In short: don't do it. Unfriendly, incompetent and hasty staff. The food was far below par and the reasonable decor could not turn the tide.

We had a lovely walk on the beach with a friend, got some fresh air and settled down at the Bigbell. A tent we used to visit often. Mmmmm something really needs to be done with the restaurants on the boulevard. It really is far-reaching glory. A real shame, the food was excellent, the service was also excellent, unfortunately in English, but the rest really stood still in time!!! The whole of Scheveningen, the boulevard, the tents, etc... have no atmosphere. Where has this gone......our old Scheveningen?

Delicious coffee and a tasty pastry to relax in the afternoon. The staff is also friendly and caring. The plus point is that in colder weather the heaters were on to warm up in the seating area.

great beach bar. tasty snacks good music that gets the audience on the dance floor. One of the few that has traditional Dutch conviviality and is open even later and also has the kitchen open for snacks... so conviviality everywhere

A more recent menu on the website would have prevented the first disappointment. The price difference with the menu on your website and in the restaurant itself is so great that I can imagine that guests are leaving. As a starter we ordered a carpaccio, which was so cold (including the plate) that it is suspected that it either came from the freezer or had been in a refrigerator for quite some time. The tournedos (37 euros) was also fried until rare, while they were explicitly asked to bake it medium/well done. By the way, a very friendly waiter/service who asks about your needs at the right times!

Overpriced tourist trap. Food of poor quality and a disgrace for the high price.

This restaurant is located on the beach boulevard in Scheveningen. Various types of meals, snacks and drinks. While you are consuming your food, you can enjoy your order in the warm air. Beautiful view all day. Suitable place for dining. Friendly staff.

This Grand Café offers excellent service and delicious cocktails. The tower cocktails are highly recommended, and the friendly staff immediately makes you feel welcome.

Enjoy drinks and snacks! Very on the expensive side. Eur 18 for a drink On Saturday there was a super nice band playing of great class. We had a bottle of wine on the table and a waiter always came to fill the wine glasses when the glasses were empty. We asked why she did this because we can do it ourselves!! She said in English that they are trained to refill as quickly as possible! Well, to be honest, I have never heard of this: that they take our bottle of wine that is in a cooler on our table, even though the glasses were not even empty and then refill the glasses. This is very strange.

A very nice restaurant right on the beach, between the spa hotel and the pier. Fireplaces in the winter garden add coziness. The waiter was very friendly but unfortunately not often there or visible, which wasn't that bad. What was much more unpleasant was that we waited quite a long time for our food... two drinks (water and hot chocolate, which was very tasty). And yes the food is ok, it was a real shame that the nacho chips were very, very tasty and the rest was quite tasteless. We had the Mexican and Bigbell Burger.

Everything was nice, location good, service good, but unfortunately the food wasn't tasty. We both had different citizens and were very disappointed. The food tasted “old”.

Food was okay, but if you wanted extra fries with the mussels, for example, it was too expensive for what you got. The mussels were 6/10 if I have to be generous. Service looked arrogant when we ordered more fries when we saw that the potato garnish was nothing when we received our dishes. Sad experience.

Delicious, wonderful sea view, always clean, the toilet is very clean, and the restaurant is very clean. I visited this place more than once, and the cleaning staff are very wonderful. Thank you to every contributor to this wonderful restaurant.

Eating took a while. But service was great and the food was tasty.

Food was very tasty. I had schnitzel with pepper sauce and cheesecake for dessert. My father in law had the fish. He wasn't entirely enthusiastic about it. All the waiters we had contact with were super friendly, unfortunately we didn't have a permanent waiter. All in all a great evening.

Nice place, in a beautiful location. We expected good food. Very disappointed, frozen, processed products. Just any fast food, not a restaurant! I advise against eating... I hope it won't end with a stomach ache. The bill is extremely high for such a standard.

Nice place by the beach. If nacho's straight out the box get a 1, than this can't get a higher number than 2. Only some plain nachos with a little bit of melted cheese and 4 or 5 slices of spring union and some red sauce. A dish served with 0 love. No avocado dip, no creme Fraiche. Definately the simplest version of a nachos I have had in at least 10 years

Suitable place to have something to eat before going to the theater. Steak was perfectly cooked, unfortunately the pork tenderloin had broken through too much and there was little left. Fries could be ordered additionally, which was a large portion. Unfortunately we didn't have time for a starter or dessert. The waitress has to do most of the serving alone.

Delicious food, in the evening there was a live band. Great atmosphere, good band and the service was just as cheerful the next morning as the night before. Compliments!

We went there for a drink in the evening when there was live music. Super fun.

The food photos look delicious, but the reality is very different! ! I ordered a medium rare steak and it came out well done! ! ! ! And very dry and hard. Every meal ordered by my friend who was traveling with me was also very unsatisfactory. The onions in the onion soup were not caramelized. Instead, they just cut the onions into small slices and added a little chicken soup to make it called onion soup... Overall, the food quality is really bad. This is the worst meal I have ever had in the Netherlands!

It was cozy at the old bigbell, food was good, clean and friendly staff. Have been back a few times since the takeover. The food is not good, chicken satay that is just/and some parts are not cooked. The floor is full of rubbish, far too few staff, and those who work there spend more time at the bar than they work. there is no atmosphere or atmosphere It is not so quiet for nothing Let's look further next time

The patties on the burger taste like the cheapest frozen food and the whole thing costs 25 euros...

The waitress checked in with us with a nice small talk and a smile 😃. She was very polite and happy. The food was very good. We took a steak and a double burger. Will definitely recommend and go back when I am in the neighborhood.

Sit and wait ten minutes until someone even agrees to serve us. There isn't much going on on a Sunday morning. And then you can't order a single croissant but have to choose the buffet. Absolute zero number.

Unfortunately had a bad experience with this restaurant. We have been coming here for years with great pleasure, unfortunately today was different. Raw chicken and a whole red hamburger. This was not requested either. We had a free drink from I'm guessing the owner. But this could certainly have ended very differently. You always have to be careful, especially with chicken.

The food tastes good and the price is reasonable.

Nice eatery on the boulevard of Scheveningen, here you can get North Sea sole compared to other eateries, otherwise quite standard.

Location is great and looks neat. We ordered croquettes/Hague sandwich; croquettes were lukewarm (as if they were placed under a hot plate). Staff is friendly, but you will only be addressed in English here.

Disappointment. Had to wait a long time for the menu and the food. Ordered chicken salad. It really made me laugh...cucumber, onions and some lettuce...chef needs to be a bit more creative...when I saw it I wasn't really looking forward to it. Children ordered fish fingers. It was clearly from the freezer. I don't think it's worth the price.

Tried to eat here today. After we got the drinks it took more than half an hour before we got the bread. Then we waited over an hour for the main course that never came. After 45 minutes we asked when it was coming. It would take another 10 minutes according to the waiter. After 20 minutes I asked again and it turned out that it would take another fifteen minutes. We got off. We only had to pay for the drinks, so they resolved that nicely. The waiter could not be faulted, he was friendly and understanding. The kitchen didn't seem to be able to handle it.

Delicious food! Tomato soup is the best I've ever eaten! Pride! The fish is also delicious, the fries are super baked, the nuggets are also delicious. The coffees are really very good, and everything is served exceptionally well. First class service! Very nice! We will come back for sure!

We had breakfast on Sunday. Our group was seated next to the buffet which was great. It was not full with people like other restaurants. There was enough variety. Great location directly at the beach

After renovation...became a beautiful place...beautiful decoration...beautiful color...I like to come with a large group of ladies...dancing...live music...delicious mussels ....

We were here for dinner. The fish and chips were basically okay. The fish was actually quite good. The portion was okay overall, except for the “salad”. Could also have been called a garnish. A little dressing probably wouldn't have hurt either. I spoke to the famer who brought us to the table in English, but was still given a Dutch menu. Don't be dramatic, I can ask someone else, but I find that inattentive. Everything else was okay, maybe a little too trying. As a total, 3 1/2 stars would be more appropriate. But I prefer to round up because the service was really okay. Conclusion: you can do it, but you don't have to.

Had a delicious meal here on a beautiful Sunday evening. The terrace gives a nice beach feeling and even has heated cushions. The food arrived quickly and it was delicious. Rarely have I seen such friendly staff at a restaurant! Real class.

A cozy restaurant with extensive terraces with live music in the evening. We had lunch, dinner and relaxed drinks on the terrace. A small problem is that sometimes an employee speaks to you in Dutch and another in English. We were there for four days and enjoyed it

Everything was fine until we ordered two lemonades. They just brought us a syrup with sugar and water. It was looking like everything in else except lemonade. But schinitzel was good. Also sangria was not very well.. also we ordered entrecote but service personel did not ask how to cook it. It was soo bloody when eating..

Unfortunately the food isn't that good. Both meals tasted old. There were no side dishes with the ribs, you had to book them separately. Price/performance is not right here at all.

We were promised to watch a euro game live and it was not broadcast ( we did ask during the day and it was advertised outside " ALL games" Paying overpriced and not very good quality food after being tricked is really not ok!

Very bad food. I have never heard of a breaded sirloin steak and it is on the menu as a regular sirloin steak for quite a price. In addition, overcooked and therefore not okay. Instead, a fried schnitzel... yakkkkkk. Cold fries with the satay. You had to use a plastic (!!) spoon to make the bread with herb butter "smear". Not possible with rock hard butter. In short, I would never eat here again!

The decor has been modernized, but the food and service are still top notch! Remains our favorite in Scheveningen.

Service was friendly and very nice. The food was average. The ambience is quite nice but unfortunately there are a few birds in the dining area, something that needs to be addressed. Price was a bit high.

We have been here several times for breakfast. Fine in itself. Was busy now, probably because it was Father's Day. Next to us 3 English ladies with their dog! That will be fine, but 1: was the dog running around loose? 2: just sat on the couch next to where we were eating. 3: to make matters worse, one of the ladies let the dog eat from the table??? Staff see it happen and say nothing? Really nasty sorry. (we also have a dog ourselves, but this is going a bit far). Furthermore, we had a guest on the other side of the table, which was funny.

Just good food nice atmosphere. The live music is really to taste... sometimes it's like they're tearing apart a cat, other times it's really good. Parking remains a problem, but there is often still room in the parking garage.

When we are in Scheveningen, we always go to the BigBell. The reason is that the atmosphere is pleasant. And there are usually nice artists performing.

The restaurant should change its name to "Big Bill"! We ordered for around 100 euros and were debited 1000 euros!!! No response to our inquiries! It's a shame, we thought it was just an oversight but we now suspect it was fraud. Have now filed a police report.

The service was great! Ashraf in particular was really fantastic, so super hospitable. If I were you I would eat/drink here.
