BBROOD in Noordelijke IJ-oevers West

The staff wasn't very friendly. The place was completely empty, and I ordered a coffee and a toasted sandwich for almost 10 euros. Yet, I had to wait at the counter for my coffee, which was lukewarm. Apparently, bringing the toasted sandwich to the table was too much trouble. You should expect some level of service, especially when it's quiet. It's a shame, this doesn't encourage me to come back.

As a neighbor who stops by this café regularly, I’ve noticed that weekends have become increasingly difficult. The space often fills up with visitors, many of whom stay for long periods without actually consuming anything. Because of that, it’s hard for those of us who come in to order and sit down to find a place. I’ve also been surprised to see hot drinks being served in paper cups even when people are staying in. It changes the atmosphere a bit and feels out of step with what the café usually offers. This is a place I genuinely like and want to keep supporting, which is why I hope the team might consider a few adjustments—whether that’s encouraging turnover at tables when the shop is busy or bringing back proper cups. Small changes could really help maintain the welcoming experience the café for everyone day-trippers and regulars. And a big shout out to the curly black hair girl, her sympathy is beyond the bavarege, I always feel confortable, how the cafe should be like and she is there.

Very cute and quiet cafè. Unfortunately, they don’t have matcha :( but their chai latte was amazing!

The Koffie was amazing! Tried a few of the pastries and they were good as well.

Delicious coffee, cakes and especially bread

I used to come here almost every morning, but the staff are consistently unfriendly and always seem unhappy to see customers. It’s disappointing to start the day with such negative energy. I won’t be coming back.

Tasty bread but staff were handling bread and cookies with bare hands — no gloves or tools. Very unhygienic and disappointing.

Unfortunately, the coffee was brewed much too hot. The focaccia also had little flavor.

Sunday morning almond croissant and a cappuccino. Freshly baked croissant a decent cup of coffee. It’s really a grab and go kind of place - no plates / glasses. Decor is very NDSM…industrial. There was a queue (probably because the flea market was on), it wasn’t overly busy, but could do with a few extra tables. Overall, good quality and nice friendly staff.

The worst croissant in my life) Albert Heijn (which in right before BBrood) has better ones. The woman who was giving the pastries was taking them WITHOUT the gloves … disgusting.

The Omelette toast was delicious! Very friendly service.

A bit of a shame, I got spelt bread on Saturday and tried to have it cut at 8 and opened it on Sunday, everything was crammed into a bag, there were pieces of 10 cm really inedible, I went back and the same guys helped me again and looked at me as if he saw water burning and asked me what should I do about this, I said what do you think, luckily a nice lady was standing next to him and got a new loaf, a bit of a shame that I had to go to the baker again on Sunday morning, but it was neatly resolved

A cafe with pastries at the end of the road. We bought a cheese croissant that came straight out of the oven and a great cheese stick, a soft spinach pastry and a triangular bourbon with apples that was really, really delicious. Delicious coffee at a great price. On the way to the Strat Museum

Very good, calm and friendly atmosphere

Very good bakery with lots of goodies. My absolute favorite was the Appelflap, but the croissants and other pastries did not disappoint either!

Lovely bakery with excellent coffee and delicious pastries. There’s a small seating area inside, and restrooms are available. The staff are exceptionally friendly, speak English, and give you plenty of time to choose—no rush at all. The coffee is wonderfully rich in flavor, and the pastries are just as delightful. A truly welcoming spot!

Excellent biodynamic baked goods, Kaasstengel, cheese croissants, and especially the marzipan-filled almond croissants are super delicious!😋😋😋

I came here to get a coffee and a pastry for breakfast. The cafe was nice and spacious. The staff were nice and spoke English. There were many options for pastries, but not as many for coffee. My coffee and pastry were good. The seating was limited and not everyone in my group had a chair to sit on.

We visited BBROOD during our trip to Amsterdam and really enjoyed it! The coffee was rich and smooth, and the pastries were fresh and delicious. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. A great little spot to relax and enjoy a tasty break. Highly recommended if you’re in the area!

We stayed in a hotel nearby and I got addicted to their mackerel sandwich. The bread was amazing and friendly service.

I loved the spinach pastry, the raisin bread was also delicious. I liked that it had ample space to sit.

We stopped by to get a coffee to warm us up and we were so disappointed. 3,95€ for a quite small latte with oat milk that had like 5cm of badly done foam. It almost didn’t taste like coffee. The woman who served us was nice and the cafe is nicely decorated, however most seats were taken by people working on their laptops, so it wasn’t very inviting to sit in and talk while having a coffee.

They make excellent quality bread.

The bread and coffee we got were pretty meh, the coffee was super bland, and the bread was nothing to write home about. Honestly, the only reason I’d recommend this spot is ‘cause it’s close to the ferry and if you’re starving. Otherwise, you can skip it.

Dumbest queue system ever, no names or numbers, waited 30 minutes for two toasties with a baby because others jumped the line to collect identical orders. Avoid.

It was alright. Maybe even less than. The croissants are dry and fruit fly’s everywhere. There was a literal pigeon in the building. ( on table in photo) Who knows what other animals are there 👀

The female workers are extremely rude

Very rude female staff. Rolled her eyes when we asked for ice without any communication and looked like she didnt want to be working. When talking to her other staff members she will be smiling and laughing.

Nicely decorated place and tasty pastries etc. But every time I come here the service is bad and the staff is just really unfriendly. I accidentally walked in with my dog ​​for a coffee, not knowing that my dog ​​was not allowed in and being spoken to harshly by a grumpy employee. She was really very unkind, to say the least. Second time here, again an unfriendly employee. And she turned my latte with normal milk over with my friend's large capuccino with oat milk, so I got a latte with oat milk and she really didn't pay attention to her cappuccino with normal milk or maybe she did it on purpose herself?

Great place on the Docs, you can eat there, they have a wide range of breads, their cheese toasti is succulent, the place is really very pleasant, we are always very well received there!!!!!!

I work near by and I love this place. Great design/interior and the bread they sell is awesome. Perfect to chill on a lazy Sunday.

The cafe that won't let me feed the birds outside ✖️✖️✖️ Bird hater! Also, the food inside is not fresh, I never recommend hard croissants, they are hard and tasteless... I asked for napkins and they said there were no more, their coffee was bad. There's a long wait inside, it's tasteless. But above all, animal-hating cafe management!!!

Really welcoming and beautiful place, shame about the few vegan alternatives, therefore alternatives to food produced by animal exploitation, but those present are still good. I recommend it but I hope they soon become totally Vegan, a city like Amsterdam must be a pioneer in these sustainable policies.

The people who work there are not very friendly. If you ask for something, you get a grumpy look and the chai literally tasted like milk.

Still the tastiest freshest bread on NDSM. The almond croissants here are really 10/10. The coffee is fine.

Great neighborhood bread bakery with amazing coffee! The smell with definitly bring you in! My go to is the cappuccino with oat milk. All of their breads are sourdough breads which are produced by sustainable soil and organic products. They have a great selection of assorted breads, croissants, small pastries and toasties. During the winter months they also offer, Amandel gevulde koeken (almond paste filled cookie) a Dutch cookie that is amazing! They also sell coffee beans and their signature oatmilk, which is so much better than any grocery store oatmilk. The staff is accomodating and helpful. It can get busy during weekends and holidays, but they do a great job keeping up fresh product and getting orders out quickly. Its great for dine-in or takeway. 10 out of 10 highly recommend!

Really overpriced, chronically out of stock, the pain au chocolat is worse Albert Heijn’s, and coffee is not great either. The spinach broodje, lemon tarte, and the dates and coconut pastry are nice.

The range of food is small, mainly pastries, tasty. We liked the coffee. The establishment is not very clean and not very comfortable, there are few tables. A hair was found in a glass of water.

Super grumpy on the phone, no Dutch speaking, an order takes 3 days at the earliest, the lady on the phone says and how she says it, B class bread, Z class employees. And those very angry ladies also work in Amsterdam West, what bothers them so much?

Worst coffee ever. So sour, feels like filter was never cleaned.

Very adequate name - they do in fact sell bread here (in fact, some of the best bread I've had in the Netherlands). The staff is very friendly and fun, the place is really clean and cozy. Highly recommend!

When I order a sandwich, I expect a sandwich with this bread and not a sandwich with plain dry bread without asking if I want this? it's also a bit of an effort to bring the sandwich to my table if you see me sitting there instead of shouting about sandwich! and then pick it up yourself and sit back at the table. The ladies clearly don't feel like it. Furthermore, the fabric seating area may also need to be knocked down every few hours, as it is full of breadcrumbs

The cappuccino is amazing. I usually order a latte or an Americano. This time I asked her, “What is delicious on your side?” She said cappuccino, and I took her recommendation. “Delicious.” Once again, 10/10. Fijne en ambachtelijke broden. Soms lang wachten omdat er weinig personeel is die ook koffie maakt. Prijzen passen bij dergelijk bakkersambacht.

Im so sorry if our standard is too high but we were a bit disappointed to see the filling inside the tosti kimchi 🥹 the tosti could be more tasteful since we think it was a bit too tasteless. The only thing was good was the bread 🥹 i bet the coffee and other bread is good but for us this tosti is not really what we imagined 🥹

€5,00 voor een halfje brood (caissière: oh, ik had verkeerd gezien is toch niet €2,40) en om 17:00 mag je nog wel afrekenen maar absoluut niet naar de wc. Snap dat je graag naar huis wil op zondag, maar kan ook vriendelijker. Wij komen nu iig niet weer.

Belle Boulangerie mais aucune traduction en anglais des toasts, pas d’effort pour traduire aux clients. Et toast relativement chers et sans trop de goûts car très secs.

L’accueil est plutôt agréable, le lieu est cosy mais le café n’est pas spécialement bon. Tout comme le pain au chocolat. Les prix sont trop chers pour la qualité proposée.
