A cool atmosphere, the food was very tasty, and the staff was very friendly.

World travelers (Japanese & American couple who just turned 70) but first time to Hague. Liked that the location was next to a college (students tend to focus on good value) and that there were mother's with children enjoying a chat with their meal (we like mothers and children). Young college age servers were very friendly and suggested menu items (turkish food and coffee) which were new to us . Enjoyed the new to us food and lively, Ohana (we are based in Hilo Hawaii) feeling atmosphere.

I went for breakfast; the omelet was delicious, but the middle-aged woman who served us was quite stern and rude, never responding to anything and making strange facial expressions.

We accidentally ordered from another branch via the QR code outside. We mentioned it and it wasn't a problem, so we still got our sandwich! Great service, tasty coffee, and delicious sandwiches! Highly recommended if you still need to have lunch and are in the area.

We’re visiting The Hague from Germany for the first time and came to Ekmekçi for a family breakfast. What a great choice! A very special thank you to Dilek! She was absolutely wonderful — incredibly friendly, warm, attentive and helpful. Her positive energy and genuine smile made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. People like Dilek really make a difference, and we truly hope there are more people like her in hospitality. She definitely deserves a special mention! We ordered the All-In Breakfast and it was fantastic. The portions are very generous — honestly, one portion is too much for one person and probably enough for about 1.5 people. 😄 The gözleme was especially delicious, and everything was fresh and tasty. Great food, generous portions and, thanks especially to Dilek, wonderful service. Absolutely recommended! We’ll definitely come back!

I was satisfied with almost everything. However, the current condition of the tea glasses made it feel as though I was drinking tea in a dirty scrapyard. Also, since the ordering system is currently available only in Dutch, placing an order was quite difficult for anyone who does not speak Dutch.

The food was tasty. The atmosphere was very loud; you had to talk very loudly to understand each other. We had to wait a long time for the food. The staff were friendly, though.

I don't understand why you put matcha on the menu if you can't make it. You don't have to make everything; you could just stick with what you're good at. It was the worst matcha I've ever had; it had no taste because it wasn't properly blended, and it left a bitter taste in my mouth.

Truly a fantastic experience! The food was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and clearly prepared with great care. Everything was perfectly seasoned, and the ingredients were top-quality. What surprised me most positively was the packaging. Everything was packed in a super neat, sturdy, and professional manner. The food stayed wonderfully warm and looked just as well-presented upon arrival as it did in the restaurant. You can tell that a lot of attention is paid to presentation and quality. Additionally, the service was friendly, fast, and professional. For me, this is without a doubt one of the best places in The Hague. I will definitely be coming back here more often and can wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone!

Absolutely terrible service! Been happening constantly last 5 times or so that they do not follow the order notes when it is clearly specified. I can not eat certain things which I ask to take out but they still don't follow it. And don't add stuff that I do want added. It's not hard to read the notes!! Absolute waste of money because its pretty much going in the bin!

I'm at the restaurant right now. I ordered something from their all-in menu. Unfortunately, the service quality is extremely poor. The young waitress is taking orders with food in her mouth, and since basic utensils like plates aren't used, I guess in the Netherlands she just puts the order on the table and takes it away. It's upsetting.

I came here with my Italian friends because I wanted them to try a Turkish breakfast. Before ordering, we asked inside whether the campaign shown at the door — €5 discount for orders over €15 — was valid, and we were told that it was. However, when we came to pay, we were told that the discount does not apply to split payments. I understand that this may be a policy, but even then, the discount could have been applied at least to the last person paying or handled more clearly from the beginning. In the end, none of us received the discount. The food and experience were okay, but this situation lowered my satisfaction because the campaign conditions were not communicated clearly enough.

Besides the delicious food, the staff were very friendly and attentive. I would especially like to thank the lady who took our order. We were very pleased :)

They made me feel like I was in Turkey, even in the Netherlands. Eda Hanım, one of the staff members, was very sweet and kind, and the gözleme (Turkish flatbread) and breakfast she recommended were very filling and delicious. The place in general was lovely; we had breakfast while chatting to the accompaniment of Turkish music, and we were very pleased.

It was exactly the breakfast I was looking for; the setting and ambiance were lovely. Especially the waitress named Eda was really friendly, attentive, and efficient. I was personally very pleased.

I've ordered here often via Thuisbezorgd and also eaten on location. Always well taken care of and generous portions. The homemade lemonades are also highly recommended!

I usually really like eating here but I recently had two bad experiences that have made me feel more cautious. Today we ordered from here for the first time and they substituted the falafel on my potato for chicken. I am a vegetarian and the chicken was in tiny pieces that could not really be removed from the food. When we declared the issue we only got a 4€ refund for the falafel even though the whole meal was essentially inedible for me. If you are in the area and want to go here for lunch I can recommend eating here but I would not recommend ordering food from here as they do not seem to put a lot of care into takeout.

You either like it or you don't, to each their own... I'll walk right past it next time. What I personally found disappointing was the hygiene; the lady behind the counter was busy with everything and eventually packed the sandwiches for customers without washing her hands.

If you order loaded fries, you get a small portion of fries with a tiny bit of cheese for almost €8. When I asked the waitress for some more cheese, she said that's how the dish is supposed to be. Stingy.

Anyone who eats spicy sucuk (Turkish sausage) will be happy for a whole month, for sure!

This is the umpteenth time we've ordered something here and it's been wrong. The staff doesn't seem to understand, and the kitchen keeps making a mistake with the order. As a result, we have to wait a long time every time because the food has to be remade. We always enjoyed coming here, almost every week, but unfortunately, this was our last time.

Very disappointing experience. About a year ago, while I was working with Thuisbezorgd, I came to pick up an order. I asked politely if I could use the toilet, and a kind lady said yes and showed me the way. However, as I was heading there, one of her colleagues suddenly shouted at me, saying they didn’t have a toilet. The way he spoke to me felt extremely rude, and it’s something I won’t forget

Walked in here not knowing what cuisine it was but was pleasantly surprised it had gozleme as we had only been remarking a day earlier how much we wanted some. The restaurant was packed but they found us a table and we had the Mediterranean Gozleme, lemonade and coffee. All reasonably priced and on fed two of us. Worth visiting for a well priced quality meal.

The chef in the kitchen here has a real knack for cooking. I've rarely had such delicious gozleme in the Netherlands! Well-filled, fresh, and of good quality, with a variety of options. Something for everyone. The staff is very friendly, and you're served quickly. The price isn't bad either; especially for such a beautiful location right in the city center. I'll definitely be back and highly recommend it! 🙏

Delicious food, nice atmosphere, good service.

The food is delicious, but the staff, especially the one who's always the only one behind the counter (for a reason, perhaps?), are incredibly rude and unfriendly. I've never seen someone get so angry out of nowhere. (And the floor staff who work the tables are usually quite nice!) I've had several problems with her, unfortunately; she pretends to be about to order, only to then literally throw it in front of you (clearly on purpose) and give me a nasty look. Once, she gets angry when I ask if my order is ready, after I've said I'll be back in half an hour to pick it up. I politely gave her my number and asked if it would be ready in half an hour, and she immediately snapped "not ready." I asked, "Oh, isn't number X ready?" because you said it would be ready in about 15 minutes half an hour ago. Then she asked me which number (after I'd already told her twice), and then (again) threw it down in front of me and walked away. Anyway, the place would be a lot more fun, and more people would come in, because everyone around me had the exact same experience with her (alone), unfortunately. I've had many more experiences with her, but I think it's a shame it happens every time I want to pick up food. I only come in when she's not working, unfortunately.

This is the first place I think of when I want to eat in the city center, but also want to stay a while. Always friendly service and delicious food. Sometimes I just pop in for a coffee, which is the best, especially if the chef serves it to you :) Great job 👏🏼

Recently, I asked if we could sit at the bench despite the reservation sign. Unfortunately, we weren't allowed. A nice thing is, after we were eating, an office group came in with several couples next to us. During our meal, the staff came to tell us to get up so a large group could sit in the spot. Of course, we stayed together. The staff themselves admit to having a lot of trouble with the restaurant's policy. Given the mostly defensive responses to reviews, I think the management has a lot of room for improvement. Be hospitable, which isn't the case now. And I understand that you want to generate revenue, but you're losing customers this way.

Cozy and lively atmosphere! My wife and I had a lovely brunch here. The meals are completely customizable, which I find really convenient.

Ekmekci Spuistraat is an absolute gem in the center of The Hague! As soon as you step inside, you're greeted by the delicious aroma of freshly baked bread and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff is friendly, quick, and always happy to help you choose from the extensive menu. Every dish is delicious. The Spuistraat location is ideal for a quick lunch, a cozy meal with friends, or simply a tasty break from shopping. The prices are fair and the portions generous, so you really get your money's worth.

Ekmekçi on Spuistraat in The Hague has been a staple of every family weekend trip for almost two years. Even back in our hometown, we're already excitedly talking about how wonderful it will be to have breakfast there again. On the holiday, October 3rd, we could hardly wait to enjoy our breakfast at Ekmekçi – and as always, we weren't disappointed. The menu is diverse, fresh, and authentically prepared. It's perfect, especially with children: a relaxed atmosphere, friendly service, and dishes that everyone will enjoy. For us, Ekmekçi is more than just a restaurant – it's now a family favorite that we look forward to every time. Highly recommended and, for us, a definite 5-star experience!

Delicious food and reasonable prices

Definitely not a place to recommend, the service was beyond terrible, they brought our orders late, there was no cutlery on the table, our own servers had to get them ourselves, the service was so slow that we even had to go and get the waiting drinks ourselves from the counter. We ordered all in one and levent up breakfast, the plates were so empty that they had put stale bread and simit, two small slices, we went with 8 people and when we asked for bread again, they gave us a tiny plate with only 1 slice of stale bread for each person, they charged an extra 2 euros for the bread. The observations are made in ready-made yufka, don't go there thinking it's a delicious Turkish breakfast, you'll leave without being full and they'll send you away after paying for the bread they should have provided. We literally left hungry.

The staff were very pleasant, specifically waiters Kristian and Bea. The guy knew the menu well, therefore he assured that we chose accordingly to our liking.

The place is nice and cozy. The food is tasty and made directly in an open kitchen. The staff were really nice and helpful when I was trying to pick out what to get. Kristian, one of the staff members recommended me beef gözleme and it was delicious. At the bar Bea made my coffee order and made sure to make a heart out of the foam in my cappuccino. The coffee tasted good as well and had the perfect temperature, not too hot to burn my tongue.

We came to eat gozleme and drink coffee. The food was amazing and Bea was super welcoming. There was a French and Slovakian waiter and waitres who were beautifull people and I want to live with them till the end of my life.
