Dear Sir/Madam, We are writing to you regarding a very disappointing experience we had yesterday, [10/11/2025], while dining at your establishment. After a day out, we wanted to end the day peacefully with you. Unfortunately, what should have been a pleasant meal turned into a frustrating and endless ordeal. We arrived around 7:30 PM and were seated after a short wait. This was followed by an unacceptable series of delays: Drinks took 30 minutes to arrive. The food order wasn't taken until around 8:30 PM (an hour after arrival). The food (2 chicken satays, 2 burgers, 1 children's box) wasn't served until around 9:00 PM. This meant a 90-minute wait after arrival. The worst part of the situation was that the meals were incomplete. There was no cutlery or fries. The chicken satay had already been eaten when the fries finally arrived, after a second request to the staff. When we criticized the service, the only response we received was that it was "busy." We consider this an inadequate excuse. Poor service is a direct result of poor management. If you're short-staffed, it's better to stop accepting new customers rather than sacrificing the quality and experience of paying customers. In short: We waited over an hour and a half for a half-cold meal, which justifies the conclusion that we should have gone to a chip shop for this service. We now feel that your business is prioritizing making a quick buck over providing acceptable service. We hope you take this feedback to heart and be more transparent with your guests in the future if you can't handle the crowds.

We had a wonderful evening at Buge Anton on Saturday night. The restaurant has a really lovely atmosphere with stylish décor and great attention to detail. The staff were friendly and the service was spot on throughout. There was a live band setting up while we were there, and although we couldn’t stay for the music (young kids and all that), it already sounded like it was going to be a fantastic night. The food was beautifully presented and full of flavour. I had the pork dish, my wife had the swordfish, and the kids enjoyed the classic Dutch sausage and chips – all absolutely delicious. It wasn’t the cheapest night out, but the quality, ambience, and overall experience made it worth it. If we didn’t have the children with us, we’d have happily stayed for the music and another glass of wine! Highly recommend Buge Anton for a memorable evening out.

I order the Anton burger. It arrived lukewarm at best and looked uncooked in the middle. It was OK but nothing special. Service was good, prices were a little high for what you got but understandable as the establishment is big and finished to a high standard.

To celebrate our eldest daughter's pregnancy, we decided to hold the baby shower at By Anton. We go there often and are always very satisfied. Delicious food, friendly and welcoming staff, and a charming atmosphere. Twelve of us enjoyed the delicious, newly designed high tea. Several people had allergies and dietary requirements, which they asked about when booking. Very thoughtful. Everything was perfectly arranged! The high tea was delicious, more than enough, plenty of variety, new fresh teas, and the table looked very festive. We had balloons and flags to hang up. The other guests' comments were also lovely. All in all, a very successful afternoon, thanks to the By Anton team. Thank you, and see you soon.

The service was very attentive, polite, and respectful to our daughter. All I can say about the food was excellent, whether it was the burger, spare ribs, or salmon fillet. We'd be happy to come back. The ambiance is also faultless. Everything was clean and tidy.

We were there earlier. The food we had was very tasty, but unfortunately, we didn't get every dish for the starter or the main course, so each of us four had exactly one dish. We left without the main course. The starters we had and the one children's dish were very tasty.

Cappuccino was decent. The bell pepper soup was very small and from a can, way too salty and absolutely not tasty. I reported this, but nothing was done about it! The decor is modern and cozy.

Absolutely fantastic! The food was delicious. One minor complaint: the waitress came by every five minutes to ask if everything was to your liking, if you need another drink, or if I can clear something, that's a bit annoying. Let people enjoy their delicious meal in peace.

Super delicious, super friendly, and they even spoke German! I rarely recommend anything, but this is a must-go. It's extremely rare to find such friendly staff these days. We were very impressed. We spent a little more because we had dessert. 😉 Thank you so much! ☺️

Today we enjoyed a delicious lunch at a beautiful and atmospheric location with friendly staff. The owner was also brimming with creative ideas and extensive local knowledge. Not far from the bustling Efteling theme park.

Good burgers, good selection of beers on tap and ESPECIALLY a nice view towards the old fire station and town sqare. The selection of the foods could be more ample, though and translated into English. I give 4 STARS for the view over the town square. (Modified to 1 STAR one week later because they didn't serve beer in 0.5 litre glass mugs, but in 0.25 litre plastics because it was a fair in the town square and people would presumable leave with their mugs. They didn't noticed me in advance and the restaurant next door was selling beer normally without any problem. Dumbo people. I paid their shitty plastic baby beer and left without drinking it.)

Really good lunch but service was not okay, girls did their best it was also busy, but there was 1 boy who first needs to learn how to interact with guests, he couldn't say Good afternoon, came with the wrong food, no problem for us, but the way he dealt with it. A little later he brought the ordered food, which was slammed on the table without saying anything. Once again a delicious meal but service (boy) that really needs to improve

We were surprised about the quality of the food, the Dorade filet was excellent. The service was smooth and friendly, the atmosphere is Cozy and Warm, luckily the music is not hard. We will definitely go here more often.

Cozy atmosphere, beautiful and spacious outside terrace. Carpaccio with red onion, that's a no go. The taste of red onion predominates. That's a shame. Spare ribs were wonderfully tender with tasty thick fries. Strawberry cheesecake dessert was also very successful. Very friendly service.

The restaurant is very fancy but from my experience the service and the food was terrible and it's not a cheap restaurant so I was expecting much more for the food and for some quality service. Since the moment that we called per phone and asked if we should take food for our baby or if they have anything without salt or if we should take from our own and when we arrive it was a big mess because there was nothing without salt (on the phone we were been told that they could arrange some soup), so employers came to our table 3 times and on the end the chef needed to came to the table because of this miss comunication with the team however, it was very nice of him that he offered to do some puree with vegetables that they had (which my daughter didn't liked but its was very nice from him). We order entrecote medium rare but the meat was not sealed, we asked to take it back and to have another one because it also needed to be a bit more rare although the meat came the same way, as you can see on the image, did not have much flavor, still not sealed on outside, and was dry but we were so hungry and tired of that bad service that we ate that. For a 60€ meat I could do it better at home and Im not a chef.

Unfortunately sat at the table for 45 minutes. And no one had come by to take an order yet. People behind us had placed an order for 2 cups of coffee when we just sat down. And 45 minutes later we still didn't have it. They also started complaining. We left after 45 minutes at a dirty table.

This place is highly recommended. We ate there during our stay at Efteling and were completely surprised by the burgers, the staff, and the atmosphere. A great place for a relaxing evening with family or friends.

Ate with 4 people, all dishes were very tasty. It was communicated that there was a large group and that the food was served less quickly than normal. We haven't heard anything about this.

It was beautiful weather and a market on the square. Wanted to have a nice drink on the terrace. The sofas were dirty and not cleaned/wiped down. There was still a wet broken cigarette butt on the couch and dirty mess. The staff seems to walk around as if they don't know what they are doing. I asked for a map but we never saw it again. Shame!

It's not bad, but for the price you expect better. The service was messy, the vegetables were a bit burnt and partly cold on 2 plates. The cutlery was dirty 3 times. Too bad, with a little more effort it could be a great restaurant.

After a day at Efteling, the two of us wanted to have a nice bite to eat yesterday. We had made a reservation and when we came in, no one attended to us even though there were quite a few staff present. Unfortunately, the staff seemed to be busy with everything except the guests. It was quiet and there were about 5 tables occupied. Ordering drinks went quickly, but it took a very long time before we could order food. As a starter we had a bread board, but the bread was still frozen on the inside and when we indicated this, it was exchanged for a new one. It then took a long time before we received the main course, with part of the dish missing. The staff didn't look our way and we had to make a lot of effort to get their attention. We finally walked over to report it. Then the staff decided to move the tables around our table while we were eating. The missing part of the dish was brought with the excuse that they were cleaning up and therefore forgot about it. This made us feel unwelcome and as if we had to eat quickly because we were a burden to them. The food was fine and the staff was friendly. Unfortunately we couldn't have a nice meal at all and it ruined our evening.

After a day at Efteling, ended up at Anton via Google. Nice, big tent, really spacious. Friendly service and a normal menu. We had the steak and salmon tartare; was delicious. The spare ribs (a bit spicier than normal) and the Anton burger were also good.

I had a nice meal here after a day at the Efteling. Anton has a cozy restaurant and the food was delicious. The meat on Antons Burger was very salty and the fries were unsalted. That's the only thing I can fault.

Met recht de huiskamer van Kaatsheuvel. Een jaar geleden heeft Bij Anton een metamorfose ondergaan. Voortaan eigen toiletten (niet meer bij het gemeentekantoor), maar vooral een gezelligere uitstraling. Naast het gezellige terras nu dus ook huiselijk binnen. Het personeel is een fijn en divers team dat er alles aan doet om je een fijne ervaring te geven. Hier kom je voor een prima maaltijd en/of een speciaal biertje (waarbij ik altijd kijk naar de wisselende inhoud van de bierkoelkast). Naast de hamburgers zijn de spareribs aanraders. En met een beetje geluk is er live muziek of worden er plaatjes gedraaid.

We hadden gehoopt op een mooie afsluiting van de dag na een geweldige voorstelling van Holiday on ice. Het werd uiteindelijk een grote deceptie. We hadden ruimschoots van tevoren gereserveerd. Van de 7 hoofdgerechten waren er nog slechts 3 voorradig. We kozen noodgedwongen voor gerechten, die we normaal gesproken niet zouden hebben genomen. Een goed alternatief was er niet. Ondanks de excuses van het bedienend personeel was het een zodanige teleurstelling dat we besloten hebben dit restaurant voortaan te vermijden.

Very nice place to have a drink or something to eat! Too bad it only opens at 12 noon on weekends. Several people have already been affected and are therefore moving to Waalwijk. November 10 addition: opening hours changed to 5 p.m. on a Sunday.......

After a day at Efteling, we settled here today for a meal with the 7 of us. First of all: extremely friendly service. The menu is somewhat simple, but the business did have a beer refrigerator with many different niche specialty beers. This is a huge top for me as I really love this. In addition, they had indicated the price for the beers per shelf in the refrigerator, which I thought was very nice. Some good specialty beers went for €3.95, which in my opinion is a good price that you will not easily find. They also had many different classic specialty beers on tap, and the beer tasting for €15 was also a successful choice. The food varied a bit per dish. For example, the pork tenderloin was very good, but the spareribs were not very special. Nothing was bad though, so I can't give it less than 4 stars. Thank you, and I think we will come back again after we have been to the Efteling! 😄

Great experience after a day at Efteling. Prices are reasonable by Dutch standards. The three of us including a drink cost us €64. The quality of the meat dishes is excellent! Highly recommended. We were served kindly. Feels like a family business.

Restaurant Bij Anton is een absolute aanrader voor zowel diner als lunch. Wij bezochten het restaurant met een groep van 11 personen en werden niet teleurgesteld. Het diner was een smaakvolle ervaring met heerlijke gerechten tegen betaalbare prijzen. De porties waren prima en de kwaliteit van het eten was top. De volgende dag besloten we ook te lunchen en ook toen werden we verrast door de variatie en versheid van de gerechten. Een enkel verbeterpunt zou zijn om tijdens de lunch geen jus d'orange uit pak te serveren, maar voor een verse variant te kiezen. Dit zou de ervaring nog beter maken. Wat het restaurant extra bijzonder maakt, is de ontspannen en informele sfeer. Het interieur voelt gezellig aan en is geschikt voor zowel grotere groepen als intiemere gezelschappen. De bediening verdient een speciale vermelding: ze wisten precies in te spelen op onze wensen, waren attent en vriendelijk zonder opdringerig te zijn. Kortom, Bij Anton biedt een fantastische combinatie van lekker eten, goede service en een warme ambiance. Zeker een plek om terug te komen!

There are still some areas for improvement in this case. When you enter, there is no one to welcome you even though you have made a reservation. Takes a long time for someone to take your order even though it's not busy at all. Things are forgotten on the dishes that are on the open menu. Service staff walks into your chair and doesn't say anything. It just doesn't sit comfortably so close together and then with the controls all there without in between. Something goes wrong again at dessert and they blame each other. You have to look carefully to go to the toilet. Is not indicated or cannot be seen. Management doesn't look up or around and just lets you search. No, sorry, but you won't see me here anymore. 👎🏼

Excellent lunch menu, you don't see that much anymore these days. 12 hours of fishing was delicious. Spicy onion soup, shrimp croquette sandwich and tuna salad sandwich with some green decorations and a sweet and sour sauce. Smooth service with a smile, fast service, quality!

I went there briefly and had one drink because we came for the fair, but what a poorly organized place there! First of all, VERY expensive €3.10 for 1 ice tea, which is not normal, but then I pay with a 20 note because I didn't have a smaller one with me, but it took them a long time to exchange it and then I had to pay 16. When I got 90 back, I got 13.00 back, then she quickly walked away and I went inside, I said that she had given too little and I just didn't want to give it, in the end she did give it, but I don't go with that mess anymore POINT OUT.

My experience at "Bij Anton" during the fair was disappointing. Considering the event, you would expect that the restaurant had prepared for an influx of visitors, but unfortunately that turned out not to be the case. It started with a long wait to even get a table. Once inside it became clear that there were not enough staff to handle the crowds. The wait staff seemed inexperienced and disorganized; our order was forgotten several times and we had to constantly ask for attention. The staff that was there seemed disinterested in the customers. There was little eye contact, and every question or request was answered with visible reluctance. The food itself came through much too slowly. After a long wait, the quality of the dishes turned out to be substandard, and the portions were on the small side. In short, eating at "Bij Anton" during the fair was a mistake. The service was slow and chaotic, and the staff seemed ill-prepared for the crowds. I will definitely choose a different restaurant next time.

Had a delicious meal with the family. We satay with tender chicken thighs, more than enough fries and a portion of salad with bacon. The smallest an American pancake with whipped cream and some fruit. For dessert a crème brûlée, cheesecake. Both delicious and sufficient. Afterwards the kids were allowed to pick out a little something from the 'treasure chest'. Had a great evening, went back to the house satisfied and the kids went to bed on time. Service was very friendly (also for the kids). Free parking next door (blue zone until 6 p.m.).

A very good place to have dinner when spending a night at the Efteling hotel. Few minutes drive only. Food here is good with also some veggie choice. Super friendly staff, reasonable prices and a very nice atmosphere. Would certainly go back.

Top 👍🏻. We were there spontaneously with 9 people from Germany and received excellent service. The food was great and occasionally spicy 😅. But that was how it was described and we were not disappointed. Thank you for allowing us to eat with you 👍🏻😁.

It was fine but I won't come back for it. When paying, someone came over the counter in front of us without indicating this. To Grab Something… No, not recommended so far.

We had a wonderful meal at Anton's last Friday. The food was delicious. You have a lot of choice and something for everyone. The employees are extremely friendly, cheerful and skilled in their work. The choice of specialty beers is unprecedented. A whole fridge full of delicious beers and also 8 or 9 on tap. It has been completely renovated and looks very beautiful. Fresh and modern and yet a nice homely feeling. If I had to mention one point of criticism... you are far too far from our home address... if you ever want to open an extra branch, do it in Gouda and I will become a regular customer. It was really GREAT!!!

Service is mediocre, you have to wait a long time before being helped. The person in charge shows little interest. Things also went wrong at checkout, we had to pay a lot for what we had. The food is okay, but perhaps a bit substandard in taste for the price asked. Portion sizes are good. Service was very disappointing, people usually did not come to your table themselves, you had to clearly look at the employee behind the bar or even wave to attract attention. The music was too loud for a restaurant and the metal chairs with wooden seats were not very comfortable. It was fine for once, but I wouldn't go there again.
