I had a kinda shitty experience here recently after a bunch of good ones historically. I wanted to get the pot pie for dinner and the waitress had asked if I wanted the normal one not the veggie one but looked a bit put out when I said yes. When it came it was an unfortunate lentil pie. I don't mind eating veggie at all but this was bland and seasoned badly. I think the menu used to be much better with sliders, nice sauces/relishes and attention paid to the food. Drinks are still good, atmosphere too but please prioritise your food menu again!

Old but gold, great Cafe to have a short or long stop.

I left here furious. I took 45 minutes to make a sandwich, which, when it arrived was chicken from a packet, with sliced egg plant & plastic cheese on it. They charge €12.50 for this!! What a joke. Total waste of my time.

We came by here on kingsnight and asked to use the toilet. They charged us 7,50 per person! I would never complain to pay a small amount for the toilet usage but 7,50 is just insane. When we had paid and went inside, there was a guy in front of the toilet asking for another 2€ (and also a sign which said: toilet 2€). We could convince the guy inside that we already paid 7,50 pP outside so at least didn't have to pay another time, but one must wonder what the extra 5,50 where for and where those went...? It honestly just felt like they took advantage of the situation that it was a crowded place with long lines at the public toilets, especially for girls.

Great beer, an even better playlist, and nice staff. The general atmosphere is always super cozy

Absolutely terrible food. Simply inedible plastic cheese and dry white toast. Just gross.

Price performance of the sandwiches was catastrophic. Simple toast and only a few toppings, it really didn't taste good, but the fries that were served as a side dish were very tasty, so I could imagine that the loaded fries could be good.

A very trendy place, the vibes are extraordinary and the drinks amazing! Definitely worth going but make sure you have a reservation or come a bit early because it's a popular place!

Here you can have a nice lunch and a cup of coffee on a quiet day, but here you can also enjoy a nice meal at the weekend with many different options and also different options to have a beer or something else, I would call in advance to see if they have room because it is a beautiful place to be right under the Utrecht cathedral.

Cute service from the young girls working there but the food isn’t anything special and a bit overpriced for what it is. If you’re looking to eat id suggest somewhere else

The atmosphere is great but the staff… I arrived in the afternoon with 2 other friends of mine. The service was fine then. Then I went for a second round. We were asked for our IDs again, I explained that I had ordered from a colleague before, but she didn't care. Then I walked back inside after getting the ID cards, then I walked to the lady where I had ordered earlier and then the second lady said "oh sorry I didn't know you had already ordered" seriously? Then we stood for a while chatting with friends of ours who we met on the outside of the terrace against the flower pots. Then a gentleman arrived and said that we had to be quiet because we were making a lot of "noise", then another lady arrived again 2 minutes later and said that we had never ordered anything here and were not allowed to take the glass of beer with us. Excuse me???? I ordered this from her 10 minutes ago and it was taken away. I think this is a really bizarre experience. I have been to badabing several times but I have never experienced this. I hope this will be better in the future, it is truly bizarre that this still occurs in 2025!!

We only stopped in for a drink and ended up staying for the rest of the afternoon. Fantastic vibe, great food, and the amazing woman behind the bar was the highlight of our trip to Utrecht. Thank you for being so knowledgeable, lovely to talk to, and for helping us find the perfect beer. Highly recommend! Can’t wait to come back.

Atmosphere and staff are fine. But unfortunately the food was of very poor quality. I would only recommend going for a drink.

Nice place for a good selection of beers. Staff is super friendly. But the music is really loud and sound system is pointed straight down towards the tables.

There is a nice atmosphere in this cafe. It is nicely decorated and also has a beautiful terrace. Different types of beers on tap and also in bottles. Not very special, so unfortunately I was not able to add an extra check-in on Untappd. Also great for a quick bite to eat or a drink here. Loaded Fries are highly recommended here.

Tasty beers, although yesterday the IPA on tap had already run out, I got a great alternative from a can. The atmosphere is unique.

Because of the cozy atmosphere and appearance, we thought we would have a bite to eat at Badabing. Once we had chosen a table, we did not necessarily feel welcome. Eye contact was difficult to obtain, the veggie share dinner was not as expected (very little and no taste). In addition, we were not given a napkin or cutlery and there was no eye contact to ask for this. The staff was mainly busy with each other and on the telephone. We were also not asked if everything was OK or if we wanted a second round of drinks. That's why we eventually walked to the bar to pay and to our surprise our table was immediately cleared and cleaned. All in all, we expected more and I do not recommend it.

You can enjoy delicious food here. My daughter had a ham cheese sandwich (The old Skool Deluxe). You get popcorn with it, which is really nice. And I have a tuna sandwich (The Tune One). I had a Badablond beer myself and it was very tasty (highly recommended). We would love to come back here again.

We thought it was a super fun place to go, always our go-to. not anymore. The bartender gave us an extra shot and after we paid for it (without being aware of it), he could no longer be reached. Shame. We had a great time, but apparently making a profit is more important than a customer's experience

Been to Badabing a few times, outside very cozy and almost Mediterranean decorated with cheerful colors. Within a completely different atmosphere; A truly British pub with mostly British-speaking service. They serve real fish & chips (without newspaper as is traditionally the case in Great Britain), many other tasty snacks and, above all, delicious Belgian beer. Great to get there and outside, often covered with large parasols and heated on cold evenings.

An indoor and outdoor food and drink venue located next to the Dome Tower. Do not get bored with the large number of people and movement around you.

Relaxed on the terrace with a beautiful view of the cathedral tower. The place is nicely decorated with plates. Nachos were a pathetic exhibition. Small portion of nacho chips with some sauce on top for €8.75! I would just get something to eat somewhere else.

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Waiters were so kind and sweet, atmosphere had a really nice feeling, outdoors was great and indoors too looked super awesome. Food was also really tasty and flavorful and I loved the fries sauce . Delicious and fresh,!

Badabing in Utrecht is a fantastic spot for a night out! The atmosphere is lively, with great music and friendly staff. The drinks are reasonably priced, and the cocktails are delicious. Highly recommended for a fun and memorable evening!

Coffee was cold, apple pie took forever before we got it and so the coffee was gone. And the toilet was too dirty.

Had a very positive experience! Nice service, English girl and a Dutch boy. We were helped quickly and the food arrived quickly! Super cozy atmosphere and the food was also very tasty! It was quiet when we were there. Also many vegetarian options! I am vegetarian and my friend is not and there were tasty choices for both.

We came here for a small drink. There was plenty of room on Sunday afternoon. Orders could be placed via a QR code where payment had to be made immediately. Bababing's blond beer is not recommended. It is a bit watery and lacks the taste of a blond beer for me. The chicken popcorn, on the other hand, is tasty! The outdoor seating areas seem to consist of randomly collected pieces. That makes it a bit messy.

After an impersonal order via a QR code, we received our beers and the foam head died within a minute. After asking twice where our snacks (chips) were, we received 2 bags of chips (from Makro?!?). Really dramatic.

Not the best experience. When we entered it felt like a friendly brown pub. We sat down at a table, empty but not clean. Well, okay, not very much. Tea in a nice large glass and from a nice brand. Ordered some food (why is EVERYTHING in Utrecht these days in English, menu, staff, sidewalk signs, why?), classic club and a meat to share. What a disaster. My friend's to share meat in particular for 14.00 euros was really substandard. In terms of preparation (deep-fried and ready-made stuff are the chef's best friends), in terms of quantity (was the stock gone, shrinkage at its peak or just bad?), in terms of the love that went into it (none), everything was seriously insufficient, it's a shame. ! The club was okay, a 5. It was filling, which was nice and said it all. The music became louder and louder until we could barely hear each other due to the heavy rock metal that was being played. Again, why? There was such a nice atmosphere, I don't think the audience that was there at that moment was really waiting for loud hard rock. I have never been inside somewhere for such a short time and been so happy to be outside again.

What bad food. I ordered a club sandwich, it looked fine at first. The prices are low so I don't expect culinary delights. But the chicken and bacon on the sandwich tasted bad. I was afraid I would get food poisoning if I ate it. I took 2 bites, left it and left. We regret that we paid the full amount, but it was impossible to talk to the waiter (poor English and not service-oriented at all). It was so gross. My friend had ordered Loaded Fries kapsalon, the round container the fries were in was smaller than the candle holder. 15 euros for 8 pieces of fries, 3 mini meatballs and 4 'popcorn chicken' A really bizarre bad experience with this cafe, we thought we would have a nice lunch...

Crappy food. Baking fish and chips. Just parts black. Nachos not from the oven, but with cheese sauce from a bottle. Wooden hard benches. Really something for standing drinkers. Eat somewhere else!

Classic rock fans will definitely love this place! Loved the decoration and reaaally enjoyed the music 🎶 House wine was good and the truffle gnocchi with spinach, and salad also tasted good. We didn't enjoy the texmex enchiladas though; too many beans inside and quite spicy as well. Moderate prices.

I didn't eat but their beer was nice. The atmosphere was nice and the bartenders were working very fast. A place where you should drink at least one beer 🤗 I chose Affligem, it was good in terms of price and performance 🙋🏻 ♂️

I see a lot of negative reviews about the food at this place so I can’t comment on that. We ordered some nice coffee and actually enjoyed the cozy, alternative atmosphere. Stuff was friendly as well.

The place itself is very cousy, but the food is really bad. We ordered a burger and a brunch (bread with eggs, sausage and Bacon). Since my wife is vegeterian, we asked if they could take the meat out and replace it with avocado, but that was too "difficult" and they said it was not possible. Turned out everything came separated, so not sure why it was so difficult. We were not even asking to reduce the price. The burger had a very bad meat, with dry bread. We asked for a coca-cola, and got a pepsi. It would be good to communicate with your customers what you serve before serving. Anyway, for food, I found it to be a waste of money, but the place is couzy.

This used to be my favorite spot in the city. One of the few bars with good music and awesome customer service. Unfortunately nobody that used to work there, works there anymore and now the bartenders are just rude and uninterested. What went wrong??

Coming as a family to eat on the go, we waited forever to be served simple club sandwiches... After having suffered several refusals after our initial order (no burger, ultimately no mini-burgers which we were offered at the place, same for the falafels 🤯). We fall back on club sandwiches... Which we will ultimately never have... We ended up giving up and fleeing this pub on an empty stomach after three quarters of an hour of waiting! We were “just” charged for the drinks.

Brown café with cheerful music. Friendly English speaking service but not very attentive. Several visitors walk away because they are not helped. The nachos have cold cheese sauce instead of melted cheddar and come from a package. Many types of beers on tap.

Generally fine...But to the owner of Badabing: It is insanely disrespectful to have music play when a World Cup Sports final is on and the teams are singing a national anthem or doing the Haka. The bar is full because of the sports. And then the sound is not allowed to be on? It is one of those times where it should be an exception even though it is not a sports bar. All you are doing is making sure people grather go other places next time.

Really bad experience. Tried to watch the world cup rugby finals. But they are telling its it’s not a sports bar. With everybody watching the TVs. Playing loud music and no commentary. Not friendly staff.

Good experience! The operator was friendly, especially considering how busy he was. I completely understand that situation, but as a guest it is not very nice to be served in a hurry. Still, my compliments to him! Margarita bread (a bit cold) and the salmon sandwich are recommended. Prices are normal, which is nice. The interior and the overall atmosphere inside in particular make it a pleasant experience

I was sitting on the swing and my jacket got a nice scratch. It is dangerous to have this metal swing and not maintain it properly.

Too expensive for what you get, the server did his best but was a bit sloppy. There were six of us, three of us got our food at the same time, the rest's food only came fifteen minutes later and was cold. Not recommended if you want to have lunch in Utrecht.

The music is loud, we could barely hear each other, even though we are students ourselves. The staff was very rushed due to a shortage of staff and the ginger tea was sparsely filled.

This place served us the most disgusting sandwich ever, staff made fun of us among themselves when we couldn't finish it and dared to charge 12,00 (!!) Euro for it. It's still a mystery to me how you can serve one of the most expensive sandwiches in town and put that sickeningly sad excuse of a plate of food in front of us with dry eyes. I wish I took a picture to show here. They even dared to give us weird looks when we left early and didn't tip. I used to come here for a drink, but they're not getting another cent from me. Avoid.
