The food was ok, but some of the items were not as advertised. For example, the "homemade lemonade" is clearly made with concentrate and it's basically sugar with water. The service was terrible. We were waiving at someone to look over to us, and it took 5+ minutes until someone finally came over, only to forget our order so my partner had to go to the bar to order their drink directly there. For the price, I don't think I'm coming back

Wrap with chicken thigh was delicious! Also beautiful location, what a green surprise between The Hague and Rijswijk. Missed opportunities: -- Request for a glass of tap water with coffee was not possible. -- After showing interest in more information about the 'homemade strawberry lemonade' the waitress asked and then the feedback was "it is just homemade". Oops, at a beautiful location with good lunch dishes the customer friendliness and service are lagging considerably. Come on BTB, that must and can be better 💪 By the way, 'management' of Bijna Thuis, where are your reactions to the many critical reviews here?

Had my friends baby shower here. Kim and the manager on the day were amazing - they were very considerate and tried to accommodate our needs as much as possible. We enjoyed our high tea. ☕️ The restaurant is in a beautiful green area. Really amazing experience overall.

Last week we had our wedding party at 'Bijna Thuis' with our loved ones. The General & Event manager listened to all our wishes and added some extras (without extra costs). Great! When we entered, the room was beautifully decorated. We had a delicious meal and the staff was super friendly. We were allowed to put on our own music. And then there was the dessert. We had chosen small pastries. Delicious and served very chic. Really recommended for your parties! We had a fantastic day. Thank you!

We had made a reservation for a Saturday evening at 18:30. After ordering dinner at 19:00, we were told that they have been closing at 20:00 for 2 weeks. Advice: report this when making the reservation (by phone). Now our dinner with friends was very short. Food was generally good. Had a nice meal. Only the steak on the skewer was tough. The atmosphere gets few stars, because there were hardly any other guests besides us. Which is also logical if you close at 20:00.

In the past, I have celebrated several of my daughter's birthdays outside under 'the tent' to my complete satisfaction. However, new owners are making a mess of it; grumpy, surly and not hospitable. Food not what you would expect for that price, service slow.

Is owner Raymond van den Berg now reviewing his own business after a mountain of bad reviews after Easter? And do you happen to have several people who are enthusiastic and only have one review in their profile? The current owner has missed a turn somewhere. Almost Home is no longer what it was under the previous owner... an almost home.

Definitely a nice location! Unfortunately today, Sun April 28, ministry is lagging behind the facts. Drinks that come from 2 different places. Have lunch on time, but no cutlery. The 2nd drink also took a very long time. “Runner” walked around with our drinks, asking at each table… We were certainly not the only table with problems, people around us were asked several times how their drinks were going... And then the question whether my fellow table companion wanted ice in her wine... pff, where is any knowledge of wine... All in all, excellent food... but the service leaves much to be desired...

Not the best service: slow and moreover they clear away the first part of the glasses and just leave the rest.

Pokébowl with lots of ice cold clumps of rice, 2 ingredients were missing, lipstick on cup, vegetables weren't much. There was no recording of a second drink. I felt very sorry for the waitress, who also received a complaint from another table. By the way, I didn't see a chef to apologize for. So I didn't pay for the poke bowl.

Very bad service. No attention to the customer at all. Clearing empty plates takes (too) long. In addition, there is a lot of room for improvement in the kitchen: • Fatty pre-cooked and only reheated veal spare ribs. • Soggy slip sole without a fishing knife (“we don't have one”) or a plate for the bones. • €1 for a collapsed dollop of whipped cream with dessert. • Waiting half an hour for a dessert only to be told that the vanilla ice cream is gone. Anyway, enough points not to come here anymore.

Very mediocre to poor Easter brunch, little variety, lukewarm cappuccino. All drinks were on top of the price of 34.95 pp, which was more expensive than at Van der Valk, while the quality and diversity there are 100x better, but unfortunately they were full. To make matters worse, the guests were also put outside at uncovered wet tables!!!! Once but never again!!!!!

Easter brunch with the family. Dramatically bad buffet, service okay, live music okay. If you pay €550 for 12 people, you can only draw the conclusion that this is far, far below the level you can expect for this money. A mockery.

On Easter Monday, the brunch buffet was perfect, with everything catered for from young to old! Also wear gloves (kokin) but it was really welcome, but really below par, a mess!! No hospitality, dirty order on the floor, really very messy, no good communication at all, and the live music started very messily and also reverberated. The last half hour was good! Too bad it wasn't the singer's fault!!! Very good, the toilet was clean, the glasses were not cutlery either! Lots of stains on the wine glasses! Too bad the person who took my reservation was very professional! And also on weekends during crowds!!!

I was here at Easter, super cozy atmosphere, good service and a great brunch. The service was great! I will definitely come here again and recommend it to you.

Went for dinner yesterday, delicious food and fantastic service!

Easter Monday. We had made reservations for inside. Upon arrival it turned out that the restaurant was under renovation and we had to sit outside. We were not informed about this and not dressed for it so it was chilly. The children could look for Easter eggs, but children who arrived later no longer had Easter eggs, everything had already been collected by other children. The buffet was very awkwardly laid out. The entire restaurant went to get food at the same time, causing long lines. The ragout was on a completely different table than the ragout containers. The food was poorly laid out so you had to serve hot food before getting to the cold stuff. As a result, the hot food was cold when it arrived at the table. The pizza slices were cold and dried out. The trays were poorly refilled so there were often empty trays so you had to ask for new ones to be placed. The desserts were not there at first, but later everything we had served was frozen. When we said something about this, it was said that it was ice cream cakes. Bavaoise and whipped cream puffs should not be frozen. The price and quality are not in proportion. And the drinks were not included in the package. Speaking of which, the mint leaves in the tea were turned black. We are very disappointed in this Easter brunch/lunch. It really ruined our party atmosphere. A shame because the location is very nice with the playground for the children. Unfortunately, we heard several people complaining and even saw people leaving before the buffet opened.

After a nice Easter breakfast and a nice bike ride, we decided to have a coffee on the terrace and possibly have something for lunch. Upon arrival, we were kindly informed that the kitchen was only available for Easter brunch. We understood that of course and indicated that we only wanted to order a coffee. To our surprise, this was clearly not appreciated by the manager, who spoke to the staff in an unpleasant and loud manner. She said that a table “would not be occupied for just two coffees”. This came across as very unprofessional and made us feel completely unwelcome. We drank our coffee quickly, but then left immediately. Very unfortunate, because the location seemed promising. Unfortunately, this attitude means that we will not return here again.

People are so obscene here and they’re obsessed with weird things around the day,the service was so terrible i cried at night,and i couldn’t satisfy my wife after i ate there

It was the worst experience of my life.

I wouldn't even give 1 star. No service, and what a jerk of a manager. We arrive there, a table in the middle of the sun, which was nice for me, but not nice for my group, so we asked for another table. Wasn't there. Okay then asked three times if the parasol could be lowered. No, that was not possible. Finally, on the third occasion, the manager lowered the parasol. Okay then the order, I wanted a date but instead of bread and fries. Oh says the waitress, but that's just part of it. I argue with her, it's not on the menu. So she asks and comes back and says: yes, it's just part of it. The satay comes without fries and with bread. So I say, fries are included, oh, the young man says, then I'll go get this. He comes back: no, that's just part of dinner. Yes, that may be the case, but I asked for it very clearly. Then the manager came, I told my story, I pointed out that girl and then you would think: oh our mistake, it is not normally part of it, but we are now offering it. But no: this was it and then I had to order separately. I was so amazed that I did that. But seriously 23 euros for a satay with 3 pieces of baguette and then another 4.50 for a few fries. In retrospect, I should have left all that satay and gone to eat somewhere else. I live nearby but I will never spend a cent there again. Scandalous

Food (lunch in our case) is poor value for money. With these prices I expect fresh, quality bread; not two slices of old mediocre bread. The drinks were fine.

Unfortunately, the quality of the dinner has deteriorated significantly in the last six months. The friendliness and alertness of the staff is really great. The atmosphere is good but the food is far below standard. Too bad, it was one of our favorites.

It was so disappointing!!! While we were having drinks, people were sweeping and the manager was shouting. 2 types of music were played. Food was definitely not great! And if a complaint is made, the young waitresses have to arrange this themselves, no manager or chef will come to you to explain anything. Then pantries are restocked next to you when you are eating, and carts with crockery rattle past, such a shame!!! It's such a beautiful spot but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone

The restaurant is nicely decorated, but the food is really not good. I ordered a lamb burger and it was really dirty, dirty, dirty. For 19 euros you get a burger without salad and without fries. Here is really not recommended.

I had lunch there on March 4th. The service was good and smooth. The lunch menu ok. I ordered a tuna melt there. This one tasted good. That also applied to the coffee.

Had a vibrant party on Saturday evening in one of the halls with enough dance floor for 35 people. Service at the bar was top notch and friendly. And the DJ was great. Parking in front of the door.

Had dinner last night. Slip soles were small and dry. Calamaris tasted like something else. Crème brulee was sent back because it was still frozen. Controls were often not available. The atmosphere in the restaurant is pleasant.

At Brasserie Almost Home you really feel welcome. The atmosphere is relaxed, the service friendly and the food very tasty. A nice place to enjoy a good meal in a casual way. Definitely recommended if you are in the area or after a lovely walk in the forest! The hotel rooms are also great!

not everyone who worked there was friendly. Even though the room was empty, a lady assigned us to another table. The citizens and potatoes were cold and dry for a price of around 60 euros we would have expected more. Even McDonald's and Citizen King could have done better.

The food in this restaurant was disgusting. On February 14 we were offered a four course dinner, but after waiting more than an hour for the food we decided to leave as only two of the four dishes were served. The taste of the dishes suggested that they were cheap frozen meals that had been heated in the microwave. I definitely don't recommend this restaurant if you are looking for good and fast food.

Dog not welcome is a big negative for me and not worth repeating. Especially for a location in the woods. Had to wait a long time before being served. No Rose and sweet wine in the house For dessert we had coffee and tea, 1 person ice cream without whipped cream. Everyone had already finished their coffee and then the ice cream came with whipped cream. Salmon comes without vegetables or anything, so order it separately. The food was also good and the staff was friendly and helpful

The service was very slow, the food was alright, but a bit low quality for the price. The menu options were quite extensive, so they got that going. The atmosphere and vibe was cute, but the slow service, even after asking about where our food was, was below standard. We also got served a dirty glass and two glasses with a crack in them with our drinks (which luckily didn't leek but it was still a bit odd) Sadly not a great experience.

Really, if dogs are no longer welcome, put that on your website. Drove two hours for a Christmas lunch with family and were not allowed inside. (Always before). Just drop dead. Never again with or without a dog.

It was a very pleasant party in a nice room, with great service, especially Priscilla who also had time to entertain little girls between servings. Ate here with a group of 6 people. The restaurant has a nice location and is nicely decorated. However, the staff is miserable. They were just talking to each other. We only got attention when I started waving. When I ordered another wine she wanted to put it in the same glass, when the dishes arrived we had to ask for plates that were not there. The table was dirty and when we asked for a cloth, not everything was wiped and we were still left with a dirty table. The food was okay. The chef had added red peppers to every dish (and we had a lot because of sharing dining). Nice for the color on your plate, but certainly not good for the taste. When we left, 4 colleagues were standing at the bar and no one said hello to us, let alone took our coats from the cloakroom. No, we felt anything but welcome. Staff ensures that a beautiful restaurant like this is destroyed.

Beautiful restaurant and spacious layout. Convenient with parking. Friendly welcome. Unfortunately the experience afterwards was not too good. The service was really appalling. I understand that if you have a large group with children, these are not your favorite tables. But the intention to spend well was there. It's a shame that this was not used optimally. A lot of staff, but ordering a second or third drink was difficult. The same went for dessert. You have to pursue it yourself. Waste of turnover. A bowl of hot water to warm a baby bottle was supposedly not possible. The changeable tap was Affligem blond, you were then served it from a bottle. A bottle of water was served without glasses. And when we said goodbye (7:30 PM) the staff was already chatting with each other and no one bothered to say hello or answer our farewell greeting. The main courses were fine, not particularly culinary, but not bad either. The ribeye was served slightly overcooked. Sludge tongue good. I would skip the desserts. Pay €12.50 for mini frozen cakes. They were also served frozen at the table. Rock hard.

The shrimp were very tasty, but the burger unfortunately wasn't small and wasn't tasty. The staff very friendly and pleasant atmosphere.

Upon arrival on Friday evening, no one was present at Hotel Hoevenvoorde. Enter through the brasserie. Eventually someone came and checked us in. After payment.

I come here often, so time for a review of all those times. Dietary requirements are sufficiently taken into account. Vegetarian, vegan, lactose, gluten, there is an alternative for everything. Despite today's hustle and bustle, the staff was friendly and attentive! I read less positive reviews of Almost Home, but I have not had that experience so far. I did see and hear rude customers 🤭 A matter of experiencing it yourself.. I guess

Had cappuccino and ginger tea. Cappuccino was lukewarm and no cookie or something was served with it. Pricey for these two drinks...!

Definitely recommended! The restaurant has very pleasant service. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere inside and if the weather is nice you can also sit outside. There is a playground and chicken coop outside, making it fun to go with children. We also had a delicious high tea with the family and they used vintage tableware, which really completes it.

Just had a delicious lunch at Brasserie Almost Thuis, and left the location very satisfied! The food was great and I didn't have to wait long, definitely recommended if you want to relax in a wooded area, they also have a very nice chicken coop with chickens running around in it, which is also great for children!
