We ate there this evening, just the two of us. The food arrived very quickly and was really delicious. The drinks were a bit overpriced, but all in all we were very satisfied and can recommend this restaurant.

Crap service sat there for 10 minutes waiter had seen me (and acknowledged me sitting down). Completely ignored me and started serving other tables that came in after me… I walked out! PS it wasn’t busy!

The dinner was delicious, but the drinks were quite expensive (as is typical everywhere). The good reviews basically only apply to the food. The service is very inconsistent and depends on who serves you. You usually have to wait a long time before you can order, and no one asks if you'd like a second drink. What's strangely ignored by the staff is the heavy soiling of all the upholstery with bird droppings, sometimes even fresh. Furthermore, no one seems to think to wipe down cleared tables before new guests sit down. You can also rent sun loungers and a parasol for the whole day on the beach. This costs at least €40, which we found quite outrageous. However, there are hardly any alternatives on the beach if you don't want to lie directly on the sand. The advantage is the distance from the pier, which is quite busy and doesn't exactly invite you to linger.

Extremely poor food quality, but fair waiter"The €18 Laab salad here is a total rip-off regarding food quality. Instead of proper ground meat, it was filled with cheap, chewy, and gristly meat that felt like low-grade stew meat (Suppenfleisch). It was full of tough flax and completely inedible pieces. I left the bad parts on a napkin and complained. To be fair, the waiter was very nice and understanding. He agreed it wasn't his personal fault, and we settled on paying €9 instead of the full €18 because I was starving and ate what I could. Props to the service staff, but the kitchen needs to drastically improve its meat quality for these high prices.

Amazing place to get some food in the beach. Quite nice for an Asian dinner

Located right on the beach, this place offers sun loungers, covered seating areas, and an outdoor seating area. It's a great place to spend the day relaxing and soaking up the sun. The food is quite good, though the prices are typical for a beach. Overall, it's a good spot to unwind.

I can't recommend it. Everything is overpriced. We felt lied to about the price of the sun loungers and parasols on the beach – the couple next to us paid less than the four of us. We only had two loungers and one parasol, though. We were also told that a larger lounger with a parasol further ahead was already reserved. Later, we found out that it had been given to walk-ins (without a reservation). Very annoying.

Rubbish place, you're sitting on a terrace with a baby and the staff starts happily standing behind you smoking. Hats off to you, keep it up, never again like this, bye bye!

It was quiet on the beach today. Service friendly, had a delicious cappuccino and starter with just the two of us (not very hungry), and they immediately went to great lengths to accommodate one person being vegetarian and the other not. Super.

We ordered a chicken cashew dish and a spicy spare ribs dish. The chicken cashew came with a sweet and sour sauce, so you have to like that. The spare ribs tasted good, but there were only 3 (!) individual ribs on the plate. You did get rice and vegetables with it, but even so, it was too little. We made a comment to the staff, but they just stared blankly and I don't think they did anything about it. The service is friendly but not very attentive. Someone came to clear the table at two different times, but it didn't occur to him to ask if we wanted anything to drink. All in all, the food is tasty, but we won't be coming back here anytime soon.

Great place. Beautiful location just outside the hustle and bustle of Scheveningen with all its downsides. Super friendly staff, delicious food, and plenty of space to sit on the terrace. During the day, enough room for children to play and parents to relax. In the evening, delicious Asian food. For a fun and cozy event, you can contact Bandu Beach. They are happy to help you. I'm sold.

Had a delicious meal and good service

Quite possibly the worst food we’ve ever had. We all had different breakfasts and they were all equally bad. Something green that could have been avocado crept onto the bread (but didn’t taste like it), along with a fried egg that appeared to have been boiled. Service was equally as poor. The kids area was good though.

A huge selection of food, and it was delicious. We ate there twice during our vacation. Everything was great.

We were with a big group of 32 people, and had the thai buffet. The staff was really nice, and they helped us a lot (also flexible with time, which was nice). Everyone thought the thai buffet was really good! There was more than enough for the amount of people. Would really recommend for a bigger event.

Very relaxed atmosphere. Good food! (and be sure to order a slice of apple pie!) Friendly and attentive staff. We went with a group, you know. An organized cocktail workshop, volleyball, and a BBQ. Everything was arranged perfectly!

Beautiful location and decor. Super friendly staff who came to serve us almost immediately. It was drizzling and therefore very quiet, but the table that sat down next to us, for example, had to wait a very long time. Lots of choice regarding cocktails, but they were all very light despite the rather steep price.

Nice place with your children, there's a playground. Also without children of course. Cushions not very clean, end of May. It can be a problem. But for the moment, quite nice experience.

Delicious Thai inspired food with lots of veges (we ordered Sizzling beef, chicken saté and pad Thai) and our toddler loved the play area. One of the better restaurants on the beach!

We paid 44 euro and cant use the toilet. Because toilets are not included. And food is not good coffee is also bad.

A brief summary: We had to wait 20 minutes for the first contact with the service staff. This contact only came about after we repeatedly waved and called out. We had to wait 10 minutes for the drinks we ordered and a full 60 minutes for the food. The food was okay, nothing special. Unfortunately, as in almost all restaurants on the beach, the service was a complete disaster and the food/drinks were overpriced, which is to be expected. From our perspective, it's an "it's doable, but not a must-try" experience.

Extremely poor service. I work in hospitality and I genuinely struggle to understand how staff can be this disengaged. We waited over an hour for a simple €9 toast, despite the place not being busy. After asking a waitress to check, nothing happened. The order was only handled after a second follow-up, when my friend went inside herself — and the toast hadn’t even been started. The issue wasn’t just the wait, sometimes orders can get lost. The real problem was the complete lack of attention and follow-up on the table. After consuming a substantial amount, we asked for the bill and simply requested to split it in two (not exactly an unreasonable request). We were refused because the waitress was ‘too busy’. We didn’t come to ruin anyone’s day, but being treated like an inconvenience is simply not acceptable. This is not just slow service — it’s lack of organization, lack of care, and lack of basic professionalism. If splitting bills is not allowed, state it clearly. Otherwise, it’s part of the job — after all, we’re not working for free, are we? — just like taking orders, following up, and managing tables properly. Very disappointing experience. We won’t be coming back (you’re welcome), and we definitely won’t recommend this place to anyone.

Went here a month ago. It was great back then. Went back this week but left after just one drink. Unfriendly waitress and the atmosphere wasn't what we were used to anymore. It was a shame that the two previous owners weren't there. Asked for one of them and got a sarcastic remark. A pity, because their food was good. Fortunately, there are still beach clubs that have good food, friendly staff, and a good atmosphere, such as Twins.

I don't write reviews often, but the spareribs were truly shameless. 5 ribs with barely any meat on them, floating in a plate with ready-made sweet and sour sauce, pre-cut vegetables, and some rice on the side. Never again.

Would recommend any other beach restaurants nearby, I’ve been three times and food tasted microwaved, music was tasteless. I think they use the beach location as an excuse for low quality. Staff were uninterested in serving, just not a quality experience. Take your business elsewhere!!!

Worst service ever , food took more than an hour to come and when it came it was cold.

I normally avoid writing a negative review, but in this case, I couldn't avoid it. I had purchased a breakfast for three people through Social Deal (€5 per person), reserved the date online, and also indicated when ordering that I was using Social Deal. During breakfast, we also ordered two cups of tea and one cup of mint tea. However, Social Deal wasn't included in the bill. I ended up paying almost €50, essentially just for the tea. I then contacted Bandu Beach three times by phone and three times by email, but to no avail. Each time, I was promised: "We're working on it, and it will be refunded within three days." A week has now passed, and I still haven't received a refund. As soon as the overpaid amount has been credited to my account, I will remove this review.

We had a delicious meal and the service was great.

There are nice tables with a built-in fire pit, but unfortunately, some of them weren't working. It's beautifully located right on the beach, but the prices reflect that.

We ate here with five people. The food was fine, but nothing special. The portions were on the small side: the soup was sparse, and the main courses had almost no chicken or meat. Also, the restrooms weren't clean, and they were out of hand sanitizer. All in all, I wouldn't rush back, but it wasn't bad either.

Lovely location, terrible service. Female server acted like we ruined her day by being g there and wanting to order. Rude and obnoxious. Other server just ignored us when we sat down and asked for the menu. Poached eggs were hard. Ijsmijter eggs were good. We live nearby, snd there are plenty other restaurants on the same strip, that have far better service, and food. So we shall be going there next time.

With too many guests the kitchen cannot cope and you have to wait for a very long time.

I rarely write reviews, but my experience at this restaurant was disappointing enough that I feel it’s worth sharing. First, the service was painfully slow. We waited nearly 2 hours for our food. When the food finally arrived, it was lukewarm and tasted bland—definitely not worth the prices they’re charging. My dish was under-seasoned and overcooked, and the portion size was tiny compared to what was described on the menu. On top of that, the place didn’t feel clean. The table was sticky when we sat down, and the restroom was in bad shape—paper towels everywhere and an unpleasant smell. I really wanted to like this place, but between the poor service, subpar food, and lack of cleanliness, I can’t recommend it. There are far better options nearby.

Unfortunately, we were only asked once if we wanted to place an order. The plates were incredibly dirty. When the service lady was asked about it, she just said she didn't care. I've never experienced anything like it. The ambience, on the other hand, is very nice.

I always loved coming here. Main course portions are quite small, but the worst part is actually the staff. The service is incredibly poor and not friendly at all. (Except for the runners who are still motivated.) The elderly woman has made sure we won't be back. We'll just have to try another one of the 100 Thai restaurants in The Hague.

Delicious Thai food. We had the Massaman curry and the cashew chicken. The latter was a bit more subtly spiced, but the curry was very well-seasoned.

We ordered two orange juices and asked the waiter specifically if their juice is fresh to which she said yes. When served, we got two small juices that were yellow instead of orange and tasted very unpleasant, so much we did not end up drinking them. When addressing the waitress about this she told us that the juice had been sitting in a jar since that morning. (We ordered them around 20:00, 8pm) Either way she nor another colleague I addressed this to seemed to give a slightest care and got charged €10,20…

We had a great meal at Bandu. Kids can also have fun in the playground. It used to be Veronica beach bar, but Thai cuisine is still there 👌🏼. Thanks for the service and the great playlist in the background.

We spent almost whole day at the beach. At this cafe / restaurant we had some drinks and snacks during the lunch time. Staff was very friendly and polite. There is a separate play area with sand for the little ones as well. We could also rent umbrella and sunbeds during our stay.

The food was tastefully presented, absolutely plentiful, fresh, and delicious! It's clear that, as with any beach bar, you pay for the view... the staff is very friendly and frequently asks if everything is okay. The decor is top-notch 👍

We had a wonderful time sitting outside with a view of the beach and sea. Friendly service and excellent food. Very generous portions.

If you are late, the buffet will not be replenished. Food is fairly standard, cheese, meat, eggs, bacon, some (leftover) fruit and sandwiches, etc. The service (especially the bald man) is friendly.

We didn't eat. The staff was very attentive.

I had a cocktail, but it had an incredible amount of sugar syrup in it. It really wasn't good. It looks like a really nice, fancy place, but the benches and tables are dirty; almost filthy. Empty glasses were left at empty tables for ages, and when they were finally collected, they didn't even wipe them down. The restrooms weren't very clean either, and they were out of hand soap. Such a shame for such a beautiful place.

A really chilled beach club on the strand. Beautiful weather to enjoy the sunset. We had tea and apple pie whilst watching the dazzling colors in the sky as the sun set.

We had a delicious Thai meal, and the service was super friendly. The food was ready quickly, and the kids had a great time playing in the playground equipment.

We really like coming here with our kids - the location on the beach is nice and the play area is great. For adults the food is delicious if you like Thai food - and it’s nice and spicy which is hard to find here 🙃 I wish they would make a kids menu though - kibbeling, nuggets, kroket, pasta, burger etc… that’s what is missing.

Today, July 14th, I had lunch on the patio. It was nicely decorated, with comfortable chairs and lovely parasols. Unfortunately, the music on the patio was so loud that conversation was impossible. Turning the volume down was out of the question. The spicy chicken sandwich was way too dry. All in all, not recommended. This was also the last time I went there.

The food tasted okay, but nothing special. Of course, the price is higher, given that you're right on the beach, right in the tourist center. Still, you should expect the food to be really good. I had a salad with minced meat and beef. It tasted good, but it was almost all meat and not much, so you still felt hungry. See photo. There could have been more side dishes to go with the meat.

Great place to get a real holiday atmosphere. If you have smaller children, there is a really good playground in the sand, right next to the restaurant. Perfect for relaxing as parents and having good food/drinks.

Too bad that such a nice place gets such a shadow by the exceptionally bad and almost rude service. All understanding that on beautiful summer days it is busy and it can sometimes take a bit longer. But when half of our order is put on the table, it seems that the service also does not make any effort to finish it and put down cutlery. When I ask this person about it, I get the answer that he has more to do and then walks away. Really a shame.

This is a really nice place, with great food and a good atmosphere. Only I waited 30 minutes for my food. Then I asked where it was and they asked me who I had ordered from because they couldn't find the order. I thought that was rather strange, that I then have to tell who that was... the thing is: the food wasn't there! Then it was made quickly but no compensation (drink, small discount or some extras) and a mumbled apology... But luckily there are a lot of other beach bars, so next time I'll go there!

If the fried egg sandwich is ordered so often after twelve that the waitress already reports on behalf of the kitchen that it will not be made, you could still speak of excellent communication skills and short lines of communication as a company. Pancakes perhaps? No milk delivered. There is a supermarket within walking distance, but oh well. Croquettes please and a toasted sandwich. The beers ordered are nice and cold and fresh. When the plates arrive at the table, we see that the cheese on the toasted sandwich has not melted and the sandwich itself feels cold. When I cut open a croquette, the filling is colder than the outside temperature. We send the dishes back and indicate that we want to pay for our drinks. After a good five minutes, an employee comes to explain himself with the opening sentence 'I hear there is a miscommunication' while he sits down at our table. Long story short, he could arrange warm croquettes, but that was a missed opportunity. He walked away for a moment and came back to report that the dishes did not have to be paid for. The bill then took another ten minutes. Afterwards we enjoyed a wonderful day at the beach elsewhere...

Old fashioned place, because of the male employee with a tattoo on his neck I will never come here again. Treated very badly, was not busy at all, but did not come after half an hour even though several times a signal was given. Food is not tasty. At the end he dares to ask if I want to pin the amount that was on the receipt or another, very arrogant.

Beautiful view and a great playground for the kids — but overall, the service was seriously disappointing. We were a group of 7, and when we ordered drinks, the staff just dumped them all on one far corner of the table, completely out of reach. We had to get up and pass everything ourselves. The vibe from the female staff was that they were too good to actually serve anyone. If you don’t want to work in customer service, find another job. The Thai food was actually quite good, but the drinks were ridiculously overpriced. Worst of all, there were rusty nails and screws sticking out of the wooden floor in several spots — totally unsafe, especially with kids around. This needs urgent repair. The one saving grace? There was one server — usually shirtless and working the beach — who stood out. He had a very friendly, respectful vibe and gave us excellent service. He seemed to come from a different background where people are treated with genuine kindness. He was the only one who earned a tip from me. The others? Zero. And that’s exactly what that kind of rude, snobby attitude deserves.

The location is fantastic – right on the beach, which really adds to the ambiance. The food was tasty and well-presented, but not particularly special. They didn't use any authentic Thai herbs or vegetables, which is a shame. With a little more attention to those signature flavors, I would definitely have given it 5 stars. The staff was friendly and the service was excellent!

We wanted to eat here on Sunday 15th June. Didn't go. There was terrible noise (I don't call that banging coming from the speakers music). Unbelievable!!!! Beautiful evening, romantic by the sea and then that deafening banging. 'Music' couldn't be any softer. We quickly walked on. What a bummer.
