A truly delicious meal with excellent wine!

I often eat here and it is always very tasty, but chef Sjoerd Visser was very busy yesterday. As a starter, marinated sardine with salsa verde, samphire and potatoes. Wonderful combination of salt and sour, soft and crispy. Then a completely different fish dish: lemon sole fillet with dill, cucumber and peas - wonderfully round, mild taste. An excellent white Cote de Gascogne. For dessert a scandalously delicious cherry pie with chocolate and almond ice cream, and a glass of red port. Top service by Meis. And that for a very reasonable price!

Restaurant Apostrophe; a hidden gem in Amsterdam? Every now and then, on the way home, we don't feel like getting stuck in traffic and we spontaneously look for a nice restaurant. This time we ended up at Apostrophe, a nice little bistro in Planciusstraat. It was a Thursday evening, normally a busy evening, but when we arrived we noticed that we were the only guests. Had we made the right choice? Some more guests entered, but it was not full. And that's a shame because this restaurant deserves better. We had a delicious meal! We chose the four-course menu and the most delicious French dishes were presented; we ate pate de campaign with pumpkin chutney and sweet and sour onion, marinated mackerel with tabbouleh and tzatziki, roasted beetroot with goat cheese cream and radish. As a main course we ate the Confit de canard with lentils, turnip and palm cabbage and the lamb shoulder and rack with white beans, wild garlic and zucchini. And for dessert we had poached pear with walnut and Roquefort ice cream. All delicious dishes, with good taste and preparation! The menu is very flexible and each dish can be ordered as a starter or main course. We were cautious about the wine, we still had to go home, but they were also delicious! Perhaps the location, outside the center, does not help, but we did find it nice to be able to park the car close by. In addition, bread and water are included, something that I also find very nice in a good restaurant. This is definitely recommended and we will eat there again often!

Geweldig 5 gangen diner... super genoten van ieder gerecht ! attente bediening en je wordt enorm gewaardeerd als gast. Restaurant ligt een beetje afgelegen in het centrum maar is zeker de moeite waard... eindelijk een restaurant waar het eten de prijs echt waard is! Kan iedereen aanbevelen het restaurant te bezoeken en te genieten ! echte aanrader!

Merkwaardige ervaring. Eten was niet smaakvol en men begon om half tien al op te ruimen. Bij binnenkomst niet verwelkomd en we zijn maar gewoon vertrokken.

Excellent and adventurous French cruise. We had the Easter fixed menu which was varied and delicious. The amuse bouche was a delightful surprise. The trout with beetroot three ways was a delight. Then the lamb neck which fell apart in our forks - delicious. Ending with a lemon merengue which made me feel like I was back at home. All paired with recommended wines at reasonable prices. They accommodated well for nut preferences and pregnancy. All at €100 for two people. Fantastic

Top classic French food with a good drinks menu and very reasonably priced, especially when you look at the quality of the food. Recommended!

Main course a bit too simple. Was delicious

Very tasty French-Mediterranean food. The dishes are classic but also surprising; Lately, for example, the chef has been combining fish and legumes, which turns out to be unexpectedly tasty. Since I live in the area I come here often, and the food is always really good. There is also something to choose from for vegetarians. Fine wine list. Pleasant service. Food allergies are handled very well. Highly recommended.

Heel erg lekker Frans-Mediterraan eten. De gerechten zijn klassiek maar ook verrassend; de laatste tijd combineert de kok bijvoorbeeld vis en peulvruchten, wat onverwacht lekker blijkt te zijn. Sinds ik hier in de buurt woon kom ik hier vaak, en het eten is altijd echt goed. Ook voor vegetariërs vat er wat te kiezen. Fijne wijnkaart. Prettige bediening. Met voedselallergieën wordt heel goed omgegaan. Echt een aanrader.

This is kind of a "Hidden Gem" very centrally situated nice cosy restaurant. Not in a main street, so you have to know it. This restaurant offers a true quality of fine European food. Perfect for just a main course or try their menu's !! This is one of my restaurants I visit often. Damn delicious !!!

A real gem. Handily located near Haarlemmerplein, the menu combines a broad variety of ingredients with the highest culinary standards. The red snapper bouillabaisse lingered on my palette, whilst the frisee with poached egg and diced bacon was creamy and dreamy. Accompanied by carefully paired French wines, it was a winning combination.

The food is alright, but this place is a bit overrated, and I have to admit we were disappointed. The food has potential, but it lacked salt, making it a bit plain. The portions are generous, I would say too generous. The smallest menu, three courses, was more than enough for us. The cremant was good, but other than that the wines were also quite plain.

Wow, what a pleasant surprise this was! We had a 3 course menu and some drinks. Everything from beginning to end was excellent. There were some really interesting combinations in each course, fresh ingredients and very well cooked! Service was also amazing! Prices were very reasonable for the quality of food (about 42 or so p.p for 3 courses) . I wish more places in Amsterdam were at the level that apostrof is. Hats off 👏 🙌 👌

Geen hippe plek misschien, maar fantastisch eten, een originele kaart, bescheiden prijzen. De amuses vooraf en de friandises bij de koffie zijn ook allemaal huisgemaakt, kortom, je ziet dat hier mensen werken met een hart voor de zaak. Ga erheen, ze zullen je niet teleurstellen.

Heerlijk gegeten in een mooie sfeer. Alle 5 de gangen waren voortreffelijk en goed te combineren met passende wijnkeuzes.

Waanzinnig lekker eten (sterren restaurant waardig) maar dan met een heel fijne relaxte sfeer. Kaart wisselt steeds. Absolute verborgen parel.

Très bonne table , entrée pâté de campagne , puis un bar ( poisson) sauce très bonne , puis une tarte tatin . Bref très bon . Il faut réserver .

Great food and restaurant looks cosy from the inside! Also service was good. My suggestion for improvements; alcohol free drinks such as a seedlip + tonic or other mocktail, as well as system that automatically closes the door. It is annoying to stand up multiple times to close the door during diner as other leaving guest did not close it (still don’t understand why so many people do that).

Fantastisch lekker eten! Tegelijkertijd klassiek en verrassend. Nog steeds vernieuwend. Elke keer weer! Mijn tip: probeer iets wat je normaal niet zou kiezen. Je zult versteld staan hoe onverwacht lekker het is! Heel goed te bereiken met de auto en parkeren voor de deur, in de straat. Maar ook goed bereikbaar met het OV. Wat dit restaurant onderscheidt van veel anderen is dat je er niet alleen eet, maar dat je voor extra's niet betaalt. De appetizers, het water (stil en bruisend) en het stokbrood, allemaal bij de menuprijs inbegrepen. Zo hoort dat! En tenslotte, je kunt eten op het terras. Deze week gedaan met het warme weer.

Quirky excellent fine dining in an unexpected location. Restaurant apostrof — I passed it a 100 times but somehow the exterior did not scream fine dining at me, even though it is. Had a wonderful 4 course dinner with wine pairing and will continue to remain confused by the interior which is half bistro and half ikea but not in a hipster-on-purpose kind of way. Paar with Roquefort icecream was a highlight. 4 courses go for 51 euros, very reasonable bit more with wine pairings! Highly recommend

Heerlijk gegeten, de asperges waren helemaal perfect. En de toetjes kreeg onze tafel met 12 luidruchtige dames compleet stil.

Quiet restaurant with friendly staff and subtle quality food.

Wij waren echt onder de indruk van de kwaliteit van het eten (en drinken). Het restaurant valt niet echt op en ligt net wat uit het centrum maar absoluut de moeite waard om heen te gaan. Het eten is echt van zeer hoge kwaliteit en perfect op elkaar afgestemd. Een echte aanrader!

Chouette expérience avec un menu varié et des assiettes bien présentées. Dur de faire un choix, on a envie de tout goûter, heureusement, le concept de choix de services permet de faire une vaste découverte de ce qui est proposé. Plein de saveurs et de textures différentes dans une assiette, tout en proposant des produits simples bien présentés.

Had an excellent dinner here yesterday. We're able to secure a spot in the sun quite last minute. Owner very friendly but a bit reserved. Food was excellent and we'll priced. Will definitely come back.

Toprestaurant, goed uitgebalanceerde complete (kleine) gerechten. Durf je te laten verrassen, alles smaakt. Klassiek Franse basis, maar licht. Leent zich voor zowel 'snel' 3 gangen als avondvullend meerdere gangen. Goede keus in wijnen per glas. Heel redelijk geprijsd. Omfietser.
