Service very poor, had to ask for cutlery multiple times, food that is not served at the same time, and dirty plates where your food is placed. We will not go here again.

We cannot recommend this place. The service was completely disinterested. When we entered, we asked for a table, but the server simply walked past us. So we found one ourselves. Even though the server kept walking past us, we were completely ignored. Dishes, glasses, and cutlery were poorly washed. We waited a total of 1.5 hours for our order. One dish was forgotten. We will not be returning.

There were four of us at this restaurant today. Unfortunately, we can't recommend it. The tables were dirty, the Aperol Spritz had no spritz at all, and the service was practically nonexistent. We waited over 1.5 hours for our food (fish and chips... hardly a culinary challenge!) and only received it after asking for it... and even then, it came without cutlery or napkins. The fish was tasty and fresh, but that was the only positive thing about the evening. Instead of an apology, we were simply told that it would surely be better next time. Well, that's unlikely to happen for us, and we can only recommend that others find a nicer place that actually values ​​its guests!

I don't recommend it. The food is poor, the potatoes are raw and the meat is tough, dry and tasteless.

We went to Boelies in Hellevoetsluis in high spirits, but what a disaster. We had our drinks, but were still sitting at a dirty table, and then we had to wait 10 minutes for a menu, which we eventually had to ask for ourselves. At that very moment, the dirty dishes still on the table were quickly cleared away by the wait staff. On top of that, they looked trashy and half-naked. The tables were sticky with filth. By then, I had almost lost my appetite. When we were finally able to order, it took another 20 minutes before anything appeared on the table. And what did we get? Fries so hard you'd break your teeth on them. Potatoes that were still raw on the inside. And fresh beans? Forget it, they didn't have those. We had to find our own salt and pepper, because it wasn't listed anywhere. The absolute worst part: the waitress dropped a plate. All over my clothes. And guess what? No napkin, no "sorry," absolutely nothing. I sat there in dirty clothes and they just walked right past. I asked questions, but we didn't get most of them. Out on the terrace it wasn't any better. Everything was poorly maintained; it looked terrible. I don't pay to be treated like dirt. Boelies, do your homework. This was the first *and* the last time.

Very very slow to take our drinks order. 5 extra drinks arrived at our table that was for another table. The tables were very dirty with sand, spilled drinks and ants, they did not care to wash it! Very slow to take our food order. After 75 minutes the sun was setting down and it was getting dark and cold so we moved inside, with a clean table 😅. Then we got our order and then some extra plate of fish we did not order... We had one portion of fries for 5 people! (see pictures) we asked for more, the waitress said she'll see if it's possible... Needless to say she never came back. Hopefully the food was good. We were never asked if we wanted to order some more drinks and we did not dare to because of the wait. The place was barely half full, Friday May 1st. When we asked for the check, we got the wrong one of course... as did some other customers before us. I was then given the good one but there was one extra drink I had to have removed. Very poor experience, especially for the kids who were exhausted and starving. I would not recommend this place even of the food was good. Would not go again!

Had a lovely dinner outside on the terrace in the evening sun at Boelies tonight. And once again, it was so good, cozy, tasty, and pleasantly affordable. Worth repeating. Top notch!

We come here regularly with the dogs. First to the beach with the dogs and then a bite to eat. The food is good and the staff is friendly.

I ordered two mixed grill sets. The menu does not state whether extras are included. In general, the extras are a joke. Three small pieces of meat plus the extras are micro-portions. It is a farce, especially for 50 euros. I do not recommend the food, but the beer is okay.

Incredibly unfriendly service in a rather empty restaurant. The food was okay, nothing more, nothing less. However, it was 20% overpriced. With friendly service, it would have been fine, but as it was, it was simply awful.

The food is delicious. The service is good. The atmosphere is cozy.

The ladies behind the bar were having a great time together and weren't paying attention to the customers. Eating a bag of candy in full view of the customers is unacceptable. The fries, stew, hot meat, and pea soup were all gone, and that was at 1 p.m. The chicken curry sandwich was a complete disaster. No Surinamese sandwich, no curry, and no sweet and sour cucumber in sight. It's all a bit of a shame!

The homemade pea soup was excellent. Lovely patio and friendly service. Wonderful to relax after a long walk on the beach. Parking is usually no problem. The patio could use a bit more decoration to enhance the atmosphere.

We had a delicious meal here (Grandma's stew), served with mashed potatoes, fries, salad, and cauliflower. Friendly service, and we didn't have to wait long (it wasn't very busy, though). Beautiful location on the beach, ample parking, and easily accessible.

Boelies is always good!! Used to be!!! Now, 2025, awful. Hamburger with raw egg white and raw bacon when it's 30 degrees... but it varies. Sometimes good, sometimes bad.

Worse than before. The service was very slow; we were sitting for at least half an hour before we were even asked for drinks. The food is fine, but it all takes so long. And with a little one who's not even 2, that's very difficult. We didn't even get around to dessert because she wouldn't stay calm.

The food was incredibly delicious. Four of us ate here without a reservation. We had three burgers and one spare rib. We especially liked the fact that fries, fried potatoes, delicious vegetables topped with cheese, salad, and melon were placed in the middle of the table for everyone to help themselves to.

Boellies is a well-known restaurant on the Haringvliet. With friendly staff, "no-nonsense food," and reasonable prices. From the spacious terrace, you can practically paddle in the Haringvliet.

The restaurant visit was disappointing: the food was tasteless, the service was inattentive, and the price-performance ratio was not convincing.

Today we ate at Chateau Briant, worthy of a Michelin star. The meat was very tender and soft, prepared tableside. I didn't know this was possible at a beach bar. I'll definitely be back soon, especially for the friendly staff.

The location and view are beautiful. However, it took a really long time for us to order, and then another long time for us to receive our food. The price/performance ratio wasn't entirely fair considering the quality of the food and the slow service.

I've eaten at Boelies several times, and it's always been good and pleasant. Today, the food was again excellent and plentiful, but the waitresses were probably having an off day. When we sat down, it took ages for anyone to come to us. After taking our drink orders, it took forever to get our menu. I ended up going inside to get it myself. The two waitresses weren't very talkative and were grumpy. The food was delivered quickly, and again, it took a very long time to order additional drinks. There wasn't a waitress in sight on the terrace. When I went to pay, I saw three employees outside in a corner chatting (smoking?). After paying, they wished me a nice day, but when my wife and children left and the waitresses passed them, nothing was said. A shame, because once again, the food is good and plentiful. But the service was poor.

We had to wait a full 75 minutes for our food. Unfortunately, it wasn't worth the wait. The three people who had spare ribs were very disappointing; they lacked little flavor and didn't seem fresh. The vegetarian burger was a complete disappointment. It had no flavor and lacked a nice bite or sauce. A bun with a dry burger. We reported it and received nothing but an apology. A real waste of money. Go find a place with decent food.

Ik had een afschuwelijke ervaring. Ik ging bijna door de vloer, men dient van een Nearmis te spreken. Ik ben beledigd en er was een wespenplaag. Ik lag door de onveilige vloer bijna in het ziekenhuis. Klant is hier zeker geen koning. Fietsen tegen de muur aldaar werden zo de straat op gesmeten. Ik ben erg geschrokken van de klantonvriendelijkheid.

Service has really become bad, almost half an hour waiting for food to be taken and then almost another half hour before you get your food. Dessert also definitely half an hour waiting. Clearing up was almost not done at all, new customers had to sit at dirty, full tables and put everything aside themselves. Food was delicious but unfortunately because of the above many customers walked away.

This is the only restaurant - I know- which stops serving beer & other drinks as well as food - as it is too busy - the staff is separated from soliciting drinks or from ordering food or cleaning tables. Once the food was 1 hour plus overdue I enquired whether the cook had died which caused resumption of drinking orders for 3 beers & 1 mineral water and a promise that the “ missing” would arrive within 5 mins from the chef, which turned to alive afterall. Honestly never experienced such type of service and I pity the staff employed to face many customer complaints

I don't know where to start, but I'll keep it short. We had reserved a table for 5 people .. Got a table and sat down... waited quite a long time for drinks first... Got drinks then and the food again, we all picked something but waited a long time again... fine Ordered a starter and a dish... 1 drink out of 2 drinks still nothing called someone agreed then the starter came... was fine but was not anything special (bread, prawns and fish soup) fine to do... And then drinks again we were there at 18:30h Had been there at 20:00 and was done with it and then we wanted to cancel the order And pay for what we had eaten and drunk... And then the owner came I understand who was behind the bar all evening to say that food was ready, that it is busy, and etc... You know in advance that people are coming and you take that into account... Otherwise you just sell drinks and chips, meatballs and etc... Food came but was not tasty... Meat was just nothing .. We even got sick with diarrhea and stomach ache... Except for one person but he hadn't eaten anything... I would never go back there... I felt so sorry for the girls who were working just flying back and forth and feeling uncomfortable that there was such a mess there... You don't often have a bad experience.

Chaotically busy during Pentecost, waited a very long time and staff was clearly stressed. The chicken seemed to have defrosted quickly, was watery and bland. And 3 of our group suffered from diarrhea for 3 days! No more bullies for me

Went to Boelies on a Saturday afternoon. Ordered our lunch right away and that immediately put a damper on our visit. Waiting time at least 45 minutes!! After asking one of the two waitresses how long it would take, no response when she came back, tried again......the place was getting more and more crowded in the meantime and it was obvious.....the chef couldn't handle it, slow chef, and too few staff present. Boelies is nicely situated on the beach, a reasonably large terrace, toilets were clean, no more hand soap but, due to lack of staff, no attention was paid to that. Waitresses are nice and work their legs off to provide you with drinks and eventually, after a very long wait, the food.

Stopover on the way to Renesse. Had a nice lunch. Beautiful location on the lake. Nice big and sunny terrace. Uitsmijter was delicious. Service friendly and fast. Sons had bread with croquettes and and a tosti. Everyone satisfied. Park car nearby. Pleasant break from the journey

We had a perfectly nice coffee and were efficiently served by a nice younger waitress. Downside was that they only accept debit cards not credit cards.

What a disgrace. Waited an hour and fifteen minutes for the food. Twice we indicated that we wanted to leave and then the food "suddenly" arrived within 10 minutes. Bread not well done, fries lukewarm, you had to look for the shrimp at surf and turf. And to top it all off, we had 1 bowl of fries and 1 salad to share. And that for a whopping 74 euros. Chapeau, no more Boelies for us. The staff can't do anything about it, they are really running wild. Hopefully in a few years there will be another operator who can manage it 🤞

Boelies, beautifully situated on the Haringvliet, occupied this morning by many dachshund enthusiasts, who had all found a place after their monthly walk. Despite this small invasion, service was smooth! The dog lovers enjoyed various drinks and dishes. Some opted for a cup of coffee or tea, which was very nice. Others took advantage of the modest yet varied dishes on the menu. One large bowl of fish soup, for example, but also flatbread, generously topped with carpaccio, not only looked beautiful, but tasted great, as my wife and our other table companion said. Opposite me, another table companion was enjoying flatbread with spicy chicken. I personally chose pulled pork with bacon. Nice and spicy, crispy fries topped with melted cheese, pieces of delicious meat, and don't forget the bacon. So really enjoy it. Add to this a delicious specialty beer for the men, and a nice and well-filled glass of wine for the ladies, and the final conclusion is that both the dachshunds and we can look back on a beautiful Voornse dachshund walk! What a sad place. Paying top price for a cocktail and then getting a small cup with not even half of what you are supposed to get. Then you ask if they have lemonade for the little kids, because it was actually behind the bar. But that's really not possible, that's only for the staff. We quickly had the menu picked up again. What a ball tent.
