A bit overhyped, low ceiling detracts from the appearance

We received a warm and friendly welcome at the hotel, unfortunately this was not the case at the bar.

A very nice place in Maastricht, superb view, we ate well, and their non-alcoholic cocktails are worth the trip.

The staff and the food make it and then comes the view !!!!! Wow

Okay seriously, this is really amazing. Creamy bell pepper risotto. This is creative cooking, done in exactly the right way. Everyone needs to taste this. The view is top-notch, the service (Liv) quick and friendly. And a dragonfly even landed next to me, while 15 minutes ago I was standing there admiring the dragonfly artwork. 8 floors up, weird. Don't hesitate, just do it!!

Prime location and surprising dishes!

This is my second visit. The first visit we only drank so cocktails and drinks are amazing. Yesterday was my second visit with food and cocktails and the restaurant/bar itself is amazing and breathtaking with the beautiful views. Quality of food was ok but would prefer higher standard for that kind of restaurant or more options on the menu, but presentation of the food was really nice. For example the truffle chips were soggy, not salty whatsoever and almost no taste, my friends rendang meal was absolutely cold so definitely not satisfied with that unfortunately. I mentioned to him he should say something but he just left it at that. Staff, definitely could be more welcoming and smiley to make the atmosphere better, but instead they looked like they didn’t event want to be there. I was a waitress myself and I understand sometimes you have good days or bad days, however you ALWAYS have to put on a show and smile and make the guests feel welcomed :) no matter what day you’re having or if you don’t want to be at work. Music was absolutely great we really liked it, and it was easy to talk to. So maybe the third time I will try to visit I am really hoping for some improvement.

Fantastic cocktails with a magnificent view and friendly staff. It is just a shame that the sriracha mayo was forgotten with the gyozas and the accompanying salad/cucumber dried out, but all in all, we had a wonderful time.

We had a delicious meal and the staff were very friendly. It was nice to be able to speak Maastricht dialect when taking our order. That is quite a rarity these days. Definitely recommended. With a nice view of Maastricht.

Delicious cocktails. We just had to wait quite a long time for our food. But the food was more than worth the wait! Super tasty!

The atmosphere was lovely. Unfortunately, we had to wait a very long time for our food. Some of the burgers were quite dry. The bar could have done significantly more business; we often found ourselves without drinks. To compensate for the long wait, we received complimentary hot drinks, but sadly, no shots.

Tasty food with a nice view over Maastricht.

A chic and pleasant place. We had a reservation for 8:30 pm, were seated at our table at 8:45 pm, and the waiter (who was rather mediocre) told us the kitchen closed at 9:00 pm. We were given menus in the hallway, while waiting in line, so we could make our choices beforehand, as it would likely be too late once we were seated. The value for money was very average; the prices are quite high-end. The dishes were good, but nothing extraordinary to justify the prices.

The staff is very unprofessional. A plump girl working there (dark hair, light eyes) is very disrespectful to guests, supposedly a manager. She wanted to force us to pay for the fish that was swimming in oil, even though we took just a bite and sent it back to the kitchen. Scandalous!

Had a tasty meal (2 out of 3 dishes), but the curry sauce with the Japanese dish was downright sauce from a packet of Honig or Knorr; very disappointing, a thick sauce and completely tasteless.

I had such an amazing experience here. The menu changes every 3–4 months, which makes it feel fresh and exciting every time. The staff is always very welcoming (especially Liv!!), the location is perfect, and the prices are surprisingly good for the quality. Definitely a place I’d come back to.

Ordered an Old Fashioned, but what I got looked nothing like one - as you can see from the image. It was too light, overly diluted, and lacking any depth of flavor. Honestly the worst Old Fashioned we’ve had so far. We also used to order an Amaretto Sour, which has now been removed from the menu, and while I understand the waiter couldn’t accommodate it, it’s still disappointing given the current quality of cocktails. On top of that, we used to get nuts with our drinks, which is no longer offered. Overall, the experience has noticeably declined.

Had a ridiculously bad experience at this place! Not worthy of a single star! We had made a reservation here on Saturday for drinks for a friend's birthday. When we were shown to a table, we ordered our drinks. We indicated that we did not want to dine and only wanted to have drinks, to which the waitress kindly replied: "No problem." After finishing our drinks, another waiter came over and practically pressured us to dine, saying that we weren't allowed to come here just for drinks. Eventually, the owner also came over to say that we had to dine and that their table was "too expensive" for just drinks. Very strange and something I've never experienced before. This was definitely my last visit! And to get back to the owner of Bold: No, it wasn't 3 cups of coffee, but 7 drinks and Nacho snacks!

I've parked the car right in front of this place so many times. I've also seen people standing on the roof enjoying themselves. Now, for the first time, I've been there myself for food and drinks. Besides the amazing view, this is a place where you really get spoiled. Good food, sometimes surprising too, delicious drinks, and at a fair price. Worth every euro. The staff is extremely friendly. This is definitely worth a repeat visit!

Far too expensive for bad quality. The food was bad. Cold and tasteless. Not as described on the menu. There was no apology from the staff or offer of a different dish. In the end, I didn’t have to pay for the bad dish, but I went home hungry. Not going back.

Nice concept and very hospitable, drinks could have been brought a bit faster "(cocktails always take a bit longer but this was a bit too)" otherwise everything was organized really well and the atmosphere was great.

The food was delicious, but unfortunately you can't order a full menu, so you have to order fries and other things separately, which makes it expensive. I was sitting near the entrance, and you don't want to sit there because there are people behind you waiting to be seated, so they're watching you eat. The view is beautiful, just fun to do once. After one visit, you've seen enough.

Okay, rooftop bar. In terms of views, I think there are better locations. The service is friendly, and the cocktails are drinkable. We didn't eat, so I can't comment on that.

Nice restaurant, fast service. The Valentine's Day menu was tasty but nothing special. The sharing dessert for two consisted of one chocolate mousse cake and one raspberry tart. All in all, quite pricey for what we ate.

The view is great. The ambiance is too. The staff is just averagely friendly. Nothing special. The food is very good but far too expensive. The pho was bad, bland, and also overpriced. €20 for a boring little soup… I won't be eating there again; there are better options, although the vegan and vegetarian choices are quite good. Parking was expensive, but not a problem.

A great view over Maastricht. Only recommended.

It is a beautiful and hip location, but it was chilly on this chilly day. Many guests, including us, kept their coats or vests on. The side chairs without backrest (stools actually) are not comfortable for a long sit and it was a long sit because the kitchen was a bit overwhelmed by the large groups. I estimate that we had to wait up to 1.5 hours for our tasty main course.

The food was good and the cocktails were very tasty, just a shame about the service, everything took a long time, it took a long time before they came to take our order than before the drinks came, when they forgot our water I also had to make a lot of effort to get someone's attention. We then had to wait a long time for our main course and again no one could be reached. It was disheartening to have two of them wiping a table while you tried your best to get their attention. But overall it was a nice spot.

Such a cool little world of its own 'up there'. You take the sweetheart to the 8th and boom you are in a hip different world. Beautiful sunset and very tasty food!

To start with, a great view of beautiful Maastricht and the Bassin. The food and drinks made it a wonderful evening. A place to be or to go to.

Came here looking for a nice lunch spot. Unfortunately just a bit too chilly to sit outside. What a view! Lunch menu somewhat limited, but the salads were delicious. Given the decoration and atmosphere, I expected more from the quality of the capuchino. But definitely a place to come back to!

My friend and I had a lovely meal together. We enjoyed fries with truffle, a Caesar salad, and beef carpaccio, accompanied by two glasses of wine. The atmosphere outside was incredibly cozy, making the experience even more enjoyable. It was my friend’s first time trying these dishes, and he absolutely loved them. If you have friends or family visiting Maastricht for the first time, I highly recommend this place!

Very nice view of the city (but it depends on the location of the table), quality food and cocktails. The service is satisfactory, but could be a bit smoother, sometimes we had to wait a lot for a waiter to come, one time they spilled our drinks but didn’t replace it, and considering the high prices, that was not very nice. Overall, it’s worth the hype, but not a place where I’ll go regularly.

We came here for the 2nd time. Cocktails, service and atmosphere are great! The Caesar's salad did not meet my expectations: chicken pieces cooked in the microwave instead of fried as they should be. Not edible for me and leave it alone. Reported to the waitress and received a coffee, thank you. Hopefully the chef will take this feedback to heart.

What a great experience at Rooftopbar Bold in Maastricht! The food was delicious and clearly prepared with a lot of love. The service was friendly, attentive and made us feel completely at home. And then the cocktails... a real party for your taste buds! The atmosphere on the roof terrace makes it complete, with a beautiful view of the city. Definitely recommended and we will definitely come back!

Inaccessible by choice. We were greeted by a rude waiter who said the one accessible side would be impossible to travel with wheelchair because they had a private function there. When said they chose to make it inaccessible they said it was because of the plant racks and they were very accessible, not seeing the whole point. We lost all appetite and left to find friendlier places.

However, I’d recommend avoiding peak hours, as it can be difficult to find a spot then. The drinks are well-made and enjoyable, but they’re a bit on the expensive side. Slightly overrated location. Price/quality is very skewed. Of course you will get a drink on the house if they messed up. I expected more...and get those cobwebs out from between the lights...

We stayed at this hotel after a long day at a course and decided to unwind with a couple of drinks at the rooftop bar. The view was great, but the service left much to be desired. We had two drinks and paid for them around 11/11:10 PM. At 11:30 PM, the bartender announced the last call, but we weren’t informed beforehand because we had already paid. It seems they assumed that since we had paid, we were finished drinking. This was incredibly frustrating because, at 11:37 PM, when we wanted to order another drink, we were flat-out denied without warning or any attempt to find a solution. The bartender was rude and dismissive, and the whole situation felt poorly handled. For a hotel bar, I expected much better communication and professionalism. We left feeling disappointed and unwelcome, which is a shame because the atmosphere had potential. I wouldn’t recommend this bar unless management improves the service and trains staff to handle situations more courteously.

Nice place well located in Maastricht. The atmosphere is on a rooftop with a beautiful view of Maastricht even in the evening. The layout is very cozy and nice. The seats are comfortable and the tables fit well into the frame. Everything is good. The decoration is adequate. The cuisine is varied and there is quite a choice between fries, starters, snacks and desserts. There is something for everyone. The cocktails are also well made. The mojito lacked a little sugar but otherwise everything was perfect. The service was professional and well organized as well. Everyone knew their role.

We visited on the evening of 17/11, and while the food was good, what truly ruined the experience was the awful attitude of the waitress with the bright blonde hair. She had a highly condescending demeanor, as if she was doing us a favor by serving us. It made us feel unwelcome, and we hesitated to ask for anything else because she seemed genuinely annoyed whenever we spoke to her. After all, we decided not to order dessert and cocktails and chose to continue our evening elsewhere. It's a shame because the view is beautiful, and the other waitress was lovely.

Overpriced, poor food quality and unfriendly staff.

I gave it two additional tries after the first visit in hopes the poor customer service the first time was a one time event. Unfortunately, in my opinion, the fantastic views are not worthy of the very poor customer service. I would pay the high prices for mediocre food for the view, but the way we were “greeted”, and served our drinks and food made me feel frustrated each time we left. It almost feels like they don’t actually want customers coming to their restaurant. There are many places in Maastricht that have beautiful view (on ground level) with fantastic customer service and food.

Well, wouldn’t it be the location, it would deserve only 3 stars. The food is average, the drinks are not special, wine selection is really poor and not even a normal draft beer. The view is nice so and maybe more a place for summer, outside, some drinks and nibbles.
