Went with 3 friends on a Sunday around noon and surprisingly we were able to get (the only?) table for four in the back of the cafe. There was one guy doing all the cheffing and the kitchen is open so we were able to see the food get prepared. Two of us had the oyster mushroom grilled cheese, and the other two had the tomato confit on rye bread. I liked the cheese sandwich but beware that you get two big slices (on the photo you see only half a slice on the plate) and it was a bit much for me to finish it all, it was yummy though, especially with the sauce. The coffee was good and the service was nice.

We’ve been regulars at this café for a while and have really enjoyed it in the past — which is why today’s experience was especially disappointing. We stopped by around 8 am to grab a quick coffee before my husband went to work, with our one-year-old. Before ordering, we asked how long it would take and were told 5 minutes. We ended up waiting over 25 minutes. I had to asked about the delay as she seems to have forgotten about it. When the order finally arrived and I asked again, the server replied, “Luckily for you, croissant is very quick to eat.” When I asked a second time, she just brushed it off. The tone felt unnecessarily dismissive and rude — especially after such a long wait with a small child. Today’s experience honestly felt like 2 stars, but I’m giving 4 because we’ve had good experiences here in the past, and I hope this was just an off day. Most of the team has been great in the past, which is why this experience stood out so much. If we see the same service again, then we will def go to the coffee shop next door.

This place rocks. We came here both mornings of our stay in Amsterdam and were treated super well both times. The coffee is exceptional and the food is superb. We wished we had this place back in London.

A truly wonderful place with exceptionally kind people. We had a minor bike accident right in front of the cafe, and they went out of their way to help us. Highly recommended!

Had a dream of a toast. Best rye bread I’ve ever had, whipped feta, baked tomatoes. Could have it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Definitely recommended. The ambient is great, service lovely. We came back for a quick lunch some days later, had the omelette sandwich and the grilled cheese, both great.

One of the best coffees I had in Amsterdam! The baristas were so sweet, friendly and polite. Even the weather was perfect! I'm so sorry for the multiple fail card attempts but glad we got through it at the end and I didn't have to do any washup! =D😂🤗

Came here for breakfast on a Sunday morning, the coffee was the best I've had in Amsterdam and the oyster mushroom toastie was delicious and filling too. Great service, and a lovely ambience.

This coffee shop wasn't quite what I expected. The service felt a bit lacking, and while the coffee tasted alright, it wasn't anything special. The place also seemed a bit chaotic and could have been cleaner. It's a 3-star experience at best. If you're looking for a truly great coffee experience in Amsterdam, there's a much nicer roastery literally across the street.

Had the Braziliam filter coffee and the masala omelette and both were really great!

The place is nice and the coffee is amazing (taste and quality). Unfortunately the menu was a bit limited for breakfast.

The drip coffee was amazing. Very bright, fresh and a little spicy. I chose a non-acidic taste and when I usually do that in most cafes, it comes out with a slightly sour taste. But here you can have the exact taste described on the menu. Very pleasant experience!!

the omelette "burger" was excellent. The porridge was actually fantastic too, only it contained an ingredient with a smoky taste. This should be on the menu. We wouldn't have ordered the porridge if we had known that

“No reservations” but they will ask you to merge tables which is wildly annoying. Some people like personal space when they have the table first. Prefer cafes that respect that 🙏🏽

I think it’s a wonderful neighborhood cafe with some delicious meals served (small tho, like my mushroom toast). Order at the bar, but drinks and food delivered to your table. A short stroll from the park.

Came here for breakfast while staying nearby. The breakfast menu was small, but we really enjoyed the masala omelet sandwich and the kimchi grilled cheese. Throw in some great coffee, and we were more than satisfied. Service was fast and friendly.

I give 2 stars because I have to admit that the granola was delicious. The coffee was acidic (it can happen). What cannot happen is that the staff does not even look at you when you go to order and continues talking to another person. The girl they have at the bar is the rudest in history. I felt like I was in a public office, in front of a person who hates his job.

Very busy, limited in food options. Croissants sell out by 10am. Coffee is delicious, but to pay 4.50 for a capu I find overrated. Staff is oke, not very friendly but also not rude.

While looking for a coffee shop in the area, we decided to try Schuurmanoomkensgrassoti today, the coffee was very tasty and the pumpkin hazelnut cake was to die for! Nice people too!

Went there in order to try the white label coffee that everyone talking bout and we were happily surprised! Very nice and chill atmosphere-pet friendly, the coffee was great, we will visit again to buy some beans also and the food was amazing! What a beautiful day it was I was out for a walk near my hotel area I was staying at hotel west and I was just looking for a quick coffee on my walk . So glad I went in amazing atmosphere they also allow pets to be in there with and also has a whole table of Polaroid pictures of all the dogs and pets . Amazing coffee also there were few people on laptops enjoying the time amazing cafe to have coffee snacks super chill.

Schuurmanoomkesgrassotti is not only an excellent way to win any future games of scrabble or hangman, but also a lovely cafe. Unlike the cafe’s name, the coffees are smooth and no tongue trippers. They managed to create a uniquely chill vine without pandering to that run-of-the-mill dime-in-a-dozen minimalist expat taste that has overrun Amsterdam. All of the various cookies and cakes are well thought out and tasty, the place is classy and cosy. Will be making this a regular spot

Cute coffee place with small pastries. They also have breakfast and lunch dishes which we didn’t try though. The service is friendly and you self order and then get it served at the table. They also have bottles with tab water that you can grab. Their pastries are depending on the type vegan/ gluten free. The vibe in the cafe is nice :)

Wonderful spot for coffee and breakfast. I went three times while I was visiting Amsterdam and staying nearby. Service was attentive and kind, space was lovely, and the cappuccino was the best I had in Amsterdam. I tried the granola bowl, porridge, and earl grey cake - all super freshly made with unique flavor combos. They even packed my porridge to go for my trek to the airport on my last day ☺️ Will definitely return if I’m back in Amsterdam in the future.

My go to coffee spot when in Amsterdam. I often stay at Conscious Hotel Amsterdam City (The Tire Station) so schuurmanoomkensgrassotti is just across the road. Hands down the best coffee in Amsterdam and their food offering, although not a huge menu, is great. Almost exclusively have breakfast there everyday when I’m in town. Staff super friendly as well. It can get quite busy so you may have a short wait for a seat. But it’s worth it.

Nice little cafe on Overtoom, unfortunately no public Internet available, so for anyone who likes a quiet spot to work this spot does not meet the usual standard. Shame

I live nearby and see that it's always crowded which means it's a beloved place, but idk if it's just me but I got pretty bad service at the ordering counter the 2 times I've been there. Like, the baristas were kind of rude? It bothered me enough to leave this review. Anyways, the coffee is gourmet so it's good for people interested in specialty coffee

We’ve had breakfast here and had the granola bowl, the porridge plate, a juice and a good capuccino. I’d say is not cheap but food and coffee are good and place is cozy. Open on sunday is a plus and service was quick and nice.

Best coffee in the neighborhood IMHO.

Had coffee several times here while on holiday. It's a White Label Coffee café which I strongly recommend seeking out if you're a coffee lover/addict in Amsterdam (they have several scattered about the city). The coffee is strong but smooth. I had the Brazil as a flat white with oat milk, and my partner had the Bolivia as a filter brew, black. We both really enjoyed our choices and for a second time brought beans back home with us - this time more than a single bag which ran out too soon. We ate breakfast here once and had a cake on another occasion. I will miss their chocolate chip cookies (truly THE BEST and vegan as well). The chocolate raspberry cake (also vegan) was very good, and the granola bowl.

I've been here several times over several weeks and have always had excellent coffee while our children love the hot chocolate (made with real chocolate). Inside, the cafe exudes a cosy Scandinavian (Bergen-esque) atmosphere with great music and chilled staff, while there is a small amount of outdoor seating available on the side street for those precious sunny day. Good vibes all around.

A beautiful place to be. Coffee is always on point and consistent through all of the baristas. The food is always creative and delicious. The chefs take great pride in everything that is served on the occasions I have eaten. Morning sun on the side of the building makes for a cosy coffee spot also. I often ride across town for a coffee and hang out.

De vibe is heel relaxt, leuk personeel, leuke inrichting en fijne service. De gebakjes zijn super lekker (beste chocolate chip cookie ooit en dan nog vegan ook!) en veel koffie keuze. Ik moet wel zeggen dat ik hun filter lekkerder vind dan de cappuccino, die was me net wat bitter/grof gemalen (?) en klopte net niet helemaal, maar sowieso 5 sterren overall en probeer binnenkort gewoon weer een keer een cappuccino 😃

The coffee quality is sometimes the best coffee I’ve had however quality varies a lot. The owner is super nice but staffs service is a bit meh 🫤 Food is pretty good but similar to coffee it does vary quite a lot If quality was consistent then it would be an amazing place but still good 👍 Note - they could offer much more food and cakes and upsell cold drinks

Cozy, comfortable, and relax atmosphere!

food was nice but won’t go again. feels very impersonal and if i pay 14€ for a slice of toast with mushrooms, it’d be nice to have them reasonably hot instead of lukewarm after sitting on the counter for 10min. Would’ve mentioned this to the server but after the food was put on the table it appears our necessary interactions and my purpose of being in the venue (order and pay at the bar) were completed.

This cafe became instantly one of my favourite places. The space is really nice and lush, coffee was excellent, the kombucha coffee a winner, staff was super friendly and welcoming, nice music and vibes. Cakes looked scrumptious.

A very good coffeebar with good beans but unfortunately a rude staffmember. I don't know what happened to this place, because they used to have friendly staff, but today was really horrible. I really consider going to another coffeebar to buy my beans.

Heerlijk gegeten, mooie natuurwijnen. Vriendelijke bediening en verrassend interieur. Met name het dessert met rode biet vonden wij verrassend. Ja, ik heb het stukje vlees wel gemist, maar mijn partner vond het geserveerde menu heerlijk. Het restaurant biedt per avond 1 menu aan, met het beste van wat het seizoen op dat moment biedt. Het geserveerde brood is heerlijk. Kortom, als je in de buurt bent, loop even binnen. Dit restaurant serveert ook ontbijt en lunch. Zeker de heerlijke koffie proberen, mooie smaken aanwezig.

Werden hier naartoe gestuurd door een ander restaurant (geen plaats meer) en beleefden hier echt wel een avondje uit de duizend. We maakten duidelijk dat we niet veel "honger" hadden en men stelde ons voor om één menu met twee te delen, dit was een mooi voorstel en we kregen het ene na het andere gerecht, telkens weer vol nieuwe smaken, en dit alles vergezeld van telkens een ander wijntje, neen, dit was echt top !

El personal es extremadamente amable y está encantado de conversar sobre la comida y la bebida. Fuimos por el menú fijo del chef que era de 4 platos. Muy fresco y sabroso, ¡pero echamos de menos alguna forma de carbohidratos para absorber las salsas y el alcohol!
