Beautiful to see for the first time, class, lots of love for the food 👌😉❤️

We were here yesterday with my wife to celebrate her 65th birthday. I had mentioned it in advance, but nothing was done about it. I did see balloons at some tables and a sparkler fountain by the dessert. It's a shame it turned out this way; I had expected more.

We had a nice meal, but the side dishes were on the small side for 3 people. The salad, in particular, was disproportionate for 3 people. Otherwise, it is a beautiful building, but very large and not how I imagine a bistro to be.

What a surprise this beautiful restaurant, what a lovely ambiance and friendly staff. The food was outstanding, the right flavors, the meat cooked perfectly, and the plating was also superb. The wine was also excellent.

Find it too expensive, quality is okay but the meat is very salty and I didn't see any vegetables, the shrimp were floating in the oil I know better places to eat

Visited for the first time. Found it too massively set up. The food wasn't top-notch, as we had expected. It was decent. Both my daughters used to go there often and both went this weekend as well. Both said that it has gone downhill a bit and has become too massive. My tournedos was good and my wife's tuna steak was too. Side dishes, standard.

I was here two years ago and was super positive, but unfortunately, it's a bit more moderate now. Despite having a reservation, I had to wait well over 50 minutes to an hour for a table, without clear or friendly communication or even an apology. Furthermore, they didn't personally check my reservation time, but rather the number of people in my party and whether there was room for them (4 people were always given priority over 6). So it was super busy; I got the impression it was a bit of a mass operation. The main course (stew) was far too salty, unfortunately. Otherwise, it was fine. Table service was friendly, though. Way too expensive for what you would actually expect, a shame!

I ate here for the umpteenth time and had another fantastic evening. I won't mention every single detail, but the overall experience is almost perfect for a restaurant. Some people might say it's pricey, but in my opinion, that's not the case at all. I am happy to pay a little extra for the excellent service, quality, and hospitality you get here. That makes the experience more than worth it every single time.

Very large establishment in Geesteren Everything here has been well thought out and refined by the owner from Iraq. The atmosphere is different from what you would expect at a bistro. 3-course dinner was fine with many choices. It was tasty and everything looks beautiful and well-presented. Certainly a great place to go for dinner with a larger group.

We had heard many stories that we had to eat here, so we booked a few weeks ago. Beautiful ambiance and spacious layout. We were politely escorted to our table. I had booked for Thursday evening and wanted to go for the 39.95 menu. However, the main courses didn't really appeal to me, so we opted for shared dining at 59 euros per person. We started with a bread roll with three sauces as an appetizer. After that, we were served 4?! starters. All equally delicious. As an intermediate course, a delicious mustard soup in a very nice soup bowl. Then a delicious lemon spoon, and for the main course, two types of meat and one fish. Finally, three desserts. Everything was superbly presented and very tasty. Large portions. If we are in the area again, we will definitely go back here.

We live in Rotterdam, but when we head towards Overijssel, this restaurant is high on the agenda.

Chic dining establishment. The herring dinner is highly recommended, featuring beautifully presented and, above all, flavorful unique dishes. Not the cheapest, but well worth the money.

We had reserved a table for 8:00 PM. At 8:50 PM we still hadn't been seated; along with us, many other customers had to wait at least 45 minutes. My question... why do you work with reservations if you can't honor them in terms of time? The waitresses were great.

It is big, busy, a tad kitsch, but also impressive. However, the service was good, fast, and skilled. The owner saw everything; a friendly host. And the food was really tasty! The oysters, the starters, and the meat main courses from the charcoal grill. We were too full for dessert.

The owner is from Iraq, came to the Netherlands years ago, and adapted here in a phenomenal way! This man has worked his way up in the restaurant business! He has created his own world in Geesteren. There, he had a beautiful bistro built, architecturally speaking, with a stunning appearance, both exterior and interior! Had a fine meal, but wouldn't go out of your way for it. For starters, the mixed appetizer with asparagus soup, sushi, mushrooms, and carpaccio. The carpaccio was sliced ​​much too thick. My dining companion had the regular carpaccio, which was better in terms of thickness and flavor. The oysters were tasty. Had steak tartare as the main course. It lacked a bit of creaminess and ingredients. A very bland steak tartare. Missed some extra shallots, mustard seeds, and an egg. I wouldn't order that again. The dessert was also fine, but the brownie lacked creaminess as well. All in all, therefore, tasty, a fine meal, but nothing special. Good service though, and a beautiful location.

There were seven of us standing excitedly at the door yesterday… only to find out that the reservation was actually for the next day 😅 Oops! But what happened next really deserves a huge compliment. The team remained super friendly and relaxed, and asked us to wait a moment; meanwhile, we saw some tables passing by, and in no time at all, they had simply created a spot for us! Truly so thoughtful and hospitable – you don't experience that often! And then the food… delicious! Everything was perfect: the dishes were super flavorful, the wine was top-notch, and the atmosphere in the restaurant is simply warm and cozy. A real night out for dinner! In short: a beautiful place with great service and fantastic food. We enjoyed ourselves immensely and will definitely be back (and next time we'll double-check the reservation date 😉). Atmospheric restaurant and friendly staff. However, for over 200 for 3 people, you expect a bit more, especially for a ribeye that is sliced ​​too thin and packed with spices and salt, making the meat indistinguishable, and a sirloin steak that is ordered medium rare but served rare. Otherwise, the food was excellent.

Upon arrival, there was only one person at the counter to handle the bill and take us to the table, meaning we had to wait at least 30 minutes before it was our turn to be shown. The main course to my right was a stew with lamb chops. The lamb chops were delicious, but the stew was terribly salty and inedible. As a replacement, I received a small piece of steak on mashed potatoes in gravy. The steak was too bland compared to the stew, but I'd rather have it bland than too salty. The mashed potatoes were served in gravy, which was also too salty. The starter and dessert were good. The service could use a few more smiles. We have been here before but will not be returning. The taste experience for this price is simply unacceptable. It is a shame, as it was one of my favorite restaurants that I enjoyed visiting.

Not cheap, but very good quality food. Well seasoned. Because it was a lot of food, unfortunately, the last piece of meat from the mixed grill had to be eaten lukewarm/cold. Just like the fries. The service was quick and very friendly.

The food was literally served within 5 minutes; the sandwich was still on the table. One person was still eating, and they were already clearing the table. We felt like everything had to be done incredibly quickly. We didn't want dessert, so we went to pay. At the cash register, we asked, "Is it normal to get your food within 5 minutes when you still have a sandwich?" We received an incredibly arrogant response, saying, "You should have ordered a starter." And this gentleman immediately left after paying; he definitely didn't have time. It took 50 minutes and we paid 200 euros, a huge disappointment for us. The food was good, however. But at McDonald's, you sit longer and it's not that expensive!

I ate here for the second time last Sunday. My favorite is definitely the ribeye. Very flavorful and tender!!! The meat is incredibly tender and of good quality. The accompanying sauces are also delicious. I also recommend the carpaccio... 😋 As for the atmosphere... the building is truly beautiful and the interior has a very charming atmosphere.

A lovely restaurant we've been to several times. Yesterday, however, the price-quality ratio was much lower than usual. When we arrived, we couldn't park our car. Once inside, we had to wait about 15 to 20 minutes for our table. At the table, it also took quite a while for our food and drinks to arrive. Finally, we ordered a Coke, which took so long that the waiter almost missed us. All in all, we won't be going back.

Tabels are nicely arranged around the restaurant, serice is great and food is good. After couple of time going there are no more dinnerent dishes to try. It can be very full and than it is louder. We had some disiculty normaling talking without leaning to the table, by the table for two.

It's a beautiful location. I found the reception a bit stiff, and I noticed this continued with all the tables after us. There's little spontaneity, except for the regulars. The Kruidentuin probably has an abundance of guests, otherwise they would go out of their way to please everyone. Smiles are free, after all. The carpaccio was a huge disappointment. The meat is of excellent quality, but the preparation is truly tasteless and inappropriate. Compare this to the carpaccio they served years ago when we came here monthly. The dry, uncooked arugula is thrown on top from a bag/container with some low-quality aged cheese. It's a shame and disappointing, and we took half of it home. I mentioned this to a waitress, who was surprised by this criticism, and said she would check with the kitchen and return. This has yet to happen. She avoided our table the entire time. I found this rather unprofessional, considering I expected this restaurant to suggest a replacement appetizer. Of course, I had paid for this. The spareribs were dry and quite tasteless. The garnishes also paled in comparison to what they had served previously. Perhaps it depends on which dish you order, and there will undoubtedly be some good things in there, but we'll never go back. When paying, they asked if everything was to your liking, and I politely shared my disappointment. As a gesture of goodwill, the carpaccio was removed from the bill. This is polite, but not something that would make us ever go back.

Het voorgerecht, een gemengde mix, smaakte prima en was een goed begin van de avond. Ook de bediening was vriendelijk en behulpzaam, daar lag het zeker niet aan. Toch viel het hoofdgerecht erg tegen. De friet was koud en keihard, alsof je op oude paprikastokjes kauwde. De lamskoteletten waren aangebakken en zwart, waardoor de smaak verloren ging. Het saladebakje erbij was heel klein en zonder extra’s. We hebben dit ook netjes bij de bediening gemeld. Voor een restaurant met deze naam en reputatie hadden we echt een stuk meer verwacht. Bijgevoegd een foto van het bakje lamskoteletten dat we hebben meegenomen voor de hond. Wat vindt u zelf van de kleur?

Mooie zaak. Vlees was goed. Maar de friet! Wat een rotzooi! Hard en glazig.... Het leek wel of het in oude olie was gebakken. Klachten daarover vielen heel slecht bij de man in de bediening. Hij keek heel geïrriteerd, alsof hij geen tegenspraak duldde. Hij bracht een nieuw schaaltje en die was nóg slechter, kon gelijk retour! En op vier personen een klein schaaltje groente. Dat krijg je ook wanneer je met z'n tweeën eet. Zo pakken ze toch weer wat extra geld..... Waar is echt goede horeca gebleven? Ze klagen allemaal maar je wordt voor de gek gehouden waar je bij staat! Voor ons was dit eenmalig.

Vandaag voor het eerst bij dit restaurant gegeten en het was van begin tot eind genieten. Bij binnenkomst werden we meteen verrast door het sfeervolle interieur – een echt wow-moment. De bediening was bijzonder attent en vriendelijk, wat meteen voor een warm welkom zorgde. Het voorgerecht was erg lekker en perfect op smaak. Het hoofdgerecht was precies goed bereid: sappig, mals en perfect gegrild. Ook de hoeveelheid was precies goed. Zelfs het dessert was fantastisch en een heerlijke afsluiter van de avond. De cocktail had voor mij iets minder ijs mogen bevatten, maar dat is een klein detail in een verder perfecte avond. We komen hier zeker nog eens terug!

Voor mijn verjaardag wezen eten, voorgerecht was super ! Had me erg verheugd op de biefstuk die de vorige keer echt heerlijk was maar nu enorm tegenviel. Rauwkost was zuur en tafels staan wel heel dicht op elkaar. Als je een luxe restaurant wilt zijn met daarbij behorende prijzen moet je niet alle tafels zo dicht bij elkaar zetten.

Lekkergegeten maar niet bijzonder. Prima bediening, teleurgesteld mbt de prijs, het is echt een te hoge prijs voor wat je krijgt.

During that period we were asked remarkably often if we wanted extra drinks. That struck me as if it was a strategy rather than another goal. The food itself was good and the staff friendly. In my opinion, the time between dishes and portion size could be improved, but that is also personal.

Went out for dinner with a whole group of colleagues. Nice place at a large round table. Due to pregnancy there are considerably fewer food options. Very unfortunate, I miss a "fresher" starter. E.g. a nice citrus buratta salad or something with chicken. The mustard soup was beautifully served in terms of tableware, but is very ordinary in taste. Lacks spice. The bacon was already a bit soft because it was already in the soup, so certainly not "crispy". All in all simple. As a main course I chose the grilled pork tenderloin, not grilled pink. That wish was taken a little too literally, resulting in a dry piece of meat. In terms of portion size, great! The sauce also lacked some spice. Side dishes were sufficient. Other options on the menu certainly seemed tasty, albeit "heavy". It could be a bit lighter and fresher. Unfortunately no highlight this time.

Well, we are probably one of the few who think "okay, we don't have to go here anymore after 1 experience. It looks beautiful inside! But... we still got a bit of a "food barn" experience. Tables too close together. Ordered food and it was on the table in no time shortly after we arrived. The fish was fine, the mixed grill was much too peppery. Too bad. Then dessert. Also in no time. In short, about an hour and a half after When we arrived, we were standing outside again, with a "peppery" bill in addition to the mixed grill. But as far as we were concerned, the feeling of "pleasant quiet enjoyment and a nice dinner" was not there anymore. But we don't have to go here anymore!

Wat hebben wij genoten! Een prachtige ambiance, super vriendelijk personeel en heerlijk eten! Het was druk die avond zeiden ze zelf, toen we vroegen hoeveel mensen er konden eten. Eigenlijk hebben we daar, behalve de gezellige drukte, niets van gemerkt. Het jeugdige personeel rent zich de benen uit het lijf en ze zijn allemaal even vriendelijk!

What a wonderful experience at Bistro De Kruidentuin! The ambiance is warm and atmospheric, with a cozy interior that immediately gives a relaxed feeling. The tournedos was perfectly prepared, wonderfully tender and full of flavor. But the absolute highlight was the dessert: the white chocolate bomb. Magical to see and a taste sensation to taste! Highly recommended for a culinary evening out.

Zaterdagavond, trek gekregen na een lange fietstocht. Bij binnenkomst compleet genegeerd. Uiteindelijk weer vertrouwd naar Ribhous Texas gegaan, waar we enthousiast ontvangen werden. Als het mogelijk is om 0 sterren te geven hadden we dat gedaan. De Kruidentuin blijkt een gemiste kans te zijn…

What a great restaurant!! Delicious food, large portions, friendly service, cozy atmosphere. The appetizer (Sushi roll and Steak tartare) was delicious and you could hardly call it an appetizer, the portions were so large. The meat of the main course was really tender and perfectly cooked. The dessert (Hot love, chocolate cake) was really delicious! The center of the cake was still nice and liquid and the ice cream completed the dessert nicely. We also had a delicious cup of coffee, with which we could even choose a delicious chocolate. I've also seen that in other restaurants, but then you pay for that receipt. Not now, he was having coffee, what service! Even during the meal, the staff regularly asks whether everything is to your liking and whether you need another drink. In short, a restaurant where we will definitely come back again!!

Wow, what a place to be. The environment is fantastic, the staff friendly and competent, but the food surpasses everything. It is becoming very difficult to eat somewhere else now and not compare it to the food here. It was divine!!

I heard quite often that this must be something special, so I reserved and went there with another couple with reservations... quite a drive from Enschede. Once we arrived, the restaurant looked nice. Reception was okay. Service was very businesslike and minimal with few words. I was quite disappointed with the food (not worth the drive) carpaccio had already dried up on the plate along the edges. Ribeye is supposed to be a little greasy but this one had more greasy than anything else. All in all it wasn't great and my expectations were too high. I like Kir Royal better.
