Celebrated my bather's 90th birthday here. The gazebo was an excellent choice. Ben even suggested we install a playpen because he thought it was a bit quiet. He's truly fantastic. The service was perfect; we only had to ask for anything and it was done. The snacks were delicious and luxurious. After the birthday, we had a lovely meal on the terrace with a few others, and that was also perfect. A big 10 for you.

The patio has been beautifully renovated. It's also more inviting inside. However, due to the construction of the patio, you see fewer trees. The prices are steep. The food is worth it, but you don't always want to spend that much.

Nice place in the middle of the park, recently renovated. The food is average. The service depends on the staff member (probably as in most places) — when we asked for seat cushions, one waiter didn’t respond, while another brought them with a smile. The manager is friendly. Overall, we had a pleasant lunch there.

Had lunch at 12 o'clock. The soup didn't taste very good. I had a croquette sandwich and a slice of bread with tuna, a little melted cheese, and capers on top. I gulped it down. €16.50 is too expensive. Iced coffee was watered-down bitter coffee with ice cubes for €5.50 plus an extra €1.20 for caramel flavor, which I didn't taste. Cappuccino €4.20. Had to wait a long time for their order to be taken and delivered to the table. Very young staff. Had to wait 20 minutes for a cappuccino. Stains on the sofa cushions. There's a garbage can on the patio. In short, it's a run-down place outside, boring, no atmosphere, subpar food, especially for the price! And expensive drinks. I'll be looking for a different restaurant/patio from now on.

A beautiful lunch setting. Only some of the staff are incompetent!! Two waitresses stood chatting for 10 minutes, leaving their newly arrived guests hanging like air! Then a schoolboy came to take our order (1 cappuccino and 1 coffee!), for which he had to come to our table twice because he'd forgotten it! Another employee brought the forgotten cutlery to the next table, which was simply shoved into the guests' hands! It's a shame this happens; management should definitely keep a closer eye on this!!

Sadly, it's not what it used to be. The inside looks absolutely awful. The staff is far too inexperienced. It's a shame to waste such a nice place.

We came for coffee without a reservation, which the hostess clearly didn't appreciate. Fortunately, we were allowed to sit down anyway. The tables were messy and dirty, and it took a long time to be helped. There was an incident where a woman fell. The waiter (a man in a white shirt) didn't offer to help her, but instead made a derogatory remark and turned his back on her—extremely unprofessional! Furthermore, the place looks unkempt, with trash bins and litter everywhere. The milkshake and coffee were good, though!

I celebrated my 65th birthday in one of the venues, and it was a great success. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the snacks were delicious. The only downside was the acoustics in the venue. But all in all, a wonderful party in a beautiful location.

From the outside, it looks great, but inside, it's pure poverty. The meeting room is noisy, and cheap workers are everywhere, leaving their trash scattered around. The restrooms are old, and the staff is very, very young and inexperienced. They take plates away while you're still eating and grab glasses from the top. Not something I'll be returning to!

I had lunch here through work for an event. I understood from work that they had indicated that vegetarian options were required, but that the brasserie itself was free to choose. I don't eat four-legged animals myself, but the brasserie didn't ask us about any dietary requirements beforehand. At lunch, we all received a ready-made plate of sandwiches and fruit. Although the brasserie politely informed my Muslim colleague that everything was halal, they reacted quite differently to my question. On my plate, I had a (beef) croquette sandwich, a roast beef sandwich, and a cheese sandwich. When I asked if it contained beef, the waitress politely confirmed it did. When I explained that I don't eat beef, she simply said, "Oh, you can't eat that then," and hurriedly left. There was no compromise, no service from the brasserie, and no apology whatsoever. I had to make do because the waitress hurriedly left and didn't seem to want to help me. Ultimately, my colleagues and I managed to work something out and we swapped sandwiches, but the service from the brasserie was sorely lacking. I found that a real shame. For this reason, I wouldn't recommend this place if you have special dietary requirements.

Yesterday we went here for dinner with a group of 5 people. We were guided to the table upon arrival but then ignored, after half an hour we walked to the service ourselves to order drinks. After this we passed on the dinner, but after it was served at the table it turned out that 1 dish was not 'available' and something else had to be chosen... strange when everything is already on the table, 1 person could not eat at the same time as the rest, super unsociable and of course also strange that you are not informed in advance of what can and cannot be ordered, I think this could have been indicated earlier. The food was also not entirely tasty, the sticky bites were full of chili and therefore way too spicy (not indicated anywhere) It all tasted very sour, as if it was not completely right The staff is a big fat turn-off anyway for such a beautiful location you expect at least friendliness, but there was no smile from them and they were hardly to be seen while the terrace was reasonably full with the beautiful weather, you had to keep looking for staff to order something... I would not spend a cent more here! Too bad for such a beautiful location

We had a festive family lunch, discussed in advance and it was good, what I agreed was there and everything was possible in the large gazebo that we had at our disposal. Nice service, very young, friendly and they did their best! A relaxed, pleasant afternoon.

On Wednesday 18 June reserved for Friday 27 June at five o'clock When we arrived there was a wedding. We said that there was a reservation, they looked at us as if they saw water burning and said, go and ask. Whereupon someone came to us and said that we could not eat there because the entire location was rented and whether I had not canceled which was not the case, I also think this is a stupid question otherwise we would not be there. I wonder when that wedding was booked, I assume later than 18 June, he looked in the book and said you were crossed out. I had the feeling that we were being looked away from rather than being spoken to properly. Too bad my husband had turned 75 and we wanted to eat with the children so not despite the reservation. Very bad service. They will not see us there again. I also think this is recommended.

I had a really bad experience. I was there with my colleagues and ordered a drink. Everyone else received theirs, but mine took so long that I had to cancel the order because everyone had already finished their drinks. Bad service

On the terrace for a drink. After being ignored for fifteen minutes, I walked over to a girl and ordered something from her. This never came. After waiting for more than half an hour, we left. There were only very young people working there, who we had the idea did not really know what they were doing. Too bad... because it is a beautiful location.

The food was ok, but some of the items were not as advertised. For example, the "homemade lemonade" is clearly made with concentrate and it's basically sugar with water. The service was terrible. We were waiving at someone to look over to us, and it took 5+ minutes until someone finally came over, only to forget our order so my partner had to go to the bar to order their drink directly there. For the price, I don't think I'm coming back

Wrap with chicken thigh was delicious! Also beautiful location, what a green surprise between The Hague and Rijswijk. Missed opportunities: -- Request for a glass of tap water with coffee was not possible. -- After showing interest in more information about the 'homemade strawberry lemonade' the waitress asked and then the feedback was "it is just homemade". Oops, at a beautiful location with good lunch dishes the customer friendliness and service are lagging considerably. Come on BTB, that must and can be better 💪 By the way, 'management' of Bijna Thuis, where are your reactions to the many critical reviews here?

Had my friends baby shower here. Kim and the manager on the day were amazing - they were very considerate and tried to accommodate our needs as much as possible. We enjoyed our high tea. ☕️ The restaurant is in a beautiful green area. Really amazing experience overall.

Last week we had our wedding party at 'Bijna Thuis' with our loved ones. The General & Event manager listened to all our wishes and added some extras (without extra costs). Great! When we entered, the room was beautifully decorated. We had a delicious meal and the staff was super friendly. We were allowed to put on our own music. And then there was the dessert. We had chosen small pastries. Delicious and served very chic. Really recommended for your parties! We had a fantastic day. Thank you!

We had made a reservation for a Saturday evening at 18:30. After ordering dinner at 19:00, we were told that they have been closing at 20:00 for 2 weeks. Advice: report this when making the reservation (by phone). Now our dinner with friends was very short. Food was generally good. Had a nice meal. Only the steak on the skewer was tough. The atmosphere gets few stars, because there were hardly any other guests besides us. Which is also logical if you close at 20:00.

Is owner Raymond van den Berg now reviewing his own business after a mountain of bad reviews after Easter? And do you happen to have several people who are enthusiastic and only have one review in their profile? The current owner has missed a turn somewhere. Almost Home is no longer what it was under the previous owner... an almost home.

In the past, I have celebrated several of my daughter's birthdays outside under 'the tent' to my complete satisfaction. However, new owners are making a mess of it; grumpy, surly and not hospitable. Food not what you would expect for that price, service slow.

Definitely a nice location! Unfortunately today, Sun April 28, ministry is lagging behind the facts. Drinks that come from 2 different places. Have lunch on time, but no cutlery. The 2nd drink also took a very long time. “Runner” walked around with our drinks, asking at each table… We were certainly not the only table with problems, people around us were asked several times how their drinks were going... And then the question whether my fellow table companion wanted ice in her wine... pff, where is any knowledge of wine... All in all, excellent food... but the service leaves much to be desired...

Pokébowl with lots of ice cold clumps of rice, 2 ingredients were missing, lipstick on cup, vegetables weren't much. There was no recording of a second drink. I felt very sorry for the waitress, who also received a complaint from another table. By the way, I didn't see a chef to apologize for. So I didn't pay for the poke bowl.

Very bad service. No attention to the customer at all. Clearing empty plates takes (too) long. On Easter Monday, the brunch buffet was perfect, with everything catered for from young to old! Also wear gloves (kokin) but it was really welcome, but really below par, a mess!! No hospitality, dirty order on the floor, really very messy, no good communication at all, and the live music started very messily and also reverberated. The last half hour was good! Too bad it wasn't the singer's fault!!! Very good, the toilet was clean, the glasses were not cutlery either! Lots of stains on the wine glasses! Too bad the person who took my reservation was very professional! And also on weekends during crowds!!!

Very mediocre to poor Easter brunch, little variety, lukewarm cappuccino. All drinks were on top of the price of 34.95 pp, which was more expensive than at Van der Valk, while the quality and diversity there are 100x better, but unfortunately they were full. To make matters worse, the guests were also put outside at uncovered wet tables!!!! Once but never again!!!!!

Easter brunch with the family. Dramatically bad buffet, service okay, live music okay. If you pay €550 for 12 people, you can only draw the conclusion that this is far, far below the level you can expect for this money. A mockery.

Easter Monday. We had made reservations for inside. Upon arrival it turned out that the restaurant was under renovation and we had to sit outside. We were not informed about this and not dressed for it so it was chilly. The children could look for Easter eggs, but children who arrived later no longer had Easter eggs, everything had already been collected by other children. The buffet was very awkwardly laid out. The entire restaurant went to get food at the same time, causing long lines. The ragout was on a completely different table than the ragout containers. The food was poorly laid out so you had to serve hot food before getting to the cold stuff. As a result, the hot food was cold when it arrived at the table. The pizza slices were cold and dried out. The trays were poorly refilled so there were often empty trays so you had to ask for new ones to be placed. The desserts were not there at first, but later everything we had served was frozen. When we said something about this, it was said that it was ice cream cakes. Bavaoise and whipped cream puffs should not be frozen. The price and quality are not in proportion. And the drinks were not included in the package. Speaking of which, the mint leaves in the tea were turned black. We are very disappointed in this Easter brunch/lunch. It really ruined our party atmosphere. A shame because the location is very nice with the playground for the children. Unfortunately, we heard several people complaining and even saw people leaving before the buffet opened.

Went for dinner yesterday, delicious food and fantastic service!

After a nice Easter breakfast and a nice bike ride, we decided to have a coffee on the terrace and possibly have something for lunch. Upon arrival, we were kindly informed that the kitchen was only available for Easter brunch. We understood that of course and indicated that we only wanted to order a coffee. To our surprise, this was clearly not appreciated by the manager, who spoke to the staff in an unpleasant and loud manner. She said that a table “would not be occupied for just two coffees”. This came across as very unprofessional and made us feel completely unwelcome. We drank our coffee quickly, but then left immediately. Very unfortunate, because the location seemed promising. Unfortunately, this attitude means that we will not return here again.

I wouldn't even give 1 star. No service, and what a jerk of a manager. We arrive there, a table in the middle of the sun, which was nice for me, but not nice for my group, so we asked for another table. Wasn't there. Okay then asked three times if the parasol could be lowered. No, that was not possible. Finally, on the third occasion, the manager lowered the parasol. Okay then the order, I wanted a date but instead of bread and fries. Oh says the waitress, but that's just part of it. I argue with her, it's not on the menu. So she asks and comes back and says: yes, it's just part of it. The satay comes without fries and with bread. So I say, fries are included, oh, the young man says, then I'll go get this. He comes back: no, that's just part of dinner. Yes, that may be the case, but I asked for it very clearly. Then the manager came, I told my story, I pointed out that girl and then you would think: oh our mistake, it is not normally part of it, but we are now offering it. But no: this was it and then I had to order separately. I was so amazed that I did that. But seriously 23 euros for a satay with 3 pieces of baguette and then another 4.50 for a few fries. In retrospect, I should have left all that satay and gone to eat somewhere else. I live nearby but I will never spend a cent there again. Scandalous

Nice extension to the terrace, nice staff with attention and friendliness. A real atmosphere has yet to come, but it already looks nice. Some sharp contrast between black and white in the decoration.

Food (lunch in our case) is poor value for money. With these prices I expect fresh, quality bread; not two slices of old mediocre bread. The drinks were fine.

Unfortunately, the quality of the dinner has deteriorated significantly in the last six months. The friendliness and alertness of the staff is really great. The atmosphere is good but the food is far below standard. Too bad, it was one of our favorites.

It was so disappointing!!! While we were having drinks, people were sweeping and the manager was shouting. 2 types of music were played. Food was definitely not great! And if a complaint is made, the young waitresses have to arrange this themselves, no manager or chef will come to you to explain anything. Then pantries are restocked next to you when you are eating, and carts with crockery rattle past, such a shame!!! It's such a beautiful spot but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone

The restaurant is nicely decorated, but the food is really not good. I ordered a lamb burger and it was really dirty, dirty, dirty. For 19 euros you get a burger without salad and without fries. Here is really not recommended.

Had dinner last night. Slip soles were small and dry. Calamaris tasted like something else. Crème brulee was sent back because it was still frozen. Controls were often not available. The atmosphere in the restaurant is pleasant.

Had a vibrant party on Saturday evening in one of the halls with enough dance floor for 35 people. Service at the bar was top notch and friendly. And the DJ was great. Parking in front of the door.
