Charging a whopping 70 euros for a piece of meat and serving it on a wooden board on a napkin???! How can you be so brainless? Lovely sticky paper on your meat for an unfair price. It's not my problem that they are too lazy to maintain proper hygiene. And then you also have to pay an extra 6 euros for fries. Plus, even though no one asked me about a sauce, 1.75 was still charged for unsolicited mayonnaise. Avoid this place. You can eat tastier, better, and more pleasantly almost anywhere in the neighborhood than here. The service was also really slow and unfriendly, even though it wasn't busy at all.

Ordered Chicken Satay as a main course. They really know how to grill here. Deliciously tender, seasoned chicken satay pieces, with tasty satay sauce on the side. The fries were crispy, not too greasy, not too dry, and well-seasoned. The accompanying salad was balanced in terms of flavor. Shared Crème Brûlée for dessert, with vanilla ice cream and a strawberry on top; tasty. Fast, friendly service. I will be back here next time.

You won't believe the amazing vegan burger and fries I just had! 🍔🍟 They were so delicious, and the fries were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Thank you!

Beautiful location in the center of The Hague, with a luxurious feel. It's wonderfully peaceful, perhaps because the prices are a bit higher. Delicious food.

Delicious wines at reasonable prices. Iberico croquettes are rarely found on a menu, and we thoroughly enjoyed them. Friendly service. As a native of The Hague, this was my first time here, but definitely not my last.

Yesterday (January 28, 2025) I dined here again. It was delicious and cozy. One comment though: towards the end of the evening, there were a lot of MICE running around. That's not a pretty sight and doesn't feel right either. I'd recommend doing something about this. It was the same last time. Tip: hire a certified company. I had an excellent experience at BIT! The food was delicious, the portions generous, and the service was very prompt, attentive, and polite. That's how a night out should be! I highly recommend this restaurant. We will definitely be back.

We wait for 2 hr to get the food. We were 4 people , and we order burguers with french fries. The french fries never arrived and the meat of the burguers were not cooked. Although the waiter was trying to be nice. Never again!

The three of us went for dinner before going to the theater. We had mentioned this to the staff. Nevertheless, I found the service slow, unattentive, and lacking in knowledge about the dishes and wines. We ordered the mixed grill for three as a main course (we first asked if that was possible...), but unfortunately, we received it for two. We already thought that at €70 for two people, it was expensive for what you get (one prawn, 100g rump steak, and two chicken breasts per person). The starters were more than adequate, however. We had to wait so long for our coffee that we had to cancel it. It's a beautifully decorated restaurant that has much more potential if the service were more attentive and professional.

Pleasant space in itself, the food was not very special, but above all very slow.

The restaurant’s atmosphere and décor are really nice, and the prices are reasonable. I visited the restaurant last night for dinner and ordered a medium-cooked burger with fried onions, a side of French fries, a side of salad, and mustard and mayo on the side. After 15 minutes, a different waiter brought just the burger. I asked where my fries were, and he looked at me as if I had never ordered any. After speaking with the first person who took my order, he came back and told me that my fries would be out as soon as possible. Fifteen minutes later, my fries arrived. I took a bite of my burger—now cold—and realized it was cooked well-done and didn’t have any fried onions in it. I called the waiter again and explained that this wasn’t how I had ordered the food. He took the plate, and two minutes later he brought back the same burger with some onions added inside, telling me, “This is how we make a medium burger (please see picture).” I decided not to protest again and just ate the burger. The taste was that of a low-cost, frozen store-bought burger (which was most likely the case). The only thing that tasted good was the fries. Oh, and I am still waiting for the side salad.

Fish and chips was diabolical, especially for the price! Fish was really chewy and tough, service was decent and nice environment but over priced especially for the standard. The blackened chicken was nice however but very poor Fish

Great food in a great location. We come here regularly and it's always a pleasure. From the burgers, beef bourguignon, fish and chips, to the ribeye, everything is equally delicious. A delicious house wine (Merlot / Cabernet Sauvignon Domaine de Castelnau) accompanies it. The staff is also very professional and friendly. 11/01/2025 Ate here again, the food is excellent as always. Unfortunately, our reservation wasn't received correctly. We always want to reserve a special round table for three people because one of us has hearing problems. Fortunately, the staff resolved this well, and it all worked out. Another comment: the three urinals in the men's room were out of order. This is unacceptable in such a good restaurant. 16/11/2025 Unfortunately, the service is getting worse and worse. It used to be all-inclusive, but then we had to pay extra for water, fries, and salad. Now we have to pay extra for a thimbleful of meat juice and bearnaise sauce. Bizarre and a shame.

We've been coming here for years, but the last two times the quality of the meat has really declined (we're in The Hague twice a year). The first time we thought, "Oh, it happens sometimes," but yesterday I asked about it anyway. Maybe they had a different supplier or something. The kitchen told me the toughness of the meat was inherent to the cut we'd chosen. If we didn't want that, we had to choose the most expensive cut on the menu. I was stunned. We always eat picanha there and never had any problems. It was also cooked a bit too long. But honestly, I think a piece of meat costing almost €70 should taste good. Furthermore, we suddenly don't get the sauces with it anymore. Before, for €70, you'd get three small containers of sauce, like gravy and chimichurri. Now you have to pay for it. €2.50 per container???? And if you want vegetables or something else to go with your overly dry, tough meat, you have to pay an additional €5.75 per choice. So, in the end, we ended up with a bad piece of meat, potatoes, peppers, and a soft drink each. We spent almost €90! This was definitely the last time!!! And what I found most appalling was the lackadaisical attitude of the chef and waitress! Not recommended!!!

The food was delicious. Upon arrival, our reserved table wasn't ready yet, so we could sit at the bar for a bit. But no drinks. The table was taken quickly, drinks were served upon our request, but it took far too long for them to arrive. When we ordered our food, the order was taken before our drinks arrived. The main course arrived before the starter had been cleared, and our glasses were already empty. Food: it was delicious, we enjoyed it. Only €5.75 + €1.00 for 20 fries and mayonnaise; too much of a spotlight. All in all, we won't be back. Even though the food was delicious.

The food was delicious, the meat was very good quality! The service was a bit understaffed, so we had to wait a very long time for our main course.

There were not many customers at the scene, but we had to wait 40 minutes to order a steak. I don't understand why we have to wait for several hours when there are many customers. We ordered a steak of medium rare, but it was cooked well and became super hard. The grilled shrimp looked like this. I don't recommend it at all. I don't know if the employees here are not paid. They are completely unprofessional.

This is my go-to restaurant in The Hague, when I come a couple of times a year. The food is consistently and straight-forwardly good, and reasonably priced. One does not leave hungry. The service is quick, efficient and friendly. The lay-out is spacious and easy on the eye. A good place

We used to eat here often, and back then it was pricey, but okay for the quality. Now you pay extra for every little thing. Only some meat and limited sides. The meat has become very expensive. The service is subpar. It's a real shame; we won't be back. It's too expensive for what it is.

Ordered two rosé and two sparkling wines, received white, and according to them, it was rosé. My husband had requested a drink in advance, and that wasn't there either, which was truly disappointing.

We sit outside but noone came, so we left.

Unsociable, you order a €70 dish that doesn't even come with sauce and fries. All of this has to be ordered separately, costing an extra €5.75 for fries and €2.50 for sauce. A draft white beer also costs €11 per glass. The staff brings a glass of wine and holds it at the top of the glass where you're supposed to drink. Tables aren't wiped clean; only plates and glasses are cleared. This is a place our entire group will never return to.

Beautiful location, not too crowded, lovely terrace. Delicious modern apple pie! Young, friendly staff, cutlery provided upon request.

The food was great, refined, tasty, big portions.

It takes forever for a server to arrive, even though there are only three tables occupied. The cappuccino is cold. Unfortunately, the whipped cream dispenser wasn't full enough, so a cup of Chocomel only got a little bit of whipped cream.

Not too busy on Saturday evenings due to the holiday season. The food was good. The wait time was relatively long, both for drinks and for the courses. The atmosphere was good.

I went here for dinner with my brother for his birthday, and what a great choice it was! He's a true carnivore, and this restaurant was recommended to us as the place to be for meat lovers. So our expectations were already high. We chose a mixed grill for two, the 800-gram picanha (also for two people), and the French fries with truffle mayonnaise as a side. When the food was served, I honestly thought at first: "Oh, is this it?" but that quickly changed. What an explosion of flavors! The meat was wonderfully tender, perfectly prepared, and truly top-quality. The picanha stood out for me; I would recommend it to everyone. And even though there were "only" two of us, we ended up with more than enough food. We were stuffed and more than satisfied. (Also, it was a good thing if we ordered for four, haha) In short: BIT Grill and Café is absolutely recommended for anyone who loves good meat, a cozy atmosphere, and generous portions. We will definitely be back!

Highly recommended! We had lunch while strolling through the center of The Hague. The young women who took our orders and served us were very friendly. The food was delicious. We ordered hamburgers and salmon with avocado, everything very fresh and tasty. Since it's summer, sitting outside is very pleasant, where you can watch the trams go by, etc. The prices are also reasonable.

Absolutely stellar cuisine, utterly ruined by service so atrocious it deserves its own hall of shame. Our waitress was far too busy living her best life with her pals at the bar to notice our table, where I sat twiddling my thumbs for over half an hour, dreaming of a beer that never arrived. Apparently, they couldn’t care less whether we fancied dessert or were just there to admire the decor.

Waited forever to receive overcooked steak (everyone's steak was overcooked), overcooked chips, undercooked vegetables and we were given broken glasses. Went to McDonalds across the road after, the meat was juicier than my 'rare' steak. Would recommend going there instead....

I was a traveler from outside the Netherlands. Some of the staff were Dutch, and as I had heard, there was really a lot of gender discrimination, especially from the Dutch female employees working there. Also, their desserts were very old so much so that all three desserts were left completely untouched.

I found the food in this restaurant really disappointing. The service was unfriendly and slow. The atmosphere was dull and the food came cold and tasteless. Definitely not recommended.

I recently went to this steak restaurant and unfortunately it was a huge disappointment. One of the employees, a blonde girl, was extremely rude and unprofessional. The rest of the staff was also distant and not welcoming at all. The dishes arrived cold and were poorly prepared. All in all it was a very negative experience. I definitely do not recommend this restaurant.

they have no respect for people We ordered two times cold coffee with ice and cream, they brought us almost cloudy water with ice, there was an old woman who did not know how to treat customers I was very disappointed. ....!!!!!

Very unfriendly service. I am a guest at the hotel myself, I just came for a drink. It takes a very long time for service to arrive and another guest was just sent away in a very rude manner by a grumpy old woman because they sat on the wrong side of the terrace (where there is sun; there are few guests)? Never experienced this before.

Had a great meal at Bit! The cappuccino was great – really well made. The fries were nice and crispy, although the mayonnaise was a bit sour for me. My burger had a perfect balance of flavours, and my girlfriend thought her carpaccio was fine, although there was just a bit too much truffle mayonnaise on it. A nice extra: we got some bread on the house. The service was okay, although the waitress had some trouble explaining – a bit more self-confidence would help. The atmosphere is nice, with a beautiful open kitchen and lots of natural light. All in all, definitely recommended for a relaxed lunch or dinner!

Unfortunately, I cannot say good things about this place. A rude and slow waiter brought us our steak (for 2 ppl) which was cold. We politely informed him, he agreed to do something about it. The was no rush to bring us our steak back. Thanks to another waiter who noticed the problem and brought our order when our lazy “waiter” was busy chatting and laughing. Pity: nice location, the food is ok, but such poor service

Nice entrance, staff very friendly. Ordered the meat platter in advance, carpaccio was thick and tough slices. Bread was delicious. Classic burger was fine, round steak was very tough, and almost no garnish. This was very disappointing, expected more.

We had round beef and hamburger, it was delicious. However, I told the guy taking the order that I wanted to add fries and he said that there were fries on the side. When the order arrived, there were no fries. When I asked, they said, "Oh, there was a mistake, it doesn't come with it." People offer it, but they didn't take it away.

It was my first time visiting Restaurant but definetly not the last one. We came to celebrate my boyfriends Bday and they created really nice surprise for him. The food was amazing and service as well. Recommending!

Marcel is the chef and manager of this incredible establishment located in the Boutique Corona Hotel in The Hague. When we asked him if he could do a special event for 12 traveling American cyclists his only answer was “ Of course. What time do you want to start?”. He went shopping for special foods and ingredients . He even made certain dishes and combinations to satisfy some of the diners. In short, he delivered way more than he promised and way more than we expected. Thank you Marcel and thank you BIT Grill.

Nice sunny terrace but lousy service. It took a very long time before we were helped, and the people next to us left early. “My colleague will be right there” - of course he didn't come. Inside, empty tables were still full of glasses. Staff shortage?

I NEED TO LEAVE THIS REVIEW BECAUSE THIS WAS THE WORST PLACE I HAVE EVER VISITED IN THE NETHERLANDS TO EAT. We called to make a reservation, but when we arrived, we had to wait at the bar because there were no tables. We placed our food and drink orders at the same time. After 20 minutes, they came back to say they didn't have what we had ordered as a starter (a Spanish dish). We decided to choose another starter, which took over 40 minutes to arrive. To my surprise, when they gave me my plate (Gazpacho), it was blended but not strained. So you could taste the tomato pieces and other ingredients. We didn't even finish the starter and had to cancel the second course because more than 1.30 hours had passed and we barely had the first course. So we left without dinner because the main course took too long. And we ordered a cheesecake to go since it looked good when it was delivered to other customers. (I AM ATTACHING A PHOTO OF THE CHEESECAKE THEY GAVE ME)

Nice restaurant, tasty food. But at the time we were guests there was clearly no surplus of room staff. Had to wait a long time to order or reorder... was not pleasant. Our meat was served lukewarm, it had probably been ready for a while... too bad. The taste was certainly good.

We went there for lunch but the lady serving was clearly not having her day. Everyone who walked onto the terrace was turned away because they were full. Which is of course possible, but she didn't even look at the guests, very impersonal and you don't really feel welcome. Even when taking the order, she didn't look at us, said very little and walked away after taking the order without saying anything. The food, on the other hand, was delicious, which made the experience a lot better. But something can be done about the controls.

Delicious food! Ordered appetizer and dessert and shared it with the 4 of us, even more to taste. Really nothing to complain about the dishes! Carpaccio, steak tartare; top! Burgers for the kids; Delicious! And with the 2 of us Josper's choice of grill; 600 grams of bavette and perfectly grilled. Creme brulee na is not the smallest; recommended. Excellent price quality here. Person knows their job.

Was visiting with a friend from a different city. The service was horrible, the staff were not interested in us at all and were incredibly rude. We waited so long to even put a drinks order in that we didn’t bother ordering food.

Cozy cafe, we had a delicious meal and the portion was certainly good. Our meat was a bit overcooked. The price is not too bad, especially if you order a platter. The grilled vegetables were delicious!

We had a nice Valentine’s night diner at BIT. The meat was really good, sides were okay, and the wines were pretty average. Service was good and attentive, but we were seated right next to the bathroom despite booking in advance. We asked to move, but they said they were fully booked, even though some tables stayed empty all night. Overall, it was a good meal and pleasant experience and we will be back because of the food.

The food was delicious, Lobster bisque was delicious and bread options really good. I got one of the steaks and it was perfectly cooked and all the sauces were on point. Add to that the service was fantastic and very friendly, great place to visit

Jammer genoeg was onze reservering niet goed doorgekomen. Wij willen nl altijd een speciale ronde tafel voor 3 personen bespreken omdat een van ons gehoor problemen heeft. Gelukkig werd dit door het aanwezige personeel goed opgelost en kwam het toch nog goed. Nog een aanmerking, in de herentoilet waren de 3 aanwezige urinoirs buiten werking?? Dit kan natuurlijk niet in zo een goed restaurant.

For some unknown reason the restaurant managed to block my bank card with their payment station. Not a pleasant souvenir. The food was nice but the wait staff needed to be reminded a few times on extra ordered drinks etc..

Evita este lugar a toda costa. Mi esposo, dos niños pequeños, y yo teníamos frío y simplemente queríamos una comida caliente después de caminar durante horas bajo el frío y la lluvia. Al principio, fuimos cálidamente recibidos por una joven que rápidamente nos encontró una mesa. Sin embargo, la mesa estaba justo al lado de la puerta, y se sentía con corriente. Me puse de pie para preguntar amablemente si podíamos mudarnos a otro lugar. Antes de poder hablar con la joven, una mujer mayor me vio de pie y se acercó, preguntándome si podía ayudar. Empecé a explicar: “Estamos sentados en esa mesa, pero hace un poco de frío...” — pero ella abruptamente me cortó a mitad de la frase. En un tono grosero y desdeñoso, ella gritó: “¡Sí, hace frío, y no hay nada que pueda hacer por ti!” Sorprendido por su comportamiento, le pregunté: “¿Así es como trata a sus clientes?” En lugar de disculparse, ella se inclinó y respondió duramente: “¡Sí, estamos ocupados y no tenemos otra mesa!” Inmediatamente regresé con mi familia y dije: “Vamos. No aceptaré que me traten así”. Cuando nos íbamos, la joven trató de ofrecernos otra mesa, pero para entonces, el daño estaba hecho, me negué a quedarme más tiempo. Cruzamos la calle a Vapiano, donde disfrutamos de una buena comida y nos trataron con la cortesía y respeto que todo cliente merece. Muy decepcionado y horrorizado por el trato grosero y poco profesional en este restaurante.

Avoid this place at all costs. My husband, two young children, and I were cold and simply wanted a warm meal after walking for hours in the cold and rain. At first, we were warmly welcomed by a young lady who quickly found us a table. However, the table was right by the door, and it felt drafty. I stood up to politely ask if we could possibly move to another spot. Before I could speak to the young lady, an older woman noticed me standing and approached, asking if she could help. I began explaining, “We’re sitting at that table, but it’s a bit cold…”—but she abruptly cut me off mid-sentence. In a rude and dismissive tone, she snapped, “Yes, it’s cold, and there’s nothing I can do for you!” Shocked by her behavior, I asked, “Is this how you treat your customers?” Instead of apologizing, she doubled down and replied harshly, “Yes, we’re busy, and we don’t have another table!” I immediately returned to my family and said, “Let’s go. I won’t accept being treated like this.” As we were leaving, the young lady tried to offer us another table, but by then, the damage was done—I refused to stay any longer. We crossed the street to Vapiano, where we enjoyed a good meal and were treated with the courtesy and respect every customer deserves. Highly disappointed and appalled by the rude and unprofessional treatment at this restaurant.

The rip-eye steak was excellent, with grilled vegetables, also very tasty!

We ordered Picanha and Ribeye for two, asking for medium, but they were served rare. The meat was tasty, so we didn’t mind too much. No complaints overall—good quality food.

Some parts of the steak were chewy and dry, and overall, it was mediocre. It took up to 45 minutes for our order to arrive, likely because the place was so busy — which is a good sign for the restaurant. The waiters, however, were very nice

We've been here so many times. The quality of food is good! The service is great!

Entry went well and we were quickly brought to our table. When ordering a starter and main course, communication was not clear enough because it apparently does not make sense that you first give your starter and then your main course. But luckily that could still be repaired because the order was still on hold, pfffff...... Afterwards we were asked once if we wanted to order drinks, but after that no one was seen at our table. We were also not asked if we wanted to order dessert, all in all a bad experience during our visit to BIT!!!

Service was terrible and there were mouses running around the restaurant. Also the food was nothing to write home about.

Nuestra última noche visitando La Haya y nos encontramos con este magnífico restaurante en el Buitenhof. Mi esposa y yo fuimos mostrados a una mesa junto a la ventana y después de haber estudiado el menú, decidimos que tendríamos el Hollands Bittergarnituur como entrada entre nosotros. Este consistía en un generoso plato de queso holandés, albóndigas y salchichas y resultó ser una excelente opción. Seguimos con las Double Mini Burgers cada una. Estas se sirvieron medio raras y en mi opinión dos de las mejores hamburguesas que he probado en mucho tiempo. BIT significa Best In Town y ciertamente parece ser verdad!

Delicious food, good ambiance, hospitable staff, food served quickly, prices on the high side. But all in all a good restaurant to spend an evening.

We hebben lekker gegeten en er was genoeg. De sfeer was goed. De bediening aardig en bekwaam. Jammer dat het vlees wat rood was wat medium had moeten zijn en het stuk medium te rood was. We waren met een grote groep en er werd behoorlijk gegeten en gedronken. Eén stevige rekening dus. Voor de sla/groente en de patat/aardappel moet je extra betalen als je dat erbij wil. Staat duidelijk aangegeven. Oké. Maar jammer dat er dan op de rekening 50 cent wordt gerekend voor een klein bakje mayonaise en als je je vlees niet op krijgt, waar je wel voor hebt betaald, je nog 1,50 moet betalen voor een meeneembakje. Vond dit wat klant onvriendelijk.

We had breakfast here twice because we had a room in the Corona hotel. We expected a lot from the breakfast but it was very disappointing! It is a very meager breakfast. It really is in stark contrast to the hotel. We will therefore reserve our breakfast elsewhere during our next stay.

Went here yesterday for drinks. Terrace has a great view of the Buitenhof. It was extremely quiet on the terrace on a Friday afternoon at 4:30 PM... Well, that says something. 3 people behind the bar and I drank one cocktail in 1.5 hours. They won't come to help you. And if you are still very thirsty like me, ask for the drinks menu and then after 10 minutes you have made a choice, no one comes anymore 🤣🤣🤣 guys are nice, but the idea is that you also let the customer order something 😃😃 anyway, it was nice and cheap this way, yes

friendly service and nice terrace

Before corona the food used to be delicios and the portions were so big you couldn't finish them. Unfortunately that isn't the case anymore. What I usually order, boeuf Bourguignon had this time two underdone potatoes inside the dish and the meat was not tender at all. The burger my husband got looked like a kids burger. They cut the costs, that is obvious. A pity. The spot is very nice but we will be only visiting for coffe from now on.

Very good food, perfectly cooked meat, the best chips, but awfully slow. It took us at least an hour to get our steak for 2 and boneless ribs with very basic tiny "caesar" that was nothing to do with "ceasar" more like plain green salad side. Service was friendly, but ever so absent, though the place wasn't full (as it almost always is). Location is fab, and if one sits outside it's very cosy in the evening w Pathe cinema and Passsage all lit up on opposite side of the road, with fairy lights on trees solid, but not exceptional etc.

Chair back broke off. Staff thought that was okay and had to laugh about it

The food was not too bad, the service also. I forgot the bag in the restaurant and after calling in one hour back, the waiter said, that they didn’t find anything. Be careful and don’t let the personal belongings there, you can be sure, they will not be safe in this place.

Most amazing steak and service in the whole of The Hague! Unbelievably good food and exceptionally good service that takes good care of you.

We were seduced by the positive reviews. Food (meat) was cold, service was non-existent. We had to wait a long time for the drinks (wine and water). We waited 40 minutes for our food. The table was dirty, the ashtray that was brought full, the plates were not cleared away. Too bad!

What a beautiful, elegant and cozy place. I went here with a friend for lunch and I was not disappointed. I got a shrimp kroket and woah it was so good. It looked like they make their own as it was completely different than any I ever had in these 13 years in NL. So good. My friend ordered a club sandwich and it looked amazing too. Definitely recommended.

Very tasty food, the appetizer platter beforehand is very good. Friendly service, everything served quickly. Recommended.
