You are pushed to leave. If you order a drink, there is a time limit on it, even though it is an hour before closing time. Very bad service.

The food was tasty, but the service left much to be desired. When ordering dessert, we were told it would come with the main course, so the staff recommended ordering it later. The ribs we ordered didn't come with fries, even though they should have been included. The staff informed us they were to be shared with another person who had fries included in the set. I don't accept such excuses, as these are two separate sets and the kitchen should have prepared two portions. I probably won't visit this restaurant again.

The restaurant itself is impressive, but unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. We felt as though we were not really welcome. We only received the menus after asking for them, and the staff seemed largely uninterested in us. At one point, the waiter spilled some coffee onto the saucer and then simply served it without saying a word. I wouldn’t have had a problem with the coffee being spilled, but I would have expected him to at least acknowledge it or pay some attention to what had happened. Overall, the service felt rather indifferent. On the positive side, the food was good and arrived quickly.

Had an abnormally delicious lunch at Brafoer! 😍 I went for the tuna sashimi sandwich and wow… a real taste sensation! 🤤 Tuna, avocado, edamame, wakame, sriracha mayo, and sesame seeds. Delicious! My boyfriend had the Crunchy Chicken Slide and that was fantastic too! Added to that, the location is lovely by the water. Nice and lively and cozy. Absolutely recommended and definitely worth a repeat visit!

It was a very bad experience we had yesterday. We were 4 people in the restaurant, and it took us maybe 20 mins to get a menu. It was obvious that the restaurant was lack of stuff. The waitress was super unfriendly and unhappy. I felt like I was not welcome there at all! To order something, you have to be lucky, because they were obviously ignoring us! I cannot believe you pay 30+ euros for a dish in a restaurant and you get a service like this! It is unbelievable. I will never ever go again!

The food and cappuccinos are good, but fairly standard nothing particularly surprising. I’ve been here more often for lunch than anything else. What I really appreciate is how clean and fresh the atmosphere always feels. It’s a lovely place that truly adds value to the city.

A very nice, stylish, and modern restaurant. The staff is extremely friendly. The menu is available in Dutch and English. The food was delicious, and the food at the neighboring tables looked great too. We highly recommend this restaurant. There is ample parking right next to the restaurant. Parking is free after 7:00 PM.

The food is fine, but the staff is really anything but hospitable. They don't say hello when you arrive or leave, they happily leave you sitting there all evening with an empty glass, lean against the bar, and you have to wave at them three times before they come to serve you. They have no knowledge of the products. It really ruins the evening when you are enjoying a nice meal out.

Last Sunday, we organized our primary school reunion here, and we were extremely satisfied. Thanks to the hospitable and attentive staff, the evening was a great success. From the very first contact, everything was clearly and pleasantly coordinated with me. During the evening, the staff stopped by regularly to ask if everything was to our liking and if we needed anything else. That personal attention was greatly appreciated by our entire group. We thoroughly enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and the good service, which meant we even stayed later than planned. A big thank you to the entire team for their dedication and hospitality. I rarely write reviews. I thought I'd mention which dish needs a bit more attention from the chefs or which ones to skip. (other dishes are actually really fine) My parents ate asparagus tonight, the daily special; well, my parents are quite critical about food. You pay good money, so it has to be tasty! I just have never seen them send food back. Today they did it for the first time. After waiting 25 minutes, attempt 2; it was better, but my father said: still undercooked, I can really make this better myself. A waste. When asked how it was now, he told me that too. I really hope they do something about it because nothing was done about it except 'oh, too bad, how annoying'. (I also don't know what I actually wanted to hear ;) ) Service was good to okay. We could pay, after 10 minutes my father asked if it worked, oh yes, the bill. 114 euros for 3 people. Two diners were disappointed. My father gave a tip of 6 euros because it can happen once. Still, on the way home, all three of us were not happy with our evening. Very unfortunate at a restaurant that we actually all like. For now, we are choosing a different restaurant. We certainly recommend other dishes. P.S. If people indicate twice that they are disappointed with their food, I would try something other than "oh sorry, how annoying."

Back in Beverwijk again, and had lunch here again. A few minor flaws at the start. Our hot drinks were placed on the same tray as the chilled ones, and the waitress served the cold drinks first. She also managed to pick the wrong table time and time again: she walks to two tables and at one there are full glasses on the table, at the other nothing. Where do you put the glasses then? Take three guesses... They really need to dot the i's and cross the t's there. The food was of good quality. Attention had been paid to the tuna sashimi on brown bread. The tuna was just right. The salmon brioche was also tasty. Unfortunately, the brioche was too thin. Wide selection of coffee and tea. The cappuccino could have been hotter. Whether we will return here again is highly questionable.

We had a delicious meal, prompt service, and a cozy atmosphere. However, we were seated very close to the door, which wasn't very pleasant due to the draft. Otherwise, top-notch.

Unfortunately, April 21st was another disappointment. This was the second time we left here feeling dissatisfied after having lunch. My wife had fish and chips. The small pieces of kibbeling were as tough as leather! We were told that they buy in pre-fried kibbeling, which they then have to fry again themselves. And if you are sitting there as a couple, you are told: "I can offer a drink as compensation." Immediately afterwards, I was told: "But not for you." If I were sitting there with a large couple, I could understand one drink, but if two drinks are too much, then you don't understand the trade of a restaurant owner. Perhaps I should have mentioned it there, but my ordered beef hamburger also had absolutely no taste. Maybe some salt and pepper in the meat, along with a tasty sauce, would have provided more of a taste sensation. Conclusion: Never again Brafoer for us.

Just had a lovely lunch here with my daughter. The atmosphere in this place is good. Nice music is playing and the decor is modern with classic influences. We were served quickly and friendly. I ordered the pastrami bagel and my daughter the fish & chips. The bagel tasted very good but was a bit sparsely filled. The fish & chips is a combination of battered fish pieces (kibbeling) and fries. Not exactly what we expected, as we had expected a deep-fried cod or something similar. After checking the menu again, we should have known this, as it was clearly indicated... All in all, a really fine place with tasty food, a good atmosphere, and friendly service.

Nice place to have drinks with colleagues

This place was super neat. They serve delicious fresh tea and super good food. I went here during the weekends and it was pretty peaceful. Everyone could conversate normally without having to yell which was very nice. The service was also very good but there were some things that could use some improvements on the waiters end when taking notes for orders. There were several mistakes with our orders, such as delivering different soup, bread or forgetting a few drinks, which we had to remind them of. They were quite understanding and I hope they take this as a lesson to improve on the matter. It wasn't busy at all so it couldn't have been that. Overall a good experience to take lunch at!

The Brafoer Beverwijk website states: "the bar closes when the fun is over." Unfortunately, as a couple, we did not get to experience it that way. Before the movie, we both had a cocktail at the pop-up location, which was actually very tasty. After the movie, we stopped by for a final cocktail. When we arrived (Saturday evening at 11:30 PM), there were still at least 5 or 6 full tables. But we were told that the last round had already been served. In that case, you shouldn't state on the website that the bar closes when the fun is over. Besides the fact that this cost the owner 24 euros in lost revenue for 2 drinks that we could have consumed a bit sooner, it mainly seemed like the staff just wanted to go home nice and early.

Tonight we said goodbye to a dear colleague at the Municipality of Beverwijk. A wonderful get-together with delicious hot and cold snacks and drinks, of course. Followed by a lovely get-together! One of waitresses was racist, unfriendly, mean and rude. I have been a patron for ages and occasionally visit the place with both Indian and dutch friends and colleagues. The experience and food are always fantastic and service congenial . Today surprisingly has been the worst experience with this particular waitress. She ruined by age old favorite with this uncalled behavior

I went to Brafoer in Beverwijk this week for high tea. It was very tasty. To start, a creamy chicken soup. Afterwards, we were served mini rolls with salmon, carpaccio, lettuce, egg, and goat cheese croquettes. For dessert, carrot cake and scones, among other things. Everything was delicious, and the staff were friendly and nice. Definitely worth a repeat visit.

The restaurant looks cozy, but the food isn't particularly special and is quite pricey. I ordered half a chicken with vegetables and fries. Together with someone else, I received a mini bowl of fries. When I asked for a second bowl, just as we were almost finished, we were given a large plate of fries and there was an extra €6 on the bill.

Service and atmosphere are great. Food has improved significantly compared to last time. We ate with 6 people and everyone was satisfied. Everyone did find the food a bit too salty. The tuna was very tasty and the bone marrow (dessert) was delicious.

I love this place for lunch, but dinner was a bit disappointing. It took a long time to get served, and there were some mistakes with the order, etc. Nevertheless, it's a great place for a snack or drink. Lovely terrace too.

We went for high tea. The taste was fine. The sandwiches are actually too big, which makes you feel full quickly. We had to wait a very long time for the dishes and also had to ask when we would get more. We received everything in parts. Normally, you get everything at once. Why everything took so long, I have no idea. The place wasn't full, and we were the only ones for high tea. We were offered a free drink for the inconvenience. That was nice, but we declined. We really wanted to leave. We also didn't receive any compensation on the bill. Such a shame. No more high tea for us.

We came for a drink and a small bite: rib fingers and sweet potato fries. Rib fingers were delicious, but the Porn Star Martini was frozen and from a blender. Not at all what you expect when drinking a cocktail. And the sweet potato fries were €12.50—a truly ridiculous price. At most other restaurants, it's around €5.

Simply delicious food in a beautiful, atmospheric restaurant with exceptionally sweet, attentive, and friendly hosts. This place is perfect! My parents took me here for lunch for my birthday, precisely because it's always good and they have a wide selection. I ordered the soup of the week/day, pea soup. Unfortunately, it was so salty that I left it (which I never do). The staff apologized, but they didn't offer me anything else, no compensation, or any other solution. So, in the end, I only had three mouthfuls of soup for my birthday lunch. Such a shame!

This afternoon we had lunch, including the soup of the week, pea soup. It was way too salty, and we mentioned it. The only response we got was "I'll pass it on to the kitchen" twice. My daughter left the soup! Terrible soup and terrible service!

What can you say about this? Because of the layout, I don't see them getting a Michelin star, but the quality is definitely there. They'd deserve it. The food tastes great, and the staff is incredibly helpful. There's music, but it's not overpowering. A warm, moist towelette at the Lucky Duck (which is NOT allowed on the menu) is one of the few downsides. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

It's a shame the Beverwijk location isn't living up to its potential. The music is great, but the service and food are unfortunately mediocre. What bothered me most was the lack of hospitality: the staff didn't intervene when loud, drunk "Wijkers" (locals) started filming other patrons (women). The constant walking of this group to the outside/toilet was also very suspicious. I hope management takes a critical look at this, because the restaurant is currently way overrated. Christmas Eve was our annual outing with delicious food at Brafoer. I had the cheese fondue, which was delicious. We received excellent service again, and we were able to eat at our leisure. They listened to the only thing I missed about Christmas: Christmas music. Very nice. Well, we'll be back next year.

This time we came for drinks, but we usually always come for lunch. The food is always up to par, and in the summer, there's a lovely terrace. During the winter months, it's cozy and welcoming inside. Heemskerk Brafoer is a bit of a letdown compared to Beverwijk. The service, in particular, is much better here.

**Disappointing experience at Brafoer** My visit to Brafoer was unfortunately anything but successful. The prices are remarkably high for what you get. The portions were incredibly small, leaving me feeling unsatisfied. Even the fries—normally a safe choice—were scarce; you could literally count them on one hand. For this price, I expect much more. I won't be returning anytime soon.

The restaurant atmosphere is nice. I haven't had my main course yet, but I hope it's good. As a seasoned food expert, I strongly advise against it. The cheese fondue tasted like I was being attacked with every bite by a pure alcohol flavor with a clogged cheese taste. So, if you like shots, I'd only recommend it. The cheese fondue is delicious, and so is the fish platter, but this cheese fondue will haunt me for a while, so don't eat it while driving. 😭 I'll write another review if the main course is good, with 5 stars.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff, varied menu, and fast service. The spareribs fall off the bone and could use a bit more lacquering for flavor. The tenderloin is delicious, as are the fries and desserts. Yum!

What a cozy place! A lovely, extensive menu with something for everyone. Friendly service. We had the omelet: generously filled with vegetables and mushrooms on two delicious slices of bread. Excellent! Highly recommended!

Delicious food, but very unfriendly staff. Greeted by sweet girls upon arrival, but once at the table, we were served by an arrogant young man. For example, we didn't receive a card upon arrival (which was fine, no problem), but he was annoying and irritated as soon as my girlfriend and I asked for one. The sandwiches were tasty, but he ruined our pleasant time. His behavior continued for the rest of our visit. I guess he was having a bad day. I definitely won't be coming back.

Arrogant service. A young man (dark hair, around 25) greeted us (one man, two women) with "Hello ladies" and then said, "You don't know what's going on these days." The arrogant attitude continued until we left. Disrespectful and uncomfortable from the very first minute.

Last week I went to Brafoer twice. Once for lunch and once for drinks. What I really regret is that the service has been so bad lately. Which is a real shame, because I love going there with my friends. I had lunch there during the day, and after our plates were cleared, they didn't ask us for another drink, even though we were still chatting happily for an hour and a half. Later that week, I went for a drink with my friend. We ordered a cocktail and a flute. I initially ordered a frozen strawberry daiquiri, but a little later the employee returned to let me know they were out of strawberries. Normally, that's not a problem, but it happens more often than not when I order it, they run out. So I opted for the frozen Pornstar martini. My friend and I quickly saw that my cocktail was ready and only needed to pour the beer. We sat there for fifteen minutes watching my cocktail melt. After 15 minutes, the beer was finally poured and brought to us. I certainly don't want to be negative about this place, because I love going there and it's always a pleasant atmosphere, but it would be nice if more attention were paid to staff training.

We had a wonderful meal. But above all, the attention the waiter showed us on Monday, October 13th, to our celiac disease was fantastic. I'd never experienced anything like it before.

The controls remain a bit of a problem. There hasn't really been any improvement over the years. Such a shame...

I had a poke bowl, which had smoked salmon and tuna. I expect this salmon to be raw, as it should be. The rice has no flavor; it's supposed to be seasoned with vinegar and sugar. Japanese vinegar. Wasabi wasn't included. The soy sauce was in a small tube. We'll call it a poke bowl, Dutch style. We've been there before for lunch, and it was good. That's why we tried dinner.

Last Monday, I had lunch at Brafoer with a friend. The food was excellent and the staff very friendly. A few days later, I went back with my husband for dinner. Unfortunately, that wasn't as good. It also took a very long time to get our food.

Our first time here. A really nice, cozy restaurant. The food was excellent, the wine was delicious, and the atmosphere was great. The satay was good. I asked for some fries with it, which was no problem. I didn't get a lousy container, but a generous portion. That's how it should be. The bill was €95. Parking is free. Highly recommended.

My recent experience at your restaurant on July 29th. During our visit, one of your waiters accidentally spilled beer on me, my baby, and my phone. While I understand that accidents happen, I was disappointed with how the situation was handled. Because my C-section was wet and caused a lot of pain (due to the alcohol), we had to leave quickly. My friend couldn't finish her drink, and although you kindly waived the charge, we still had to pay full price for our food. I was disappointed that we had to pay €28 for a sandwich and fries, even though we barely got to enjoy them because I was soaking wet. My clothes were soaked, and we had to cancel our movie plans, ruining our day. I had hoped for more compensation, given the circumstances. I also had to wait a long time on the bus home, smelling of alcohol, and felt embarrassed. I hope you take this complaint seriously and take action to improve customer service at your restaurant.

Normally a place I enjoy visiting, but unfortunately, the last two visits have been unlike anything I'm used to. A frozen cocktail arrived in a very moderately filled glass. Far below the rim, while I always get a generously filled glass, right up to the rim. My neighbor, however, did get this, but she had a different flavor. Nachos, which recently had a cheese sauce instead of melted cheese. When we asked if it was possible to have melted cheese instead of cheese sauce, the answer was that there wasn't any cheese. This was very strange, considering the menu has quite a few options with cheese. When we asked for extra mayonnaise, it wasn't brought, and we ended up having to ask for it again. Not the service and quality I'm used to. These last two visits were a real disappointment!
