Bistro De Kruidentuin in Wijk 03 Geesteren

Het voorgerecht, een gemengde mix, smaakte prima en was een goed begin van de avond. Ook de bediening was vriendelijk en behulpzaam, daar lag het zeker niet aan. Toch viel het hoofdgerecht erg tegen. De friet was koud en keihard, alsof je op oude paprikastokjes kauwde. De lamskoteletten waren aangebakken en zwart, waardoor de smaak verloren ging. Het saladebakje erbij was heel klein en zonder extra’s. We hebben dit ook netjes bij de bediening gemeld. Voor een restaurant met deze naam en reputatie hadden we echt een stuk meer verwacht. Bijgevoegd een foto van het bakje lamskoteletten dat we hebben meegenomen voor de hond. Wat vindt u zelf van de kleur?

Mooie zaak. Vlees was goed. Maar de friet! Wat een rotzooi! Hard en glazig.... Het leek wel of het in oude olie was gebakken. Klachten daarover vielen heel slecht bij de man in de bediening. Hij keek heel geïrriteerd, alsof hij geen tegenspraak duldde. Hij bracht een nieuw schaaltje en die was nóg slechter, kon gelijk retour! En op vier personen een klein schaaltje groente. Dat krijg je ook wanneer je met z'n tweeën eet. Zo pakken ze toch weer wat extra geld..... Waar is echt goede horeca gebleven? Ze klagen allemaal maar je wordt voor de gek gehouden waar je bij staat! Voor ons was dit eenmalig.

Vandaag voor het eerst bij dit restaurant gegeten en het was van begin tot eind genieten. Bij binnenkomst werden we meteen verrast door het sfeervolle interieur – een echt wow-moment. De bediening was bijzonder attent en vriendelijk, wat meteen voor een warm welkom zorgde. Het voorgerecht was erg lekker en perfect op smaak. Het hoofdgerecht was precies goed bereid: sappig, mals en perfect gegrild. Ook de hoeveelheid was precies goed. Zelfs het dessert was fantastisch en een heerlijke afsluiter van de avond. De cocktail had voor mij iets minder ijs mogen bevatten, maar dat is een klein detail in een verder perfecte avond. We komen hier zeker nog eens terug!

Voor mijn verjaardag wezen eten, voorgerecht was super ! Had me erg verheugd op de biefstuk die de vorige keer echt heerlijk was maar nu enorm tegenviel. Rauwkost was zuur en tafels staan wel heel dicht op elkaar. Als je een luxe restaurant wilt zijn met daarbij behorende prijzen moet je niet alle tafels zo dicht bij elkaar zetten.

Lekkergegeten maar niet bijzonder. Prima bediening, teleurgesteld mbt de prijs, het is echt een te hoge prijs voor wat je krijgt.

During that period we were asked remarkably often if we wanted extra drinks. That struck me as if it was a strategy rather than another goal. The food itself was good and the staff friendly. In my opinion, the time between dishes and portion size could be improved, but that is also personal.

Went out for dinner with a whole group of colleagues. Nice place at a large round table. Due to pregnancy there are considerably fewer food options. Very unfortunate, I miss a "fresher" starter. E.g. a nice citrus buratta salad or something with chicken. The mustard soup was beautifully served in terms of tableware, but is very ordinary in taste. Lacks spice. The bacon was already a bit soft because it was already in the soup, so certainly not "crispy". All in all simple. As a main course I chose the grilled pork tenderloin, not grilled pink. That wish was taken a little too literally, resulting in a dry piece of meat. In terms of portion size, great! The sauce also lacked some spice. Side dishes were sufficient. Other options on the menu certainly seemed tasty, albeit "heavy". It could be a bit lighter and fresher. Unfortunately no highlight this time.

Well, we are probably one of the few who think "okay, we don't have to go here anymore after 1 experience. It looks beautiful inside! But... we still got a bit of a "food barn" experience. Tables too close together. Ordered food and it was on the table in no time shortly after we arrived. The fish was fine, the mixed grill was much too peppery. Too bad. Then dessert. Also in no time. In short, about an hour and a half after When we arrived, we were standing outside again, with a "peppery" bill in addition to the mixed grill. But as far as we were concerned, the feeling of "pleasant quiet enjoyment and a nice dinner" was not there anymore. But we don't have to go here anymore!

Last night I celebrated my birthday at Bistro Kruidentuin and I would like to express my thanks for the excellent service. What a wonderful experience at Bistro De Kruidentuin! The ambiance is warm and atmospheric, with a cozy interior that immediately gives a relaxed feeling. The tournedos was perfectly prepared, wonderfully tender and full of flavor. But the absolute highlight was the dessert: the white chocolate bomb. Magical to see and a taste sensation to taste! Highly recommended for a culinary evening out.

Wat hebben wij genoten! Een prachtige ambiance, super vriendelijk personeel en heerlijk eten! Het was druk die avond zeiden ze zelf, toen we vroegen hoeveel mensen er konden eten. Eigenlijk hebben we daar, behalve de gezellige drukte, niets van gemerkt. Het jeugdige personeel rent zich de benen uit het lijf en ze zijn allemaal even vriendelijk!

Zaterdagavond, trek gekregen na een lange fietstocht. Bij binnenkomst compleet genegeerd. Uiteindelijk weer vertrouwd naar Ribhous Texas gegaan, waar we enthousiast ontvangen werden. Als het mogelijk is om 0 sterren te geven hadden we dat gedaan. De Kruidentuin blijkt een gemiste kans te zijn…

What a great restaurant!! Delicious food, large portions, friendly service, cozy atmosphere. The appetizer (Sushi roll and Steak tartare) was delicious and you could hardly call it an appetizer, the portions were so large. The meat of the main course was really tender and perfectly cooked. The dessert (Hot love, chocolate cake) was really delicious! The center of the cake was still nice and liquid and the ice cream completed the dessert nicely. We also had a delicious cup of coffee, with which we could even choose a delicious chocolate. I've also seen that in other restaurants, but then you pay for that receipt. Not now, he was having coffee, what service! Even during the meal, the staff regularly asks whether everything is to your liking and whether you need another drink. In short, a restaurant where we will definitely come back again!!

I heard quite often that this must be something special, so I reserved and went there with another couple with reservations... quite a drive from Enschede. Once we arrived, the restaurant looked nice. Reception was okay. Service was very businesslike and minimal with few words. I was quite disappointed with the food (not worth the drive) carpaccio had already dried up on the plate along the edges. Ribeye is supposed to be a little greasy but this one had more greasy than anything else. All in all it wasn't great and my expectations were too high. I like Kir Royal better.

You get the feeling that you are entering the lobby of a luxurious hotel (with the associated prices). But that is not the case. The prices are those of an average restaurant. But the atmosphere that is created suggests otherwise. So a lot of luxury for an average price. I was pleasantly surprised. I recommend always reserving a spot. We went on Thursday evening. But there were no seats left at 7 p.m. Staff is friendly, food is delicious and service is good. In our case it took quite a while before we could start the main course. But given the many guests at that time, I can imagine that. More than a great restaurant. Definitely recommended.

We should have stopped there, but we had half an hour left before the movie in Almelo and decided to have dessert. We never do otherwise. It was already difficult to choose on the menu. Not because it seemed so challenging, but more because it has to be done. I had the 5 thing tasting. They were 5 sweet things of different textures. Nothing special. My wife had the warm cake with 3 stray pieces of cherry and scoop of ice cream on top. We left this at half. Tasteless. Mealy. Too bad because we don't like throwing away food. Waitress acted in disbelief. Try it yourself. When paying at the check-out counter (yes, it is that big and efficient), she reported that she had passed it on to the kitchen. They should have taken it off the bill. A cup of coffee with a good chocolate would have been better, but that wasn't available. Or cheese board. In short. It's not a dessert restaurant. We'll be back. Certainly. Delicious piece of meat. Who knows, maybe someone from culinary school will see the benefits of a good dessert menu.

Even though we had reserved a table well in advance, we still had to wait half an hour in the unpleasant lobby and we were initially put at an unpleasant reserve table next to the dining area. After we posted a comment about this, we were still allowed to at a table in the restaurant. Food was delicious but service sloppy, slow and very rushed. For this price you cannot expect that. Next time we will go to Hertme's Ambacht again.

Arrived on Friday evening, it was full but pleasantly busy. As a starter we had the sushi and mushrooms. These were fine. Main course lobster and truffle pasta. The lobster was dry and tough unfortunately, and the risotto that accompanied it was not tasty either. The truffle pasta was also not a truffle pasta in taste. By the way, there were whole cloves of garlic in it, which was not tasty. We asked for a glass of water for the wine and it was not served. By the way, it is a very nice tent to sit in, but the food was disappointing. Not worth repeating.

We came here for the 1st time on a Thursday evening. It was pleasantly busy. A beautiful restaurant, very attractively decorated. The waitress immediately came to ask if we wanted something to drink. Even then we didn't have to wait long for the food. There was always just enough time between the various courses. The wine was good, the food was also very tasty and after dinner a delicious cup of cappuccino with a delicious chocolate. The service was really very friendly. We were regularly asked if everything was satisfactory. It was a very successful evening for us, we had a very tasty meal and we will definitely do it again!

Recently visited with a large group of 140 people. Separate room upstairs. With smoking area on adjacent covered terrace. Toilets (very nice and clean) also upstairs. The food was as expected (again) excellent... it was buffet cold and hot. Service top... The staff looks pleasant and is extremely friendly and is happy to go the extra mile for you as a customer.

We had made a reservation at 8:15 PM, it was packed, but that shouldn't spoil the fun, we had to wait a while, no problem, but I think waiting half an hour before you could sit at your table is very long. Wederom super lekker gegeten in dit prachtige restaurant. (Gratis) vers en warm breekbrood met smeersels, als voorgerecht nam ik de beef tataki. Hoofdgerecht neusje van de zalm en tot slot een grand dessert XL. Tussendoor heerlijke amuses gekregen. Dit alles onder het genot van een prima chardonny. De tafelgenoten waren leuk en voordat we het wisten waren we drie uur verder in de tijd. De bediening is vriendelijk, deskundig en ze lopen zo relaxed door het restaurant terwijl het behoorlijk druk was qua gasten. Door de prima akoestiek had ik geen last van andere gasten. Altijd een feestje om hier te eten.

Er werd een kind meermaals op een pot gezet in het restaurant, mijn eetlust was over. Er werd geen actie ondernomen n.a.v. mijn klachten hierover. Gaf het 3x aan bij het personeel. Eigenaar beweerde zelfs na afloop dat hij van niks wist en nu niks meer kon doen omdat de (in zijn ogen ook betalende klanten) inmiddels weg waren. Meer dan schandalig dit…! Kreeg wel mijn hoofdgerecht vergoed, omdat ik het gewoon niet door mijn keel kreeg door de hele avond naar een plassend en poepend kind te moeten kijken. Het stel naast ons wisselde al van plek zodat mevrouw er niet naar hoefde te kijken.

With such volumes it is of course a challenge to keep the pace and accuracy of the process - cheers - but the risotto and sauces are not suitable for waiting under the warming lamp. We got a lot of delicious food with the high beer and high wine. You don't have to have dinner at home beforehand. The wine drinkers received an explanation about the wines, but unfortunately the beer drinkers did not. Another reason why it is not 5 stars is because we had a reservation at 8:30, but only got our first drink at 8 am. All in all highly recommended!
