For her birthday, I took my mother to Bij de Jongens for a five-course dinner (surprise menu). It was absolutely fantastic. The food was delicious, beautiful, and original. The service was superb. It was truly star-worthy! And all for a great price. We even got two appetizers on the house, so we actually had seven courses. I've never eaten as well as I did here in my life. Go there!!

We had another delicious (and surprisingly delicious) meal at De Jongens! Luckily, there was a spot for two under the non-smoking awning without a reservation (smokers are welcome on the large terrace). For dinner, you can choose from a three-course or more-course surprise menu, and dietary requirements and preferences are well-considered. All the dishes were delicious, with a few delightful appetizers in between. This was pure indulgence! Thanks and see you soon!

Café with a fantastic interior and service. The food wasn't exactly my taste, but it was beautifully prepared and hot. I had Mozzarella and mango, which is a bun with mozzarella, lots (too much) tomato salsa, pesto, heart lettuce and mango. The service was friendly, but it was busy, so there was a transition where we considered leaving after we had finished our drinks, because the waiter hadn't taken our order. The waiter came after some time and we also got our food. Long after we had finished all our drinks. It's clean and the toilets are beautiful. And then there was the detail that the church bells played for 30 minutes! Really nice carillon, but it went on for far too long. The café can't help that, but it took the peak of our visit that we could hardly talk to each other.

We were looking for a quick bite on a layover to Nijmegen and stumbled upon this place. We had a delicious meal in a relaxed atmosphere with friendly service. Highly recommended!

Unfortunately, we didn't eat here. We only had coffee and cake, and after dinner, we had coffee at one of the neighbors'. There, we saw what was being served, and oh, it looked so good. We regretted not eating here!!! Better luck next time.

Last night we were treated to a surprise 3-course meal. It was fantastic, and we had a blast, especially because the menu was so surprising, but above all, so delicious. Well done, guys, and of course, the ladies too.

As Zwolle locals, we love coming here for a wonderful gastronomic treat. The service is exceptionally pleasant and welcoming. The atmosphere was a bit affected by a few boisterous guests, but that's obviously beyond the staff's control. Highly recommended for those who appreciate culinary delights, and relatively affordable.

We didn't find the host very friendly No menu to make a free choice regarding food..only something to drink Oh yes and there was also someone who was re-organizing tables and chairs that were already in the right place and that with a very unfriendly face! Not our terrace!

Not convincingly satisfied. After lunch the menu is changed and you can only use a drinks menu. The choice is very limited and too expensive for what you can order. Staff not really involved, grabs a bottle of beer as you walk past while it was not completely empty. Not really worth repeating.

What a fantastic restaurant. A gem in Hattem. The food was sublime, surprising and made with a lot of attention and love. The presentation was beautiful. Delicious wines and top service. Friendly, correct and they knew everything about the food and the wines. I have a new favorite. I would not give a lower score than a 10.

What a fantastic discovery. Great food, all works of art on the plate that were very special in taste and super tasty!! The "boys" make the evening into one great experience, thanks to the chefs and the boys. The dessert specially made for our wedding day was more than a crown on the evening!!!! It's just a pity that 1 guest who only came to drink something and sat next to us and through them we experienced as an intrusion on the atmosphere of our evening. But nevertheless, you will definitely see us again!

Last Sunday, a friend and I stopped at Bij De Jongens in Hattem after a motorcycle ride. We were immediately welcomed by Bas! The drinks were delicious, we were well looked after and the staff was very friendly. The location is beautiful and the terrace had a nice and cosy atmosphere. I will definitely come back to eat something. In short, highly recommended!

What a great place! We enjoyed a lovely afternoon on the terrace of this cosy café. The atmosphere was relaxed, the service friendly and fast, and the view from the terrace was perfect for people watching and relaxing. A must for anyone looking for a cosy terrace with quality and hospitality. We will definitely be back!

Incredibly nice, tasteful experience! When booking I asked if vegan was an option, and that was no problem. We were very surprised by all the taste and color sensations on the plate, this was really a party. Enjoyed from start to finish, also the super friendly men in the service. Tip; go for the vegetable menu, you will be amazed!!

We ended up here for dinner by chance. We opted for a multi-course menu and were not disappointed. Incredibly delicious creations with a select selection of top-quality wines. The service was also very attentive and friendly. Thank you for a lovely evening.

You wouldn't believe it, but two reservations with the same last name caused a misunderstanding. This resulted in a special situation upon arrival, which meant that there was actually no place for us. The staff immediately took action and conjured up an extra table, so that we could still enjoy a delicious dinner. We were very happy about that. The food was great and the service was just as good. We would love to come back again.

Very satisfied, beautiful place and delicious food. We had a 3 course surprise menu, cost 45 euros. What was unfortunately also a surprise were the extra costs charged for the bread of 16 euros. We had not ordered that ourselves and it was simply placed on the table, so we assume that it is part of the surprise menu. These additional costs were not communicated to us and were not mentioned anywhere on the menu. And the same goes for the cheese board for desert. We were given the choice of sweet or cheese, but no mention was made of the additional costs involved. I personally have trouble with that.

Enjoyed a delicious 3-course menu in this cozy restaurant. The service is top notch and the appetizers are delicious. Take your time because there is plenty of time between dishes.

They really shine during their work and you can see that they are proud of what they serve. The food is truly a gift! As a vegetarian, a surprise menu is usually not a success (celeriac, beetroot, etc. are often the things you get), but the chefs/chefs at Bij de Jongens make it a party for every vegetarian! Een avond heerlijk genieten! Geweldige avond gehad. Bas en Ramon zijn perfecte gastheren die je heel erg welkom laten voelen. Ze stralen echt tijdens het werk waarbij je kan zien dat ze trots zijn op wat ze bedienen/ serveren. Het eten is echt een cadeautje! Als vegetariër is meestal een verrassingsmenu geen succes (knolselderij, rode biet enz zijn vaak dingen die je dan krijgt) maar de chef/koks van Bij de Jongens maakt het voor elke vegetariër een feestje! Zo veel smaak, variatie en geweldige combinaties. Dikke complimenten! Daarnaast weten ze precies wat je als zwangere wel en niet mag. Echt een avond ontspanning en puur genieten (tip… neem thee en koffie na. Staat je dan een leuke verassing te wachten!)

I didn't try everything, and I will definitely come here again, but the salad and Mexican club were tasty. The crispy chicken was especially tasty. If I took anything else, a full review will follow. Until then, you'll just have to make do.

I didn't eat here because it didn't happen. Why? It was after 6 p.m. in the restaurant reserved for us The selection of dishes was limited to a starter menu and then 3 set menus that could be ordered with a choice of 3, 4 or 5 courses. That wasn't our intention. We would have preferred a menu with different dishes, starters and desserts. Too bad.

Was superlekker! Broodje buikspek … aanrader! Leuk personeel en een fijne sfeer. Het eten werd snel opgediend en toevallig had ik ook weinig tijd.

Prettige ontvangst in een gezellige zaak die goed en gezellig is ingericht. Daarnaast ook een mooi terras. Leuke kaart en naast de voorbeeldige bediening ook topchefs in de keuken. Bestelde gerechten waren goed verzorgd en zeer goed op smaak. Daarnaast zijn ook de details op orde, mooi flesje mineraalwater, heerlijke koffie en verrassend goede kwaliteit voor een zeer redelijke prijs.

I recommend everyone to relax with the boys in Hattem after a day of shopping in Zwolle. I was already amazed when I walked in; I had never seen the interior and the colors in this combination. The experience was made perfect by the friendly and professional service. I also find their style in terms of amuses very inspiring. Another small critical note: we thought half past three was very early when the last lunch dishes could be ordered, but it is understandable if so much attention is paid to the flavor combinations that will undoubtedly also be offered during dinner, which require the necessary preparations. All in all a great experience! Remember this

What a fantastic evening we had at Bij De Jongens food & drinks! There were three of us and we opted for the three-course menu: twice the meat/fish menu and once the vegetable menu. With the vegetable menu we also had a special request not to use refined sugars, and the chef surprised us positively with that! We were pampered from the start. The pre-dinner amuse-bouches were absolutely brilliant and immediately set the tone for what would be an unforgettable culinary experience. Every dish that followed was a true work of art, not only beautifully presented but also a true explosion of taste. A pleasure for both the eye and the taste buds. The dessert without refined sugars was a challenge for the chef, but he proudly presented his creation. And rightly so: a beautiful and tasteful masterpiece! A big compliment to him, because such a request is usually announced in advance, but he managed to solve this perfectly on an ad hoc basis. In addition to the culinary delight, the friendly and attentive staff made the evening complete. We felt really welcome and valued as guests. In short, a fantastic evening that we will not soon forget. This restaurant is an absolute must for anyone near Hattem. Be surprised by the chef and the great team - you won't regret it. Very nice place to eat/drink in Hattem! We ended up here for lunch by chance and were pleasantly surprised. We love the decor and atmosphere, even the toilets;) We had a delicious lunch, the lunch table with various dishes is highly recommended! The service was also very friendly, thanks :)

Great food. But why wait so long? After a ballet performance in Meppel we had a nice dinner here. Reserved table at 7:00 PM. Delicious food in itself, but what is it with many Dutch restaurants that you have to wait 2 hours for your main course. It's a shame that you have to wait so long for everything. Food itself is fine. But still, a waste of experience.

Geweldig restaurant, zowel vwb het diner als ook de service en locatie. Wij kenden het restaurant niet maar afgaande op de positieve recensies van diverse sites gekozen om hier een keer langs te gaan. We had a delicious meal, despite the hassle we had beforehand. We were assigned a table at the very back of the restaurant...it was a separate room...where the two of us sat. We indicated that we did not want to sit here...the lady who served us said that this was not possible...all tables were occupied...eventually after a lot of hassle... A table has been created for us in the restaurant....in the end we have a nice evening.

On this drizzly gray evening, a beautiful shower of stars descended on our plates. What a festive evening. If a restaurant manages to distinguish itself with an appetizer, you can almost be sure that such an evening will be a culinary highlight. And so it happened. Top level dinner, friendly and passionate staff who do everything they can to provide us with an excellent evening. We found an oyster with a golden pearl along the IJssel. Big thanks.

Dit restaurant, gelegen in het hart van Hattem, is een prachtige plek om te eten. Zeer goed eten, supervriendelijk personeel en een leuke inrichting. Bij binnenkomst eerst in de kleine achtertuin een heerlijke prosecco gedronken waarna we aan tafel werden gebracht waar we een verrassingsmenu kozen. Alles was heerlijk en verrassend, afgesloten met kaasplankje met mooie kazen Zeker een aanrader om gezellig te tafelen. Wij komen terug!

Op deze mooie vrijdagmiddag lunchen in Hattem. Keuze viel op dit terras en gelukkig maar want we hebben genoten van een wrap met kip, salade met tonijn&meloen, carpaccio en zalm op brood. Heerlijk!!

De sfeer is warm en intiem, perfect voor een ontspannen diner of een gezellige avond met vrienden. Het eten is werkelijk voortreffelijk; de gerechten zijn zorgvuldig bereid met verse ingrediënten en met een oog voor detail dat elke hap een ware traktatie maakt. Of je nu kiest voor een klassieker of een verrassend nieuw gerecht, de smaken zijn altijd perfect in balans en de presentatie is om door een ringetje te halen. An excellent selection of wines is served that takes every meal to a higher level. What really makes Bij de Jongens special is the staff. Extremely courteous, friendly and always willing to make you feel welcome and comfortable. They know the menu inside and out and are happy to provide recommendations that will complete your culinary experience. It always feels like coming home, and we like to be pampered here.

Not a great experience. Ordered a Ceasar wrap salad. It then came as the regular Ceasar salad. We still had to pay 13,50 for this ceasar salad instead of 6 euros as a Ceasar salad side as is mentioned on the menu. Way overpriced place.

Met een tafel van 8 namen de we proeverij lunch. Een bietenwrap, de vegetarische was o.k. de kip teleurstellend, weinig smaak. Een mini mini kopje soep, wat lauw, wel o.k. Een mini mini kroket ongeveer zo groot als een halve duim met een klein broodje. Een mini broodje kaas of tonijn, die was o.k. We hadden prosecco 45 euro de fles.... Niet gekoeld! We hadden plat en bruis water, niet gekoeld! (Ongeveer om 13.00 uur, dan al door je koeling heen?) Ruime een half uur moeten wachten voordat we eten konden bestellen. De koffie zonder suikerzakjes. Op zich is dat geen probleem, maar als je het bij elkaar optelt is het geheel beneden de maat.

A beautiful place on the inside. Service on the terrace is slow. The focus of the service is more on the diners inside. If you only want to have a drink on the terrace, it is better to sit next to it at brasserie De Markt. I can't say anything about the food.
