I was disappointed to find that, despite being a paying customer dining at the restaurant, I was still charged €1 to use the washroom. It feels rather cheap for an establishment that should be welcoming its paying customers.

We had a wonderful evening at City Hall! All the food tasted delicious and the service was top-notch too. We were seated quite far back, but were kept a close eye on. Another big plus: we had a pregnant woman at our table, but they even have Aperol and Limoncello Spritz 0.0!

Very good and a very nice atmosphere. The waitress was lovely and happily replaced what I wasn't happy with, immediately finding a solution!

Friendly service, but the focaccia with grilled vegetables was tough and sparsely topped with vegetables that tasted sour rather than smoky grilled. The whole thing was swimming in olive oil. Not exactly the healthy lunch with lots of vegetables we had in mind!

The food is very tasty! However, the service is very poor… we waited half an hour to order, even though we waved multiple times. Then we waited another half hour for the food, so we sat in the restaurant for an hour without eating. It was impossible to make contact with the waiter, even though it wasn't unusually busy.

Super rude waiter. Some people should not be in customer service like this blonde lady. Some people need more humanity when speaking to customers. Don’t come with your family and especially not your pets. Entitled employees, only the manager was nice. The other waiter ruined my experience and I will not come back again.

Nice in Leiden after boating. Break.😄 Food was good.

Cozy spot, had a delicious charcuterie board after we took a walk through the city during the Rembrandt Days.

The food was delicious. Nice atmosphere, and the food and drinks arrived reasonably on time considering how busy it is. Great for eating dinner.

I was here for the second time today. The location is great! Right in the bustling city center, the people are friendly, but the food isn't that special. The pizzas are mediocre. The crust has some burnt spots while the base is sometimes still soft, the pastas are fairly basic, and therefore the price is just a bit too high for the quality in my opinion.

It was a fine place. The menu had very little choice and the food was tasteless. Clearly a new owner who thinks they can make quick money. If I had looked more closely at the empty terrace, I probably would have thought to myself, "What happened here?" Fewer seats and not even half full, whereas the terrace was large and always full under the previous owner. Never again for me.

I don't often write reviews, but what a fantastic place! Good and fast service, truly delicious food including fantastic pizzas, good value for money, incredibly atmospheric ambiance, and a wide selection of delicious drinks. Highly recommended! I’ll be back ;-)

Still great food and service, but unfortunately not as consistently good as it always was. Additionally, there is less attention to presentation, and the staple classics have disappeared from the menu. Perhaps it is also a matter of taste, but the new Neapolitan pizzas are not crispy; you have to acquire a taste for them.

Service is really attentive and the servers are really friendly. The cocktails were super nice and they have a nice drinks menu. The carbonara was not my taste, as it was quite cheesy, runny and salty, like the average carbonara you find in the netherlands, but my partner and his friend enjoyed their pizza's a lot so will definitely come back to try those. Atmosphere is lovely so definitely will return to try some more of the menu

Yesterday, Saturday afternoon at five o'clock, we were able to enjoy a lovely dinner on your terrace with six people. Unfortunately, I am receiving the reactions from my guests today, whom we had invited to celebrate a party. I would have preferred to hear their comments about the food immediately afterwards, so I could have discussed this with the manager for the evening. Of the 6 guests, 4 were not pleased with their main courses. For 2 guests, the main course (Pasta Carbonara / Salmone al forno) was far too salty. (Something I also regularly encounter in other reviews.) Furthermore: The Linguine allo scoglio was tasteless. Relatively small portions and hardly any vegetables on the plate. As a result, the price-quality ratio is out of balance. Long pauses between courses during which the wait staff regularly asked if we wanted to order more drinks. Fortunately, we had a pleasant evening together thanks to the beautiful location. We will certainly come back again for a drink on the terrace.

After the delicious starter, we had to wait well over half an hour for a pizza that was more crunch than flavor and as burnt as I could make myself at home. It was great that the staff was unapproachable. Skip the dessert. I want out of here.

It started well. Ordered some appetizers, a bottle of wine to go with it was fine. Disc portion sizes were a bit meager; the mussels and vongole: six mussels and three vongole. There was no bread included. The bread we ordered with spread consisted of six thin slices of stale toasted bread... rock hard. Had nothing to do with focaccia. After this round, we ordered two more dishes... and despite asking multiple times, they never arrived. After waiting for over an hour, they were supposed to be arriving soon... but by then we really wanted to leave. So, with only some appetizers left, we headed back home disappointed. A shame, we had been looking forward to a night out with our 8-year-old daughter. Next time, we certainly won't be choosing Cityhall.

The food is okay, not outstanding but certainly not bad either. Service is generally friendly and efficient.

The interior was elaborate and stylish. The food was amazing - we ordered sweet pizza and another one “4 cheeses”, 0% blonde beer and desserts. I highly recommend all of these. Many thanks to our sweet waitress on the second floor, your service was outstanding. We will definitely come back in summer to enjoy brunch on the terrace.

We had dinner here with 9 girls during a dinner show with music, which is a really fun concept. I have been to other dinner shows before and they are often a bit more professional, but here they really do their best and make it a fun evening. The show itself was enjoyable and one of the singers (a tall woman with brown hair) was very engaging with the audience, which made it extra interactive. The starter was also really nice, with lots of small bites to share. The main course was fine, but unfortunately not very warm anymore. The dessert, on the other hand, was really delicious! Unfortunately, we didn't like the scroppino. It wasn't cold, whereas normally it is supposed to contain lemon sorbet, and it was mostly foam. That was a shame. At the end of the evening, there was a DJ who really topped it off. The atmosphere was great, the dance floor was completely full, and we really had a very fun evening. If they do the dinner show again in the future with a different kind of music and perhaps some different appetizers, we would definitely come back again. It is something different from the norm and a very enjoyable evening, and it’s close to home too. All in all, a successful evening and certainly fun to experience.

Very good place. Came here at 4 pm with 5 people. Served us pizza and lunch. Very polite and nice waiter, very tasty food. Gnocchi and mushroom soup were extra special and pizza was fresh and delicious. We are picky eaters sometimes but this place was a great choice! 20 euros pp with plenty of food and drinks

We went here a few times already. It’s a nice cozy place in the center. Food is pretty good and service is quite fast. They also have high chair for toddlers. It’s quite spacious for typical restaurants so there was a spot where we can park the stroller. 4 out of 5

Had good service tonight and a delicious meal. Even the Pizza Diavola was really tasty. My girlfriend had a pasta with pecorino and it was very crunchy.

We ended up going here because of the Leidse Restaurantweek. I usually don’t opt for going to an Italian restaurant myself, so it was a fun change of pace to be placed there. We were pleasantly surprised and very happy with our placement! It’s a very neat restaurant and the waiters are very polite and friendly. The vibe is nothing special, but it’s well done to the point something special isn’t necessarily needed. We can also only imagine how nice it is to sit outside in the summer! The food was absolutely delicious, amazing even! It was very nice that it wasn’t only your usual and typical Italian dishes and pasta’s/pizzas, but more on the unique side. Great divers menu. I would definitely dine here again!

I always assumed City Hall in Leiden was mainly for passports, parking fines, and existential paperwork (Just kidding ofcourse, i always knew it was a restaurant)… but apparently you can also apply for Rigatoni happiness. We visited on a Thursday night and were seated in a romantic window spot with a candle — which is impressive, because most government buildings make you feel like you’re waiting for a number to be called and your soul to expire. Instead, I felt like my marriage was being renewed by carbohydrates. I ordered the antipasti platter, followed by the rigatoni, and finished with tiramisu. Important legal finding: the tiramisu should probably require a permit because it’s dangerously good. I briefly considered declaring it as my primary residence. To drink: a very nice blond Italian beer, smooth enough that I nearly forgot to complain about taxes for an entire hour. Staff were friendly, efficient, and shockingly fast for a place that once was issueing documents in triplicate. Menu is €32,50 per person, which is less than renewing a passport and far more satisfying. Verdict: Went in expecting bureaucracy, left emotionally registered to pasta. Would absolutely attend another “administrative appointment” with my wife again.

One of our favorite restaurants! I have to say, though, that the menu has become more limited than it used to be, and the staff, always extremely friendly and knowledgeable, seemed a bit disinterested and under-trained last time. I hope the quality doesn't drop.

After a 33-minute wait, we finally got the orange juice and hot chocolate milk. The juice was in a mini glass, and the chocolate milk was lukewarm to cold. I pointed this out, and the response was, "Wasn't it tasty?" And just had to pay the full price of €10.

Great staff, friendly. Unfortunately, there's no choice if you're a plant-based diet. Only pasta with (quite spicy) arrabiata sauce and a few mini asparagus pieces, or a pizza without cheese. Not recommended if you're a plant-based diet.

We used to have the most delicious pizzas here, ones so big they couldn't fit on your plate. Now you get a mini pizza that's 50% crust?! And it's nowhere near as good. Who thinks this is a good idea?? Still hungry after eating. Please bring back the old pizzas!!

Such a shame! Tonight we had the pizza we always came for because it was the best in Leiden. What a shame! We ordered Pizza Quattro Formaggi and, for the first time in years, received a super soft pizza with undercooked dough and overbaked (burned). After reporting it to the staff (very nice, by the way), who passed it on to the chef, we were told that they'd been making Neapolitan pizza for a month, which is how it should be. What nonsense! If you're looking for a pizza with raw ravioli and tomato sauce, come here. But I left the table hungry and unhappy. All the waiters were friendly and helpful. We expect the same level of deliciousness from the food.

Very good Italian restaurant. Delicious dishes, good pizzas. Six of us had a wonderful, relaxed meal here.

We had dinner tonight for two. The starter was delicious, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was good. My main course, braised beef shank, was fine, but way too salty. My girlfriend's main course was pasta with truffle. It was really too salty and not tasty. They made new pasta at our request. This pasta was also very salty and was not eaten. The waitress mentioned that several people had complained. When we paid, we expected a little more understanding. Unfortunately, there was no compensation. All in all, a good atmosphere, mediocre service, and not a good meal. Definitely not worth €114. €6.60 for a bottle of water with dinner is also quite excessive.

The coffee and hot chocolate weren't quite cold yet, but they weren't exactly ideal for warming up. We ordered our food at the same time, but one of us got it after 20 minutes, while another had to wait 40 minutes. Then all we heard was, "It was busy and we weren't staffed enough."

The food tasted fine. However, the portions were still too small. We had to eat something at home because we were still hungry, even though we paid around €140 for two people. The small portions also make the price relatively high. The service was mediocre. We weren't invited; we had to ask for everything ourselves. It's a shame, because this place really has potential! Great place! A well-organized, clear menu with something for everyone. The bistecca and swordfish were delicious! The service is efficient, friendly, and helpful. The atmosphere is pleasant! We went there on a random Sunday afternoon for a quick lunch because we had to pick up a child. While the food was truly excellent, the service loses out. Friendly, sure, but everything just takes a long time.

Didn't have any food so unable to speak to that. Drinks were fine. Service was mediocre. Nachos bowl took 40 mins to serve, despite the fact that there only 4 tables needed serving (it was Tuesday night). For some reason we were told that the whole terrace was uanavalbie, despite nice weather. Location is the strong suit of the place.

Love this place! Amazing food and a great atmosphere. I highly recommend it if you have time to spend an afternoon just chatting and enjoying good food and wine. My fiancé and I enjoy this place so much!

The pizza itself was fine, though the crust was a bit black. My son's pasta was gone in three bites 😂. The non-alcoholic Spritz was more ice than liquor, making it taste like water. Such a shame! The music was very loud. It's a good thing the kitchen was open late!

Delicious pizza on a nice tertas!

The food was just okay. We had all our food from order 5, and order 6 had to wait so long that we had to ask for it. Oh yeah, it's coming (forgot it!), and they didn't greet us with an apology or anything. The menu wasn't very extensive. The prices are good.

The dishes are delicious, and I commend them for that, but the portions are too small. We had to order some more because we were still hungry after our first main courses. It's also a nice, cozy place. Because it's so busy, the staff isn't easy to reach, but they do come around eventually. The restaurant's decor is very chic, but the restrooms could be a bit cleaner. The price-to-portion ratio could be better, and it's definitely worth eating there!

It's not what it used to be. Pizza dough is pre-made from the freezer, not freshly made, and the limoncello cake comes straight from the Sligro freezer. It's a real shame; we used to love coming here.

Please do yourself a favor and save your time & money to come here! We only spent one day in Leiden and I wished we would have chosen another spot for dinner as there seem to be lots of lovely restaurants in Leiden… This place has a convenient location right in the city center but that’s where it ends with positive things to say about this restaurant. We were one of the first guests for dinner but had to wait close to an hour for our Pasta dishes. The food itself was super mediocre, lacked in taste and was not worth the price. The seafood linguine was 24 EUR and had 3 mussels on top, which felt like a complete rip-off. If you feel like Italian food, better try other smaller (and more genuine) Italian restaurants in the city instead.

Het duurde erg lang voor we bediend werden, hoewel het niet druk was. We hadden sterk de indruk dat we werden genegeerd door het personeel. Toen we uiteindelijk werden bediend was het personeel niet vriendelijk.
