The attuide of the barista wearing a black top Friday, 10th of July at 4:15 pm!! Chill no one is thinking about you, we were taking a photo of the cafe which we took a long ride to come to. And he was thinking we’re taking a picture of him (he was behind the machine lol) Yuck, never again. Worst staff & customer service.

Cozy café tucked away from the busy streets, yet still right in the heart of Amsterdam. It’s a great spot to meet friends, enjoy a relaxed coffee, or grab one to go. The space is surprisingly spacious, with plenty of seating if you want to work or stay for a while. I especially loved the interior design, featuring photos of the people who grow and harvest the coffee—it gives the café a very authentic feel. There’s even a coffee school on-site for anyone interested in learning more about coffee. I tried the matcha with coconut milk, and it was really good! Highly recommended if you’re in the area ☕💚

I really like this coffee place. I had an ice decaf latte, an espresso longo, and a decaf flat white and all were excellent. The chocolate croissant in the morning was also super tasty, actually warm but not sure they made it on-premises. They also have a coffee school and it was busy. Great place!

I was looking for the best specialty coffee in Amsterdam, so I tried a few different cafés before visiting Bocca. After comparing them, this was definitely my favourite. I had a flat white with oat milk, and it was absolutely delicious smooth, balanced, and full of flavour. The staff were friendly, and you can really tell they care about quality, from the roasting to the cup. If you’re looking for outstanding coffee in Amsterdam, Bocca is the place to go. Highly recommended!

flavor notes was very obvious and tasteful, however “body” was missing. inside of the cafe could have been decorated more effectively to create a nicer atmosphere. i do not exactly remember if there was music or not, but even if there was, i think it could have been louder with an appropriate genre.

Quite disappointed by the service and the coffee. A while ago, I stopped by quickly for a cappuccino, impressed by the high reviews. I walked in and was greeted kindly, placed my order, but the atmosphere changed after paying. I was given the option to give a 'tip'... for a €4 coffee that I ordered at the bar myself and was allowed to pick up myself..? In any case, I declined it and was met with a clearly sour look from the barista. Whatever. After waiting a few minutes, I was allowed to pick up my cappuccino, and after such poor interaction, I was disappointed once again when the coffee turned out to be lukewarm and watery. Despite the bland and watery coffee, the latte art was fine.

good experience, but if you want to buy any beans stay away from this place because they are not interested. The coffee was good, but i tried to buy beans with tasting and they didn’t interested, maybe i asked it at 5 p.m. but anyway, if you paid that much and get nothing, it’s not satisfying in amsterdam. Been here a couple of times but today service was bad and rude. This frustrated woman working there just talked to me in a rude way. Place was also packed and loud.

You want your morning coffee with heart here:-). Bocca serves fantastic coffee and quite possibly one of the best flat whites we had in Amsterdam. It’s smooth, rich, perfectly balanced, and clearly made with real care. A place coffee lovers will definitely want to return to.

This café is a very cozy place on a beautiful street. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming, and the staff are very friendly. They are experts in coffee and sell fresh specialty roasts, as well as coffee tools. I ordered a V60 with the "Gusto" beans, which seem to had an interesting flavor. The prices are fair, but unfortunately, I didn't enjoy my drink. As a professional coffee taster, I noticed the barista made the coffee a bit weak. It didn't have the "body" (the thickness or strength) I was expecting. However, this happens sometimes in specialty cafes, and most people might not notice it.

I came here for a nice coffee with my friend. The coffee quality is amazing and they have croissants. However there isn't a lot of variety of salty options.

Coffee (double espresso) was better than many other coffee shops, acidic, sadly still had a burnt, bitter aftertaste. Atmosphere was nice however, quiet, easy to chat.

Coffee is delicious here and the staff friendly. I only have one comment which is for the owner. You own a beautiful café for your clientele with a coffee training section at the back. Now please maintain the quality of your bathroom appliances and refurbish your toilets. This isn’t pleasant.

Excellent coffee. We chose pain au chocolat and cappuccino. There's no table service; they bring you a croissant or something else right away, and when your drink is ready, you just go get it. Spacious, very relaxing atmosphere. There's seating and even a restroom. Fairly priced.

Bocca remains my absolute favorite coffee spot in the city. They’ve managed to keep the same incredibly high bar of quality over the years. It’s a beautiful, expansive specialty coffee space—while there’s no outdoor seating, the street isn't overly touristy, so it’s easy to grab a coffee to go and find a nice spot nearby like we did. The coffee is always brewed and served with precision, and their desserts are the perfect pairing. Truly an amazing spot to enjoy your day!

Coffee latte is way too bitter.

Although I have to say the coffee was superior I was there this morning. I walked in to two girls working behind the bar. They were not really smiling or happy but more chit chatting together. I ordered my coffee, whilst doing so one of them had a little pen and wrote “have a nice day “ on the counter top and made a comment about making peoples day a bit more positive which I found quite ironic because the whole approach face to face to customers was pretty cold. Whilst frothing my milk they had a full blown convo while ignoring me and handed me coffee with a super blunt look. No “ have a nice day “ - but I guess I have to take the message from the counter top 🤣 maybe I’m old school but a bit of gezelligheid goes a long way. I ordered a coffee to have in but ended up getting it to go …

Rude staff, and the cup sizes don’t justify the prices. I’d avoid this place. There are plenty of good coffee spots nearby.

I wanted to buy coffee for home, like a big package (€35). But to be sure I wanted to taste it. The girl wanted me to pay €3,90 for 1 espresso shot. I left the shop. I do not think this is service.

The espresso was delicious with the cinnamon bread. Good coffee! Then I tried the cold coconut matcha, as in the photo, and it was absolutely delicious!

3 of us were jammed to a very small table/space, because all the big tables were occupied by individuals with laptops, despite all these notes of "laptop free space". Not sure what's the point of the concept if you allow them to sit anywhere regardless. The coffee was nice though.

Bocca beans are good, so they're not cheap. To replenish your weekly bean supply, you can shop online. It's better to make your weekly trip through Amsterdam through Kerkstraat and experience the quality you can get with these beans there. For 0.25-0.75 cents more than a station cappuccino, you can enjoy sublime Bocca quality. Of course, there is a downside: compromising on quality is virtually impossible.

The drinks and cake were very good.

The coffee was delicious ☕️ It was quite busy, but we were lucky and managed to get a seat at one of the round tables, which are super comfortable. The place has a great atmosphere and is perfect for a relaxing drink. Even though it was full, the service was quick and friendly.

Came to the cafe a couple days ago, the place is very nicely curated and the coffee is good, but the stuff is really rude. We were treated as if we were bothering them by being there, had to wait really long to be taken the order from, even tho there was no line at all, and on top of that we were approached really directly and rudely. It is really sad cause the place would have felt completely different if it wasn´t for that. It´s weird to create an inclusive space "from women to women" to then be so unfriendly..

The coffee is delicious, and the machines are beautiful. We went when there were a lot of runners and ended up in an area we weren't supposed to be in—it was a runners' zone! It was cool, but suddenly it smelled strongly of sweat! 💦

Amazing place for coffee. One of the best in Amsterdam. Always came here for lunch. Its perfect to have a chat with friends or to work from. The pastries are amazing and also the jasmine tea.

Today I bought freshly roasted "Soulmate" beans for the first time because I ordered a Sage Barista Express espresso machine. I immediately ordered espresso on the go because I was really curious about the taste. Wow, I've never had such a good espresso. It was almost syrupy, chocolatey, and very dark, just what I wanted. I'll be a regular customer from now on.

I've been to several cafes in Amsterdam, and this one has been my favorite. Why? ☕️ - They have a spacious seating area. You can use your laptop at some of their round tables. - The coffee is specialty coffee, and they roast it themselves. I recommend the LA DONNA variety for the oatmeal coffee. - They use ROA oat milk, which I haven't seen in many places, and it tastes amazing. - Water is available to take to your table in large pitchers. - Nuria's service was fantastic; the experience was wonderful, and she gave us great recommendations. I did wish they had a wider selection of pastries for breakfast, but the bread with cheese was delicious. - The prices are similar to other places in Amsterdam. A cappuccino is €3.80. - They're open from 8 am to 6 pm almost every day.

Best specialty coffee in Amsterdam. The place is very comfortable for relaxing with a book or working for a while. Nuria gave us excellent service. We had a hot chocolate and she recommended two delicious coffee varieties. We'll be back!

This is my second time here during my 4-night vacation in Amsterdam. I can genuinely say that it had been a long time since I drank a good latte until I visited this cafe. The atmosphere is also pretty nice; even if there is no music inside, I can enjoy the moment and easily talk without any problems.

Very disappointed with the behavior of one staff member (a red-haired girl). Unfriendly attitude, unpleasant facial expressions and strange behavior. For a place where people come to enjoy coffee and a good mood, this kind of service is unacceptable. Especially disappointing considering that the rest of the staff were polite.

The salesgirls were awful. No smiles whatsoever. A blonde woman kissing her husband while you were ordering. I came for breakfast this morning. I will never come again!!

I grabbed a coffee for work on Tuesday, December 9th, as I've been doing for months at this place. Initially, there was no staff present. After waiting at the counter for a while, a tall, thin, blonde woman came and angrily asked, "Yeah, what do you want?" Then I tried to scan my stamp card and she asked, "Are you going to stamp or not?" She looked very angry and mean. I went in very cheerful but came out grumpy, so I apparently paid to leave feeling sour. Seriously, I'm never coming back here after I've filled my stamp card; I felt awful all day.

Coffee and sweets taste good, but space i think is lacking organization: 1) its a huge area but with a very few seats. 2) Also, probably they are understaffed because waiting time for coffee is up to 10 min. 3) They have a table with menu but no prices mentioned- so you basically order without knowing how much you gonna pay

Today (Nov. 29) I went to Bocca in Amsterdam with my girlfriend for a cappuccino, but unfortunately, it was very disappointing. The milk was weak and watery and not well-frothed at all. I also noticed that the barista didn't purge the steam wand (not draining the water first) before frothing the milk, nor did he steam it out after. As a result, a layer of water initially formed in the milk, which you can taste in the cup. For a place like Bocca, and for the price you pay, I expect much more attention to technology and quality. This cappuccino was absolutely not worth the money. I hope this will be taken seriously, because I come here for good coffee.

Look, I’ve had coffee in thousands of places, but the moment I stepped into this one, I immediately regretted it. It took an absurd amount of time just to get a simple coffee, and what I finally received was a tiny cup that definitely wasn’t worth the price. The real issue here is the service. I understand that people get tired, and that working long shifts, especially in winter, is tough. But there is still a basic level of professionalism you expect when you walk into a café, and that was completely missing. The staff seemed uninterested and unwelcoming, and the whole atmosphere felt off. Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend this place for coffee at all. Amsterdam has so many better options where you will get proper service and a decent drink. This is simply not one of them.

It's usually very busy, but that's no surprise: the coffee is delicious. I usually have a cappuccino here, and it's always excellent. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the staff is super friendly. It's just a shame that some customers order one cup of coffee and then stay for half a day.

my iced matcha was nice, good matcha flavor, but I was disappointed by the customer friendliness. the girl helping me was quite rude and it felt like she didn’t want to help me. it is really not that difficult to just say ( for example ) hello and have a nice day. just the lack of respect made my experience less pleasant than it could’ve been.

An isolated coffee shop with limited number of products, large enough but without personality. Coffee is ok.

Unfortunately my coffee tasting got cancelled but Damien was super accommodating and offered a free coffee, bag of coffee and a refund. Plus really good selection of home brewed coffee.

We found Bocca via Google as it had high ratings in the area. Personally, I couldn’t see the hype for it. A huge, huge space for a coffee shop. It felt more like a university cafe. I had a hot chocolate and whilst they spend a good time and effort on your drinks, the hot chocolate was not that great. This was evidenced with all the big bits of chocolate at the bottom of my mug at the finish. A nice little stop to warm us up but not the most cosy and warm, especially with people leaving the door open every 10 seconds. Thank you for our experience. 💫

Nice and cozy coffee spot ☕️ They have a separate sitting area with comfy couches where you can really relax and enjoy your coffee. The layout is quite unique with the bar in the centre, giving the place a special vibe. You can also buy their coffee beans here — a great touch for home brewing lovers.
