Brood- en Banketbakkerij Lia in IJburg Zuid

This is my second time here, and every time I've been made to feel uncomfortable. They don't seem to like the fact that I don't speak Dutch yet, so they won't look me in the eye or answer my questions. They just hand me a dirty bag full of holes. It was the same as last time. I've just moved to the Netherlands and am struggling to like my new life here, so I hope that people who behave like these women aren't the majority. It's a shame that such a discriminatory store has such good reviews.

Just spent two days in IJburg from the city. I was afraid I'd miss the sourdough spelt bread, but this one is even more delicious!

Delicious bread and friendly staff!

Well, I got a few sandwiches from this bakery for the first time. What a flop. You pay €3.75 for all the sandwiches. Even for a currant bun with a slice of cheese. A currant bun costs €0.75, so I pay €3 for one slice of cheese from Lidl. I got three other sandwiches, including one with brie and walnuts. Well, the slices of brie were simply invisible and tasteless. They were so thin. In short, it's truly outrageous what they charge for the quality they offer. I'll never go to this bakery again. It's simply theft.

Delightful! The staff were great helpful explaining what things were when we (not Dutch speakers) could not figure it out. And food was absolutely delicious! Highly recommend the apple triangle pastry and croissants!

Fond memories of Bakkerij Lia. Years ago, when I was in high school, I went there almost every day. Every day I got the cheese rolls, which I think cost €1 or €1.50 back then. Always served with a smile. If I'm ever in the area, I'll definitely be back.

Unwelcoming staff. They don't like foreigners. They treated me very badly just because I didn't speak Dutch. Lack of professionalism and attitude of conptempt.

At Christmas and Easter, this is my go-to place for duivenkater and especially the Christmas/Easter currant bread. It's fantastic! It's almond paste with a cherry. And with good, direct communication, a WhatsApp message and it's always ready.

Great neighborhood store. The owner is great and always remembers what our normal order is. Personal service with a smile.

I got a baguette here. Super tasty. Soft. And not hard like most baguettes. Highly recommended.

Sometimes there is little choice, but otherwise an excellent bakery

Today I got a sourdough bread with multigrain. Costs €4.50, expensive but no problem if it tastes good. However, bread was already a day old. This is the second time it has happened, so this was my last time with Lia. Even though the employees are always nice, your product just has to be good.

Mijn vaste bakker, bij ons thuis smullen ze van het brood. Ik kan ook altijd even bellen in de ochtend of ze brood apart houden, vaak noteren ze mijn nummer en bellen ze me nog even einde dag als ik in de drukte bijna vergeet mijn brood op te halen. Super service, heerlijk brood.

The best croissants, a huge variety of bread, cakes, cookies, sandwiches and specialties, all by the kindest and most special Lia and her team.

Per ongeluk kwamen wij in deze bakkerij terecht na een bezoekje aan Kaddour ( de slagerij ernaast). Het brood is onwijs vers en betaalbaar. Wat is het brood bij onze dorpsbakkerij dan prijzig. Ik raad Lia zeker aan!!

Amazing bakery! The sweets are never too sweet, and the bread is always fresh and good. Plus the two ladies who work there are really nice :)

Wat een topper is Lia. Keurige zaak, heerlijk brood (Waldkorn) en super lieve service!

Altijd lekker vers brood. Jammer dat ze niet meer op zondagmorgen zijn geopend.

Heerlijk brood, vooral de pompoenbrood is mijn favoriet. Ook de bediening is altijd erg vriendelijk.
