Verhage in Charlois

I had a very bad experience here. My food didn't arrive until I waited 40 minutes. They also didn't have any tuna for the salad, so they had to go get it first. That, of course, took even longer. They should have been honest about it being gone instead of making me wait so long. Very disappointing!

We used to enjoy coming here, but in recent months, it's gone downhill fast. There's no structure and a lack of management. Waiting 30-50 minutes for your food when only two others have ordered before you, orders that are always just a tad off, forgetting to bring cutlery, and the staff giving off a completely unmotivated impression. The atmosphere has also deteriorated. No more relaxing background music, and the restaurant is barely maintained. The food itself is still fine, that's the only downside.

Waited 17 minutes for fries and a frikadel. The person behind the counter is very disinterested. Airpods in. And you can only pay by card at the kiosk. Which means you have to wait in line twice for Jan with the short last name.

Today my girlfriend and I decided to eat differently. I went to Verhagen to order my food (although nothing tastes like the old owners used to make it). The server told my girlfriend she had to eat her bread outside, but I ordered Verhagen food and drinks. They indicated it was a house rule, but there was no sign saying "nothing is forbidden." When I canceled my order and wanted my money back, the waiter took off his glasses as if he were preparing for a fight and said he never wanted to see us again. The food doesn't taste as good as it used to, the wait was much longer, and they were absolutely not friendly. I wonder how these people are allowed to have the name Verhagen. It's become a disgrace. I used to come here all the time, but now I definitely won't again!

Ordered online through Thuiszorgd. After an hour, I called. I called the number I'd gotten from Thuiszorgd and immediately got a message saying the store was closed. Half an hour later, they called. They were going to deliver. No thanks. I'd already gotten other food for the kids. He did apologize, though. Sorry.

If you're craving cold fries, wrong orders, and employees who try to blame their own mistakes on the customer: go to Verhage Zuidplein. We asked for wedges and got cold fries. The employee misunderstood his own order, walked back and forth twice, and then decided, cold as a whistle, that we had to pay an extra €2.30 for his mistake. And the best part: "Would you like to take this food then?" As if we should be grateful for other people's mistakes. 🤦‍♂️ You also have to wait at the cash register to be helped, and despite there being no other customers waiting, you have to ask first and make yourself visible (in 5 minutes) to be able to order.

After not being there for a long time, I thought I'd grab some fries. What happened? It was quiet, and I had to wait forever for a hamburger menu. And then I forgot my drink, and waited again...the menu was already gone. Then the drinks arrived and they weren't even good. Too bad, it was my last time!

Too lazy to get chicken out of the freezer 4 hours before closing. Bloody expensive, and a filthy place too. Then you call to complain, and they immediately hang up. When you call back to tell them how antisocial they are, they keep bothering you. Creepy people.

Born and raised in Vreewijk, Rotterdam, I knew Pim and Joop, the founders of this chain. Their picture still hangs prominently on the wall. But the service with (laughing) smiles is gone. The food, and that's what you come for, was top-notch. I get it, this isn't a *** restaurant where you're treated with the utmost respect. But hey, a smile costs nothing, right? The whole atmosphere brightens up.

Eten was lauw behalve de friet, duurde lang voor we het kregen. Bij vorige ondernemer was het beter geregeld en eten was altijd in orde. Dit was de laatste keer dat wij er geweest zijn.

How this Verhagen has deteriorated in the last six months. 2 burgers and 1 sandwich 50 minutes waiting. But unfortunately it can be worse 3 X sandwich 40 minutes and see that the order is not correct. When I indicate this the order goes to the back and we get looks from a lady as if it is our fault. Another tip for this lady if you do not want to work here find something else.

And I don't think it's the intention to get your food 55 minutes later at a fast food restaurant.

Very sad that the old owner is gone, the service quality and waiting time have deteriorated bizarrely. For us no longer here unfortunately.

Slow........35 minute wait for food and drinks

Food is always nice, I can't give a 5 because I always eat the same (zalm tostie) it's actually really good but I don't know about the other options. But the staff always nice. Overall Denice, she was on kassa and help me a lot because I get confused with the payment and she helped me a lot.

Eten was lauw, kreeg zacht broodje in plaats van stokbrood bij saté. Het eten was echt niet goed warm. Heb hier sltjjd goed gegeten maar nu viel het zwaar tegen. Kon nog wel stokbrood krijgen maar dan was m'n saté helemaal koud geweest.

For the first time we did not receive the correct order. Strange for us, because we have been coming there for years and are always very satisfied. It turns out that the old owner has transferred the business to a new owner. Hopefully it doesn't change. That would be a shame. Perhaps a hint for the new owner to include Verhage's meatballs on the menu. They are currently not available at Zuidplein.

Delicious meal at Verhage! Last Friday I had dinner at Verhage and it was a great experience! I had the stew, and it was perfectly prepared – tender, flavorful and just the way it should be. My friend went for the Compete menu and was also very satisfied with it. The portions were generous and everything tasted good. In addition, the service was friendly and fast, and the atmosphere in the store was pleasant. Definitely recommended if you fancy a good meal with quality! We will definitely come back here again. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Nice place to have a nice meal.

We moesten drie kwartier op ons drinken wachten en zelfs een uur op ons eten. Toen het eten er eenmaal was, kregen we dit niet tegelijk en aten we praktisch om de beurt. Het eten was overigens wel prima.

Standing there for 10 minutes being left unattended. They are only nice to Dutch speaking white people.

I recently visited Verhage, and I must say it exceeded all my expectations! The atmosphere was warm and modern, providing the perfect setting to relax and enjoy a meal. The menu offered great variety and the food was delicious – fresh, flavorful and beautifully presented. The staff were friendly, attentive and made sure our experience was great. Whether you come by for a quick bite or an extensive meal, Verhage has something for everyone. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for good food and excellent service. I'll definitely be back!

Food was fine, it was just not clear to us that you had to order at the cash register and that no orders would be taken, which is the impression you get when there are menu cards on the table.

I bought a sandwich, of course I had to wait a while for it. My friend who was with me was told that she could not take a bite of her sandwich because she had not bought it from them. I wanted to buy drinks but I didn't feel like doing that anymore. Toasti was not tasty either.

The staff could be a bit friendlier. It does not have to be said in a catty way that a customer who has ordered €25 worth of food is told that no other food can be eaten. This could be communicated in a normal tone.

Food looked good. Unfortunately the bread was old and burnt. The tuna salad came from a package and was not home made. The raw vegetables were brown. The onions were really coarsely chopped. And lots of capers.

This Verhage is located in the busy shopping center, the tables are well arranged so that you can still sit quietly. Unfortunately, the menu is quite limited for a Verhage restaurant and the emphasis is on chicken dishes and halal, which suits the location well.

Had a delicious meal at Verhagen on the Zuidplein. We will definitely come back again. It was quite busy, but the wait wasn't too bad. Friendly employees.

Had a delicious carpaccio sandwich and the cappucino was very tasty. It's nice that there is a choice of brown (soft) bread. Bread nice and fresh. Friendly service and nicely decorated.

Delicious fries rendang. I would choose to serve the atjar separately. The rendang was tender and nicely seasoned. The fries at the bottom of the bowl had become completely soggy (I think because of the moist atjar) and that made it not very tasty to eat. Furthermore, a cozy place with friendly staff. We did notice that the seats were a bit tight because the tables were fixed, It is understandable that you want to make optimal use of the space and with a bit of trial and error it will work just fine.

Love coming here, it has really tasty soft ice cream.

I always drink latte macchiato, but lately it seems like all I drink is milk. It is no longer as beautiful as it used to be.

Friendly, fast service. French fries were excellent. Prices were great! We will definitely return. This place is much better than KFC or McDonalds.

We went here on the premise that they had vegetarian options and the burger looked good on the photo. Once we ordered we sat down in one of the coziest places in Zuidplein😃😊 once the food came I had to take pictures because everything looked immaculate! The burgers are freshly made, presented beautifully on these plates. Everything was warm, the veggies freshly cut and the fries looked too tasty! The burger, together with the salad and fries will leave your stomach on full for almost the entire day! My bf got the bacon burger, of which he was pleasantly surprised the bacon was real bacon and not breakfast bacon. Thank you Verhage for this extremely delicious meal!😁😁

Te slappe patat en te harde kipcorn, komt niet overeen met wat we gewend zijn van Verhage, de vestiging in Rhoon Portland is vele malen beter.

Simpel tentje met leuke mensen waar je even lekker relaxed kunt eten en drinken.

The 3 piece chicken menu is one of my favorites here. It has a good taste , not to dry and will fill your stomach!

Always great food. Would certainly the truffel fries and the chicken. Great service and convenient when you are tired from shopping.
