Highly recommended!! The food is amazing, and the ambiance and staff are very personal. I am from Den Dolder myself, and for us, this is always a lovely evening out for dinner with the family. I would sincerely recommend every dish, and the wines are perfect too.

A top-notch place with a fantastic menu and a cozy atmosphere. If you want to enjoy top-class French bistro dishes in a homey setting, this is the place to be, but having a beer at the bar is fun too!

Great bistro!!! Had a delicious lunch there this afternoon. The price was really not expensive for a bistro, and on top of that, the menu is original and what was served was very good. The waitress was amazing!!! You really felt at ease. Good luck!!!!

It is and remains a great bistro! I am such a fan of places like this where it is simply always cozy, people are enjoying a lovely drink, and you can eat fantastically there too! Hats off to Bjorn. Keep up the good work! The wines, including the Riesling from Schloss and the Crozes-Hermitage from Delas, were also top-notch.

Had lunch today, and the portions were really small, and the bill was a lot. Disproportionate. I ordered the Eggs Benedict lunch, which was a small brioche bun (about half the size of a casino slice) with salmon, two eggs, and the sauce. And that was it! It was gone after a few bites. So I also ordered a salad to share with my table companion. €20 for a salad with two shrimp, some crayfish, salmon, and some cured ham. It had no flavor!! I ended up paying €67 for the bill. I won't be coming back and I certainly won't recommend it to others. When it was under new ownership and still called Egelantier, everything was much better. Too bad.

A charming and authentic place to relax, perfect for lunch or dinner. Just a stone's throw from the station. Park at the P+R.

We ate dinner last night with a group of 11 people. The atmosphere was pleasant and the food was delicious. They also created a delicious vegan menu for one of the group. The service was excellent.

Excellent food from a chef who loves his job, he makes little paintings of every order.

Great evening at Hero! Had a wonderful meal at Hero – everything is just right here. The atmosphere is relaxed, the service super friendly and the food… finger-licking good. We had the salade riche, redfish, tuna and asparagus. Everything looked great and tasted at least as good. Eva had just arrived, but acted like she had been working there for years – truly a star (as was the rest of the team by the way). We keep coming back. Recommended!

The food was excellent, one minus: fried potatoes were fried potato pieces. Service regularly asked locals if everything was to their liking and did not do this with tourists. Still special.

Nice terrace, excellent and friendly service and delicious rosé with cheese sticks in the sun. Always fun there. Had a good lunch earlier too. Now read that they will even kindly move your bicycle for you if you place that (very strange action) on the terrace where there is a no bicycles sign.

Went for drinks for the umpteenth time, and again delicious non-average snacks and a tasty drinks platter. Hero, cozy and tasty. See you soon for a dinner.

Wij gingen hier eten door mede de beoordelingen echter dit viel ons zwaar tegen bediening langzaam geen frites en sla erbij nagerecht klein met al zeker t.o.v de prijs komen wij zeker niet terug

We'll never come again! My girlfriend asked to come there. My bicycle under the roof of an empty terrace... pouring rain. Was moved, I was shocked when I no longer saw it. He, the owner, removed the bicycle from the terrace. My girlfriend said, don't go to lunch anymore And never back. Of course I wouldn't have put it there if there were people there... Slightly unfriendly treatment. And you were required to pay by card...that closed the door!

Food average but for a decent price! Service disinterested and not particularly friendly.

Hier neergestreken voor de lunch tijdens een fietstocht. Prettig terras met (snelle) informele bediening. Mooi ambachtelijk brood belegt met goede gerookte zalm en de andere keuze met kwalitatief goede ribeye. Meer dan een gewoon broodje!

Nice place to have a drink on the terrace!

Hero is the successor to Egelantier, which was previously located in the building. Hero has big star ambitions, but that seems to have difficulty working in this location; 10m from the railway line, with a view of the AH parking location. The menu and price level also do not fully suit the audience around the location. The map has also been adapted to the ambition. No more burgers and satay, but small and expensive dishes. For example, we had the tournados and fish of the day at an otherwise empty restaurant on Saturday. These are tasty but tiny and do not come with anything (no sandwich in advance, vegetables or fries pay extra for €5 each). Even though there are no other guests, the food takes an insanely long time to be served. The wine is fine and not expensive. Beautiful glasses, with the Hero logo brought to you by friendly service. Dotting the i's; replace the paper A4 menu with something that matches the rest, remove the slot machine in the restaurant which does not really fit the look & feel, and the spelling of “botlle” is “bottle”.

Gezellig en vriendelijk. Goed eten. Blijft een favoriete locatie - om te eten, of alleen een borrel. Ik kom regelmatig terug.

Heel gezellig gegeten met vrienden. Relaxte ongedwongen sfeer en heerlijk eten. We komen zeker terug en kunnen dit restaurant aan iedereen aanraden.

Hier geluncht, viel eerlijk gezegd wat tegen. Eieren van de uitsmijter zijn zo klein (gebakken) dat ze 2/3 van de boterham bedekken. Prima service en locatie.

Een prima plek om te borrelen, prima terras en vriendelijke medewerkers. Deze keer ook gegeten, voldoende opties op en naast de kaart. Eendenborst is echt een aanrader.

Jammer geen losse frietjes te bestellen alleen in combinatie met hoofdgerecht.

Lekker plekje om een middag/avond te zitten en genieten. We hebben buiten op het terras geborreld en later gegeten. We hadden een super lekkere aangepaste borrelplank. Omdat we met 2 zwangeren waren hadden de koks fijne alternatieven toegevoegd. Geen saaie vervanging maar echt lekker smullen. We zouden eerst ergens anders gaan eten maar zijn lekker blijven hangen omdat het zo gezellig was. Fijne sfeer, leuke bediening en lekker eten voor een fijne prijs!

Leuke uitspanning om na een wandeling wat te drinken. Gastvrij, het personeel sleepte stoelen aan om onze hele groep aan 1 tafel te laten zitten. Vlotte bediening.

Bistro Hero heeft een heerlijke kaart en alles wordt vers gemaakt. Je proeft het enthousiasme van de koks in het eten en ze hebben ook verstand van mooie wijnen. Vriendelijke en snelle bediening, het interieur is authentiek en heel gezellig op een mooie locatie langs het station in Den Dolder. Wij komen hier graag!

We waren benieuwd hoe Bistro Hero er na de verbouwing uit zou zien en waren verrast om te zien dat er aan het interieur op het eerste gezicht weinig veranderd leek te zijn! Dat is schijn, want het is juist in oude stijl hersteld. Vertrouwd, dus. De kwaliteit van het eten is echt de grootste verandering: die is echt goed. Wel een beetje aan de prijzige kant maar toch klopt de verhouding prijs/kwaliteit wel. Het lijkt er wel op dat er nog een beetje gezocht wordt naar of Hero nou een eetcafé "plus" is of een bruine dorpskroeg wil zijn. Eten en wijn dus van hoge kwaliteit (veel beter dan in een willekeurig eetcafé) maar de (te) harde muziek en de gokkast die de verbouwing helaas heeft overleefd, doen daar weer een beetje afbreuk aan. Maar dat is wel een beetje zeuren, want het was gewoon allemaal prima. We zijn blij dat Den Dolder weer een eetcafé heeft en komen zeker terug.

Mooie bistro midden in Den Dolder. Goede koffie en de kaart ziet er goed uit.

Heerlijke BBQ, met voor vegetariërs uitstekende alternatieven. Fijne bediening.

Echt een leuk dorpscafé/bistro.

Wij hebben er geluncht. Uitsmijter genomen, met kaas, wat je nog extra moest betalen. Je kreeg 3 witte smaakloos sneetjes brood, een gebakken ei op elk broodje, en kaas die je amper proefde. Niet eens wat rauwkost erbij. We hebben het wel eens beter gehad voor dat geld. Dus als we weer eens door Den Dolder fietsen, gaan we daar zeker niet eten.

Weinig op de kaart en alles apart afrekenen. ook sla je de plank compleet mis als je dit soort bedragen gaat rekenen in een dorp. waar is de saté en de carpaccio gebleven? die lauwe en veel te kleine tournedos schiet niet op. Wij komen voorlopig niet meer en missen de oude Egelantier

Nieuwe eigenaar, nieuwe bediening. Top koks, prijs is aan de Quality. Soms een beetje druk binnen. Eten is echt top quality.

Prima gegeten! In het weekend is het verstandig vooraf te reserveren. Leuke kaart, dus pas alle voorgerechten maar eens besteld. Duur wordt geroepen, maar da’s waarschijnlijk door mensen die het dorp niet uit gaan om te eten. Een flesje wijn is zelfs goedkoop te noemen. Sfeer is als vanouds en personeel doet z’n best.

Al 3 keer geluncht. Alle 3 super goed. Lekker gegeten en vriendelijk personeel. Ga zo door!

Paar weken terug voor het eerst geweest en een heerlijke lunch gehad! Super eten, bediening en atmosfeer. Ondertussen meerdere keren terug gekomen voor een hapje eten en lekkere borrel.

Eindelijk......er is weer een gave tent waar je je onmiddellijk thuis voelt in Den Dolder!

Ik hoop dat het een starters probleem is maar wij komen voorlopig niet meer . Ons vlees was koud dus het ging terug naar de keuken. We waren met z’n 4 en en twee gingen eten en twee moesten wachten op een nieuw menu. Erg ongezellig. Ondertussen hadden wij onze jassen aan getrokken omdat het vreselijk koud was in het restaurant. De prijs voor een glas wijn is ook belachelijk hoog! Het vlees was goed maar te flauw en er stond nergens peper of zout. Het personeel was te druk om te roepen dus we hebben het zo opgegeten. Ik had verwacht dat wij tenminste de koffie achteraf gratis zouden krijgen aangezien de 2 menu’s koud waren maar dat was niet het geval. Wel erg gezellige bistro.

Lekker druk op een vrijdag avond in het net voor de 3e dag open :Bistro Hero Leuke gezellige sfeer met vlotte bediening Vooraf Wild tomatensalade en rivierkreeftjes met bosui en hoofdgerechten boederijhoender en de Tournedos -beiden met lekkere jus Toetje tarte Citron en chocolade fudge smaakt prima Wij hebben heerlijk gegeten -alles klopt Zelfs de Cappuccino smaakt goed !!

En ze zijn weer open! Fantastisch keuken team ook dit keer, nieuw maar dan in het oude vertrouwde jasje. Heerlijke kaart, lekker zitten en gezellig personeel.

Een oorspronkelijke dorpskroeg die op zaterdag om 22.30 uur dichtgaat is geen cafe meer, maar een lunchroom. Jammer...

Die erwtensoep MOET je geproefd hebben!

Enorm lekker gegeten. Heerlijke dikke malse burger met friet en lekkere kruiden. En biefstuk met aardappels. Snel geserveerd door vriendelijk personeel. De aardappels bij de biefstuk zijn wat weinig en de brownie met ijs en slagroom als dessert is wat prijzig voor de hoeveelheid die je krijgt, maar alles is erg lekker. Zeker aan te raden voor een lekkere maaltijd, alleen het dessert zou ik laten voor die prijs.
