We had a delicious classic British meal. The fish and chips are highly recommended. It is a pity, though, that we only received the bread (as a starter) after we had finished our main course. Oh well, a mistake. I really like the atmosphere! Friendly service.

Simon and his son run a quality yet comfortable and welcoming pub with excellent food, drink, and service. He handmakes the Guinness beef pie himself! I had the pleasure of chatting with him for a while. Will Come again when in Utrecht!

Service was fine. Atmosphere was okay. Food was substandard, even by student pub standards. Spareribs were too burnt, which was masked by the sauce. The burger bun was soggy and the burger itself was tasteless. Choose a smaller menu or no food at all. Beer was beer.

It is very cozy there and the service is very friendly, I love going there and the food was delicious!!!

Nice and cozy. Greasy food, but that’s part of the experience. Really reminds me of good old England. The cider is also tasty.

What a wonderfully authentic pub this is. I was there to hear the radio show "Spijkers met koppen" (Spijkers with Heads). What an atmosphere and what a fast pace. Dolf and Willemijn are true professionals. Top-notch location. The service was fantastic even though the place was packed. The drinks were fine. I've had better toasted sandwiches.

Bad typical Dutch food, sweet Guinness steak pie tasted like a dessert. The onion rings were from a box. The beer was good, but not much on tap.

Tuesday night student deal, the food was really good for that price! The only minus is that the music is really loud here. The servers were really sweet (a plate fell and to make up we got a free drink). Especially recommend the schnitzelf from the four options that we have had here (but take the pepper sauce its delicious).

Staff was friendly, but the patty of my burger tasted not really like meat. Had better burgers at McDonald's

The chicken curry was ok, but has less spices than from an Indian restaurant. The hamburger had a cold slice of cheese. Taste was disappointed. A little more attention to the food is recommended. Very good atmosphere, friendly staff and big choice of beers and drinks makes this pub cosy and nice to stay longer.

Great bar but out of principle I avoid it due to the annoying ads that you have to watch when you go to the urinal. I am already paying for pints and food. Let me piss in peace please. These are not on the wall, these are mounted in the urinal top.

It's very cozy inside, but the food is disgusting. The steak pie is sweeter than many cheesecakes, and the chicken I got as a replacement was bone dry. The nachos with chili sauce were also bad. Even the herb butter that came with the bread was hard and crumbly. I'll stick to drinks here.

Ate here on Friday night. The food wasn't good at all, and it was quite expensive for what you get. The pie was overly sweet, the chicken was dry and lacking seasoning, the BBQ was watery, the fish and chips tasted frozen, and the nachos weren't good either. The drinks were good, and the atmosphere is very pleasant. I wouldn't order anything more than a bitterbal (a Dutch croquette) for food. We were also asked to pay at 10 to 9, even though we hadn't even had time to order dessert.

I came here for the first time yesterday and was super happy! I'd walked past it before, but it looked so fancy, I thought it must be expensive. Turns out they have really good student prices :) so I'm so happy. Delicious food for a super cool price. Cozy (Christmas) atmosphere and nice and spacious inside. Order at the bar and you get your drinks almost immediately; we didn't have to wait long for the food either.

Great place, every Saturday a real hit and a great atmosphere! It's a shame they choose to use beer-profit glasses. It looks like you're getting a vase, but the contents are a whistle. No doubt to keep the price per beer down, but I think this is just consumer fraud. It's a shame Florin chooses this. Not angry, just disappointed!

The 'student night' €8.50 burger gave me hella diarrhoea, but the drinks were nice and the pub was busy and had a good atmosphere.

The service is great, the atmosphere is good but the food is horrible and way overpriced. My friend ordered a fish & chip and was served some hard cheap breaded fish - he sent it back as it was really not good. I got a burger whose meat was inedible : the hamburger patty had two different colors and one was hard as leather. - so if you're looking for drinks, its fine. If you want to eat, maybe don't.

Really my favorite student bar, the music is fun, the food is fantastic (the nachos guys wow) and the concept of the student menu on Mondays and Tuesdays is really chill. I really like coming here!

I was at the Spijkers met Koppen program. I really wanted to go there someday. Definitely recommended in this accommodation. Nice coffee, apple pie could have been warm.

Nice place, really bad burgers. Truly the worst in Utrecht. Saltless, tasteless, limp bacon and not melted cheese. If they gave out an award for bad burgers, they would be the undisputed champions. But the rest is ok, so that's why 4 stars for the atmosphere.

The pub is nice and atmospheric, not a standard Irish pub with TV screens everywhere showing sports. The service was mediocre. Did not respond adequately to empty glasses, and had to wait a very long time for empty plates to be taken out. The food was really mediocre, I had the fish & chips and the fries were still ok, but the fish was not freshly fried in fresh beer batter, and I fear it was a standard fish fillet and certainly not fresh cod.

Great place when you’re looking for an authentic English pub feel and atmosphere. Perfect pours for their pints of Guinness.

Long wait to order. Everyone is in the kitchen. Also no sign of: I saw you. No decaf coffee.

Incredibly nice and sweet staff, Genuine hospitality that can no longer be matched by many businesses these days. Always an incredibly fun time here and definitely recommended if you would like to have a drink and sit with your friends.

What a fantastic pub! I don’t know where to start. The atmosphere is great, the beer selection is fantastic, and the service is out of this world! I will go out of my way to visit here again every time I return to Utrecht! Keep up the great work!

Nice atmosphere and good drinks. Florin feels like a relaxed, yet homely, place. We mainly drank here. Draft beer, red wine and a non-alcoholic cocktail.

Student menu on Mondays and Tuesdays is really great! You can eat a main course with fries and lettuce for a very reasonable price. You order at the bar, you can also take your drinks from the bar yourself. They will deliver the food to your table. I went for the steak. This was a good piece of meat, juicy and well cooked. The fries are a bit salty (you'll drink more of them) but still tasty. The salad is ok, but you shouldn't expect more from it. Would definitely come again for a quick, cheap bite!

Food was cold. Pints way to expensive. Overall not what we expected for that price.

The burger bread was frozen and when I asked to warm it , they serve same frozen burger again. Not good

Very disappointing... They were out of several food and beers. Beer was extra expensive and didn't taste good. The burger buns were half frozen and staff said there was nothing wrong with the burgers. We wouldn't recommend it sadly.

Nice bar but the Juilper beer tasted awful. Pipes not cleaned properly. I did complain but all they told me was that the Hertog Jan was better but more expensive. Also I find the bar very expensive 8.90 for a hertog Jan .

Appeal: Guinness, good location and cozy vibes. Their pub quiz night is good fun. Food leaves room for innovation and the irregularity of their Sunday Roast seems disappointing but I've heard good things.

Bar full of dirty glasses, staff has difficulty keeping up with the full room. Staff not attentive to empty beer glasses. Then you may like the fact that you are not asked if you want another beer, but I see that question as a service. If you want to pay, it takes quite a while before you get the attention of the waiter.

I come for the Spijkers met Koppen program, very enjoyable, but sometimes very busy. For someone of 63 years of age, standing for more than three hours is very tiring. But don't want to miss this outing for that.😺

Attended the broadcast of Spijkers met Koppen on Saturday morning. Was a lot of fun! Full cafe, good band (Boaz) and good atmosphere. Definitely recommended!

The atmosphere deserves 5 stars. Because we were there during a broadcast of Spijkers met Koppen. The food was good, a quick sandwich, unfortunately it was not clear whether it was white or brown. We found this out when we were served it. I also didn't realize it wasn't vegetarian. But yes, I should have paid more attention myself. Otherwise great.

The student deal for a cheap meal is really great. Excellent food for a very good price. It's a shame that the beer is quite expensive, especially in combination with that it is served in beer winning glasses, which makes me less likely to stick around for a few beers. Anyway, great place to have a bite to eat with friendly staff and a beautiful location.

It had been a long time since I had been to the Florin. But the food still turned out to be tasty and affordable! And otherwise just a nice pub to have a nice meal and a chat.

Disfrutamos de nuestra comida y bebidas. Los precios son razonables y el servicio era bueno. No estábamos buscando un "pub inglés", pero este es el lugar para ir en Utrecht si quieres uno. Viniendo del Reino Unido, puedo confirmar que el estilo es auténtico... pero la gama de cervezas es mucho mejor que la que obtendrías en el Reino Unido. Cuidado con los escalones que bajan a los baños, Edmund Hillary puede haber tenido problemas con la subida de nuevo 😀.

Unfortunately, the place had run out of several food and drink options due to Euro2024 men's soccer tournament.

Terrible food and high prices. I paid 19 euros for fish an chips and the fish was a pre-frozen stick that tasted awful. The place has a great atmosphere though and the staff are nice. But I ordered a coke zero that was no bigger than a childs cup, and full of ice. Disappointing because they used to have a wonderful reputation with food. Off the Utrechts nice-to-eat-at list unfortunately. But fun for beers and social!

The beer here is quite pricey, but there is a lot of choice and it looks nice inside.

Ate here as part of a programm organised by the students basketball association. Food that was served (cheeseburger, chicken burger, schnitzel, falafel burger and satay) is nice. However would love to see a bigger serving of fries and bigger satay skewers.

I went here last Saturday with my soccer team. We were with a lot of people (about 30), but we had made a reservation in time and indicated what we wanted to eat & drink. 30 euros per person for 3 normal beers and a main course. I understand that a large group is very difficult to arrange, but the food was cold, it was difficult to order from the bar, and you had some lonely fries and 2 pieces of tomato with your schnitzel. I didn't think it was worth the price at all, and I strongly advise against going here with a group larger than 8 people.

For years it was a dream to visit Spijkers with heads. Now it has finally worked. Completely happy.

Went here for a bachelerotte, I must really say the ambiance is perfect, not to forget the hospitality. 10/10 I would recommend: add on for the people wondering I didn't try the food so I can't share my opinion on that matter.

Very cozy place, simple but good food and a decent choice of beer. The only downside is the price for a draft beer of €4.10 for a small glass, and I'm not talking about special beer.

Went here for a few beers with a colleague. It's a staple bar in Utrecht and has been here forever, although it's not that crowded usually. Has a nice atmosphere and good beer selection.

Never seen such a bad service. Ordered a bottled beer 3 times, never delivered. Were waiting for the draft beers for ages.

They advertise cheap eats for students on Monday and Tuesday but although the price is low, the quality is even lower and absolutely not even worth the price. The staff is really friendly but the food is dissapointing. We ordered a cheese burger and chicken sate, the burger patty was the cheapest you can get from any supermarket. Furthermore, the quantity was not enough even for me (and I'm a small woman who gets full quickly).

Every Saturday from 12:00 to 14:00 Spijkers met Koppen broadcast for NPO Radio 2 with Dolf Janssen and Willemijn Veenhoven. Delicious beers, cozy atmosphere and top cabaret.
