As a deer, you have to forage for food yourself. At 't Hijgend Hert, you only need to find a spot on the terrace, which is made up of several charming terraces. The staff is quick and friendly enough, the food is good, and there are several links to the deer. A place that deer will envy and visitors can enjoy without panting.

A beautiful Boscafé, beautifully decorated and with a lovely setting. I arrived by bike, and there was plenty of space to park my bike. I had an electric bike and was able to charge my bike at a charging station. We also received friendly service from the staff, and everything went very smoothly. The prices seem a bit high at first glance, but when you see what you get, you understand why.

Super busy and cozy terrace, great for relaxing after a bike ride or hike. On a Saturday afternoon in summer, it's packed with motorcyclists, cyclists, and hikers.

Unique location with excellent service and a great menu. But why aren't there any prices listed for the specialty beers? I'd like to know in advance what a Blond Hert, a Koninck, or a Zundert beer costs. The latter is 7 euros and 10 cents! Half of my lunch meal was for a drink. If only I had known that beforehand... Please list the prices of the different beers on the menu to help you decide. Makes perfect sense, right?

Beautiful, unique location in the woods. You can take a lovely walk beforehand and then enjoy a delicious snack or drink on the lovely terrace of the forest cafe. The service is very friendly. Enjoy!

Wonderful place, very retro but still nice and cozy! The beer was served wrong at first, but regardless we had very delicious beers. The food is beautiful and delicious. I admired the animals, donkeys, peacocks, rabbits. The place is child-friendly and transparent. Sunscreen stretched out at the entrance, for which I have special respect!

The food was delicious and the linens were washed very quickly. Simply a super cozy location.

This restaurant has it all: atmosphere, children can play happily, a lovely forest walk, and above all, delicious food and drinks. The rack of lamb is highly recommended, a must-have, finger-licking good. 😍😍😍 The venison beer even has a bob version. In other words, enjoyment with a capital "E."

Very cozy, nice place full of fun

Enjoyed a delicious apple pie with whipped cream and a good cappuccino! If you get there early, there's a chance the apple pie will still be warm! The dining experience is also excellent. We've been several times, and it's always delicious.

Dry apple pie, hardly any apple, more like dry dough; the crust of the strawberry pie was dry and stale. Rude, disinterested service, curt, you and you. Not recommended.

I can't think of a better terrace with a view in the Netherlands... Truly the most beautiful terrace. And what a great atmosphere. Plus, the food is ALSO very good. It's a shame it's a bit of a drive for us, otherwise we'd be here every weekend!

I was disappointed overall. The food wasn't presented very nicely and there wasn't much to it. Even for me, a light eater, the staff wasn't very friendly. They looked around while you were placing your order and were very rushed. The food arrived within 5 minutes. However, the atmosphere inside was nice and the place was beautiful.

A great stop for your bike ride! From here, you can also enjoy beautiful trail runs and hikes. Great atmosphere, beautiful location in the forest on top of a mountain, and delicious food on the menu. The potato with feta was delicious, as was the Hert beer!

Although the location is idyllic, the menu is packed with local products, and the service is friendly. The service leaves much to be desired. On a weekday around 3:00 PM, we were seated at a dirty table, which remained that way until we repeatedly asked for a cloth. We waited over 30 minutes for service, even after repeatedly addressing someone. Sandwiches and soup were served without cutlery. The taste was reasonable, but without any adornment whatsoever: a bare plate without a napkin. A real shame.

I've been coming here for years, first for the smoked chicken, now for pasta or steak. Make a reservation on summer days because it's always busy. A wonderful atmosphere, beautifully situated in the heart of nature. Great for little ones, and there's plenty to see, too, with the animals roaming around in the meadow and on the terrace.

Beautiful beautiful place in the middle of the forest to eat and/or drink something. You can sit outside very nicely with a very beautiful view. Trees and lots of greenery around you. From here beautiful hiking trails and cycling routes. Short walk from the parking lot. Friendly staff.

Good food and drinks before or after a walk through the forest. Or without a walk. Recommended is the deer beer. The regular or the bob version. Terrace is nicely covered. Under the big tree the coolest.

Al enkele malen hier geweest als tussenstop tijdens het wandelen. Heel vriendelijke bediening, grote keuze aan biertjes en voor de rest gewoon genoten van de locatie.

Hier gegeten, ambiance was leuk, het personeel was prima. De zogenaamde uiensoep “volgens traditioneel Frans recept, afgeblust met witte wijn en gegratineerd met kaas” leek wel een emmer behangplak. Al vaker Franse uiensoep elders gegeten, maar dit sloeg werkelijk nergens op. Zeker niet vers gemaakt. Totale afknapper en terug naar de keuken. Achteraf spijt dat ik er voor betaald heb.

Vrees dat de kok zijn dag niet had maar het eten was zeer zeer slecht . En dat is jammer . Plek is zo mooi maar wat je op je bord krijgt is van zeer slechte kwaliteit. Zalm met kwak sauce , taaie biefstuk met 1 koud stukje wortel en flink zoeken naar 4 keiharde haricoverts , satéh in een kom met kroepoek en tot overmaat van ramp , slappe lauwe frites ( in Limburg 🤬). Kortom geen succes en 100% niet voor herhaling vatbaar. Ze zoeken personeel voor in de bediening maar ik zou op zoek gaan naar een betere kok en wellicht ook de menukaart eens aanpassen ………

Een aantal jaar geleden hier geweest, toen 4 sterren gegeven. Plekje is nog steeds mooi, fantastisch weer en op het terras gezeten. Maar eten was matig en prijs hoog. Zonde van het geld.

The location is great and ideal to enjoy a delicious beer or something tasty to eat after a nice walk. We were helped by Kevin, what a professional! We had another wonderful day, partly due to the friendly and good staff. A real recommendation!
