastic cheese, which I expected better given the price. Although our burgers were served at the same time, one was medium rare and one was cooked dry as a desert. We were not asked how we would like our burgers, so I have to assume they just don't know what they're doing. Also the burgers had barely any sauce. The fries on the other hand were great, generous portion and the truffle mayo is delicious!

I do not know why it has only 3 stars rating at the time of writing but this is the best cheeseburger I’ve ever had. But should consider increasing the manpower for I see only a single person managing the stall. Must be tough on her.

I ordered when not busy, wait time was about 10 mins. Fries and pesto burger were good. Staff was nice as well.

Have been here a couple of times and a hit or miss. Recommending others to order here only when it is not busy and to be proactive in how you like your burger cooked. The food is fantastic in that situation. Right now it seems understaffed/equipped and hope the owner may make changes to support current staff. We waited 30 minutes for two burgers that were overcooked. It’s a shame as we knew the quality of the meat. And as I’ve been here before how good the food can really be.

Ik schrijf nooit reviews, maar dit is de beste burger die ik in tijden heb gegeten! Dus deze verdiende het wel. Ik had de Krotekoker, goed pittig, lekkere combinatie van ingredienten, burger was lekker sappig.

Food was delicious but time taken was more.

Klein burgertje, niets speciaals. Wel prijzig.. 2 kleine burgers, zonder patat of iets erbij, €25,- had er dan wat patat bij gedaan en op een bord geserveerd.

Kwam hier vroeger regelmatig voor de geweldige Havenbaron burger en de heerlijke ambachtelijke friet. De laatste tijd is de kwaliteit helaas gekelderd. Frietjes zijn nu matig en het pulled Wagyu vlees op de burger was droog. Als het allemaal minder dan een tientje had gekost, waren ze er nog mee weggekomen. Maar bijna 20 piek voor een maaltijd die kwalitatief niet veel beter was dan McDonalds, is onacceptabel. Jammer.

Nog nooit meegemaakt dat je weggestuurd wordt omdat het te druk is… 4 man personeel die niks aan het doen zijn, drie burgers op de plaat. Heel jammer, zeker na de tijd dat de horeca te lijden heeft gehad van de corona periode.

Burger pretty good if a little expensive – but had to wait 45 minutes for just a burger on a Thu night. Ridiculous. Can't blame the staff – the one (1) girl that was running the whole place was working very hard and doing a good job. Place seems mismanaged as all other places had at least two people while being less busy.

Ganz ok, Burger Brot fand ich hätte auch noch etwas getostet gehört.

We were waiting 30 min to get our burgers, it was not crowded at all though. And guys, defrosted French Fries in an artisanal burger cafe? Seriously?!!!!

very great and delicious burgers for just around 10€. don't forget to order their fries aswell because they are the best i've ever had! would recommend to anyone for sure (it's definetely worth their price) for foreigners: the english menu card is displayed right at where you order. ! only payments via card are accepted !

Burger werd onbewaakt op een hoekje van de counter gezet, zonder bord of iets. Bestek hebben ze ook niet, enkel betalen via pin. Burger was oke, maar waterige groenten voor 10€
