We had a delicious meal and the service was very attentive, pleasant and efficient. Keep this in mind if you go to Carré.

We had a wonderful evening. A lovely, intimate atmosphere, very friendly staff, and the food was delicious and refined. Highly recommended, and we'd love to come back again and definitely try the desserts, which we unfortunately didn't have time for this time. A culinary gem in Amsterdam! We had a wonderful meal before a show at Carré. The service was very friendly and attentive to the guests. The food was delicious: the flavors and textures blended beautifully, sometimes with a surprising twist (like the tête de moine with pear). Even a simple salad was exceptionally good. The fish of the day (ray) and the ribeye are highly recommended. It's a small space, and when it's packed, it's a bit difficult to hear each other. The chairs are a bit hard, but these are two minor issues that barely affected our fantastic evening with delicious food.

Before visiting Carré, we had a delicious meal at Bistro Baret, with excellent steaks and a tasty rosefish fillet. They're very accommodating when you need to leave on time. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

The overhaul was Mmm..., looking at the reviews we expected better. We had a booking for 8pm and tried to order the only two sides available in the menu fries and asparagus. Never the less only one was available so we ordered a starter as a side, tomato salad and it didn't taste good, it tasted like fish even though it didn't have any in the menu and the taste wasn't good. Salad was too salty. The rest was fine The service and staff were really nice.

Right from the entrance, you'll receive the attention you crave if you're looking for a quick dinner before attending a theater. The menu is excellent, with plenty of classics, and the fish of the day (ray wing) is truly delicious. The side dishes are also very tasty. Highly recommended!

Had a pre theatre dinner here this evening. Welcomed by lovely friendly staff who had our name on arrival (simple touch but a nice one). Had a really nice meal. Sharing steak for 2 cooked perfectly washed down with beautiful wine. Its a lovely restaurant, very cosy with great atmosphere. Well worth a visit if in Amsterdam.

Everything was great, from the friendly service to the beautiful setting! There were four of us friends, and we shared two ravioli and two steak barlets, all excellent and arriving at the table already divided from the kitchen, and served correctly: first the pasta and only then the meat, as it should be!

A lovely bistro around the corner from Carré. I popped in for a bite to eat by myself before a show. Because of that, I felt a bit overlooked, but everyone else arrived at the same time, so larger groups often get priority. All in all, the food arrived quickly, the service was good, and my steak Baret was deliciously tender! Definitely worth going back.

Excellent restaurant, the service was attentive and all the dishes were delicious. A favorite were the starters, which were a surprise with every bite. The asparagus was tasty. Only the fries could be improved (or perhaps replaced with mashed potatoes?)

A great little place to sit and have a wonderful meal. Charming atmosphere and very friendly wait staff. The food was perfect, flavorful and large portions. The octopus salad had great texture to the octopus, it was creamy and not rubbery. The warm beer salad also had great flavors to it. The only downside to the place was the lack of sound absorption. Once it got full, and it did, it was hard to hear your company across the table. Otherwise a perfect place for an elegant meal. Will certainly be going again!

It's a regular stop when we go to Carré, and it's never disappointed. Every time, we're surprised by the delicious dishes, the cozy atmosphere, and the friendly service.

Super nice, small restaurant with great French food

On Wednesday, October 8th, we went to Carré, and beforehand, we had dinner at Bistro Baret. You can indicate in advance that you're going to Carré, and the staff will accommodate you. The menu is well-organized, with several starters, such as the shrimp croquettes, which we really enjoyed. For the main courses, you have a choice of meat, fish, and vegetarian. We had the steak Baret, redfish fillet, and a fish special, which this time was a skate wing. We also had green asparagus and fries as side dishes. For dessert, we had strawberries with cheesecake mousse and a plate cake. In my opinion, the cheesecake mousse with the strawberries had little to do with cheesecake. I also couldn't really taste the cardamom syrup. Other than that, the other dishes were tasty and the portions were good. The staff is very friendly. One thing we were disappointed with was that when the main course was served, we had to ask twice for our drinks before they were brought. We also felt that the breaks between courses were a bit too long for our liking. Will that stop us from visiting Bistro Baret again? I don't think so. It's a cozy place with delicious food. Tip for those who get cold easily: The seats at the back of the restaurant are a bit warmer than those at the front.

Despite arriving late due to traffic and having only a short window before our show at Carré, the staff went above and beyond to serve us a fantastic meal in under 30 minutes. Their efficiency and hospitality were truly impressive. Absolutely amazing place—highly recommended!

We took an Uber to the restaurant. We chose it based on Google reviews and because it said it was open at 8 p.m. on Sundays, but when we arrived, it was closed.

We were recommended this restaurant because of its location near Carré. We chose the oysters and the shrimp croquettes, which were delicious. Then we had the skate wing and the turbot, which were fresh and truly excellent. The service was friendly and charming. This was a truly delicious dinner. The Pouilly fumé topped it off.

Attentive staff, pleasantly busy theater shift. Delicious food, beautifully presented. Top-notch cuisine. The table is a bit small, so when setting down a wine glass, be careful not to place it on anything else (cutlery, napkin, etc.). Sitting near a bean-to-cup coffee machine is never pleasant. It's a shame there's no solution for this yet. After washing my hands after using the toilet, I'm deafened by the noise of the fan; it could be quieter. The memories of the delicious food and the informal, pleasant atmosphere will remain.

A group of seven enjoyed a delicious meal after our afternoon show at Carré. The service was great, fast (but not too fast). And it was literally just around the corner from Carré. We were half an hour early, but that wasn't a problem at all. The price was very reasonable: three a la carte courses, drinks, and coffee for €70 per person. Where else in Amsterdam can you find something like this? Highly recommended.

It's a really nice, friendly place. The balance between a cold storm and comfortable air conditioning is a bit tricky. But they're working hard to achieve that. The food is delicious and the service is great. Large groups seem difficult because of the poor acoustics.

What a charming bistro! At first, we thought, "Where have we ended up?" The location is in an alley, and the terrace is on the sidewalk by the water. However, the service was incredibly friendly and kind, and the food was delicious and unlike anything you'd find everywhere. The only downside was the dessert. We ordered the strawberry cheesecake crumble, which turned out to be just strawberries with whipped cream (for €10). Otherwise, it was fantastic!

Very bad experience. Even though the restaurant was posted as open, and we were even able to make a reservation, we were met with a closed door. The restaurant was closed, without any notice. It's very disappointing.

Me and my family came in for a late dinner and were warmly welcomed by the staff. The meal was excellent—especially the fish of the day and the ribeye for two, which were both absolutely delicious.

Amazing place, great vibes, delicious food

We sat outside in view of the church which was fantastic! Views and city life were in full swing which was nice. Food seemed not as diverse or traditional as I would’ve liked. Probably could get a better meal elsewhere, but the location made up for it, perfect for a good day in the city.

What a gem, this little restaurant, literally around the corner from Carré. Get in the mood for the show with an aperitif outside in the sun, with a view of the artist entrance. Delicious food, quickly on the table (even though we all had something different). Personal, warm service. Nice atmosphere. The music was immediately turned down at our request. Pleasantly quiet in terms of sound, but that may be different if it is full (the group table was only reserved for later in the evening yesterday) We will definitely come back here!

The food was incredibly tasty. I really liked the steak, it was perfectly fried and the butter with herbs only complemented its taste. also the mussels came with a delicious broth.
