Friendly man, good service, delicious food

The food there is absolutely delicious!! But that was five years ago. These days it's absolutely nothing. What a shame...

Delicious, authentic Italian food! Friendly service. Still the same! Super nice people. I posted this review a few years ago and it's now been changed! Not by me! Only the first sentence is mine, but Alberto still worked there back then.

What a disaster, no atmosphere and they are seriously below standard!!!

One star is still too much. The pizzas were half-raw, lukewarm, and pale. They had very little toppings, 7 mushroom slices—I think the slices totaled 1 whole mushroom—and 6 bell pepper strips. The salami was simply awful, thick slices. I called and told them the food wasn't good! The answer was, "Never had any complaints before," and then they hung up. I ordered one salami pizza and one Quattro Stagioni pizza, totaling 27 euros. Not recommended.

Raw dough mediocre pizza, bad business since the takeover by the snack bar

Two exactly round and exactly the same size pizzas. Also very evenly topped and served 5 minutes after ordering. I suspect frozen ones or at least 'pre-cooked' pizzas. Too bad, the new owners don't know the first thing about it. Moreover, 'burgers' on the menu! In a pizzeria! That says enough in my opinion. When it was still in Alberto's hands I always ate well there.

My pizza was burnt on the bottom. Also it seemed like the pizza dough was ready-made or old really not tasty. Only got 1 slice of salami and 1 slice of ham. On my pizza.

Since the new owners this is no longer a restaurant. It is already full of drunk men at 6 o'clock and everyone looks at you strangely when you come in, also the music is super loud. Don't look at the old reviews and don't go here.

The most delicious pizza I had ever eaten, real Italian! Atmosphere is nice, employees are very nice and with good experience. That is really my place for the coming period. Recommended!!

One of the tastiest pizzas I've eaten in the Leiden area! They also have delicious spareribs. Price-quality is in a good ratio. For me, one of the nicest places to pick up food in the Merenwijk. Owner is also very nice!

18 EUR for one bottle of wine is inexpensive. I do not expect the luxury crystal glasses with this price but at least clean glasses. The wine glasses were with the lips and fingerprints stains. Greasy and Gross. We asked for the new ones but the new ones were same. The sauce bottle was dusty and sticky. Pizza was ok-ish, not eye opening or good enough to forget the hyegine status. If I were able to give 0 star, I would. Absolutely no willing to revisit unless they change their hyegine sense.

Restaurant heeft nieuwe eigenaar. Italiaanse sfeer en kwaliteit zijn verdwenen. Eten smaakloos, wijn waardeloos. Bediening vriendelijk en met humor. Als dit niet snel verbetert zullen ze niet lang bestaan. Jammer voor de buurt.

Snack bar Bella Donna. Everything is ready-made and I can also get it from the freezer at home. Prepared by someone with white saliva in the corners of the mouth. Downright gross.

De eerste twee gerechten die ik bestelde (Spaghetti frutti di mare en Pasta fantasia) waren niet te krijgen. Helemaal niets met vis of zeevruchten! Toen maar een pizza tonno (mwah) en een spaghetti ragu (mwah) besteld. Samen 25,50 euro. Verder een buitengewoon treurig geheel: twee oude mannetjes, nauwelijks Nederlands sprekend, verder dood en verlaten. Kortom: ik denk dat ze binnen drien maanden failliet zijn. En terecht.

Pizza is freshly prepared with top quality fresh soil

Was our favorite pizzeria for years, but after the takeover by the people of the snack bar, the once excellent atmosphere, the loving interior and service have disappeared. The food has not improved and the cutlery has not become cleaner. The cloudy wine was of questionable quality. The regular clientele of Bella Donna is calling it quits, and so are we. We no longer feel at home among many of the new customers. Snack bar Bella Donna is no longer there. We will not go there anymore.

Since Alberto left we haven't been there. Good atmosphere has disappeared. Snackbar Bella Donna.

Since Alberto's departure and the arrival of staff from the Snackbar De Koperwiek, things have changed a lot in a negative way. Pizzas are different (ready-made), and suddenly it is also a snack bar with spare ribs and burgers, which is a shame. The cozy Italian atmosphere is gone. There are also very different people who are noisy and not social because of a different environmental class. We always liked coming here, but we won't be coming back here again. We will also leave takeaway for what it is.

Here you can eat delicious pizzas. Price quality is top. Atmosphere reasonable to good. Wqt overdue maintenance. The food size is also great!

Great pizzas, but why does it take so long? You wouldn't let a group with children wait 1.5 hours, would you? The waitress said it was busy with takeout pfff... well make a choice if you don't have enough staff. At the very least, discuss! Also no compensation in any form. This was the last time for us anyway.

We hebben hier wel besteld, dat was prima. Nu hier een keer ter plekke gegeten. Meisje in de bediening was erg aardig en gaf na ANDERHALF uur wachten aan dat online bestellingen voorgingen. We hadden jonge kinderen bij ons. Niet oké helaas. Ze waren ook zaken vergeten. Maar het eten is prima. Dus misschien duidelijke afspraken maken van tevoren.

It's totally fine and not expensive. I recommend spinach pizza!

Every week I give a challenge to Olga or Marhawi to make a pizza that is not on the menu. Owner Alberto has to laugh about it. Never disappointed. I think it's great!

Ordered pizzas via Thuisbezorgd.nl and selected "pick up". So payment had been made, but nothing was ready. We shouldn't have ordered via Thuisbezorgd according to the owner who had an apron with Thuisbezorgd.nl on it! We got a big mouth and no pizzas! The next day we thought we could talk it out but we still got the same big mouth. After complaining, we only received our money back from Thuisbezorgd.nl after a week.

Very nice dining opportunity!! Lovely people who work there with all their heart and soul!! Very tasty food, REALLY Italian as it should be! a few hairs later, the food is still great! but you really have to take the time, with us the order would have ended up in the trash!!! we ask where our pizzas are and they say your order has ended up in the trash!! sorry but whatever you order it takes ages!!!! maybe the waitress just works there but the owner should intervene, that doesn't happen!!!

We come here regularly. But it's deteriorating quite a bit. Everyone got food except us. When we asked, it turned out that the receipt with our order had been thrown away. If this continues, I'm afraid it will soon come to an end.

Excellent pizzas! Looking forward to its opening after dummer holidays!!!

Time-Travel to a traditional Italian style restaurant in a great location.

I've been coming here since I was a kid, the staff recognizes you after all these years. That feels like coming home!! Nostalgic feelings, I learned to fold napkins here as a little boy with the waitress, the food is always great 🤩😁

Delicious food but customer service awful. Inexperience staff. Asked for a table and was told they were busy. Really!!! When we eventually sat down at a dirty table, they tried to set it without cleaning it. Then, when they took our drink order, the table beside us was still waiting to be served. The two waitresses were glued together. Cheap labour, maybe. I had to go to the counter to pay the bill along with the lady at the table beside me. Please train your staff. Delicious food just a pity about the service.

Update April 2024: Pizza marinara with surimi sticks. That's just not possible! Point off. Update January 2024: This remains a pleasant neighborhood pizzeria offering good quality and portions at reasonable prices. We have been coming there regularly since 2011. And I am a critical consumer. So that says a lot. Update September 2021: The terrace is now a lot neater. Period. Older reviews: The number of sandwiches as an appetizer is becoming smaller and smaller. Sloppily set up terrace. Furthermore, tasty dishes, also available in half portions so you can combine.

The weekly menu is served without potatoes or fries. I think that is an incomplete menu, but the owner thinks that I should order this food disc separately. He spoke to me very bluntly about this matter and gave the impression of having too many customers, as evidenced by lame jokes when serving: "can you catch?". There are better pizzerias in Leiden. This is the last time I've been here.

Fantastisch Italiaans restaurant in de Merenwijk,we gaan een aantal keren per jaar eten met de familie,en verjaardagen.Heerlijke pizza,pasta s en vleesgerechten,alles super vers gemaakt,mooi opgediend kortom een aanrader !

One of the best pizzerias in Leiden. The pizza elegant here is my absolute favorite! By the way, it's better to pick up here, because the restaurant lacks atmosphere if you ask me.. 😚

Was too early to pick up (my mistake..!) Was offered a glass of wine while waiting...(it's the little things that matter🎶🎶🎶)… food was excellent!

It's a really great place to pick up pizzas. Pizzas are very tasty. However, I have now had a carni twice where the topping was very mediocre. And upon delivery the sandwiches were wet and no longer edible. Hopefully it is temporary and soon the old and familiar 5 stars will return!

hele lekkere italiaan in leiden. Authentieke smaak, heerlijke gerechten. We hebben van alles wat kunnen nemen omdat er van alles halve porties waren. Smaakvol.. ik kan niet meer zeggen dan ga langs!!!! Carbonara lekker en de lombata di vitello is mijn favoriet

We verkeerden weer even in italiaanse sferen. Enkele traditionele voorgerechten besteld. Vooral de 'crespelle' was weer heerlijk. Uiterst snelle bezorging.

Daarnet weer eens bij Bella Donna gegeten, zoals altijd lekker eten. Leuke en gezellige locatie midden in de woonwijk. De bediening aan tafel was aardig, maar geen één van de zes jonge medewerkers achter de balie, vond het nodig om ons bij binnenkomst een goede avond te wensen. Dit is een minpuntje van de avond en geen fijn welkomen!

I often visit my friend close who lives close to the Bella Donna restaurant . I am always delighted to go to the Bella Donna for either a take out of sit-down . The food is consistently very tasty and authentic . I'm an onion soup lover so would recommend this if you are too . I have tried and tasted many of the the dises and all were excellent . The staff are super friendly & professional and polite . I would highly recommend thsi restaurant & look forward to my next visit

A nice little Italian restaurant that serves some real good pizzas, good desserts and some nice beverages. The menu suggests they also have pasta dishes and such, but personally I am a pizza person, so never tried the other dishes. The people working there are always friendly and the service is impeccable. Prices are fairly cheap, but they also have days with half price pizza 🍕

Voortreffelijk. Echte Italiaanse maaltijden en pizza. Veel beter dan de massa zoals domino's, New york pizza enz enz. Op 3 apr. Weer geweest. Was deze keer een stuk minder. Alles was het net net. Jammer. Ze kunnen het wel.

Ik kijk er naar uit als ik een keer in de zoveel tijd zin in echte Italiaans eten heb om bij bella donna wat te eten te halen. Ik verheug me op de heerlijke camaleones of een simpele salami pizza. Heerlijk eten!

Prima pizza, op tijd klaar en vriendelijk geholpen ook al kwam ik afhalen. Al tijd op het oog. Vergat altijd de afhaal pizza aanbieding.... Jij ook? Nu niet meer 😉.

Heerlijk eten en de optie om een halve portie te bestellen. Als kleine eter vind ik dat heel fijn.

Eten was erg goed. Bediening vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Knus en gezellig restaurant. Wij gaan zeker weer hier eten.

Gewoon een hele goede pizzeria, wij wonen in de buurt en halen er dus al jaren af en de pizza's zijn echt altijd lekker. Mijn favorieten zijn zoals je op de foto kan zien de spinazie pizza en de elegante (zonder bresaola om het vegetarisch te maken).

Gezellig restaurant waar je heerlijk Italiaans kunt eten voor een schappelijke prijs.

Heerlijke pizza's voor een schappelijke prijs. Ik kom hier al jaren en elke keer is het eten lekker!

Van buien ziet het er niet echt gezellig uit maar als je binnenkomt is het gezellig en kneuterig. Het eten is erg lekker en goed betaalbaar. Met z'n tweetjes voor nog geen 45 euro gegeten.

Klein maar fijn. Van binnen gezelliger dan je van buiten zou verwachten. Vriendelijk personeel, lekker eten, vlotte bediening.
