Bistro De Cactus in Wijk 01 Doetinchem Centrum

We had another delicious meal at De Cactus last Friday, highly recommended. Delicious food, excellent service, and friendly staff. It's a shame we can't give it 10 stars. 👍🏻👍🏻

I regularly visit Doetinchem for a bite to eat. I hadn't heard of De Cactus before. But what a lovely bistro it is! It's not very big, and the tables are close together, but that doesn't detract from the ambiance. The food is also excellent, and you won't go home hungry. And a bit of nostalgia: the apple salad tastes similar to a restaurant in Doetinchem I used to go to with my family. Anyway, it's simply an excellent place to enjoy a relaxed and enjoyable evening.

Our children gave us a gift certificate. We had a wonderful meal that evening, a tasting of appetizers that was exquisite, especially the goulash soup and the pork belly. The main course was also delicious. The service was very friendly and engaging in a bit of banter! We will definitely be back. Thank you!

Goede bediening en fijne sfeer. Ook als vegetariër kun je hier heerlijk eten: Ik had als voorgerecht de Bruchetta en als hoofdgerecht de Paddenstoelensteak. Beiden bijzonder smaakvol! We komen zeker terug.

Tonight at Bistro De Cactus I had a starter (celeriac soup with truffle), a main course (tender pork tenderloin with mushroom sauce, apple compote, hot and cold vegetables plus fries with creamy mayonnaise) and coffee (with chocolate!). During the meal I drank a bottle of still water. All in all I only had to pay €38 for this. That was not too bad for me, considering the quality, quantity and the smooth and friendly service. What De Cactus is doing with this is actually an economic crime, because you will definitely come back here to spend money again, you take people with you and you recommend De Cactus. I am considering reporting. ;-)

Great good meat, hospitable staff and nice setting

Small but nice and attractive restaurant. Reservations are strongly recommended because even on an average Thursday evening it is packed. And that's not without reason. Delicious steaks for a very acceptable price and pleasant service in the bargain.

It must be said that the food was delicious. It is a pity that 3 rather small bowls of vegetables are served for 4 people and that if you order (very limited) you will immediately find this on the bill. Too bad and very bad service; if what you immediately get was a huge amount, but that was not the case. So we kept the tip in our pocket.

Delicious food, friendly service. Almost completely perfect. One point for improvement: With a full menu (3 courses and wine), you also expect sufficient accompaniments (fries, salad and vegetables). Average restaurant with reasonable food. Location and atmosphere not special. Good service and handling. Quite pricey in relation to quality level and portion size. Some things freshly prepared, most things not freshly prepared. The sauces (pepper and garlic) tasted the same as the standard (knorr) sauces from the supermarket. Side dishes were mediocre: chicory wet and stringy, fruit in liquid had little taste. Fries served with fries and herbs (you have to like them), no mayo. Mixed grill seemed a bit small (menu indicated 300g). Beef and steak well cooked and tasty. Pork tenderloin was overcooked and a bit dry. Red wine okay. The restaurant is quite noisy and hollow, which makes talking and listening difficult. Average visitors of higher age.

These people get it. Tasty food for a good price. Relaxed atmosphere. Service knows when to be at your table. But also when not. You can see the catering feeling here. Food is perfect and the meat cooked as you requested. One of the best things, whether or not the best in Doetinchem in my eyes! Tip: book on time.

We have been here a number of times now and in our opinion this is the best restaurant in Doetinchem. I had the cactus steak and asked for it medium rare and it really shouldn't have been on the grill a second longer or shorter: perfectly medium rare. Also more than sufficient in quantity with the side dishes (which you do not have to order extra). The service is friendly and because it is a relatively small restaurant, the atmosphere is cozy. A nice limited menu with something for everyone. We will definitely keep coming back here.

Dat je in Doetinchem bent voor een wedstrijd van De Graafschap en vooraf iets wil eten: De Cactus dus! Zelden zo een lekkere varkenshaas gegeten. Toplocatie, met een gezellig terras. Tel daarbij op de voorkomende en accurate bediening en je zit gebeiteld.

Kleine bistro in DE horecastraat van Doetinchem - de Grutstraat. Bediening is vlot en vriendelijk en de prijs/kwaliteit is echt goed. Interieur is no nonsens, maar heerlijk gegeten. Proeverij van voorgerechten (stukje buikspek, carpaccio uit een glas, bospaddenstoelensoepje, crostini met gerookte zalm) en een lekker scholfiletje als hoofdgerecht. Met een fijn glas Verdejo erbij.

Het was weer geweldig! 😍 Als je mij vraagt waar je lekker kunt eten in Doetinchem, dan is dat bij De Cactus. En het is gewoon altijd goed! Ik ben er nog nooit teleurgesteld. Mijn favoriete gerecht is de knoflooksteak. Kwaliteit van het eten is ontzettend goed, en de koks weten hoe ze vlees moeten bereiden 👌🏻. Een absolute aanrader. Leuk en vriendelijk personeel en een sfeervol restaurant.

Leuk knus bistro, goed eten, goede bediening

Lekker. Heerlijk voorgerecht, vitello tonato. Heerlijk hoofdgerecht, knoflooksteak. Heerlijke bijgerechten vooral de appeltjes in vanillesaus met pisang ambon erin. Aanrader.

Gezellige ambiance, niet al te groot, waardoor het huiselijk aanvoelt. Eten was erg goed, kaart had veel keuzes, voor ieder wat wils. Klein minpuntje, het ging erg snel, vooral het desert kwam nog geen 5 minuten nadat we het besteld hadden. We waren zelf vergeten om aan te geven dat er wel wat tijd tussen de gerechten mocht zitten.

Dinerbox afgedaald om zelf thuis een valentijnsdiner te bereiden. De inhoud van de box was eenvoudig zelf te bereiden. De bereiding was goed omschreven en er zat voldoende in de box voor een overheerlijk valentijnsdiner. Het grand desert wat we ook besteld hadden was ook heerlijk.
