A great place to have a drink with colleagues or friends. And play a game of golf at the same time.

We had great time here with team of 14 colleagues. We booked one hour play + main dish and some bites in advanced. Played 'Jeu de Boules' on two lanes for one hour was sufficient and fun, while have drinks and bites. The atmosphere is relaxed, but the venue can be bit noisy when people get excited. Service is good, quick and polite also reservation and admin stuff is taken off in good/efficient manner. Main dishes are bit simple but good enough for the occasion. Great deal, well recommended!

Company/staff party at The Boules. We had excellent communication with the organizers via email, and they always responded quickly. They were flexible with cancellations and received extra snacks in exchange for some cancellations. The gentleman behind the bar was very friendly and welcoming! And the food was delicious. There were 16 of us, and everyone enjoyed the three courses.

Great location, atmospheric, and with friendly staff. The waiters will come to you to order snacks and drinks. A fun outing. Guaranteed success!

Fun indoor pétanque venue in Utrecht — a great idea if you want to have a drink and play something at the same time. We had a really good time, the atmosphere is relaxed and it’s a nice evening activity. The only thing to note is that we didn’t get any explanation of the rules, and since we’d never played before, we later realized we hadn’t been doing everything correctly. Still, it was a very enjoyable experience overall.

We had a fantastic work drinks party here! A group of 12 enjoyed drinks and played pétanque. The extensive snack platter was delicious, drinks were served quickly, and the staff were very friendly and helpful!

Had a private-society after-event dinner in the Boules Club. The service was flawless, the food was delicious and the choice of drinks was great too. All in all a pleasant evening.

Went here for the second time with colleagues. This time for the karaoke, which just opened. A real hit! We actually booked the largest room, but due to cancellations, we were able to rebook it last minute to a smaller one. Excellent service! The staff was once again friendly, and the rooms are simple but do the job: dark paint with a corner sofa, a fun atmosphere poster on one wall, and a karaoke screen with a computer. The largest room also has disco balls and a small "stage." The rooms are especially well-priced compared to places like DoT in Utrecht. Good to know: * The room does get warmer the more people sing 😅, so dress in layers. * We had to figure out how the scoring mechanism works; the staff didn't (yet) know either. * The room for 8 people doesn't have a window. The other two rooms do. This is a feature we didn't quite understand. We would at least hang a roller blind there so that you can choose whether you want to sing at the top of your lungs with or without onlookers.

A very good experience. We had a great time playing, and the value for money is great. The staff is very attentive. I recommend it for a good time and a good-value drink.

Great private karaoke!! I celebrated my birthday, the staff was very friendly and welcoming, the karaoke booth worked perfectly, the drinks were delicious, all in all, highly recommended!

We sang at the karaoke box. We got a free upgrade to a large box, and there was a wide selection of songs! Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful time here on Wednesday afternoon!! And... I think we had the best goat cheese sandwich ever!! 🤭 Very friendly service, including a popsicle for the hot weather. It's a shame we don't live nearby, otherwise we'd be here every week!!

We went here for a fun karaoke night. We only ordered drinks, but the atmosphere made it perfect—relaxed and cheerful. We really enjoyed singing and socializing. One minor complaint: the air conditioning could have been a bit more powerful. Still, it's definitely a place to have fun with friends!

I had a team outing here with my work. Personally, I wouldn't have chosen it that way. We had the entire venue. We started with coffee and pastries. The coffee took a bit long, but it was a great cappuccino, and there were a lot of people there. The pastries were delicious. Afterward, you could play pétanque and order drinks. There were stairs, but I don't think there was an elevator, which is a bit of a problem for people with disabilities. Because there were so many people, it was quite noisy and stuffy. But oh well. It was fine for a one-off. Personally, it's not my thing. The location is right in the city center.

The bowl of snacks is tasty, especially when you're busy The satay with fries is absolutely delicious! Maybe a little more sauce! The Chicken Burger was certainly not liked... tasted like something plant-like! And the black angus burger was nothing to shout about either!

Celebrated a colleague's farewell party here yesterday. Had some tasty snacks and good drinks. The service could be a little better, as I always had to walk to the bar to order drinks and snacks for our group of 20 people. It would be nice if the staff came by more often, especially for our group, they could have sold a lot more drinks and snacks. Jeux des boules is great fun! We rented 2 courts and put them to good use. However, there is a column in the middle of 1 lane, which makes it more difficult to play the game. Maybe come up with something else. Had a nice afternoon with the family. However, the food is expensive, and it is better not to order the "Angus burger". It was way too well done, and it bothered me all night long. (The hamburgers are tastier at McDonalds......) And you pay 20 Euro for that. Worthless

We threw a ball here, it was very quiet and the atmosphere was great. When you enter it feels like you are in an underground tunnel. My areas for improvement are refilling… at least offer it. The glasses were often empty and you had to find someone to ask for drinks and they were regularly on their phones behind the bar. The track was very soft in some places, which ensured that your ball immediately came to rest. Other than that you can easily go here. 1.5 hours was enough for us

Nice concept and recommended for team outings. However, it is very noisy due to crowds and that makes you talk louder and louder.

The nice and attentive service cannot make up for the mess the manager makes in the kitchen and also has a big mouth when something is said about it. Large group made a reservation months ago and then waited another 90 minutes for a cup of soup and a warm-up dish. People left for the main course and skipped dessert. The bill will become a thing, but never again.

Unclear explanation about the game, which made it difficult to play the game. Staff is very rushed. Starter tastes like water with a tomato peel. Main course took 5 minutes (after asking 3 times), even though you have to indicate your meal choice when booking. Nice concept, but it could be better. Next time go to ChiChi!

Nice location, otherwise a huge disappointment. Far too busy and massive, you can barely hear each other. We had to wait 75 minutes for our main course. This is no exception - several groups around us have left to eat elsewhere in the city. Food is of extremely poor quality, for a hamburger of €17.50 I expect more than a limp, defrosted Italian bun with 3 leaves of arugula and tasteless sauce. We sat at the table for 2 hours and only once did a waitress come by to take a drinks order. We then walked to the bar ourselves when we wanted to order extra drinks. Our jeu de boules court had clearly not been raked for far too long, causing height differences to occur along the entire length of the court. There was no way we could get rid of it and we left after 2 games, there was no point in it. Alternative in Utrecht: ping pong club or the other jeu de boules bar in the center.

The atmosphere is determined by your company and that was good. Cheap frozen fries fried in old frying fat, frozen bun around the hamburger and no vegetables.

Very nice concept. Jeu de boules and a snack and drink and you can also dine there. Also in an arrangement. Busy atmosphere, but pleasant. And if you are with a nice company, you won't notice the crowds. Great snacks. Convenient ordering with QR codes. The game is not very special or exciting. But nice to do something like this once. And the fact that it is indoors is also very useful for the cold and rainy days in the Netherlands. :)

Canceled the job by telephone 24 hours in advance, this was handled well. He indicated that if I sent an email, I could get my money back. Unfortunately, if you cancel a job, you will not get your money back under any circumstances. If you pay 3 months in advance, 25% will already be withheld. Seems a bit unnecessary to me, very customer unfriendly. I was told something different on the phone... shame Luckily there is another Jeu de boules bar in Utrecht that let us onto a court for free!

Hier spontaan naar binnen gestapt om eens wat anders te doen, het idee is leuk maar spontaan komt niet uit in de agenda van de bar. De zaak was voor de helft leeg, maar even een half uurtje een spelletje doen was aanvankelijk erg lastig. Kon alleen maar op reservering en voor een half uur was na overleg met management alleen mogelijk voor bijna het volle pond. Na wat meer overleg toch gelukt voor een half tarief. Veel zakelijke 'bedrijfsuitjes' met het team. Spontaan even aanwaaien is dus lastig. Leuk voor een keertje, niet heel erg bijzonder verder.

Played a game here with colleagues. Very cozy and nice atmosphere. The food is very simple and you can also skip it. Just a skewer of satay and fries, without even a leaf of lettuce or the like.

Different experiences on our evening here. We were with our group of friends (girls in their 20s) staff was super sweet and nice except the manager. 1 blonde boy really made our evening fun, super friendly and enjoys his work. The manager, on the other hand, was very dirty, it started with the ID check, quite clear that we are over 18 but fine, no problem showing ID but he looked at everyone's name and spoke to everyone personally and gave too many compliments. Afterwards I was given dirty and annoying looks all evening, which made the experience less enjoyable, even though everyone else was trying so hard.

Uninviting location and €30 for 1 hour of pétanque is actually ridiculously expensive for what you get… food and drinks were tasty

Nice place on the canals in the heart of Utrecht. We had something to drink and looked at the boats. Beautiful cellar on the canal where you can also find Jeu de Boelen (indoor). We didn't do that, but it looked fun. Toilets were quite clean, also nice 😉

Super fun concept to play jeu de boules in one of the many old cellars along the canals of Utrecht. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed. Only having to go to the bar once for both rounds of ordering drinks to ask where it was, that's a shame. Why order at the table with a QR code if you then have to go to the bar yourself. It is also recommended to do it with friends or family.

We have been to France plenty of times, but we had never played a game of pétanque before. At the Boules and Bitesbar we learned how it works through a perfect (written) explanation (and while enjoying delicious food) and we can join the locals on our next holiday😉. Really something different to do! Thank you!

Was here with a group. We were contacted in advance to ask if we could create an account with a maximum amount, but it was indicated that it would be too busy for this. Then on the day itself it suddenly appears that an invoice has been created by the staff, from which everyone is ordering. This was quickly settled, but it is very strange that they do this just like that. The manager is downright rude and allowed me to have a shot behind the bar up to 3 times. Staff seems inexperienced and understaffed, as ordering a drink also takes a century. The tent looks great and an evening of pétanque is certainly fun, but I would choose a different place in the future.

Meh.. great entertainment for an hour.. Don't expect anything in terms of catering and service. Closing time is 9 p.m., but at 8:30 p.m. they turn up the music so loud (an average nightclub is nothing compared to that) to get rid of you. To just ignore the unfriendly attitude of the best man. Chaotische en chagrijnige ontvangst door vrij botte, gestresste man. Wees tafel toe obv reserveringsnaam, maar zei niet welke baan we hadden. Na een tijdje weer in de rij om na te vragen. Ik had bij reservering meer dan 3 weken vantevoren gevraagd om een baan aan de zijkant omdat het groepslid dat slecht ter been is dan steeds op de bank kon zitten. Geen baan aan de zijkant gekregen, groepslid nu op losse stoel in de weg voor bediening en gasten die erlangs moesten. Vervelend, en je gaat mij niet vertellen dat al die zijbanen ook specifiek aangevraagd waren door de groepen (vergelijkbare groepsgrootte) die ze wél hebben gekregen. Chaotische bediening, steeds verkeerde of andermans bestellingen en duurde allemaal lang. Wel een hele goede borrelplank. Jeu de Boule zelf prima. Duidelijke uitleg bij elke baan, hark erbij, prima geregeld. Verder erg gehorig en drukkend warm, maar dan moet je niet in een werfkelder reserveren dus oké.

Nice place , good for groups events. We booked an arrangement boules and food.. the snacks where really great. The main course was ok, some of us had cool fries. The service was good staff was helpful, in other reviews I read about the lanes.. have to say I have seen better. Nevertheless we had fun and played the game as good as we could.. you have to create your own party in the end. The location is really nice.. but being a guy from the city I like the wharf cellars

jeu de boule is very fun to do, hours are long enough. Furthermore, it was a chilly atmosphere and that was more due to the employees, the music was turned off for a long time. Didn't ask what we wanted to drink in 50 minutes, but in the last 5 minutes they also came 3 times... But it is still worth doing and experiencing

You almost have to beg the staff to let you place an order, and when the time comes it can take half an hour before you get a drink. Jeu de boules fun, atmosphere ok, vegan burger comes with mayo.

The concept is very nice. So you can also throw a ball during drinks or dinner. However, we had a team outing here with advance notice of what food should be provided. Ended up with the wrong burgers, which they take away and still come with the wrong order. The food itself was good. In addition, as several reviews indicate, we had to wait for service to order drinks, so we ended up going to the bar ourselves. I have the impression that they are a bit understaffed or that the staff is just starting out. But make sure you don't let so many people or groups make reservations.

We had a very nice evening at the BBB. But people, don't order a pitcher! €21 for 4.25 glasses of beer in a jug, while 4 beers cost €14. You can't know this, by the way, because there are no prices for the beer. Shame. Won with boule. (And by the way, don't order cocktails. They come straight from a package. Very gross and a waste of €10.)

Great place for a get-together with friends or team outings. Boules lanes add a real rustic flair, though some lanes are open to patrons sitting at their tables at the end - slightly concerned about accidents from flying metal balls. Really tasty food!

The game is fun; definitely something to do with a nice company. However, the food and the timing here are downright disappointing (they apparently had no idea that a menu arrangement had been booked, which meant that they had to actively inquire about it and once they realized that 4 x satay menu had to be delivered, it turned out that the chicken satay still half cooked...).

Conviviality in a special location

I booked for a very large group of 40 people. I expected that when they knew a large group would come, they would have enough staff to handle it. That was not the case at all. Atmosphere of the bar is nice at first glance but when you are trying to play petang it quickly becomes chaotic. The lanes are very bad, there is no tactic to throwing the ball as all the lanes are different kinds of rocks and pebbles and at some there is a plastic mesh underneath. The staff never came to take our order and when you had to order at the bar, there were 2 people, one who was dealing with a crash of their system and the other just didn't want to help us? We were there for 2 hours and to order anything was a hassle. Then when we had to pay it was even more chaotic. The system stopped and not one of the personnel tried to come with a solution. How can your system fail and you just expect your guests to fix it? They didn't have a single solution. If you had no cash, you were just screwed. Even if you had cash, they couldn't check what your tab was so they were just panicking and not letting us pay. I am not coming back here as there is another jeu de boules bar in Utrecht.

It's fun to throw a ball here. Turnover would be higher if more attention was paid when your drink is finished. Took quite a long time. Drinks board was fine. The cocktails were also good.

We decided to do a game of Jeux de Boules and have some bites to eat. We got lane 5 and that must have been the least desirable lane of them all. There was an air duct above the tables and next to the lane which caused me to have to duck every time I needed to play or when I went to sit down. (I’m 1,85/6,2). It was hot because the lane is located next to the kitchen and in the back of the venue where there was no airflow. Another disappointment were the lanes themselves. They’re made from gravel and sand. Ours had a big dip in the middle. The boules would either drop dead because of the excess gravel that was used for leveling it out. Or simply go in a completely different direction. Secondly, gravel is dusty. With 4 lanes in close vicinity, there’s a lot of dust in the air. And you will get your hands dirty from the gravel and playing the balls.(which isn’t handy considering you can order bites to grab with your hands. We did not get a chance to taste the food as the kitchen and the staff forgot about our order 3 times. It was busy but they should have been able to handle it. I would have expected the music to be either pop or perhaps something more French oriented. It is a French game after all. But instead of that we got the Apres-Ski experience with Dutch folk songs (Slagers). On the end, we were hungry, sweaty, dusty and ready to move on. Luckily one of the staff at the cash register offered us drinks from the house due to the unpleasant experience. That is why service got 2 stars. Conclusion: If you want to play a game of Jeux de Boules and enjoy yourself, better to find another venue.

Cozy location and tasty snacks. Staff nice but just hung behind the bar and chatted with each other. Not once in 2 hours did they come to us and ask if we wanted to order something. And when the order came, the empty glasses/drink boards were not taken, even when our table was completely full.

Surprisingly nice place on the Oude Gracht for a fun and active outing with friends, family or colleagues.

It's really fun to play bocce. Not really for eating. Vegan who is served meat. Two of the group had received different food than what they had ordered. Three times we were told that what we had received was also what we had ordered. The two plates were even taken back to the kitchen to ask if it was really what we ordered. Only when we asked the head chef about the table did confirmation finally come that they had not done it right. And the cook blamed the service (plates went back to the kitchen so what do you mean it's the service's fault). The worst part was because they were so adamant that they actually ate/tasted it. One was a vegan. So who ate MEAT. The solution: We did not have to pay for the plates of the two who had the wrong food (logically because those two did not eat anything except for a single bite), and another dish was removed from the bill. Hopefully they learned from this, but I didn't really feel like they were actually listening to you as a customer. If they had just been honest from the start and listened, the problem would have been solved. Because then it would have been immediately clear that the two dishes had been switched. If everyone had just had dinner and everyone had eaten what he/she ordered. And the vegan had not eaten meat.

It was a nice evening. We had booked an additional food package. What was unfortunate was that after the reservation time for the courts had expired, the soup was immediately served to the table. While everyone should at least wash their hands after playing boules. So the soup was half cold before we could start it.

Concept en locatie is heel leuk. Met reserveren ging er van alles mis en telefonisch is bedrijf slecht bereikbaar. De rekening klopte ook niet, arrangement niet goed verrekend, niet bestelde items op de bon. Persoonlijk vonden wij de muziek erg hard en viel wat ons betreft in categorie geschikt voor het foute uur. Personeel is vriendelijk en behulpzaam.

When we arrived there was no one there yet, yet we were assigned a lane with a pillar in the middle. A tip for the owners would also be to rake the lanes every morning or evening. There is a rake so you can do this yourself, but for €24 for an hour of pétanque, I expect this to have already been done.

Got sick after eating here. Had a chicken burger and then started vomiting and had a fever. There was a thick layer of dust over the tables because of the paths that gave off a lot of dust. As a result, I also suffered a lot from my allergies. NOT RECOMMENDED!!
