Brasserie "Le Bon Vivant" in Centrum

We and our friends were pleasantly surprised by the recent buffet they catered for 28 people. They took care of everything. A very enjoyable evening with a delicious three-course buffet in a beautifully decorated room next to the restaurant. The attentive service and the decor were fantastic. Excellent service.

The decor and music are a bit overdone. The staff was friendly but not overly present. The food was okay but nothing special. The baguette was of very poor quality and baked too long. The lasagna was tasty, but the ground meat could be softer. The fries were okay, the steak okay. Don't expect any fireworks. Personally, I wouldn't go there again.

What a great place! We actually wanted to eat somewhere else, but everything was full. It was quiet here, and this was actually our last choice. But we'll definitely be back! Delicious food at a great price, friendly staff, and a lovely atmosphere. The restaurant is nicely decorated and has a great atmosphere. I would recommend everyone to eat here!

Ordered a baguette that looked like someone had thrown up over it - deeply unappetizing. Everything else was clearly pre-made and felt like the cheapest quality. I’d genuinely prefer a simple meal from Albert Heijn’s bread department. I honestly can’t understand how this place stays in business selling dog food. Extremely disappointing.

It started right from the moment we walked in. There were three of us, and we were quickly seated. Friendly staff. We had two steaks and one satay. The steak and satay were very tender. Everything was fresh, including the stroganoff sauce, which was homemade with fresh ingredients. The salad was also fresh, not the dry lettuce and tomato like in some other restaurants. It's just a shame we were only in Arnhem for one day, and it's almost a two-hour drive for us; otherwise, we would definitely have eaten here more often! Highly recommended!

We had a delicious meal. We had a Caesar salad with generous slices of chicken breast, delicious anchovies (not canned), and fried strips 🥓 🥓. Beautifully garnished. Very friendly service. Nice French covers as restaurant music. Terrace on a very pleasant square.

Atmospheric interior, excellent service

The service was fine, but there were no prices on the cocktails and the cocktail I had was a Moscow mule, which didn't even look like a Moscow mule and tasted more like a glass of ginger ale than a Moscow mule.

It's absolutely hilarious that they dare call this a brasserie. The food is extremely mediocre for way too much money, and the service is laughably awful, courtesy of a girl who doesn't speak a word of Dutch. Having to speak English in your own country to order something is becoming the norm. There's nothing you can do about that, but at least put someone there who understands SOMETHING about hospitality, because this is just ridiculously bad.

The fish dish of the day tasted great. The quantity was also good, as were the side dishes, and the service was friendly.

Lovely terrace, wonderfully situated, but that's about it. Dry bread (left out for a long time) with a teaspoon of tapenade and a blob of tasteless herb butter, and lukewarm bitterballen (bitterballen) clearly from a large Makro package. The staff doesn't see you, and when you finally manage to order, you can wait a long time. The service isn't pleasant; you feel like a burden. We won't be back.

Wat een onvriendelijke bediening, kortaf en er kon geen lachje van af. Het eten was redelijk maar niet bijzonder. Ik had een salade, de sla kwam overduidelijk uit een zak en was niet echt vers. Niet voor herhaling vatbaar.

Personeel vriendelijk, maar bijna 9 euro voor "verse" groentensoep? Gewoon uit blik met soepgroenten ingegooid. Waterig bakje met niets erbij.

Wat verschrikkelijk was dit, totaal ongeïnteresseerd serveersters, de voeten waren te zwaar om opgetild te worden. De vraag voor een stevige rode wijn kon niet beantwoord worden. De aanrader van de dag kon niet beantwoord worden. Maargoed dan het eten: bij de eerste hap uiensoep de tent verlaten. Aan de uiensoep was niks Frans. Karig afbak stokbroodje in de bouillon gegooid met 3 sliertjes kaas want meer was het niet, geen ui te proeven. We waren bang voor wat er nog komen ging, dus de wijn betaald en snel weggegaan.

Forewarned is worth two. Food was bad rude staff. Something to say about this. When the owner comes to the table, out of nowhere you are shouted at and given a big mouth.

Outside in the sun. But we suffered from a smoking owner who let the smoke blow in our faces. Buns were dry and a bit tasteless. And the ice tea was also from a cheap brand. You can taste that. Staff seemed rushed. Not recommended. We won't go there anymore.

!TERRIBLE! 66,- for 3 salads of which everything was promised on the menu, the final score was the thinnest slice of carpaccio of my life with a little lettuce and 1 sun-dried tomato! Nachos were fine considering the price. We were still hungry after this food and very disappointed!!!!!

Het zag er op het eerste oog gezellig uit vandaar we naar binnen gingen. Het eten viel echter behoorlijk tegen. Het was erg karig. Bord niet leuk opgemaakt, tamelijk smakeloos ook, anderhalf blaadje sla bij het broodje. Dun plakje meloen en sinaasappel. We zouden hier zeker niet meer terug komen.

Very unpleasant experience. Ordered a deluxe appetizer, I've never experienced anything like it. We received 14 deep-fried snacks that were fried for far too long. And this for €15.60. If you want to file a complaint about it, they simply take the plate back without proposing a solution. When we walked into the restaurant we were also ridiculed by the staff. Definitely not recommended!!

Net niet echt Frans. Een uiensoep waar je de kaas op een broodje moet zoeken of een Saté met twee kleine stokjes of een dame blanche zonder inspiratie drie bolletjes wit ijs met een sliert chocolade saus. De ambiance is wel leuk met Franse muziek en vriendelijke

Was weer super gezellig. Je kunt hier altijd heerlijk zitten. Zowel binnen. En in de zomer buiten op het terras. Vandaag weer heerlijk gegeten op 2e kerstdag. Ze laten je hier ook echt genieten. Het eten altijd heerlijk. Super vriendelijk bediening. En je kunt altijd in overleg met de chef. Echt ouderwets genieten hier. Echt een aanrader. Tot de volgende keer.

The food wasn't something spectacular, we ordered 2 wraps and onion soup, the wraps were soggy and watery and the onion soup didn't really look like one. Also the menu was unreadable.

Great food (steak/schnitzel with fries), tasty (red) wine. Nice, friendly service. Cosy atmosphere: Christmas decorations. Tip: a bit unsociable to get a plastic bag of fries sauce: how hard is it to serve a bowl of homemade mayo with it?

Enjoyed eating outside. Food was delicious. Too bad fries sauce made from plastic. That's really not possible. But otherwise completely satisfied.

Tasteless, dry fish, souflaki well uhm.... Vegetables were snot. So no taste whatsoever. I added a little spice on top, but that didn't add any flavor. Sandwich in advance, was the morning's bread. As dry as can be. Please indicate, uhm yes oh sorry. And you pay for that?! A waste of my money and time. Not even a discount, nothing. It's ridiculous that this can still exist.

Today we went looking for a nice place to eat without a reservation Everywhere it was pleasantly full, but here it was almost empty. Nicely decorated, but as a chef I am ashamed of what comes out of this kitchen. Tasteless, without any imagination with watery sauces that seem to come from a packet. All salads and plate garnishes are the same. If you choose to steam your vegetables, don't just sprinkle the herbs on the pile of overcooked vegetables, but at least mix them briefly. So that the top vegetables are not too salty and the rest tasteless. The meat was cooked well, but the watery tasteless sauce it was in seemed to come from a package and was really not tasty. Of course a bistro is just good food, but this really needs a lot more attention.

We had a very nice meal here with four people. Two people wanted a salad from the starters, but a slightly larger portion and with fries. This was neatly taken care of. The service was very nice and polite. Highly recommended to have a nice meal here. We came in on a Thursday evening around half past six and were able to choose a table. However, if you arrive an hour later, I think a reservation is recommended. Because when we left the place was quite full.

Unworthy restaurant, close immediately. Le bon Vivant, for whom? Not for the customer. We had dinner here with a group of 10 people after a walking tour, without a reservation. L.B.V. indicates that he runs a French kitchen. The menu included souflaki and satay, French??. Served by a clearly irritated red haired lady, who was apparently also in charge. Food was of a very poor standard, fish and meat were tasteless and the accompanying sauce with vegetables looked snotty, no taste at all. My ordered tenderloin was well done and tasted sour. At first I thought it was the spinach with feta cheese, but no, the meat was spoiled. Was able to get something else after a complaint, but was completely fed up with it, partly due to several complaints about the fish and even the onion soup. The red-haired lady indicated that she was not the cook. After seeing the reviews, 99.8% bad, the owner pointed this out. I was laughing and told her that she doesn't read reviews, it was stupid of course, whatever I told her. 2 gentlemen in the kitchen pretending to be chefs. What a disappointment. Could have been a nice ending after our walk

Tegen verwachting in bleek het het mooi weer te zijn en de terrassen zaten vol, maar bij Le Bon Vivant was er nog een plekje over. Dat hadden we beter niet kunnen doen. Mijn vriendin had een Caesersalade (13,25!) en ik een uitsmijter. Daar kan toch niet veel misgaan zou je zeggen… De samenstelling van de salade was een naar niks smakende droge sla, zeer goedkoop uitziende kip en er was vis toegevoegd! Ik denk dat ze daar inkopen hebben gedaan bij de Lidl of de Aldi. De uitsmijter, geen keuze in wit of bruin brood, geen zout en peper op de tafel, smaakte ook werkelijk nergens naar. Het witbrood was van het goedkoopste vierkante brood. Met nog wat te drinken erbij vroegen ze er 33 Euro!

Vriendelijke en vlotte bediening. Het eten was heerlijk. We hadden de gamba’s en trio van vlees. Salade erbij was lekker en de frietjes ook. Zeker voor herhaling vatbaar!

Werden geholpen door vriendelijke donker harige medewerkster. We hebben besteld, 1 Duo Vis , met een matige saus, overgare flauwe kabeljauw., de zal was smakelijk. 1 x Trio varken, al het vlees was droog, door de saus te eten. Patat eh Aviko uit de airfryer smaakt vele malen beter. De wijntjes waren prima. Rokende zeer slanke andere medewerkster, lekker paffend naast je. Jammer en zonde van je geld.

Gezien de recensies was ik hier niet zo snel naar binnengelopen. Maar uiteindelijk pas gelezen tien we binnen waren. Toch wel verrast. Het vlees was mals en de bediening correct en zeker leuk. Zo zie je maar......laat je niet altijd leiden door de recensies.

Zelfs de koffie lauw , matige bediening matig eten … troosteloos . Lang verhaal Kort het zonnetje was fijn om in te zitten , maar verder rap naar de buren. Wellicht omdat het door de week was , moest de spirit nog komen . Man bij de kassa , mag wel een cursus klant vriendelijkheid krijgen. In het buitenlands met je collega of familie ging een stuk amicaler dan naar de klant die de rekeningen betaald . Dankjewel was teveel gevraagd … tot ziens … was tevens niet gegund Dan gaan jeugdige bedieners niet veel beter worden . Smoezelig en ongeïnspireerd …. Succes voor de volgende gasten

My wife and I had a wonderful meal at Bon Vivant last night. The steak (with pepper sauce) was really great. The desserts too (Crepe with ice cream and baked apples). Tip: the taste of the onion soup was fine, but could have used more cheese. I would replace the mayo bag with a neat bowl. Furthermore, nice ambiance, good merlot and good terrace. Great experience. We will definitely come back again.

Nice terrace, but mediocre food. Ordered a salad with goat cheese for lunch, but the lettuce was old and brown and very little. The wrap with salmon wasn't the best either unfortunately. Service was nice and fast. Left hungry.

Great opportunity to have something to eat!

Aan de ambiance en de vriendelijke bediening ligt het niet. Dus vandaar toch nog 3 sterren. Jammer dat eten niet net zo goed was. Ik had een trio van vis. De vis smaakte matig en een beetje droog ondanks het sausje.

Very troubled case, a girl serving was super slim, dark haired, super hostess, but what was offered was very below standard omelette on cheap white bread from Aldi and omelette is not an egg cake, your chef should learn to cook and tell you what quality is and not an egg cake Serve burnt after waiting 30 minutes. Omelet is very fluffy and can be tasty provided the cook knows what he is doing. A suggestion: make a much smaller menu but offer better quality so that the kitchen can process it better. Large menu is always bad, too many dishes, no overview for the kitchen. Go for quality

I ate a sandwich with you this afternoon. Found the quality below par. Bread was 2 slices of casino white of supermarket quality, cheese, the cheapest block cheese available, ham of pressed quality (the cheapest sandwich ham available), 3 eggs taken out of the pan a little too quickly and that for 12 euros. Sorry this wasn't good.

The place to be on a sunny spring day. At least in Arnhem. While you stretch your winter-weary limbs towards the sun on the terrace, you are treated to all sorts of delicacies and delicacies - wonderful! The name "Le Bon Vivant" says it all: here you'll find something of the French way of life combined with Dutch casualness, and all just an hour away from home.

A perfect restaurant with everything. Especially the food and the interior are wonderful. The owner is also a perfect person. He is a fatherly and respectable person.

Friendly service, but unfortunately, a tomato soup that tastes like a "ready-made dish on a broth basis without real filling" and a French onion soup. Hellas only contained "traces" of cheese. After inquiring about the cheese, they were told that this is it. Paying €8.75 for such a bowl of soup is quite overpriced. In short: nice atmosphere, friendly staff, but unfortunately poor price-quality ratio

It is a super relaxed, atmospheric brasserie, nice and quiet, super tasty food. Relaxing, we will eat there again between December 2 and January 14. Highly recommended.

Van buiten oogt het niet meteen uitnodigend. Binnen echter leuke aankleding/ sfeer. Heerlijk gegeten, erg vriendelijk personeel. Ik had 2 gangen en de prijzen vielen mij mee had duurder verwacht. Kortom aanrader!

Aan de plek en het personeel ligt het niet. Daar is niets mis mee. Ik heb nog nooit zo’n slechte salade gehad. In had de Caesar salade met tomaat, spek, kip, sardientjes en ansjovis. Heeft degene die dit gemaakt heeft ooit zelf wel eens een salade besteld? Ik denk het niet. Werk aan de winkel! De presentatie klopte niet (alles in zijn geheel op elkaar gelegd) en veel te weinig voor €14,-. 1 partje tomaat , 1 sardientje, 2 hele plakken spek, wat plakjes kip en wat parmezaan.. alles onder een klein bergje ijsberg salade. Dit moet en kan zo makkelijk anders. Mijn zoon had een wrap met chorizo. Die zag er wel goed uit en was wel lekker.

Het is een gezellig restaurant en de bediening is prima, maar het eten is gewoon echt niet lekker en weinig. Je kunt beter 1 van de andere tentjes op dit plein kiezen.

Food quality is below average, would not recommend to eat here. Same for the coffee. Waitress was very impatient, while it was not even busy. Service was fast though, so giving two stars for that. Location is very nice.

Grappige aankleding (beetje zoals in de rij bij een themaachtbaan bij de Efteling). Personeel niet extreem vriendelijk maar ook niet onvriendelijk. Prijzen zijn heel redelijk. Beleg op broodje smaakt niet heel vers. Beleg op wrap ook niet. Legenda: 1) Vreselijk! Raad ik af, komt nooit meer terug! 2) Jammer, onder mijn verwachtingen, kom niet nog een keer. 3) Ok, niks mis mee, maar niet bijzonder, leuk voor 1 keer. 4) Prima, de moeite waard om terug te komen. 5) Uitstekend! Raad ik aan, komt zeker terug!

Kom hier nu al een paar weken, de locatie is geweldig mooi uitzicht en kan er goed zitten. Verder de service is altijd vrolijk en snel. Kwa eten is de prijs kwaliteit het meer dan waard echt een aanrader!

Afgelopen maandag hier geweest. Het eten was opzich goed te doen, maar wel erg karig opgemaakt. Ook wel weinig voor wat je betaald. Daarnaast vond ik het personeel niet erg vriendelijk. Toen iemand van het personeel er even door moest, zei ze op haastige toon 'tuut tuut ik moet er langs'. Niet super klantvriendelijk als je het mij vraagt..

Broodje carpaccio erg smaakloos. Omelet weer veel te zout. Zou hier niet nog eens komen.

Gezellige plek om te lunchen. Erg simpel maar prima. Genoeg keuze voor zowel eten als drinken. Bediening is jong maar dat is niet storend. Leuk om heen te gaan

Tegenvaller. Zeer kleine porties. Salade met geitenkaas was meer kaas dan salade, dressing geen smaak en het geheel zag er niet uitnodigend uit. Schaal Nacho's was erg weinig. Bord en ook glazen zagen er niet heel schoon en fris uit. Personeel wel vriendelijk.

Het eten was zeer lekker en ruim voldoende van hoeveelheid. Bediening was vlot en vriendelijk. Interieur is leuk en de Franse liedjes op de achtergrond maken het wel echt gezellig.

Standaard kaart met weinig keus voor vega(n). Standaard witbrood, karige aankleding van de gerechten, slechte salades. Jammer, want de locatie is wel mooi.

Twee keer achter elkaar een vies glas gekregen met lippenstift van de vorige klant erop, dat zie je toch. De jonge serveerster was totaal niet vriendelijk en zei ook geen woord bij het serveren van de drankjes.
