The menu offers delicious options such as tender rib eye, slow-cooked Black Angus, juicy spareribs, chicken satay and several tasty burgers. Seafood lovers can enjoy dishes like sea bass and fish & chips, while the vegetarian roti and beetroot risotto are excellent alternatives. The desserts also sound tempting, especially the tarte tatin and cheesecake. With generous, comforting dishes and a welcoming atmosphere, BAS is a great choice for a relaxed lunch or dinner in Barneveld.

Had a tasty meal; the price-quality ratio is good. Fast and friendly staff. Never once did we have to wait long for service or our order. The atmosphere could be better, though; it feels a bit disjointed with separate covered terraces and indoor areas everywhere.

The service, including Elise, was also very pleasant, and we were served quickly yet still had time for a nice chat. Unfortunately, we didn't take a photo, so you simply have to go eat there and experience it for yourself! We will definitely be back!

Last Wednesday, July 15th, we thoroughly enjoyed the pincho evening! The food was truly delicious, and of course, we shouldn't forget the tasty sangria. 😊 We sat on the terrace on the town hall side, and what a lovely evening we had there! The waitress working there really topped it all off. What a fun, spontaneous, and cheerful girl! It is so nice when someone stands at your table with so much joy; it makes the whole evening just that little bit more fun. Our compliments; we enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back!

Since the takeover and the arrival of the new head chef ('old' acquaintance Michael Kuhlman) and a fun group of enthusiastic service staff, BAS is completely back! We had Pinchos yesterday and enjoyed it to the fullest. And let's not forget the delicious 'Sangria Petra', which drinks like lemonade but certainly isn't! We'll be feasting again soon at the Street Food evening!

Within a week, I got sick twice after visiting Bas. Also, a table outside was supposed to be arranged after making a reservation; I checked again the day before to see if this had been taken care of. Unfortunately, we were seated inside, and nothing further was done about it. It's a shame, but we will be skipping next time.

We ate here after our visit to the musical 40-45. We ordered spareribs and a beef hamburger. The atmosphere is good, the food is tasty, and the service is good.

We were given a table in a draft. (There was a cold wind.) People who came in after us, and who had also made reservations, were given a choice of where they wanted to sit (multiple couples). Other couples were also asked if they wanted to keep their window/door closed because of the cold. Unfortunately, this was not suggested to us either. Once we ordered food, we had to wait a long time for a bread roll with some spreads. The starter went a lot faster after that. Unfortunately, it didn't include everything on the menu. The smoked salmon was sliced ​​too thickly for salmon carpaccio, but otherwise it was fine. The waitress asked if the main course could be served immediately or if we wanted to wait a little longer. We were told to wait 10 minutes and then they could start. But you guessed it, it just didn't arrive. We asked another girl if everything had gone well. Apparently, she had forgotten. (That can happen, of course.) We were told that our food was on its way. Unfortunately, no real apology was offered. Later, the girl who had forgotten us also came outside. She was startled when she saw us sitting at an empty table. She even asked her colleague if the food had already been cleared. When she heard that it had, she walked straight past us without saying anything. We found that the worst part of the whole evening. Normally, I would have said something about all of this, but due to a private situation, I didn't feel much need to do so at this moment. Otherwise, the food was fine. But unfortunately, our experience with this restaurant was not good.

Last night, this Bas wanted a bite to eat, but where do you end up in Barneveld? Many places are closed on a Tuesday, and Rose Garden even has a door open on Tuesday... but that's another story. The standard options weren't an option for a while, and then BAS suddenly popped up. So, for the first time, I went back to BAS in Barneveld, and honestly: it was a surprisingly pleasant reunion. It had been years since I'd been here. That was all due to less than stellar—well, actually downright bad—experiences in the past, both during the Babbel era and when BAS had different owners. As a result, this place wasn't exactly at the top of my list anymore. But sometimes you just have to give a place another chance, and I absolutely didn't regret that. Upon arrival, I received a friendly welcome and picked out a nice spot myself. BAS recently opened on Tuesdays, so it was nice and quiet in the shop, as I think it's not very well-known yet. Later in the evening, a larger group arrived, but even then the atmosphere remained pleasant and relaxed. Of course, there was a bottle of wine, which was perfectly drinkable—no pretense, no fuss, just delicious. There was also a Crodino on the menu, which you don't see very often. That alone almost earns you sympathy points, because it's nice when a restaurant offers something a little different than the standard soft drink list and barely any decent non-alcoholic options. A sandwich with spreads was served as a starter, and that too was simply excellent. Not a pitiful basket with half a baguette and a tub of butter that someone had angrily eyed, but a delicious warm bread with three delicious dips! Then came the real treat from Chef Michael Kuhlman's kitchen. We opted for the beef brisket and the Mexican fajita, and both were more than excellent. In fact, in terms of portion size, garnishes, and especially taste, it was simply excellent. It was exactly what you hope for when dining out: delicious food, great flavors, and plates that have been carefully prepared. The temperature was also truly excellent. And that might sound like a minor detail, but anyone who's ever received a lukewarm main course knows this is essential. The chicken dish for the fajita was truly piping hot, as it should be. Not a bit warm-ish, but seriously hot. Just how we like it. The service was also friendly, attentive, and came by regularly without being intrusive. Just as it should be: present when needed, invisible when you're enjoying your meal and conversation. That really makes a difference. All in all, this experience was more than good. Under the current owners, Robbin and Youri, and with chef Michael Kuhlman, BAS truly deserves to be full. This restaurant is highly recommended for a pleasant evening out, during the week, on a weekend, or perhaps before heading to the musical 40-45 at the Midden Nederland Hallen, as they also have a musical menu! In short: I arrived with considerable historical trepidation, but I went home—well, I waddled to De Zwaan—with a full belly, an empty wine bottle, and the conclusion that BAS definitely deserved a second chance, and they certainly delivered. I'm curious about the restaurant's further plans and developments under its new owners and chef.

The food was delicious! The atmosphere was cozy and the staff friendly. The ribeye was perfectly cooked, tender, and full of flavor. Definitely recommended; I'd love to come back.

The atmosphere in the conservatory was great, even on a quiet Sunday evening. But that was it. The food was subpar. An expensive sea bass with only a lemon for flavor, served with a cone of fries? Mexican faijitas (aka: here you have a filling, you just have to make them yourself with the flatbreads from Albert Heijn). Vega roti was just a bowl of soup. When we asked if that was the way it was supposed to be, she went to ask and came back with the answer, "The chef thought it was very watery too." Why do they serve it then? Then, half an hour later, we asked to have it removed from the bill, and a third person had to come over to decide. We had to bring up the round dessert ourselves. There are a lot of young people working who can't (yet) make small talk. It's a shame about their potential. But there's work to be done.

In mid-February 2026, we dined here with three people before attending the musical 40-45. Therefore, we were offered a special "musical menu." We didn't take advantage of it. We had made a reservation in advance to guarantee a table. We were seated in one of the restaurant's dining areas. The conservatory by the door still had plenty of seating available. We received a friendly welcome, and our drinks were taken. They were brought to our table shortly afterward. We were allowed to take our time ordering our dishes. We chose both starters and main courses. There was a good amount of time between ordering and receiving the starters. The cream puff, in particular, was a delicious surprise! It was presented nicely, and it tasted delicious! The ingredients were well-balanced. The sandwiches and soup were also delicious and warm. The Caesar salad was just okay. The burgers were also okay; nothing special. The prices are in line with the market, which is fine. The dishes wouldn't have cost much more for us. All in all, we had a great dinner, friendly service, and a nice atmosphere.

7:00 PM for a show, and we went to dinner very early (4:30 PM) with a reservation. The appetizer took over 45 minutes, and the main course also took over 45 minutes. Then we ate it all hastily and paid as quickly as possible. All in all, it took two hours, feeling rushed. The schnitzel was "a shoe sole" and the bread board was "on the house" on the receipt. In short, a very unpleasant experience with this restaurant.

Besides the food, we also received excellent service from the young waitress with brown hair. She knew what she was doing and was incredibly helpful and friendly. One of us had an allergy, and she explained everything we could and couldn't eat. The food was also very tasty and plentiful, and we didn't have to wait long. We will definitely be back!

Fancy a bite to eat after the musical? Well, not here! What a disappointment. The pepper sauce tasted like a bag of water. The waitress tried to tell us, but after walking past three times, we received no response. The meat was tasteless, and the plate was a pile of green goo with a single half-cooked carrot. Actually, our gut feeling was already right when we arrived... there were only four people inside on a Sunday evening at 6:15 PM. Not recommended!

I received a response from the company regarding the review below. I immediately sent them an email, but haven't gotten a reply. So even that's not working... unfortunately. I'm not one to complain, but the service was poor, the food was cold, several dishes were missing, and I even had to ask for dessert. The main course, which costs €30 per person for two, comes with a ridiculously small bag of fries. We even sent the food back because it was inedible. And the emergency exit was locked!! We asked for the bill, but they didn't even bring it. We went to dinner with six people, but I'll never come back.

We went to see the musical 40-45 in Barneveld. It started at 5 p.m. and finished around 7:30 p.m. Luckily, we hadn't had a proper late lunch, so we were fine, but we still felt like eating something. So we googled "fries in Barneveld" and found this place, a 5-minute drive away, which was ideal. We turned on the navigation and went. We parked the car and walked a short distance. We initially overlooked it. 🙈 But luckily, it all worked out, and they had a spot for us. We had a delicious meal here, which tasted great after the long journey, the nice walk, and the beautiful musical.

I had a super delicious BAS Burger. There was something wrong with the avocado bun. But it was neatly resolved, and we got a free drink on the house.

We occasionally make a trip to BAS on Monday evenings, but every time we're disappointed because we have to walk up to the staff ourselves to ask if we can order more drinks or snacks. We were with a large group and asked if it was possible to make a salmon dish and a cauliflower dish gluten-free. We didn't get an answer, but instead received a dish that had been stripped down. Even another salmon dish had been made gluten-free—meaning, also stripped down. We also received three cones of fries for 10 people (the extra fries we ordered were duly included on the bill). When we told the manager of our disappointment, one of our group made a joke, which made her react very offended, telling us to go elsewhere next time and that she wouldn't do anything with our comments.
