A great view over Maastricht. Only recommended.

It is a beautiful and hip location, but it was chilly on this chilly day. Many guests, including us, kept their coats or vests on. The side chairs without backrest (stools actually) are not comfortable for a long sit and it was a long sit because the kitchen was a bit overwhelmed by the large groups. I estimate that we had to wait up to 1.5 hours for our tasty main course.

The food was good and the cocktails were very tasty, just a shame about the service, everything took a long time, it took a long time before they came to take our order than before the drinks came, when they forgot our water I also had to make a lot of effort to get someone's attention. We then had to wait a long time for our main course and again no one could be reached. It was disheartening to have two of them wiping a table while you tried your best to get their attention. But overall it was a nice spot.

Such a cool little world of its own 'up there'. You take the sweetheart to the 8th and boom you are in a hip different world. Beautiful sunset and very tasty food!

To start with, a great view of beautiful Maastricht and the Bassin. The food and drinks made it a wonderful evening. A place to be or to go to.

Came here looking for a nice lunch spot. Unfortunately just a bit too chilly to sit outside. What a view! Lunch menu somewhat limited, but the salads were delicious. Given the decoration and atmosphere, I expected more from the quality of the capuchino. But definitely a place to come back to!

My friend and I had a lovely meal together. We enjoyed fries with truffle, a Caesar salad, and beef carpaccio, accompanied by two glasses of wine. The atmosphere outside was incredibly cozy, making the experience even more enjoyable. It was my friend’s first time trying these dishes, and he absolutely loved them. If you have friends or family visiting Maastricht for the first time, I highly recommend this place!

We came here for the 2nd time. Cocktails, service and atmosphere are great! The Caesar's salad did not meet my expectations: chicken pieces cooked in the microwave instead of fried as they should be. Not edible for me and leave it alone. Reported to the waitress and received a coffee, thank you. Hopefully the chef will take this feedback to heart.

Very nice view of the city (but it depends on the location of the table), quality food and cocktails. The service is satisfactory, but could be a bit smoother, sometimes we had to wait a lot for a waiter to come, one time they spilled our drinks but didn’t replace it, and considering the high prices, that was not very nice. Overall, it’s worth the hype, but not a place where I’ll go regularly.

What a great experience at Rooftopbar Bold in Maastricht! The food was delicious and clearly prepared with a lot of love. The service was friendly, attentive and made us feel completely at home. And then the cocktails... a real party for your taste buds! The atmosphere on the roof terrace makes it complete, with a beautiful view of the city. Definitely recommended and we will definitely come back!

Inaccessible by choice. We were greeted by a rude waiter who said the one accessible side would be impossible to travel with wheelchair because they had a private function there. When said they chose to make it inaccessible they said it was because of the plant racks and they were very accessible, not seeing the whole point. We lost all appetite and left to find friendlier places.

This rooftop bar offers a fantastic setting with beautiful views, making it an ideal spot for a relaxed evening. However, I’d recommend avoiding peak hours, as it can be difficult to find a spot then. The drinks are well-made and enjoyable, but they’re a bit on the expensive side. The food is also tasty and nicely presented, though the portions are a little too small for the price. Overall, it’s a great place to unwind, but be prepared for the premium pricing and timing your visit wisely for the best experience.

Slightly overrated location. Price/quality is very skewed. Of course you will get a drink on the house if they messed up. I expected more...and get those cobwebs out from between the lights...

We stayed at this hotel after a long day at a course and decided to unwind with a couple of drinks at the rooftop bar. The view was great, but the service left much to be desired. We had two drinks and paid for them around 11/11:10 PM. At 11:30 PM, the bartender announced the last call, but we weren’t informed beforehand because we had already paid. It seems they assumed that since we had paid, we were finished drinking. This was incredibly frustrating because, at 11:37 PM, when we wanted to order another drink, we were flat-out denied without warning or any attempt to find a solution. The bartender was rude and dismissive, and the whole situation felt poorly handled. For a hotel bar, I expected much better communication and professionalism. We left feeling disappointed and unwelcome, which is a shame because the atmosphere had potential. I wouldn’t recommend this bar unless management improves the service and trains staff to handle situations more courteously.

Nice place well located in Maastricht. The atmosphere is on a rooftop with a beautiful view of Maastricht even in the evening. The layout is very cozy and nice. The seats are comfortable and the tables fit well into the frame. Everything is good. The decoration is adequate. The cuisine is varied and there is quite a choice between fries, starters, snacks and desserts. There is something for everyone. The cocktails are also well made. The mojito lacked a little sugar but otherwise everything was perfect. The service was professional and well organized as well. Everyone knew their role.

We visited on the evening of 17/11, and while the food was good, what truly ruined the experience was the awful attitude of the waitress with the bright blonde hair. She had a highly condescending demeanor, as if she was doing us a favor by serving us. It made us feel unwelcome, and we hesitated to ask for anything else because she seemed genuinely annoyed whenever we spoke to her. After all, we decided not to order dessert and cocktails and chose to continue our evening elsewhere. It's a shame because the view is beautiful, and the other waitress was lovely.

Overpriced, poor food quality and unfriendly staff.

I gave it two additional tries after the first visit in hopes the poor customer service the first time was a one time event. Unfortunately, in my opinion, the fantastic views are not worthy of the very poor customer service. I would pay the high prices for mediocre food for the view, but the way we were “greeted”, and served our drinks and food made me feel frustrated each time we left. It almost feels like they don’t actually want customers coming to their restaurant. There are many places in Maastricht that have beautiful view (on ground level) with fantastic customer service and food.

Well, wouldn’t it be the location, it would deserve only 3 stars. The food is average, the drinks are not special, wine selection is really poor and not even a normal draft beer. The view is nice so and maybe more a place for summer, outside, some drinks and nibbles.

This bar is fantastic. The cocktail prices are high but the 2 cocktails I had were worth it. One of the best Pornstar Martinis ever drunk (and I test it everywhere I go). A spoon for passion fruit was missing, but I received it immediately when I asked. The Nutty Italian cocktail was also great. The blonde lady behind the bar was great and conjured up one cocktail after another. Experienced and smooth but with an eye for detail. No ready-made mess. The bartender had a nice chat with us. I think they train their employees well here or hire well-trained staff, but in any case this is reflected in the quality. Too bad we had to pay another 6 euros for parking. But hey, you also pay for the location here.

Didn't get around to drinking. Received a very rude answer that everything was full and there were still 8 tables available. No effort was even made to take a look or offer to wait a while...one clearly didn't feel like working 🤣

Arrogant, slow and self-loving waiters. The entire bar stinks so intensively of the food that you can throw your clothes in the litter box after eating. Only one elevator.

Room on the top floor with a beautiful view over the whole of Maastricht. I recommend coming around sunset or in the evening just for the view. The place is very modern, it has both an internal and external part. Not bad food and the guys who work there are very friendly and quick. Not recommended if you are looking for something cheap.

View is okay, but not directly over the city of Maastricht. They really don't want you to come just for the view, so make sure you order something.

First off, pleasant view on the city from the rooftop. BUT the food was disappointing, the fish was raw and the risotto was okay. Overall, needs major improvement, please work on it, thanks :)

Hospitality is hard to find... but there is a beautiful view, but unfortunately the atmosphere that the staff brings makes this experience less enjoyable

If you come here for the view, go during the day. If you come here for the cocktails, don't go. The worst cocktails with the most ice and the most expensive prices. Which you also have to wait 20 minutes for, unless you are a group of women. Really ridiculous. It's a bit in line with the attitude of (especially) the male staff. Out of touch, not knowledgeable, not service-oriented and unfriendly. Too bad, because the place is quite beautiful. Go spend 25eu somewhere else for 2 slush puppies.

Vraiment très bel endroit, Une vue extraordinaire, de très bon cocktail et les start-up sont excellent. Je vous conseille d’y aller sans hésiter car ça vaut vraiment la peine. J’y retournerai car j’ai vraiment bien aimé le concept. Très facile d’y aller car un parking juste à côté.

Very nice location, friendly staff and fantastic view. We ordered some snacks with the Prosecco and they were very large portions, the bowl of fries and the whole bread were enough for 4 people and there were 2 of us.

What a pathetic undertaking, arriving with 13 people and being refused because dinner has to start soon. The place was completely empty, unfriendly fuss and reception. Which entrepreneur doesn't want 13 people sipping cocktails? So if you want to have your nose bitten off by the staff, this one is definitely recommended! The staff has no friendliness to address us in a polite manner. That would have changed the situation enormously! We went to drink our cocktails elsewhere.

Cool place with a view. Unfortunately, food and drinks are mediocre and slightly overpriced. The worst part though is the service- most waiters do their job, but a smile or even basic politeness are completely lacking. Every staff member behaves like they would rather be somewhere else doing something else witje someone else, and sentences are reduced to brief statements. Never been in a place where we felt so unwelcome. Lucky (well, from our point of view), everyone else received a similar treatment.

Great views of the city coupled with tasty food and drinks. I found the Asian shrimp salad to be flavorful, and I’m not sure you can go wrong with anything on their drink menu. I got a table on the edge of the rooftop, so had great lunchtime views

The view is amazing, we had a very beautiful sunset last time! Workers are friendly service is fast. The nachos are our fav and the drinks are okay! But we think some dishes/drinks are a little overpriced, I guess you pay for the vibe:) It's an enjoyable place!

3.5 stars We ate and drank here. Was a bit skeptical beforehand because of the mixed reviews (and the karaage chicken snack which was ok, but not special), but the food was really quite good! Good burger, pad thai was tasty. Only the bibimbap had a bit too much white rice in relation to the somewhat meager toppings (the tofu was really delicious!) Cocktails were good too. It was all quite pricey, but it is also a fairly hip location. Service was also good, I didn't feel like I had to wait long for anything.

Nice place for cocktails and great food, especially when the weather is fantastic. Even their mocktails are good. Note that outside rooftop fills up pretty quickly, so its recommended to at least make a reservation if you are more than two people

Lovely view and good atmosphere.

Old and new don't go together as well as they usually do in Holland. The old visible construction is really shabby. The cappuccino was served in a mug and was too hot.

Beautiful location. Service was doing nothing while we clearly wanted to steal and then charge €6 for a nasty beer. I used to come here regularly but after the umpteenth time I gave up.

They really need to improve as custumer service. I used to love this place but I think the attitude of the employees towards the customers should not be so harsh and there should always be a table for them if a reservation is not required for drinking. They need to consider of it.

Prachtig uitzicht! De frietjes parmezaan zijn ook echt super! Het eten is alle keren dat we daar zijn geweest matig, weinig smaak. Wat we echt belachelijk vonden is dat een simpel pilsje €6 kost. Het was niet eens te drinken.

Reservatie om 17:00 met de gedachten dat het helemaal vol zat omdat op de website alles volzet was. Kwamen aan in een bijna leeg restaurant met een enorme visgeur. Werden snel geholpen in het Engels terwijl we duidelijk Nederlands spraken. Het aanbod op de kaart was 1. In het Engels 2. Gerechten waar we niet veel van begrepen 3. De helft van de kaart was enkel tijdens de lunch verkrijgbaar (bv. Pinsa) Eenmaal ons eten arriveerde begon de nachtmerrie. De loaded Fries bestonden uit meer mayo dan frieten. De Parmezaanse kaas leek op plastic waardoor we angst hadden om het te eten. De Sotu soep was oké, maar ook niet waanzinnig goed voor deze prijs. Op de website leek alles heel erg chique, maar dit viel ons hard tegen.

Beautiful thing, The only thing I regret is that I had to wait almost 45 minutes to eat it, but it was so delicious that it was all worth it.
