Very bad food, I understand why hey comes from Aviv, staff behaves very badly and restauarant is very cramped, my food was served cold.

For the first time we eat here. What a nice surprise… Great food and really a price -cost relation. We can really recommend this restaurant!

Lots of choice in delicious vegan dishes. Rarely have we had such delicious food. Even a seemingly simple salad was super tasty. Recommended! Update July 2024: unfortunately permanently closed...

Ate here a few months ago, it was really tasty and authentic Israeli food. We got 4-5 dishes to share with 3 of us, which is a decent amount, haha. Also very happy they have Alexander beer! 🤩 We had tried to go there the evening before, but the place was already closed, probably due to the current climate they have to operate in. I usually never write reviews, but after seeing the sheer level of politically motivated negativity and hate they have to contend with, especially in their recent reviews, I changed my mind. I really wish you guys all the best to weather these trying times. I certainly plan to come pay you a visit again during my next stay in Amsterdam. PS: To all those ignoramusses out there insisting that Israeli food is somehow culturally appropriated… smh. Jews lived in the Middle East for millennia and they certainly didn’t eat baked beans on toast. So yes, many dishes would naturally be similar or shared with other cultures in the region.

Found a hair in my food, it was also really greasy and gave me stomach cramps, wouldn’t recommend. Most food on the menu is Arab, couldn’t find any Israeli food

I had an amazing dinner here last December. The Shawarma plate was perfect. The place is low key cozy and the two young ladies working that night were very kind and hospitable. Highly recommend

Cultural appropriation of numerous dishes that are Arab and NOT Israeli. The existence of this restaurant is an insult in itself and the owners should be ashamed of themselves

The old Ben Cohen where we used to end up for a sandwich after going out, what? SANDWICH !! Now street food and also shawarma, the service was not very attentive the last time, which was a shame, but luckily the food didn't taste any less.

This restaurant is fantastic. It has the best hummus and all the food was scrumptious. Israeli food is so delicious. I want to visit this restaurant again. Fresh pita bread… I felt that Tel it to the Vive Spirit.

Made a reservation for the (Wednesday) evening, but on arrival the place was closed

The food is super tasty and it all looks good. Furthermore, the place could be modernized from time to time, but that would be a bit annoying.

I ordered a schnitzel for 11 euros without a supplement separately, I also ordered fried potatoes instead of chips, it doesn't feel like a schnitzel and a very small amount for the price, and the worst of all there is no ketchup for the schnitzel

I wanted to discover Israeli cuisine, but when I saw the menu I was shocked, they serve North African shaksouka, Pal£stino-Syrian hummus shoawarma and babaghanoush... can you stop stealing for once??????

These people are disconnected from reality, go along with the yuppies and hipsters and completely forget that they became so big because of the real Amsterdammers who always came to eat there! 14 euros for a shawarma? Did I miss the nuggets? Nice to Zion, they have remained normal and normal! Give my share to Fikkie ooh no to Boudewijn and Fleur!

Food was amazing, really loved it. The service was very disappointing, not attentive or looking at all. Had to wait a long time to place our order, drink order was forgotten since the staff was doing shots with their friends at the bar (who were also disrupting the atmosphere). The plates were also not cleared, neither ours nor around us despite us being basically alone in the restaurant. Overall we love the food but it’s such a shame the bad service really takes away from that and overshadows the whole experience.

Super cool restaurant with delicious food. The menu has several high-quality and tasty Middle East food options. Amazing for vegans and vegetarians. Cauliflower with tahini was delicious. Hummus was served with some seads and tahini sauce on top. It was perfect. Cozy and warm atmosphere,nicely decorated with street art and plants. The service was amazing, too. Rebecca was kind and patient. There were tables available on Saturday night, but it is better to book in advance.

Always delicious food, it's just a pity that there are many anti-Semites who suddenly give 1 star in a week, disgusting people never eaten and putting hard-working businesses down in such a way is too nauseating.

The hummus and falafel were good and there's a good vibe to the place. Both were decent portions.

Street food restaurant from Tel Aviv to Amsterdam. 7 minutes by tram from the central station. The dishes are good but a little greasy for some. Special mention for the grilled feta. The service is pleasant. The prices are correct.

Very friendly staff that treated us very well. Did not feel very touristy which was very nice considering what city it is in. Also compared to everything I have said so far, the food was on a whole another level. Extremely delicious.

Lovely Israeli bistro with delicious cuisine ranging from shakshuka, hummus and falafel to shawarma. All very authentic and tasty. Pleasant staff, place is very compact so the distance to the neighbouring table might be about 20cm ;-).

We had 4 items which was just more than what we needed but the food was light and we did not leave like we had to much (I did) Tasty and filling.

My favourite place to eat in Amsterdam. Oh lord that roasted cauliflower… Everything on the menu is worth trying, what you can’t finish you take home. I never leave this place feeling good because I eat so much I am nauseaous the whole night. And it’s so worth it. Oh and as a cherry on the top the people there are really super friendly and they have really great music playing in the background and they are so cheap for Ama centre…. Ben cohen you have my heart, my soul and my stomach.

Hit the mark on all counts. Shared three plates between the two of us -- hummus, baked feta, and sweet potato -- and both the size and execution of the meal was perfect! The top it off, the music playing was excellent. Would definitely come again.

One of my favorite restaurants in the city! Great Israeli food and some really tasty vegetarian options. I’ve been twice and tried almost everything on the menu, and it’s all delicious- but you have to get the shakshuka with feta, it’s the best!! Highly recommend

Was heerlijk en aardige bediening. Alleen duurde het erg lang voor we eten kregen en kregen mensen die later binnen kwamen eerder eten. Verder heel erg prima.

3.5*** Dined on a Thursday rainy night and it was packed. Reservations are a must! Food: Pork shawarma - was good not great. A good protein option as there aren’t many Shakshuka - eggs were super over cooked - a little disappointed Famous Israel cauliflower - probably my fav of the night. Perfected roasted and loved the tahini The pita that came with the dishes were kind of cold and dry to me Service was good and they actually checked in on us. Good vibes and decent food. They have local beer from Israel as well.

This place is awesome, delicious food, refreshing cocktails and friendly service. Highly recommend.

The pork shawarma was awful. It used the same type of “generic pork shawarma” meat you find in a supermarket. Dishes are supposedly to share, but they come by default with a single pita. So unless you’re going to lick half of the hummus bowl, you’ll need to order extra pitas (2.5 euros each). The pitas were tasty though.

Ben Cohen is one of my comfort restaurants in Amsterdam. The dishes are delicious even tho they reduced a bit the portions lately. Great vegan options, and the service is always super fast and attentive.

I liked the atmosphere and definitely the food. Couldn't tell you if it's actual Tel Aviv street food, but it was delicious! Service was slower than it should have been, especially since the place was almost empty and we were only a table of four. Try it out if you're not in too much of a hurry.

Amazing Israeli Food! The Cohen Salad with tomatoes and nuts is amazing! The cauliflower and the eggplant are two more highlights. The service is super kind and welcoming as well, it just a bit slow with the food. We had to wait a bit which was unfortunate. Other than that - fantastic food and will surely come back!

Had a quick bite. Ordered 2 vegetarian dishes, eggplant and labneh, and it was excellent. I appreciated the quick and friendly services, too.

Heerlijke pita's en gegrilde aubergine. Toch waande ik me vooral in Tel Aviv wat betreft de prijzen. 5 euro voor een cola, het is hier toch niet de Rothschild Boulevard?
